I Think This Proves That Kane Brown is a Spectacular Parent
Kane Brown is a father before he is anything else.
The dad of three has proven time and time again that family is the most important thing in his life, and he always wants to be present for those closest to him.
The singer recently stopped by Taste of Country Nights to chat it up with host Evan Paul, where he peeled back the curtain a little bit and gave us an inside look at his family life.
When asked if his two daughters Kingsley and Kodi were accepting of their new baby brother, Krewe, Brown was gushing with pride and love.
Brown said “It’s crazy, my middle child, Kodi, just turned 3. She is obsessed with him [Krewe]. We have to tell her to get out of his face. She kisses him, will just randomly get a sniff (Brown then made the sniffle sound).”
Brown admitted that he and his wife get quite the laugh at the cuteness overload when that happens.
Brown said that when Kodi sniffs him they chuckle. “It’s just like, ‘what are you doing?’” he says. “But nah, she loves him.”

That just proves that the Browns are raising their kids right and in a home full of love. For the children to feel safe and loved enough to be able to express their feelings at such a young age — and for those feelings to be of intense sibling love — is proof positive that the Browns are spectacular parents.
As for whether being a boy dad is different than being a girl dad? “Yeah. Oh, definitely,” the “Bury Me in Georgia” singer says.

NEW YORK (Jan. 13, 2025) – Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal and Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane have been named the NHL’s “Three Stars” presented by GEICO for the week ending Jan. 12.
THIRD STAR – PATRICK KANE, RW, DETROIT RED WINGS
Kane produced 2-4—6 in three appearances to lift the Red Wings (20-18-4, 44 points) to a perfect week – and their seventh straight win dating to Dec. 29 – as they moved within two points of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. He notched his 13th career overtime goal (and 79th career game-winning goal) in a 3-2 triumph against the Ottawa Senators Jan. 7. Kane then collected a trio of helpers – his 22nd career three-assist performance and first since March 12, 2022 at OTT (w/ CHI) – in a 5-3 win versus his former team, the Chicago Blackhawks, Jan. 10. He closed the week with 1-1—2, his ninth multi-point outing of 2024-25, in a 6-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken Jan. 12. The 36-year-old Kane – voted one of the “100 Greatest NHL Players” during the League’s Centennial celebration – has registered 10-17—27 through 37 total contests this season, with nearly half of those points coming during a seven-game streak that aligns with Detroit’s current unblemished run (Dec. 29 – Jan. 12: 5-8—13).
Kane Named NHL ‘Third Star’ of the Week presented by GEICOChicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane has been named the NHL’s ‘Third Star’ of the Week presented by GEICO. Kane recorded 8 points in 3 games, including 3 goals and 5 assists, helping the Blackhawks to a 2-1-0 record.
Kane’s standout performances included a 4-point game against the New Jersey Devils, where he tallied 2 goals and 2 assists. He also had a goal and an assist in each of the other two games during the week.
This recognition comes as no surprise to Blackhawks fans, as Kane has been a consistent offensive threat throughout his career. With this latest honor, Kane continues to solidify his status as one of the league’s top players.
Congratulations to Patrick Kane on being named the NHL’s ‘Third Star’ of the Week presented by GEICO! Keep up the great work on the ice.

Entering this evening’s game against the Seattle Kraken, the Detroit Red Wings are riding a six-game winning streak, which has brought the team a game above .500 at 19–18–4. Perhaps no player has enjoyed that streak quite as much as Patrick Kane, who has four goals and seven assists during that run, with at least one point in each game.
Jan 10, 2025; Detroit, Michigan, USA; Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane (88) handles the puck during the second period against the Chicago Blackhawks at Little Caesars Arena. Mandatory Credit: Brian Bradshaw Sevald-Imagn Images Kane followed up his overtime winner Tuesday against the Senators with a three assist performance against his old team, the Chicago Blackhawks, Friday night. If there is one Red Wing who might argue he’s enjoyed a better go of it during the streak, it’s Kane’s current line mate, longtime running mate, and former Blackhawk teammate Alex DeBrincat. Playing beside Kane at five-on-five and on the power play, DeBrincat has five goals and five assists during the six-game heater, and like Kane, he has at least a point in each game.
Between them, center Andrew Copp has been effective in a role coach Todd McLellan referred to as the line’s “safety valve,” providing defensive solidity behind two players who tend to lean toward offense. Copp’s been more than just a defender for those two though; with his hockey sense and passing, he’s added value to the line in all three zones. As Kane pointed out, Copp’s well rounded game is easy to work off, saying of the University of Michigan alum, “good two-way center, very smart player, his willingness to go to the net, I think [those] are all good things in a center that Cat and I have had success with in the past.”
McLellan observed the best of Kane’s game in Copp’s third period goal from Friday’s game: “[Kane] has unreal poise with the puck. There’s traffic, there’s people going everywhere, and guys are taking runs at him, and he’s just so calm. And he can hold it a little longer while he’s doing that, and he’s seeing things. I thought the goal that Copp scored. He bobbed and weaved through, slowed it down enough so that the players could catch up, I think he found [Erik] Gustafsson and then Copp, the rebound, but that was all Patty Kane just slowing things down and creating opportunities for teammates.”
The present production from Kane and DeBrincat evokes memories of the best of Detroit’s second half surge a year ago. With each game they continue at this clip, the Red Wings’ playoff aspirations grow more realistic.

Red Wings’ Patrick Kane boosted by ‘welcome change’ to game
Patrick Kane didn’t collect more than 1,300 points by sitting back and letting the game come to him. He thrives with the puck on his stick and in a system that stresses an aggressive attack.
He’s been rejuvenated since Todd McLellan took over as Detroit Red Wings coach and on Monday was named the NHL’s third star of the week after collecting six points (two goals, four assists) in three games. It’s the first time this season a Red Wing has been among the league’s weekly three stars.
Kane’s strong play goes further back than that. He’s riding a seven-game points streak (five goals, eight assists), as is linemate Alex DeBrincat (six goals, five assists).
Kane credited McLellan’s approach for his own success and the team’s.
“Just the part of our game that’s kind of always on the hunt, always playing more towards the other team’s net instead of like sitting back a little bit has been a welcome change for my game,” Kane said. “And not only my game, but the team in general. I mean, obviously, the chemistry with DeBrincat and (Andrew) Copp has been really good, too, for a while, and we’ve been playing well. We probably feel like we can produce a little bit more, but we’ve been getting chances and playing well in that regard.
“So, try to keep pushing forward and keep playing aggressive. I think that’s a big part of our reason for success right now.”
The Red Wings (20-18-4) have won seven in a row, their longest winning streak since January 2012. They’ll try to extend it Tuesday at home against the San Jose Sharks (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).
Kane had gone a career-high nine games without a point from Nov. 15-Dec. 12 (he missed five games during that stretch with an injury). Now he’s back to stepping up at key moments.
Kane notched his 13th career overtime goal and 79th game-winning goal last Tuesday in a 3-2 victory over Ottawa. He collected three assists Friday in a 5-3 win over Chicago – his 22nd career three-assist performance. He picked up a goal and an assist Sunday in a 6-2 victory over Seattle, his ninth multi-point game this season.
“I’m honored to be his coach,” McLellan said. “You watch him all those years and try and solve him all those years. I’m glad I don’t have to do that. His poise with the puck is uncanny, how he can slow things down, speed it up. Probably an underrated shot, I never gave him enough credit for a shot like that, that he scored on (vs. Ottawa). He quietly leads, goes about his business and everybody kind of follows.”
Kane, 36, has 10 goals and 27 points in 37 games overall.
Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (2-0-0, 1.00 goals-against average, .960 save percentage) was the No. 1 star and Carolina center Jordan Staal (five goals, two assists) was the second star.
The Detroit Red Wings’ star forward Patrick Kane is feeling rejuvenated and energized on the ice thanks to a “welcome change” to his game. After a slow start to the season, Kane has found his groove and is making a significant impact for his team.Kane credits his recent success to a newfound confidence and a renewed focus on his training and preparation. He has been working closely with his coaches and teammates to fine-tune his skills and elevate his performance to new heights.
Fans of the Red Wings have taken notice of Kane’s improved play, with many praising his work ethic and determination. With his renewed passion for the game, Kane is poised to continue making a significant impact for the Red Wings as they push for a playoff spot.
Stay tuned to see what else Kane has in store as he continues to thrive on the ice with his “welcome change” to his game.

#Red #Wings #Patrick #Kane #boosted #change #gameKalen DeBoer refines DC Kane Wommack’s role, elevates Chuck Morrell in Alabama staff shakeup
Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has elevated his former defensive coordinator Chuck Morrell to inside linebackers coach, according to the Alabama Athletics staff directory. Morrell served as special assistant to the head coach this past season.
As a result, defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, who doubled as the inside linebackers coach, will only serve as a coordinator in 2025 overseeing the defense. That move is also reflected in the school directory.
These moves coincide with multiple reports on Friday that safeties coach Colin Hitschler will not be retained on staff. With Morrell’s promotion and Wommack’s shift in role, cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist is in line to oversee the entire secondary. These moves keep Alabama at 10 full-time assistant coaches.
DeBoer and Morrell have extensive history together. The two were teammates at Sioux Falls and coached together from 2000 to ’09. Morrell joined DeBoer at Fresno State as his safeties coach from 2020 to ’21, then served as Washington’s defensive coordinator from 2022 to ’23 before following DeBoer to Alabama in an off-field role.
With the NCAA rule change allowing off-field staffers to coach on the field, Morrell worked extensively with the inside linebackers as far back as spring practice. Now he will coach that position full-time, taking over a room that lost Jihaad Campbell to the NFL Draft on Thursday but signed Colorado transfer linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green and is expecting senior Justin Jefferson to return for one more season.

In a recent staff shakeup at the University of Alabama, new defensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer has made some key adjustments to the coaching staff. One of the most notable changes is the refinement of former DC Kane Wommack’s role, as well as the elevation of Chuck Morrell within the coaching staff.DeBoer, who was recently hired as the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator, has decided to keep Wommack on staff but in a more specialized role. Wommack, who previously served as the defensive coordinator, will now focus on coaching a specific position group and providing valuable input to DeBoer and the rest of the defensive staff.
In addition to Wommack’s new role, DeBoer has also elevated Chuck Morrell to a more prominent position within the coaching staff. Morrell, who previously served as an analyst, will now serve as a full-time assistant coach and will have a larger role in game planning and player development.
These changes reflect DeBoer’s commitment to building a strong and cohesive coaching staff at Alabama. With Wommack’s expertise and Morrell’s new responsibilities, the Crimson Tide’s defense is sure to be in good hands under DeBoer’s leadership.
