  • NFL News: Lamar Jackson star Ravens teammate claims Josh Allen, Bills were ‘robbed’ against Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills made a statement by defeating Lamar Jackson‘s Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL playoffs. But once again, they failed to get past Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Only three points separated Allen and company from Super Bowl LIX, though some feel that the result would’ve been different had the referees granted a critical first down to the Bills early in the fourth quarter.

One of Jackson’s best teammates, for instance, went as far as suggesting that Buffalo was ‘robbed’ on that play. We’re talking about Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who shared his thoughts on social media.

They lowkey did rob the Bills from the 4th down conversion. Josh definitely crossed the line,” Humphrey wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), in reference to a quarterback sneak by Allen that turned the ball over to the Chiefs on downs.

The call that affected Allen, Bills against the Chiefs

The play in question took place with 13:01 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Bills, leading 22-21 in the game, faced a fourth-and-one situation at Kansas City’s 41-yard line. Sean McDermott decided to keep the offensive unit on the field to try and get the first down with Allen’s legs.

As the Chiefs defense stopped Allen near the line of scrimmage, the refs considered that the Bills quarterback fell short of yards. After watching a replay, even though the images still looked unclear, the NFL officiating crew stood by its original decision.

It’s safe to say it may have been a game-changing moment, as Mahomes went on to score a rushing touchdown in the following drive, putting the Chiefs in front by 29-22 after a successful two-point conversion pass.

Allen orchestrated a nine-play, 70-yard touchdown drive in the Bills’ next possession to tie the score, but Kansas City responded with the field goal that ended up making the difference at Arrowhead.

McDermott believes Allen got the first down in Kansas City

Speaking to reporters after his team’s loss, McDermott let everyone know that, even though he wasn’t sure about which angles were used in the replay, he thought that Allen got the first down.

I thought he had it. Just short of the line was actually the first down, what it looked like to me when it was sitting next to me with the marker, just inside that white stripe was the first down and it looked like he got to it. That’s all I can say,” McDermott stated.

For many, this call will go down as a big “what if” in the Bills’ season. Either way, it would be unfair to take credit away from the Chiefs. At the end of the day, Mahomes is still unbeaten against Allen in four playoff games. And now he’s chasing a third consecutive Super Bowl win.

In a recent interview, star Baltimore Ravens teammate of Lamar Jackson, Marlon Humphrey, expressed his belief that the Buffalo Bills were “robbed” in their AFC Championship game against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Humphrey, who is known for his outspoken nature, did not hold back in his assessment of the controversial calls made during the game.

Many fans and analysts have pointed to a crucial pass interference call that was not called on a crucial fourth down play late in the game as a key moment that could have changed the outcome. Humphrey echoed these sentiments, stating that he believes the Bills were unfairly disadvantaged by the officiating.

Despite the controversy surrounding the game, the Chiefs emerged victorious and advanced to the Super Bowl, where they will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bills, on the other hand, will have to regroup and look towards next season.

As the NFL offseason approaches, it will be interesting to see how the league addresses issues of officiating and fairness in games. In the meantime, fans can expect more drama and excitement as the Super Bowl approaches.

  • The only on-screen death Samuel L Jackson refuses to accept

Samuel L Jackson has delivered some of the most memorable movie deaths in cinema history. Joe Pesci’s Tommy DeVito took him out in Goodfellas, while his demise at the hands of Emperor Palpatine marked a pivotal moment in the Star Wars prequel series. He was infamously devoured by a poorly rendered CGI shark in Deep Blue Sea, and sticking with computer-generated creatures, he met his end under the weight of none other than King Kong in 2017’s Kong: Skull Island.

If you ask a movie fan to name their favourite Jackson death, they might just say the one from Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster supreme, Jurassic Park. His character, Ray Arnold, goes on a mission to reset the facility’s security systems. Later, when Laura Dern’s Dr Ellie Sattler goes after her, she thinks she feels him putting his arm on her shoulder, only for it to be brilliantly revealed that a pack of velociraptors has torn off the limb. It’s a very memorable end – just not if you ask the man himself.

“I got killed in Jurassic Park. Well, they say I got killed,” he told GQ. “I still got this thing in my head where dude’s got one arm, and he’s around here riding around on Velociraptors. He made peace with them and figured out how to use them to his advantage or whatever.” An interesting theory from Jackson there, definitely not one that Michael Crichton ever followed up on in the original novel.

The star has some grounds to make this outlandish claim, as Arnold’s ‘death’ isn’t actually shown on screen. There were plans to film a longer, more elaborate scene depicting the character’s demise, but a hurricane destroyed the planned set. He features more prominently in the book than he does in the film, but Jackson was still able to make a splash with the minutes he was given. “Hold onto your butts” is one of the actor’s most quotable lines, to the point where it’s easy to forget that it actually comes from Jurassic Park

Spielberg’s prehistoric adventure was one of the earliest big movies Jackson starred in. He had established himself somewhat with brief appearances in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing and the Harrison Ford vehicle Patriot Games, but he wasn’t the household name he is today. Pulp Fiction, the movie that really made him a star, was still a year away. Being involved in Jurassic Park, even very briefly, was massive for the late bloomer’s rise. It became the highest-grossing movie of all time, marking the first (but not the last) time Jackson contributed to a financial juggernaut.

Ray Arnold isn’t the only character that Jackson thinks survived a run-in with the movie’s baddie. When asked by Entertainment Weekly if he thought Mace Windu was still alive in the ‘Star Wars’ universe, he replied, “Of course he is! Jedi can fall from amazing distances. And there’s a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?” In a franchise that is obsessed with bringing characters back from the dead, it’s amazing Windu hasn’t resurfaced since his presumed demise in 2005.

Whilst Arnold is almost certainly actually dead, the series is still alive and well thanks to the ‘Jurassic World’ movies. Maybe there is a chance we could see him crop up again – it’s not likely, but it is possible.

The only on-screen death Samuel L Jackson refuses to accept: Mace Windu’s demise in Star Wars.

Samuel L Jackson is known for his iconic roles and memorable performances, but there is one on-screen death that he simply cannot accept – the death of Mace Windu in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

In the film, Mace Windu, a Jedi Master played by Jackson, meets his end at the hands of Darth Sidious after a fierce battle. However, Jackson has expressed his disbelief and disappointment over the character’s fate, even going so far as to suggest that Mace Windu could have survived the fall and returned in future films.

Fans have also rallied behind Jackson’s sentiment, with many speculating about the possibility of Mace Windu making a comeback in the Star Wars universe. Whether or not this will happen remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – Samuel L Jackson will always refuse to accept the death of Mace Windu on-screen.

  • The one role Samuel L Jackson would love to reprise

Samuel L Jackson is no stranger to reprising his most beloved roles in sequels. After all, this man will have played Nick Fury in approximately 642 Marvel movies by the time it’s all said and done. In all seriousness, though, Jackson has also played Elijah ‘Mr Glass’ Price in Unbreakable and Glass, Mace Windu in the Star Wars prequels, Agent Augustus Gibbons in two XXX movies, and Darius Kincaid in two Hitman’s Bodyguard pictures. OK, so maybe he’ll reprise some of his less beloved roles, too, if the price is right. There is one part that Jackson has always wanted to return to, though, and it’s never come to pass despite the star pushing for it over the years.

In the mid-1990s, Jackson was experiencing the first few years of superstardom. He’d blasted into the public consciousness with Pulp Fiction in 1994, then followed that up by starring with Bruce Willis again in Die Hard with a Vengeance. A supporting turn in Joel Schumacher’s hit legal thriller A Time to Kill was next, followed by a charismatic co-lead role in the Shane Black-scripted action comedy The Long Kiss Goodnight.

Fascinatingly, Jackson pursued Long Kiss hard after reading the script and loving the fast-talking character of Private Eye Mitch Hennessey. However, he was repeatedly turned down by the studio despite telling his agent multiple times to insist to the executives that he wanted to read for the role. Frustrated and confused, Jackson took the opportunity to corner Long Kiss director Renny Harlin and star Geena Davis at a Hollywood soiree. He told Vulture that he asked, “Hey man, why won’t you let me read for your movie?”

To Jackson’s surprise, Harlin simply looked bemused and asked him to clarify what he meant by that question. Jackson said, “Yeah. The Long Kiss Goodnight, they won’t let me come in.” It turned out that Harlin had no idea Jackson wanted to audition, but now that he knew, he asked, “You want be in the movie?” When Jackson replied with an exasperated “Yeah!” Harlin told him, “You’re in the movie.” Sure enough, without having to audition or read for the part, an offer was on Jackson’s desk the following week.

Jackson later found out that the studio was nervous about him playing the role because, in the script’s first draft, Hennessey and Davis’ Charly Baltimore had a much more romantic relationship. Or, as Jackson eloquently put it, “He literally fucked her in the first script. Or she fucked him.” At this time in Hollywood, mixed-race romantic encounters on-screen were not the norm, so when Jackson came on board, the romance subplot was excised.

Amazingly, Jackson didn’t let this queasy example of Hollywood’s institutional racism put him off the film, which shows just how much he loved Hennessey. Amusingly, though, Jackson wasn’t the only person who loved the wise-cracking sleuth with a heart of gold – audiences did, too. When Harlin previewed an early cut of Long Kiss that saw Hennessey perish at the end, an audience member yelled, “You can’t kill Sam Jackson!” Mercifully, the ending was rewritten to have Hennessey survive.

To Jackson’s chagrin, though, Long Kiss didn’t set the box office on fire. It wasn’t a flop by any means, but it didn’t make enough to immediately justify the sequel he wanted to star in so badly. In 2018, he revealed the film is his favourite of his own movies to watch, and in 2015, he told Vulture, “Long Kiss is an awesome movie. And I still love Mitch Hennessy. I’d do a Mitch Hennessy movie in a minute.”

In fact, Jackson had pondered a vague plot for a potential sequel in which Charly’s grown-up daughter wants to know more about her homemaker/secret assassin mother – so she tracks down Hennessey, the one man who can give her answers. When Vulture pointed out that another Top Gun movie was in the works decades after the original, Jackson grinned with renewed hope and exclaimed, “Come find Mitch. Come find Mitch Hennessey!”

Samuel L. Jackson has played a wide range of iconic roles throughout his career, but there is one character that he would love to reprise more than any other: Mace Windu.

The Jedi Master, known for his purple lightsaber and no-nonsense attitude, was a fan-favorite character in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Despite his seemingly fatal fall in Revenge of the Sith, Jackson has expressed interest in returning to the role in some capacity.

In an interview, Jackson revealed that he would love to see Mace Windu’s backstory explored further in a standalone film or series. He believes there is still much to learn about the character and his experiences as a Jedi Master.

Fans have long speculated about the possibility of Mace Windu making a surprise return in future Star Wars projects, and Jackson’s enthusiasm for the role only adds fuel to the fire.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s clear that Samuel L. Jackson would jump at the chance to once again wield his lightsaber and bring Mace Windu back to the big screen. And fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to see him reprise the role of the legendary Jedi Master.

  • Sources: Bucks’ Andre Jackson Jr. commits to dunk contest

Milwaukee Bucks forward Andre Jackson Jr. has committed to the slam dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Thursday.

Jackson, a 2023 NCAA champion at UConn, has emerged as a Bucks starter in his second season. He joins Chicago Bulls rookie forward Matas Buzelis and San Antonio Spurs rookie guard Stephon Castle so far in the dunk contest.

Jackson made highlight reels last season for his leaping ability on putback dunk attempts. He had his teammates jumping off the bench following a dunk in December against the Nets and then his head went above the rim on a missed putback opportunity last March against the Kings.

Milwaukee is 23-16 when Jackson plays and 20-11 since he joined the starting lineup, adding youthful energy to a veteran team. Per ESPN Research, Jackson has held opponents to 42% as the contesting defender, which ranks in the top 50 leaguewide (minimum 200 contests).

According to sources close to the Milwaukee Bucks, rookie forward Andre Jackson Jr. has officially committed to participating in the upcoming NBA Dunk Contest. The high-flying rookie has been turning heads with his explosive athleticism and highlight-reel dunks throughout the season, and fans are eager to see what he can bring to the competition.

Stay tuned for more updates on the NBA Dunk Contest and Andre Jackson Jr.’s participation as the event approaches. #Bucks #AndreJacksonJr #DunkContest

    The kids are alright.

On Friday at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, amateurs Luke Clanton and Jackson Koivun made the cut. There were among the 70 golfers who have advanced to the final two rounds at Torrey Pines.

The PGA Tour notes that it’s “the first time in the last 55 years that two amateurs have made the cut at this event in a single year.”

Clanton is a junior at Florida State and Koivun is a sophomore at Auburn. By virtue of making the cut, they are both one step closer to securing status on the PGA Tour. When they each decide to turn pro remains to be seen but they now have 18 points in the PGA Tour University Accelerated program, which awards Tour cards for collegiate amateurs. The magic number is 20 and a recent rule change might make it so each gets there by the event’s conclusion Saturday evening as a top-five finish would mean two more points.
