Both forward Xavier Booker and point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. are listed as questionable as the ninth-ranked Spartans host Oregon at Breslin Center. Coach Tom Izzo on his pregame radio show said Fears is unlikely to play, while Booker is possible for the noon tipoff (Fox).
“The strength in numbers,” Izzo said, “we’ll find out how strong they are.”
Izzo said freshman Jase Richardson will make his first career start for MSU, “so we keep the guard thing pretty evenly rotated.”
Fears, who has started all 22 games this season, is averaging 6.2 points, 6.2 assists and two rebounds a game. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound redshirt freshman missed all but 10 games last year after being shot in after Christmas in 2023.
Booker has come off the bench the last 19 games after starting the first three. The 6-11, 240-pound sophomore averages 6.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game.
Richardson, a 6-3 combo guard, is second on MSU at 9.3 points per game while shooting 40% from 3-point range and 52.3% overall. He also adds 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game.

Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears Jr. and Xavier Booker are likely to be out for their upcoming game against Oregon. This news comes as a blow to the Spartans, as both players have been key contributors to the team this season. Media Res is producing the series. Amanda Kate Shuman is set to serve as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Oliver Hermanus will direct and executive produce. Aciman will executive produce along with White.
Acimon previously wrote the novel Call Me By Your Name, which was adapted into the Oscar-nominated film starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer.
White has won two Emmys and three Golden Globes for his starring role as Carmy on FX’s The Bear.

Aciman released Enigma Variations around the same time that Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name film came out — 10 years after the original novel was published. Following the critical acclaim for the Academy Award-nominated movie, Timothée Chalamet became a household name around the world and one of Hollywood’s A-list actors.
The official synopsis of Enigma Variations describes that the novel centers on Paul, a man “whose loves remain as consuming and as covetous throughout his adulthood as they were in his adolescence. Whether the setting is southern Italy, where as a boy he has a crush on his parents’ cabinetmaker, or a snowbound campus in New England, where his enduring passion for a girl he’ll meet again and again over the years is punctuated by anonymous encounters with men.
“Whether he’s on a tennis court in Central Park, or on a New York sidewalk in early spring, his attachments are ungraspable, transient, and forever underwritten by raw desire — not for just one person’s body but, inevitably, for someone else’s as well,” the synopsis concludes.
Despite having already built a significant fan base from playing Lip Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless, White’s career skyrocketed after playing Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto on FX’s The Bear. Since then, White has starred in projects like Fremont, Fingernails, and The Iron Claw.
This Netflix series adaptation of Enigma Variations has Amanda Kate Shuman (The Blacklist) attached as showrunner and executive producer, according to Variety‘s report. Other names working on the project include Oliver Hermanus (Moffie, Living) as director. It’s also noteworthy that both Aciman (book author) and White (lead actor) are reportedly attached to the show as executive producers.

Jeremy Allen White is attached to star in and executive produce a Netflix limited series adaptation of the André Aciman novel “Enigma Variations,” Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
The project is currently in development at the streamer. Should it move forward, this would be the second onscreen adaptation of one of Aciman’s novels. Previously, his novel “Call Me by Your Name” was turned into a critically-acclaimed film starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer with James Ivory writing and Luca Guadagnino directing. The film received four Oscar nominations upon its release, with Ivory winning for best adapted screenplay.
Amanda Kate Shuman is attached to serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on “Enigma Variations,” with Oliver Hermanus set to direct and executive produce. Aciman will executive produce along with White, with Media Res producing. Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer will executive produce on behalf of Media Res.
Reps for Netflix declined to comment.
White will star as the main character, Paul. The official description of the novel states:

White currently stars on the hit FX series “The Bear,” for which he has won two Emmys and three Golden Globes to date. The fourth season of the series is currently in the works. White is also well known for playing Philip “Lip” Gallagher in the Showtime series “Shameless” across its entire 11-season run at the premium cabler. His film credits include “The Iron Claw” and upcoming films like the Bruce Springsteen biopic “Deliver Me from Nowhere” as well as “The Mandalorian & Grogu.”
He is repped by WME, Entertainment 360, and Hansen Jacobson.
Shuman was most recently a writer and executive producer on the Amazon epic fantasy series “The Wheel of Time.” She has also worked on shows like “Berlin Station,” “Tell Me Your Secrets,” “The Blacklist,” and “Chuck.” She is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
Hermanus is known for writing and directing the features “Shirley Adams,” “Beauty,” “The Endless River,” and “Moffie.” He also directed the film “Living” starring Bill Nighy and recently helmed multiple episodes of the Sky Atlantic-Starz series “Mary & George.” He most recently shot the film “The History of Sound” starring Josh O’Connor and Paul Mescal, which is awaiting a premiere date. He repped by LARK, UTA, and Granderson Des Rochers.
For Media Res, this is their second project at Netflix to reported recently. In September 2024, it was revealed that the company was producing a corporate thriller series set in Silicon Valley at the streamer with Rosamund Pike attached to star. That project, titled “Thumblite,” was given a straight-to-series order. Media Res’ current slate also includes the Apple TV+ shows “The Morning Show” and “Pachinko.”

The Detroit Red Wings have certainly seen multiple changes since their last matchup with the Kings on November 16th. The team has gone 10-4-1 since the coaching change, but more importantly there are players who seem to have moved forward. Johansson was recently praised by coach McLellan as the player that has surprised him the most. The previously “shelved” blue liner has shown improved play in all 3 zones, the coach opined.
With the type of in net performance Talbot put in against Tampa but a normally hot power play stymied it seems difficult to compare the group that Los Angeles will face based on the performance that fans witnessed in the last meeting. The team’s needs to play hard but disciplined to maximize the opportunity to be on the man advantage. Soderblom has been all around the net during this callup and it would be nice to see the big man get on the board.
The team’s win against Tampa wasn’t solely based on goaltending, but the last period saw Talbot shut down multiple grade A chances. The defense (opinion) on the PK did a better job with the defender down low in terms of opposing players getting behind them. The power play seems to get good zone time even on sequences that don’t result in a goal.
It will be interesting to see if this team can reverse their previous fortunes against the Kings. As always let me know your thoughts and what you expect to see.

Jeremy Renner has used a hyperbaric chamber while recovering from his near-fatal snowplow accident.
The 54-year-old actor broke 38 bones in his body in the accident in January 2023, and he’s now revealed via social media that he’s turned to oxygen therapy to help with his recovery.
Alongside a photo of himself inside the hyperbaric chamber, Jeremy wrote on Instagram: “Taking care of business; this office of mine has been such a blessing and absolute champion for wellness…. Hyperbaric at 2 atmos has been a staple in my life for 20 months now. 02 is essential for our life and our longevity…. Pull up a chair and let’s discuss all things good in life today !!! #MyNextBreath (sic)”
Earlier this month, Jeremy expressed his gratitude for the “army of people” who helped him to recover from his accident.
The Hollywood star took to social media to mark the two-year anniversary of his accident in Reno, when he was struck by a snowplow and left in a critical condition.
Alongside a throwback photo of the doctors and nurses who helped him with his recovery, Jeremy wrote on Instagram: “Happy New Year blessings to you all…. Ringing in my second “ReBirthday” today

The actor, 54, will open up about his 2023 near-fatal snowplow accident in his forthcoming memoir, My Next Breath, which will hit shelves this spring from Flatiron Books.
Described as “gripping” and “inspiring” by its publisher, the book will feature Renner’s firsthand account of the accident as well the lessons he has learned through his recovery.
“Jeremy writes in blistering detail about his accident and the aftermath,” the synopsis reads. “This retelling is not merely a gruesome account of what happened to him; it’s a call to action and a forged companionship between reader and author as Jeremy recounts his recovery journey and reflects on the impact of his suffering.”

On Jan. 1, 2023, Renner was run over by a 14,300-lb. snowplow in Reno, Nev., suffering blunt chest trauma and other potentially devastating injuries. He was trying to save his nephew from getting hit by the snowplow when he was pulled underneath the track himself.
The Mayor of Kingstown star broke 38 bones in his body during the accident, telling Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show last May that “half my face is metal. All the right side of my back is metal.”

In May 2024, Renner told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that his recovery is going to be a lifelong journey despite having made miraculous improvements in the time since.
“I had to accept it for the rest of my life. There’ll be nothing normal or as it was prior to the accident,” he said. “By the way, I’m okay with that. It’s making my life better. I’m healthier because of it.”
“I get to focus more on my health and well-being than I ever did before because I have to,” the Marvel star added. “Recovery will be until I’m out of this old hot mess of a body. It was a way for me to really accept that it is going to be forever.”
That June, Renner shared the harrowing details of the accident in an interview with Men’s Health, in which he said he remembered his skull “cracking” underneath the weight of the vehicle.
“It undulates, because there’s four sections of tires with these metal tracks — it pulls it like a tank. I remember every undulation,” he told the outlet. “I remember my head cracking on the thing and it just pressing on me — it’s exactly like you think it would feel. An immovable object and a crushing force, and something’s gotta give.”

On Jan. 19, over two years after the incident, Renner hinted at the title of his upcoming book while sharing one of the treatments that has been a staple in his recovery.
“Taking care of business; this office of mine has been such a blessing and absolute champion for wellness,” Renner captioned an Instagram post that included a snap of him smiling in a hyperbaric chamber with a white tube under his mouth.
He added, “Hyperbaric at 2 atmos has been a staple in my life for 20 months now. 02 is essential for our life and our longevity … Pull up a chair and let’s discuss all things good in life today !!! #MyNextBreath.”
