  • Georgia State Patrol investigating crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.


    SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – One person was injured after being hit by a car during a chase on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Savannah Friday morning.

    Georgia State Patrol says troopers were conducting a road check on West Bay Street at the intersection of Lathrop Avenue.

    At about 2:15 a.m., a black Ford Mustang approached the road check on West Bay Street. The driver immediately made a U-turn driving back towards downtown Savannah.

    Troopers left the road check to initiate a traffic stop on the Ford Mustang. As the Ford Mustang was driving east on West Bay Street, a different trooper was traveling west on West Bay Street near the intersection of Fahm Street.

    According to the trooper, the car was driving 54 mph in a 40-mph zone. That trooper also initiated a traffic stop on the Ford Mustang. The car did not stop and pursuit ensued south on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

    As the driver crossed the intersection of West 37th Street, the driver lost control of the car. The Ford Mustang struck the rear of a Toyota Tacoma. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was ejected and is in critical condition.

    When the Ford Mustang came to a stop, troopers conducted a felony stop on the driver. The driver got out of the car and was arrested.

    Georgia State Patrol says it was determined that the driver of the Ford Mustang was under the influence of alcohol and was in possession of Marijuana.

    The investigation is ongoing.

    BALTIMORE (AP) — The NFL will look into allegations that Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker behaved inappropriately toward massage therapists at four spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area, a league spokesman said.

    The Baltimore Banner detailed the accusations in a lengthy report Thursday. The news website said it spoke to six massage therapists who recounted firsthand experiences with Tucker from 2012 to 2016. Several therapists said they ended Tucker’s sessions early or refused to work on him again, and managers from two spas said they banned him from returning.

    “We first became aware of the allegations from the reporter investigating this story as they were not previously shared with the NFL,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement. “We take any allegation seriously and will look into the matter.”

    Tucker is accused of exposing his genitals, brushing two therapists with his exposed penis and leaving what they believed to be semen on the massage table after three treatments, according to the Banner.

    Tucker posted a statement on social media calling the allegations about him in the Banner story “unequivocally false.”

    “In accusing me of misconduct, the article takes innocuous, or ambiguous, interactions and skews them so out of proportion they are no longer recognizable, and it presents vague insinuations as fact,” he said.

    Tucker, 35, just finished his 13th season in the NFL, all with the Ravens. He’s achieved stardom both league-wide and among Baltimore fans in a way that’s rare for a kicker, and his 66-yard field goal in 2021 remains the longest successful kick in league history.

    In 2022, Tucker agreed to a four-year contract extension through the 2027 season. That deal included $17.5 million guaranteed.

    “We are aware of the Baltimore Banner’s story regarding Justin Tucker as well as his response,” a Ravens spokesman said. “We take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”

    According to the Banner, a representative of the spa chain Ojas said Tucker was “immediately terminated as a client” in 2014 after “a massage therapist reported an incident that allegedly occurred during a massage therapy session with Justin Tucker.” Owners of Studio 921, which is now closed, said through an attorney they “took immediate and decisive action to ban this individual from our business and services to ensure a safe environment for all.”

    In his response, Tucker said: “I have never received any complaints from a massage therapist, have never been dismissed from a massage therapy or bodywork session, and have never been told that I was not welcome at any spa or other place of business.”

    The allegations have some similarities to unrelated accusations made against another NFL player, quarterback Deshaun Watson. More than two dozen women accused Watson of sexual assault and harassment during massage therapy sessions while he played for Houston. After being traded to the Cleveland Browns, Watson missed the first 11 games of the 2022 season after an independent arbitrator determined that he had violated the league’s personal conduct policy.

  • Detectives Investigating Teen Death in South Seattle


    Seattle police detectives are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy inside of his South Seattle residence this afternoon. 

    At 2:17 pm, patrol officers responded to a domestic violence (DV) altercation in the 4000 block 14th Avenue South involving a mother and her unresponsive teenage son.

    When police arrived, they located the victim suffering from multiple injuries. The Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene and provided emergency medical aid. 

    The boy was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in critical condition. Despite all life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at HMC.

    The victim’s 29-year-old mother was arrested for Investigation of Homicide and booked into King County Jail. 

    Patrol cordoned off the residence and detectives with the Homicide, Crime Scene Investigation, and Special Assault Units arrived and processed the scene. 

    Detectives with the Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Unit have been assigned to this case.

  • State police investigating shooting, searching for suspect in Sugarloaf Twp. – Hazleton Standard Speaker


    SUGARLOAF TWP. — State Police are searching for a shooting suspect after a shooting victim was found Tuesday night at a residence on Merry L Lane.

    Troopers were dispatched to a residence at 5:35 p.m. for a report of a shooting victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries and the shooter is not in custody, police said.

    Troopers said this appears to be an isolated incident and and they ask the community to report anything suspicious.

    The Pennsylvania State Police Troop N Hazleton Criminal Investigation Unit assumed the investigation, which is on-going in conjunction with the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.

    No other details were released by PSP on Wednesday.

    “Antioch High School is on a lockdown due to shots being fired inside the school building. Metro Police are on the scene. The person responsible for shooting is no longer a threat,” the school district said in a statement. “We will be gathering students in the auditorium and will provide information on reunification as soon as possible.”

    The shooter then shot himself after the incident, police said.

    No details were immediately available on the conditions of the wounded students.

    Antioch High School is home to approximately 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12, according to its website.

    The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it is also responding.

    MUAR: Police are investigating an incident where Chinese flags were on display during a cultural event here.

    Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the incident occurred at around 6.10pm on Saturday (Jan 18) during a cultural and arts procession held in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the Muar Tiong Hua Associations Federation.

    “During the procession, a lion dance performance was held and a dragon replica, claimed to be the longest in Malaysia, was paraded through several main streets in Muar.

    “Based on observations made by police monitoring the procession, the dragon replica was decorated with the Jalur Gemilang on the right side and the Chinese flag on the left side,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 19).

    ACP Raiz Mukhliz was responding to videos and photos circulating on social media showing one side of the dragon replica, displaying the Chinese flag.

    He added that the police have opened an investigation paper on the incident.

    “The event organiser and eyewitnesses have been summoned to provide statements to assist in the investigation,” he said.

    The case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, Section 6(2) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012, and Section 3(1) of the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1949.
