Inzaghi: ‘Inter accustomed to Scudetto and Champions League pressure’

Simone Inzaghi assures Inter are ‘accustomed’ to the pressures of the Scudetto race and Champions League, as they rotate the squad in the trip to Lecce.

It kicks off at the Stadio Via del Mare at 17.00 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s four Serie A games on the Liveblog.

The Nerazzurri have a packed fixture list at the moment, as after the Supercoppa Italiana, next week they have a decisive Champions League clash with AS Monaco and then the Derby della Madonnina against rivals Milan in Serie A.

With that in mind, Inzaghi engages in a little squad rotation for the trip to Lecce, including a rare start for Davide Frattesi.

“We know that Lecce are in good shape, they lost only once in their last six here and that was in the final minutes against Lazio,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Frattesi and Zielinski have a lot of quality, they played only part of the game on Wednesday and showed how much they wanted to give their contribution.”

Napoli are keeping the pressure on Inter and setting the pace at the top of the table, having beaten Atalanta and Juventus in back-to-back Serie A games.

“We’ve been in the Scudetto race for many years, it is Napoli and Atalanta this season, it was Juventus and Milan last year, so we are accustomed to this,” assured Inzaghi.

“We know February and March tend to be the most decisive matches for all the tournaments.”

Something’s got to give, because Lecce lost only one of their last six Serie A home games, whereas Inter won seven in a row on their travels.

This could also be an historic day for Inzaghi, who is on 199 Serie A victories in 331 games, so could beat Max Allegri’s record as the fastest coach to reach 200 wins in 338 matches.

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to handle the pressure of competing for the Serie A title and in the Champions League.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a crucial match against Juventus, Inzaghi emphasized that Inter is a club accustomed to the high expectations that come with challenging for the Scudetto and progressing in Europe’s premier club competition.

“We have a squad full of experienced players who have been in these situations before. They know how to cope with the pressure and deliver when it matters most,” Inzaghi said.

Inter currently sits at the top of the Serie A table and is also through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. Inzaghi’s side will be looking to maintain their momentum and continue their push for silverware on both fronts.

With a blend of talented young players and seasoned veterans, Inzaghi believes that Inter has what it takes to compete with the best teams in Italy and Europe.

As the season reaches its crucial stages, all eyes will be on Inter to see if they can live up to their manager’s expectations and bring home the trophies that their fans crave.

  • Inzaghi makes 4 changes to starting XI in Lecce Vs Inter Serie A clash

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is set to make four changes to the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven against Lecce this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Matteo Darmian, Carlos Augusto, Piotr Zielinski, and Davide Frattesi will start.

Inter take on Lecce in Serie A this evening.

The pressure is certainly on the Nerazzurri to take three points from the match. Napoli’s win over Juventus yesterday has taken the Partenopei temporarily six points clear of Inter at the top of the table.

As such, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will hardly be putting out a weak starting eleven.

However, on the other hand there are also important matches just on the way to consider.

On Wednesday, Inter Milan face a crunch Champions League clash with Monaco.

Then next weekend it is the derby against AC Milan. That kicks off a February schedule which sees Inter playing several massive matches.

Inzaghi Plans Four Changes To Starting XI For Serie A Clash Vs Lecce

The Gazzetta anticipate that Inter coach Inzaghi will therefore be making some changes to the team.

In defense, Benjamin Pavard will drop out of the starting eleven. It will be veteran former Manchester United and Torino defender Matteo Darmian who replaces him.

Then, on the right flank, Carlos Augusto will start, reports the Gazzetta. Therefore, Federico Dimarco will have the opportunity to rest.

Lastly, there will be two changes in midfield.

Piotr Zielinski will take the place of Kristjan Asllani in holding midfield. Meanwhile, Davide Frattesi will get his first Serie A start in three months.

Inzaghi shakes things up with 4 changes to starting XI for Lecce Vs Inter Serie A clash

In a bid to secure a crucial victory against Inter in their upcoming Serie A clash, Lecce manager Simone Inzaghi has made some bold changes to his starting lineup. The Italian tactician has decided to make four key alterations to his squad in hopes of turning their fortunes around.

One of the most notable changes sees goalkeeper Marco Silvestri dropped in favor of the talented young shot-stopper Alessio Cragno. This decision comes after a string of underwhelming performances from Silvestri, and Inzaghi will be hoping that Cragno can provide some much-needed stability at the back.

In defense, Inzaghi has opted to bring in veteran center-back Giorgio Chiellini to shore up the backline. Chiellini’s leadership and experience will be crucial in dealing with Inter’s attacking threats, and his presence could prove to be a game-changer for Lecce.

In midfield, Inzaghi has decided to give youngster Nicolo Barella a starting spot, hoping that his energy and creativity can unlock Inter’s defense. Barella has impressed in recent weeks and will be looking to make a big impact in this crucial fixture.

Up front, Inzaghi has decided to shake things up by starting the dynamic duo of Ciro Immobile and Joao Pedro. The two forwards have a proven track record of scoring goals and will be looking to exploit any weaknesses in Inter’s defense.

Overall, these changes show Inzaghi’s determination to secure a positive result against Inter and will undoubtedly add an extra layer of excitement to what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Fans will be eagerly anticipating how these alterations will impact the outcome of the match.

  • Inzaghi: Sparta Prague a ‘tough’ game for Inter, Frattesi gives me hope

Simone Inzaghi warns Inter will need all their determination to defeat Sparta Prague in a ‘tough’ game and close in on direct access to the Champions League round-of-18, as they have a chance of retaining a spot in the top eight by securing a win in their league phase’s second-last match.

The Nerazzurri coach reiterated his side’s will to be ‘protagonists’ on the European stage while also keeping up their title challenge, admitting he still has ‘a few doubts’ about the starting XI he will line up on Wednesday, with wantaway Davide Frattesi in contention to get the nod over one of Inter’s stars.

Inzaghi wants ‘determined’ Inter against Sparta Prague and could start Frattesi

“It’s going to be a tough match,” Inzaghi told reporters in a pre-match press conference, as quoted by Fcinternews.

“I still have a few doubts, and I’ll have to decide. There are a couple of doubts and I’ll keep them until tomorrow morning.

“They haven’t played an official match since December 15, but they’ve done well in friendlies, and playing here on this pitch, where I’ve also played, is never easy.

“Sparta are a physical team that plays vertical football. They defend with five at the back, but their formation can adapt. They’re a strong team; they did well in their first two matches and only lost to top opponents like City and Atletico.

“We’ll need a determined Inter; they have Champions League DNA.

“I don’t like people talking about me; they should talk about Inter, who are on a great path. We need to keep doing what we’re doing in both the Champions League and Serie A.

“We want to defend the Scudetto, knowing we have strong opponents. In the Champions League, we aim to be protagonists—it’s in Inter’s DNA, and we must leave nothing to chance.

“There are many matches ahead, but as a coach, I love this. I hope everyone can help me until the end. Everyone contributes, both to me and the fans. Some players are out right now, but I hope they return soon because I need everyone.”

Frattesi has been the object of transfer speculations in recent weeks, with rumours suggesting he’s asked to leave the club this January, but Inzaghi insisted he ‘trained very well’, to the extent he’s considering fielding the former Sassuolo midfielder in the place of Nicolò Barella.

“He trained very well yesterday and today,” the manager continued.

“Against Empoli, he wanted to come to the bench with us, but he wasn’t available. Now I’m deciding whether to start him or not.

“Barella has started seven matches in a row, and I need to choose between the two. Davide has done well, and I’m happy because he’s worked hard over the past few days. He’s calm, enjoys being with the group, and seeing him work as he has recently gives me hope.”

Francesco Acerbi’s poor fitness has sparked worries among Inter staff and directors, who may be forced to bring in a defender in the winter transfer window, and the 48-year-old explained his return date has been postponed because ‘he still can’t push at full intensity’.

“The club is always with us, monitoring the situation, but I wouldn’t change any player,” Inzaghi claimed.

“Acerbi is working well and seemed close to returning last Sunday against Empoli, but he still can’t push at full intensity. We don’t want to rush him.

“He won’t be available for Lecce either; he needs to continue working on his own. I’m not worried, though. He’s crucial for us, and he’ll be back soon.”

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has described their upcoming Europa League clash against Sparta Prague as a ‘tough’ game, acknowledging the challenge that lies ahead for his team.

Inzaghi, who took charge of Inter this summer following Antonio Conte’s departure, is well aware of the strength of their opponents and the importance of approaching the game with the right mindset.

However, despite the tough task at hand, Inzaghi is optimistic about his team’s chances and believes that midfielder Nicolo Frattesi could be a key player in helping them secure a positive result.

Frattesi, who joined Inter on loan from Sassuolo this summer, has impressed in his early performances for the club and has shown great potential to make a significant impact in the team.

Inzaghi’s faith in Frattesi gives fans hope that Inter can overcome the challenge posed by Sparta Prague and continue their strong start to the season in Europe.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting Europa League clash and the latest news from Inter Milan. Let’s cheer on the team as they aim for victory!

Inzaghi turns to Cagliari to rediscover the Bull

Italian football legend Filippo Inzaghi has recently been appointed as the new head coach of Torino FC, with hopes of reviving the struggling team’s fortunes in Serie A. With the Granata currently sitting near the bottom of the table, Inzaghi is looking to Cagliari for assistance in turning things around.

Inzaghi has a strong connection with Cagliari, having previously played for the Sardinian club during his illustrious playing career. Known for his prolific goal-scoring ability, Inzaghi is hoping to tap into that same magic as a coach and lead Torino to success.

Cagliari, on the other hand, have been performing well this season under the guidance of coach Walter Mazzarri. With a solid squad and a strong defensive record, Cagliari could provide Inzaghi with valuable insights and strategies to help Torino improve their game.

By leaning on his former club for support, Inzaghi is hoping to bring Torino back to their former glory and secure a successful season in Serie A. Only time will tell if this partnership with Cagliari will be the key to unlocking the Bull’s potential.
