  • Meet Paradise star James Marsden’s famous model son Jack

James Marsden is a proud father of three. The actor – who currently stars in the Hulu hit Paradise – welcomed a son, Jack, 24, and daughter, Mary, 19, with his ex-wife, Lisa Linde. He is also a devoted dad to William, now 10, whom he shares with his former partner, Rose Costa.

While James’ younger children tend to keep a low profile these days, his eldest, Jack, has emerged as a rising star after making his Dolce & Gabbana debut at the age of 16. On hand to support his son, James, 51, was spotted sitting in the front row as Jack walked the runway in 2018. Sharing a photo of the teen, he noted that he “could not be more proud”  of Jack.

Echoing this sentiment in an interview with Men’s Health, James raved: “Is it weird to say my son is the person I wish I was more like?”

“He’s 16 and figuring out his world and who he is and what his strengths are and what his passions are and what he wants to do,” James continued. “This is something that we’re just sort of testing out. … It would have been crazy for me at 16, but nowadays, this is when people start. It’s nuts. But we’re supporting him.”

In the years that have followed, Jack has expanded his horizons, and according to his Instagram bio, works as a producer and musician while running his own at-home recording studio. Appearing on-screen, fans also watched as Jack joined his dad in a 2021 episode of Celebrity IOU Joyride.

Jack isn’t someone who frequently posts on social media, but he has made several red carpet appearances alongside his famous father. Most recently, the 24-year-old joined his dad at The 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards in 2024. Prior to that, he reunited with James for the LA premiere of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (2022).

On the occasions that he does use social media, Jack has shed some light on his sweet bond with James. To mark the A-lister’s birthday in 2023, the former model shared a photo of himself and his sister, Mary, cuddled up with their father.

“Happy birthday dad!! I am so thankful to have you in my life as my dad, but also as a friend and a role model,” he  began.”I’m so proud of you and just always want to see you happy. I love you so much, and I’ll still love you even if you continue to talk to animals in movies. Love you!”

For James, becoming a father has been a wonderful journey, and in a recent interview with Forbes, he was asked what brings him the most passion and purpose. “Oh man! Well, my children do and they always have.

“Time does. I think when you’re younger, you don’t value time as much. I love working, but I’ve been sort of slowly reevaluating how much time I do want to be working and how much time I want to be living,” he noted.

“One of the things that’s in the job description with being an actor is the feeling that you’re never going to work again. That’s been with me for a really, really long time. What that’s caused is a great fortune in a business that’s been very good to me, but a lot of time away – a lot of time traveling, a lot of time working. I feel like, nowadays, I want to really make sure that I insert value in my time, more than just on the work level.”

Meet Jack Marsden, the son of Hollywood heartthrob James Marsden and famous model. Jack has been making waves in the fashion industry with his striking good looks and charming personality.

With his father’s good looks and his mother’s modeling expertise, Jack has quickly become a rising star in the world of fashion. At just 21 years old, he has already walked the runway for some of the biggest names in the industry and graced the pages of top fashion magazines.

But Jack is not just a pretty face. He is also a talented musician, with a passion for playing the guitar and writing his own songs. He has even performed at a few small gigs in Los Angeles, showing off his musical talents to his growing fan base.

Despite his parents’ fame, Jack remains down-to-earth and humble, always grateful for the opportunities he has been given. With his undeniable talent and charm, there is no doubt that Jack Marsden is destined for great things in the world of fashion and entertainment. Keep an eye out for this rising star as he continues to make his mark on the industry.

  • Detroit Tigers still want Alex Bregman after signing Jack Flaherty

The Detroit Tigers are not slowing down in their pursuit of Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman, even after signing pitcher Jack Flaherty to a lucrative contract.

Despite bolstering their pitching staff with Flaherty, the Tigers are still in need of a power hitter like Bregman to boost their offense. Bregman, a two-time All-Star and Silver Slugger winner, would provide a significant upgrade to Detroit’s lineup.

The Tigers have reportedly been in talks with the Astros about a potential trade for Bregman, but no deal has been reached yet. However, the team remains optimistic that they can strike a deal to bring Bregman to Detroit.

With Flaherty solidifying their pitching rotation, adding Bregman to their lineup would make the Tigers a serious contender in the AL Central. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Jack Flaherty contract makes it even more important for Cubs to sign Alex Bregman

It has been a boom and bust sort of offseason for the Chicago Cubs.

We can’t say Jed Hoyer has sat on his hands. The Kyle Tucker was a genuine swing for the fences — the sort of blockbuster Cubs fans pine for. Tucker finished last season with 23 home runs and 4.7 WAR in just 78 games. He’s an MVP candidate at full strength and he offers Chicago a path back to the postseason.

Hoyer even double-dipped on the former Houston Astros champs, working overtime to land Ryan Pressly. It’s fair to express concern about a past-prime closer coming off his worst season in years, but Pressly is a proven winner and he was an All-Star as recently as 2021. He’s a definite upgrade over Hector Neris, right? (Right.)

Chicago feels like the presumptive favorites in a wide-open NL Central. The Brewers are bleeding talent. The Reds are fiesty, but probably not ready. The Cardinals are in open free fall. The Pirates? Well… Bob Nutting still owns the team.

That said, the Cubs aren’t close to the National League heavyweights. The Dodgers are lapping most teams on the raw talent front. Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Arizona all made consequential additions this winter, while New York signed Juan freakin’ Soto to the largest contract in MLB history. Hoyer still has some ground to make up.

So, why not circle back to the available pool of former Astros. Alex Bregman is there for the taking and the Cubs are out of excuses.

For more news and rumors, check out MLB Insider Robert Murray’s work on The Baseball Insiders podcast, subscribe to The Moonshot, our weekly MLB newsletter, and join the discord to get the inside scoop between now and the MLB offseason.

Jack Flaherty inked a two-year, $35 million contract with the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.

So what? How does that impact the Cubs?

Well, that’s incredible value for a World Series champ coming off an incredibly productive campaign. Flaherty, 29, finished the season with a 3.17 ERA and 194 strikeouts before leading an injury-ravaged, patchwork Dodgers rotation to the promised land. He was mostly brilliant in October and put together big outings when LA needed it most.

The Cubs, who need another top-line starter behind Justin Steele and Shota Imanaga, should’ve been all over Flaherty at that price. He clearly loved Detroit, to the point where a hometown discount isn’t out of the question, but the Cubs should have more money to spend than Scott Harris’ small-market Tigers. Flaherty would’ve been a genuine needle-mover for Craig Counsell’s club. There isn’t a better manager in the sport when it comes to maximizing his rotation, assuming he actually has talent to work with.

It’s hard to come up for an excuse for Chicago’s silence on the Flaherty front… unless Bregman is coming down the pipeline. If the Cubs turn around and ink Bregman to a contract, whether it’s three years with an opt out or seven years fully guaranteed, fans will forgive the Flaherty oversight. Bregman has direct connections to Tucker and Pressly, his former teammates, and he’d give the Cubs another impact bat in the middle of a lineup that needs it.

Bregman, Dansby Swanson, Nico Hoerner, and Michael Busch? That’s one heck of an infield. Chicago is not the favorite for Bregman right now, but it’s never too late to get in the mix — until it is.

The recent contract extension of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty has raised the stakes for the Chicago Cubs to secure a long-term deal with star third baseman Alex Bregman. Flaherty’s five-year, $109 million contract sets a new benchmark for young, elite players in the league, and it highlights the importance of locking up key players for the future.

With Flaherty now locked in, the Cubs must prioritize signing Bregman to solidify their lineup and ensure their competitiveness in the National League Central. Bregman, a dynamic hitter and defensive standout, would be a game-changer for the Cubs and could help them maintain their position as contenders in the division.

The Cubs have already made significant moves this offseason, but securing Bregman’s services would be a major statement of their commitment to winning. With Flaherty’s contract serving as a reminder of the rising costs of top talent, the Cubs cannot afford to miss out on the opportunity to sign Bregman and solidify their roster for years to come.

Jack Nicholson and Lara Flynn Boyle’s romance is one Hollywood won’t soon forget.

As each of their careers continued to thrive in the ’90s, they both found themselves making headlines for their on-again, off-again relationship.

Although their love story came to an end in the 2000s, mystery continues to surround the pair’s bond and what exactly led to a breakup. The speculation was amped up in January 2025 when Jack’s daughter Lorraine Nicholson authored a personal essay for Vanity Fair.

In addition to writing about her experience growing up with a famous father, Lorraine also shined a light on Jack’s romance with Boyle. Take a look back at the famous romance that captivated many pop culture fans’ hearts.

Jack Nicholson has welcomed six children with five women over the years — but he has only publicly commented on four of them. Throughout his time in the spotlight, Jack has only married once. He and Sandra Knight tied the knot in 1962 and welcomed daughter Jennifer Nicholson the following year. Once their divorce was […]

    How It Began

According to Jack’s daughter, the actor’s romance with Boyle began with a bang — or a minor car accident in Hollywood.

“One quiet summer night in 1999, the nascent couple was dressed for dinner, the engine of his Mercedes the only sound,” Lorraine wrote in Vanity Fair. “My father moved to make a left on Mulholland from Coldwater, just a quarter mile from our house, when their car collided with another. When Dad finally came to, head dripping blood, he looked up to see Lara crawling out of the sunroof. She reportedly screamed, ‘I can’t be here!’ and abandoned the steaming hunk of metal like it was a dead horse.”

Lorraine first heard about the crash from a mother at school. She later realized her dad wasn’t exactly ready to share his new girlfriend with his family.

As Lorraine explained, “Not knowing the news would be picked up by the tabloids, he wanted to introduce Lara on his own terms.”

    How Long It Lasted

It appears Jack and Boyle’s on-and-off romance lasted nearly seven years. The two were first together from 1999 to 2004 and were later photographed together on vacation in St. Tropez in 2006. Boyle went on to meet her future husband, Donald Ray Thomas, just a few months later.

“That is seven years of great times,” Boyle told People when sharing memories of her romance with Jack. “It’s seven years of wonderful.”

    How It Ended

While Jack and Boyle have kept the reasons behind their breakup private, Lorraine has her own theories.

“Lara’s relationship with my father was a point of no return in which she went from being a woman on the verge of stardom — a person validated for her work — to a mere celebrity,” she wrote in Vanity Fair. “The public became so infatuated with Lara that, like the Eucharist, they swallowed her whole.”

“In reality, I have no clue why my father and Lara broke up,” Lorraine continued. “I don’t know if he cried or if she cried, but I certainly did.”

    What They Say Now

In July 2024, Boyle shared a glimpse into where she stands with Jack. She confirmed to People that the duo still keeps in touch but noted, “We’re not hanging out.”

She said the actor was “a huge part of my life” and described their years together as “great” and “wonderful.”

The actress celebrated her 18th anniversary with her husband in 2024 and said she never dated another Hollywood actor again. As she joked, “I left with a bang when it came to actors.”

Despite the public scrutiny, Boyle and Nicholson seemed to be genuinely smitten with each other. They were often spotted out and about in Los Angeles, attending premieres and events hand in hand.

  • Jack Nicholson’s daughter Lorraine on his relationship with Lara Flynn Boyle

Jack Nicholson’s daughter, Lorraine Nicholson, had her own love story with his ex Lara Flynn Boyle.

Lorraine, 34, wrote an essay for Vanity Fair Friday where she looked back on the special bond she created with Boyle, 54, when the “Twin Peaks” actress dated Jack, 87, from 1999 to 2004.

“For many girls, best friends are their first loves. They spend all their time together. Learn from each other. Protect each other,” Lorraine wrote. “And when the time comes for boys to enter the picture — and a best friend’s attention is split between them and another — it is their first great heartbreak.

“When I was nine, my best friend was 30-year-old ingenue Lara Flynn Boyle,” Lorraine added.

Jack’s daughter recalled how the couple’s relationship “began with a bang” in 1999, when they got into a car accident on Mulholland Drive.

Lorraine explained that at the time, there was “spectacle” over Jack and Boyle’s relationship because they were 33 years apart in age. But according to Lorraine, “no one could see they were actually falling in love.”

Jack eventually introduced Boyle to his six children, including Lorraine, who said it was a moment she’ll “never forget.”

“She came down the outdoor staircase to join us by the pool,” Lorraine recalled of meeting Boyle. “I remember the sun reflecting on the water, the sound of wind chimes in the trees. Most importantly, I remember what Lara wore — a thong bathing suit with flames licking up the crotch. We didn’t have to know she had been nominated for an Emmy that year for her work on ‘The Practice’ for my brother and I to know we were in the presence of a powerful person.”

Lorraine said that she and Boyle connected almost instantly.

“With extrasensory intuition, she sensed I was a self-harmer and told me stories about the time she had to wear knee socks to hide her scratched-up shins,” Lorraine shared, adding that Boyle “made me feel like my pain mattered.”

“While the unavailability of my parents was not exactly rats-in-trash-bags level, I was a kid who felt, despite everything I had materially, there was something missing in my life,” Lorraine continued. “Lara did not belittle these feelings. She told all these stories with a cigarette and a smile, because she was a survivor.”

Lorraine also said that Boyle “acted as a bridge” between Jack and his six children, whom he has with five different women, including Lorraine’s mom, Rebecca Broussard.

“Suddenly, we were doing things we had never done before,” Lorraine remembered. “In Aspen, we went whitewater rafting down the Colorado River. In one particularly traitorous game of Uno, my brother and I kamakazied ourselves so that while we wouldn’t win, my father wouldn’t either. After he stormed out of the room, followed by a trail of very Nicholson obscenities, it was Lara who put a stop to his sulking and lured him back upstairs.”

She added, “Since his relationship with my mom, I had never seen my father with another woman. Like in the ‘Mary Poppins’ films, I understand why it was Lara who sent the other applicants blowing ass-over-heels down the street.”

Lorraine called Jack and Boyle’s relationship “a point of no return” because Boyle “went from being a woman on the verge of stardom — a person validated for her work — to a mere celebrity.”

Jack and Boyle split in 2004 — and Lorraine said she still has “no clue why.”

“I don’t know if he cried or if she cried, but I certainly did,” Lorraine wrote. “I woke one snowy winter morning at our house in Aspen and she had just — vanished.

“I’d known my father’s relationship with Lara couldn’t last forever, and yet when I was with her, I had no clue what I would do without her,” she said.

At the end of her essay, Lorraine wrote, “For this article, I asked Lara if I could see her for the first time in more than 20 years to talk about the time we shared. She declined.”

“Of course, this feels like being rejected by Mommy,” she said. “But the truth is, whether I see Lara again or not is almost irrelevant, because I carry so much of her in me.”

Boyle, who has been married to Texas real estate developer Donald Ray Thomas II since 2006, made a rare comment about Nicholson in an interview with People last year.

She said the exes still keep in touch, but “we’re not hanging out.”

“The world of Jack is always here,” said Boyle. “There’s no retiring for the world of Jack. Never.”

Jack Nicholson’s daughter Lorraine opens up about his relationship with Lara Flynn Boyle

In a recent interview, Lorraine Nicholson, the daughter of Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson, revealed her thoughts on her father’s highly publicized relationship with actress Lara Flynn Boyle. Lorraine, who is also an actress herself, spoke candidly about the challenges her family faced during that time.

“It was definitely a difficult period for all of us,” Lorraine said. “My dad is a private person, and having his personal life splashed across the tabloids was tough for him. But he handled it with grace and dignity.”

Lorraine went on to explain that despite the media frenzy surrounding their relationship, her father and Boyle remained close friends even after they parted ways. “They have a lot of respect for each other, and they still have a good relationship,” she said.

As for how the experience has shaped her own views on relationships and fame, Lorraine said, “It taught me the importance of staying true to yourself and not letting outside influences dictate your happiness. My dad has always been a great example of that.”

Overall, Lorraine’s reflections on her father’s relationship with Boyle shed light on the complexities of navigating love and fame in the spotlight. It’s clear that the Nicholson family has weathered their fair share of challenges, but they emerged stronger and closer as a result.

  • Jack Nicholson’s Daughter Recalls Dad’s Romance with Lara Flynn Boyle

Jack Nicholson’s daughter Lorraine Nicholson is reflecting on her dad’s relationship with Lara Flynn Boyle and the positive influence the actress had on the family dynamic.

In a recent essay for Vanity Fair, Lorraine recalled being a child when her father, now 87, romanced the former Twin Peaks star, now 54, in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

“I’ll never forget the first day Lara was introduced to us children. She came down the outdoor staircase to join us by the pool. I remember the sun reflecting on the water, the sound of wind chimes in the trees,” Nicholson, now 34, wrote of the encounter with the bikini-clad Boyle at the family home in Los Angeles.

“We didn’t have to know she had been nominated for an Emmy that year for her work on The Practice for my brother and I to know we were in the presence of a powerful person,” continued Lorraine, whose mother, Rebecca Broussard, was in a relationship with Nicholson from 1989 to 1994. (Nicholson and Broussard also share a son, actor Ray Nicholson, 32.)

Lorraine recalled her father’s house being the opposite of her mother’s loud, boisterous home. “We lived among an almost mausoleum-level quiet. By his own admission, my dad had a hard time connecting to us as children — though he loved beautiful women, he had no interest in playing with dolls,” she wrote.

Enter Boyle — aka “the Mary Poppins of Mulholland Drive” — who played Barbie dolls with Lorraine and slept in the same room if the young girl had bad dreams.

Boyle, a “gangly Irish American” who was picked apart in the press for her appearance, also helped Lorraine deal with her own insecurities at an impressionable age: “Lara taught me that much like femininity, adolescence can be depressing and confusing, but it can also be full of freedom and unencumbered play.”

Their play also extended to family time. “For my father, Lara acted as a bridge between him and his children. Suddenly, we were doing things we had never done before. In Aspen, we went whitewater rafting down the Colorado River. We cackled wildly while playing Parcheesi. In one particularly traitorous game of Uno, my brother and I kamakazied ourselves so that while we wouldn’t win, my father wouldn’t either,” she recalled.

“After he stormed out of the room, followed by a trail of very Nicholson obscenities, it was Lara who put a stop to his sulking and lured him back upstairs,” added Lorraine.

Lorraine knew even at that young age that the relationship between her father and Boyle wouldn’t stand the test of time. “And yet when I was with her, I had no clue what I would do without her,” she wrote.

The relationship did indeed come to an end, severing Lorraine’s ties, too. According to the writer, they have not seen each other for more than 20 years, but Boyle’s influence left a mark on Lorraine.

“I carry so much of her in me,” she wrote. “When she descended from the sky with her magic carpet bag, I was still figuring out the type of woman I wanted to be. In Lara, I saw characteristics that I liked— her irreverent sense of humor, her refusal to conform, her compassion for the underdog — and made them my own.”

Jack Nicholson’s daughter, Jennifer Nicholson, recently opened up about her father’s past romance with actress Lara Flynn Boyle in a candid interview. The two Hollywood stars dated back in the early 2000s, sparking headlines and speculation among fans and media alike.

In the interview, Jennifer shared her perspective on her father’s relationship with Boyle, describing it as a “complicated” and “intense” romance. She reflected on the challenges her father faced in balancing his personal life with his career and fame, and how his relationships often played out in the public eye.

Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, Jennifer expressed admiration for Boyle and the impact she had on her father during their time together. She highlighted the mutual respect and understanding the two shared, despite the challenges they faced as a couple.

As fans of Jack Nicholson and Lara Flynn Boyle continue to reminisce about their relationship, Jennifer’s insights offer a unique glimpse into the private lives of these two iconic Hollywood figures. Their romance may have been fleeting, but its lasting impact on both Nicholson and Boyle is undeniable.

  • TCU WR Jack Bech, inspired by his brother’s memory, chases NFL dreams at Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. — A highlight-reel play at a Senior Bowl practice can put a draft prospect on everyone’s radar, lift his draft stock or elevate him to a new level, still months before picks are made in April.

For Jack Bech, it also helped him grieve.

The play was a long throw from Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe down the right sideline, perhaps a bit underthrown. Bech, a 6-foot-2 receiver from TCU, came back, turned around and made a leaping catch with two defenders on him.

He did it wearing an orange No. 7 jersey, not the No. 18 he wore at TCU while enjoying a breakout 2024 season, with 62 catches for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns.

This week, he’s wearing his brother’s number.

Martin “Tiger” Bech, 27, a former Princeton receiver and New York stockbroker, was killed in the Bourbon Street attack in New Orleans in the early hours of New Year’s Day, one of 14 victims as a man drove a truck through a crowd. This week is the first time Jack has had the chance to return to the normalcy of football, playing in the showcase game for NFL prospects.

“Me and my family have definitely felt all the love and support from everybody, and it’s really helped us try to make the most out of this situation,” said Bech, who is from nearby Lafayette, La., and will have 30-plus family members and friends cheering for him at Saturday’s game.

Bech (rhymes with “mesh”) isn’t the only Senior Bowl player who will pay tribute to Martin at the game. Every player on both teams will have a sticker on the back of his helmet, with the number 7 in orange-and-black tiger stripes.

Bech also has a more permanent reminder of his brother. As he talked to reporters on the field after practice, he took the jersey off, showing a pair of new tattoos. The first, on his collarbone under his left shoulder, reads “7 To Heaven” in script, and over his heart, he has in Roman numerals the dates of his brother’s birth and death: “I.XVIII.MCMXCVII-I.I.MMXXV.”

“I’ve got angel wings on me,” Bech said when asked about wearing his brother’s number. “I’ve got the greatest guardian angel of them all, pulling me to where I am now. This was his last test for me, knowing if I can get past this, anything that’s thrown at me will be nothing compared to this.”

Jack Bech shows reporters the tattoos on his chest that he got in remembrance of his slain brother.

It has been a difficult month for Bech, dealing with the sudden loss of his brother, but it’s also given him a new sense of gratitude for the time he has, for the privilege to play the game he loves, knowing how quickly things can be taken away. This week is his best chance to convince the NFL he’s talented enough to continue playing on Sundays this fall and beyond.

“I’m so blessed to be in a position to be in front of these teams, so I love this,” Bech said. “I wake up every morning and I thank God for putting me in this position, to make the most of every opportunity I get.”

Bech is seen as a mid-round draft prospect, with physical play, sharp route-running and the skill to make contested catches in the air like the one he made Wednesday. Catching passes is a family business — Jack and Martin’s uncle, Brett, played receiver at LSU and for three seasons with the Saints from 1997-99.

A year ago, Bech wasn’t on the radar of the NFL or the Senior Bowl, having totaled four touchdowns in his first three years of college, including two at LSU. But he emerged in a big way, especially in the second half of the season, totaling 647 yards and six touchdowns in the final five games. In TCU’s season finale, he caught a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to give the Horned Frogs the lead for good in a win over Stanford. That led to him declaring as an underclassmen for the draft, and Saturday is his big chance to introduce himself to the NFL.

“I want teams to know there’s a high level to my game speed. I can stretch the field,” he said. “I know the game super well, all the little nuances, being able to attack coverages. No matter who steps in front of me, I don’t flinch and give it my best every time.”

TCU wide receiver Jack Bech has always had a special motivation driving him to succeed on the football field: his late brother’s memory.

Bech’s older brother, a talented football player himself, tragically passed away before he could fulfill his own dreams of playing in the NFL. This loss has fueled Bech’s determination to not only honor his brother’s memory, but to also chase his own dreams of making it to the next level.

Now, Bech is showcasing his skills at the Senior Bowl, hoping to catch the eye of NFL scouts and coaches. With his speed, route-running ability, and strong hands, he has already impressed many with his performance on the field.

But for Bech, this isn’t just about football. It’s about carrying on his brother’s legacy and making him proud. As he continues to chase his NFL dreams, he knows that his brother will always be watching over him, cheering him on every step of the way.

Stay tuned as Jack Bech continues to make his mark at the Senior Bowl and beyond, inspired by the memory of his beloved brother. The NFL may be his next destination, but his brother’s spirit will always be his guiding light.

  • Jack Bech honoring late brother, Tiger, at the Senior Bowl | Saints

MOBILE, Ala. — Jack Bech has two new tattoos.

On his left breast is a series of roman numerals — I.XXVIII.MCMXCVII — I.I.MMXXV. Above that, in flowy script near his collarbone, reads “7 to Heaven.”

Jack Bech is here at the Senior Bowl, one of the premier NFL prospect showcases, to prove he belongs. In front of coaches, scouts and team executives, the Lafayette native and TCU receiver has impressed throughout the week with his toughness and skill. A good week could go a long way toward making his childhood dreams come true.

It would have been understandable if he was not here, though. Understandable, maybe, to everyone but the person to whom those tattoos are dedicated. Jack’s older brother, Martin “Tiger” Bech, was one of 14 people who were killed during the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans earlier this month.

“My brother, if he could tell me one thing, it would be to get my ass ready, to keep on going, to keep pushing,” Bech said. “It’s just given me that extra motivation to come out here and chase greatness each day in his name and continue to live his legacy.”

Navigating this tragedy has obviously been difficult for Jack and the Bech family. And, for Jack, being in Mobile this week has meant answering a lot of questions about his brother, often with a microphone in his face. He has patiently handled all of it, using this as an opportunity to tell anyone who will listen how much his brother meant to him, and to tell them that it his faith that is allowing him to carry on.

“My best friend, my role model, the person I looked up to, the person I called first with good or bad news,” Jack said. “It’s definitely been hard, but God has built me up for this moment.”

The numerals on Jack’s tattoo represent the day Tiger was born and the day he died. The “7 to Heaven” is a nod to Tiger’s football uniform number, which he wore at Princeton.

“It’s only on the left side of my body, because he was my other half,” Jack said. “It was just something for me to be able to know and show he’s always going to be with me forever in every second of every moment. That’s just one of the ways I’m going to honor him.”

Seven has been a prominent number this week. Jim Nagy, the Senior Bowl’s executive director, has made sure of that.

Every player on the field this week has worn a special decal on the back of their helmet, featuring a tiger-striped number 7. And Nagy also made sure that Jack, who wore No. 18 at TCU, would get to honor his brother by wearing No. 7 this week.

“An amazing touch,” Jack said of the decal. “The love and support that Mr. Jim Nagy has given me and my family, giving me (No.) 7, to let me do all these things, it’s really been special.”

And Jack has made sure to make that No. 7 stand out, too.

He has been one of the most impressive players in practices this week, assembling an impressive highlight reel loaded with him consistently winning his one-on-one opportunities and making contested catches.

Playing football has, in a way, been therapeutic for Jack.

“I can get on this field and let my emotions run. Everything that has been built up inside of me, I can just let it loose out there on that field. I can be me. I can show people my inner self, which has been awesome. I do it all in my brother’s name, my family’s name, that’s who I do it for.”

He’s earned himself quite a few fans, including his offensive coordinator this week, New York Giants running backs coach Joel Thomas.

“I think he’s awesome,” Thomas said. “I’ve got a little crush on him, because he’s tough, he’s got personality, he checks all those things that are off the field. … He’s out here balling in practice and everything. I love the energy he brings. Whoever gets a hold of him, they have a positive player and somebody that can help his team overall.”

As Thomas said that, Jack was standing maybe 20 feet away, answering questions in an interview on the field with his shirt off, prominently displaying his new tattoos. He is making a name for himself, and in the process he is making sure everyone knows Tiger’s name, too.

Jack Bech, a standout wide receiver for the LSU Tigers, made a touching tribute to his late brother, Tiger, during the Senior Bowl. Tiger, who tragically passed away last year, was a huge influence in Jack’s life and football career.

During the Senior Bowl game, Jack wore a special patch on his jersey with the initials “TB” in honor of his brother. He also dedicated every catch he made during the game to Tiger’s memory.

In a post-game interview, Jack spoke about the impact his brother had on his life and how he continues to inspire him on and off the field. “Tiger was my biggest supporter and motivator. I know he was watching over me during the game, and I wanted to make him proud,” Jack said.

The New Orleans Saints, who have been following Jack’s career closely, expressed their condolences for his loss and praised him for his strength and resilience. They have since reached out to Jack to offer their support and assistance as he navigates this difficult time.

Jack’s tribute to Tiger at the Senior Bowl was a beautiful display of love and remembrance. His brother’s spirit will continue to live on through Jack’s accomplishments on the football field and beyond.

  • Senior Bowl Notebook | TCU WR Jack Bech, Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart & More

    More Than a System QB
Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, although he played at a high level in the SEC, feels like he’s been miscast as a system quarterback.

“I played in the Wing T for three years, I was in a huddle,” he said. “Every play I took a snap under center for three years. I went to corner Canyon High School [in Draper, UT] for my senior year and that was more spread. I went to USC my first year where I played in the air raid. Then my sophomore year, transferred to Ole Miss, got introduced to the RPO game, hardcore play action, deep shots, top-down reads. Me and [offensive coordinator Charlie [Weis Jr.] and [Lane] Kiffin would talk about how we’re a tempo, pro-style team. So, quite honestly, I feel like I’ve kind of done it all.

“I’ve had success everywhere I’ve been. It shows I’m adaptable and can make things happen in whatever offense that I play in.”

Dart leaves college with several of the Rebels’ records including passing yards, 300-yard passing games, rushing yards by a QB and most wins by a starting quarterback. He also led the SEC last season with a 69.3% completion percentage, 4,279 yards and 329.2 yards per game. His 180.7 pass efficiency rating and 10.8 yards per attempt led the FBS.

Dart mentioned three quarterbacks as the most influential to his game and they all, coincidentally, have participated in the Senior Bowl — Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts.

“Those are three guys that I love to watch and how much passion they play the game with,” he said.

The Senior Bowl is in full swing, and there are plenty of standout performances to take note of. Here are some players who have caught the eye of scouts and analysts:

    1. TCU WR Jack Bech – Bech has been turning heads with his crisp route running and strong hands. He has shown the ability to make tough catches in traffic and has displayed good separation from defenders. Bech could be a sleeper pick in the upcoming draft.

    2. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart – Dart has been impressive in practice, showing off his strong arm and quick release. He has been accurate on his throws and has shown good decision making under pressure. Dart could be a name to watch as a potential late-round steal.

    3. Georgia CB Derion Kendrick – Kendrick has been locking down receivers in practice, using his physicality and speed to disrupt passing lanes. He has shown good instincts and ball skills, making him a potential early-round pick.

    4. Utah RB Tavion Thomas – Thomas has been showcasing his power and explosiveness in practice, breaking tackles and showing good burst through the hole. He has also been effective as a pass catcher out of the backfield, making him a versatile weapon for any offense.

Overall, the Senior Bowl has been a showcase for some of the top talent in college football, and these players have certainly made the most of their opportunity to shine. Keep an eye on these names as the draft approaches.
