Alexander-Arnold signals intention to leave Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold is “keen to take on a new challenge” and has informed Liverpool he wants to join Real Madrid.
That is according to a report in the Mirror, quoting Spanish outlet Marca. The England international’s contract with The Reds is due to expire in the summer and he has been strongly linked with a move to Los Blancos.
“Despite Alexander-Arnold’s affection for the club he is keen to take on a new challenge and, this summer, looks to have set his heart on a move to the Spanish capital. Marca claims the 26-year-old has told the Liverpool hierarchy of his decision to leave for Real on a free in the summer.
“It is understood that Los Blancos, the current Champions League holders, are willing to discuss terms once the January transfer window opens. However, the Reds would rather he left as a free agent in the summer than for a fee next month. They still have ambitions of winning multiple pieces of silverware and having Alexander-Arnold will aid their cause.
“The opportunity to play alongside close friend and England team-mate Jude Bellingham is reportedly an added incentive for Alexander-Arnold, who has been pictured out with the Real star in the past.”
Everton yet to offer new deal to Branthwaite
Jarrad Branthwaite has not been offered a new contract at Everton, the Mail claims.
The defender has two years left on his current deal but has attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City.
“Branthwaite, an England international, was the subject of £50million offers from Manchester United in the summer while neighbours Liverpool and Manchester City are monitoring his progress.
“He is valued at £75 million by Everton but is understood to still be among the lower earners of the Goodison club’s first-team squad.
“The 22-year-old remains a target for rival clubs next month while United, struggling to buy under PSR restrictions, have indicated they will return in the summer.
“Branthwaite has just over two years left on contract though and Mail Sport sources have indicated he would be willing to commit to a new deal at Everton following the takeover by the Friedkin Group.
“United were reportedly willing to offer £160,000 a week to Branthwaite in August but Everton’s top earners are reputed to earn closer to £130,000 a week.”
Chelsea line up replacement for Veiga
Chelsea could replace Renato Veiga with Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu.
“According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano though, the Blues face competition. Tottenham are also said to be lining up a move, having been interested in the four-cap international since last summer.
“Dorgu’s current contract runs until 2029, so Lecce are likely to try and hold out for a sizeable fee. But Maresca has proved he’s not afraid to be ruthless when it comes to getting rid of players, or pinpointing targets in the transfer market.
“Veiga signed for a £12m fee from Basel in the summer, penning a seven-year deal. But he’s been most confined to Europa Conference League games this season, with Maresca clearly not considering him worthy of his strongest XI.”
Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club and join Spanish giants Real Madrid. According to a report from The Independent, the 22-year-old is said to be keen on a new challenge and has informed Liverpool of his intentions to move to Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold has been a key player for Liverpool since breaking into the first team in 2016 and has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the world. However, it appears that he is now ready to take the next step in his career by testing himself in La Liga with Real Madrid.
The news will come as a blow to Liverpool fans, who have seen Alexander-Arnold develop into a fan-favorite at Anfield. The England international has won multiple trophies with the club, including the Premier League and Champions League, and has been a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s success.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be willing to let Alexander-Arnold leave, especially given his importance to the team. However, if the player is determined to move to Real Madrid, it may be difficult for the club to stand in his way.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, will be delighted at the prospect of signing a player of Alexander-Arnold’s quality. The Spanish giants have been in the market for a new right-back and see the Liverpool star as the perfect fit for their team.
It remains to be seen how this transfer saga will unfold, but one thing is for certain – Trent Alexander-Arnold is ready for a new challenge and has his sights set on a move to Real Madrid.
