More star power has been added to a campaign aimed at keeping more Hollywood production in Los Angeles.

Keanu Reeves and Bette Midler have reportedly joined others in supporting Stay in LA, a new campaign meant to boost production staying or returning to the area in light of the region’s recent devastating wildfires.

The two stars join Zooey Deschanel, Joshua Jackson, Olivia Wilde, Alex Winter, Kevin Bacon and Connie Britton and more in signing on to the grassroots campaign, launched by Alexandra Pechman and Sarah Adina Smith, acccording to Deadline.

“The group has proposed uncapping the tax incentive for productions that shoot in LA County for the next three years as part of the overall disaster relief effort as well as calling on the studios and streamers to pledge at least 10% more production in LA over the next three years,” the publication reported.

Stay in LA is asking California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, the California State Legislature and the city council to join forces in working on passing necessary measures to incentivize entertainment production in the city.

“The fires remind us that we are nothing without each other. Los Angeles is like no place else on Earth because of the people who live here— but they can’t afford to stay and rebuild without jobs,” Smith said.

President Donald Trump recently announced that he was enlisting actors Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight as “special ambassadors” to Hollywood.

Los Angeles is known for its star-studded residents, and two beloved Hollywood icons are now lending their support to the Stay in LA campaign. Keanu Reeves and Bette Midler have joined forces to encourage Angelenos to stay put and explore all that their city has to offer.

The Stay in LA campaign is a grassroots movement aimed at promoting local businesses, attractions, and events in Los Angeles. With the ongoing pandemic, many residents are choosing to stay close to home and support their community. Reeves and Midler are using their star power to shine a spotlight on all the wonderful things that LA has to offer.

  • Keanu Reeves & Bette Midler Join Stay In LA Campaign

The Stay in LA campaign is growing.

Five days after launching the campaign – designed to encourage more production to return to the city following the devastating wildfires – the group now has over 15,000 signatures to its petition.

This now includes A-listers such as Keanu Reeves and Bette Midler.

Rian Johnson, Patty Jenkins, Joey King, Zooey Deschanel, Joshua Jackson, Olivia Wilde, Alex Winter, Kevin Bacon, Connie Britton, Charlie Hunnam, Sian Heder and Jason Reitman are among the signatories to the grassroots campaign, which was launched by Alexandra Pechman and Sarah Adina Smith.

Pechman, who has written on series such as Syfy’s Channel Zero and Hulu’s Into The Dark, and Sarah Adina Smith, who has directed episodes of Apple’s Lessons in Chemistry and FX’s Legion, started the campaign with a group of about 30 filmmakers and showrunners including Nick Antosca, Julie Plec, Michael Sucsy, and Alex Winter in partnership with CA United, led by Pamala Buzick Kim, Wes Bailey, and Marie Dunaway.

The group has proposed uncapping the tax incentive for productions that shoot in LA County for the next three years as part of the overall disaster relief effort as well as calling on the studios and streamers to pledge at least 10% more production in LA over the next three years.

They want to uncap mediums to also bolster short-form productions such as commercials as well as post-production work, want to reduce or eliminate permit fees to lower the cost of production and address insurance restrictions.

They have urged Governor Newsom, Mayor Karen Bass, the California State Legislature and the LA City Council to join forces on such emergency measures.

Others who have signed the petition include actors such as Jane Levy, Alison Brie, Allison Janney, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Levar Burton, Julie Benz, Jack Huston, Kyra Sedgwick, Titus Welliver, Richard Kind, Aisha Tylor, Brenda Strong, Paget Brewster, Jake Johnson, Josh Malina, Jeri Ryan, Rosemarie Dewitt, Abbi Jacobson, Troian Bellisario, Scoot McNairy, Garret Dillahunt, Aleksa Palladino, Rachel Bloom, Robin Wright and Kathryn Hahn.

It also includes filmmakers such as Lilly Wachowski, Mike Flanagan, Jeremy Saulnier, Greg Yaitanes, Niki Caro, Rachel Morrison, Erin Lee Carr, Cord Jefferson, Destin Daniel Cretton, Kay Cannon, Reed Morano, John Logan, John Hillcoat, Emmanuel Lubezki, Michael Mann and showrunners Francesca Sloane, Jen Statsky, Lucia Aniello, Bryan Fuller, Marlene King, Mara Brock Akil, Nikki Toscano, Ashley Lyle, LaToya Morgan, Liz Tigelaar, Marc Guggenheim and Charmaine DeGraté.

Sarah Adina Smith said, “The fires remind us that we are nothing without each other. Los Angeles is like no place else on Earth because of the people who live here— but they can’t afford to stay and rebuild without jobs.”

Alexandra Pechman added, “Actors, HODS, writers, producers, and directors want to live here and see their families. They don’t want to go to Bulgaria or South Africa or Canada to shoot, and that brings below-the-line jobs back to LA. But we need to incentivize people to stay here and rebuild and support our small businesses. This city was built on people coming here to make movies– let’s keep them here.”

Exciting news for all Angelenos! Hollywood icons Keanu Reeves and Bette Midler have officially joined the Stay In LA campaign, encouraging residents to continue following social distancing guidelines and staying safe during the ongoing pandemic.

Both Reeves and Midler have been vocal supporters of the campaign, emphasizing the importance of protecting our community and healthcare workers by staying home as much as possible. Supporters of the “Stay in LA” campaign have more than doubled in the four days since it launched, with several A-listers now throwing their weight behind the petition.

Among them, Keanu Reeves, Olivia Wilde, Bette Midler, Patty Jenkins, Rian Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Joey King, Zooey Deschanel, LeVar Burton, Joshua Jackson, Alex Winter, Connie Britton, Sian Heder, Jason Reitman and Charlie Hunnam.

They join a growing list of supporters that in just three days has pushed the number of signatories from 6,000 to, as of this writing, more than 14, 729.

Organized by writer Alexandra Pechman and director Sarah Adina Smith, the petition calls for California politicians and studios to “help our beloved city rebuild itself and ensure L.A.’s future viability as a place where craftspeople, film workers and businesses thrive.” Among its proposals, it asks the state to uncap the tax incentive for productions that shoot in Los Angeles County, and urges studios and streamers to pledge at least 10% more production in L.A. over the next three years.

Many entertainment industry figures have enacted efforts to help out Los Angeles since the fires — for example, Vin Diesel announced that Universal will finish shooting “Fast X: Part 2” in Los Angeles, noting that his sister pointed out that “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever.”

The “Stay in LA” campaign has gained even more star power, with Keanu Reeves and Patty Jenkins joining the cause. The campaign, which aims to encourage people to stay in Los Angeles and support local businesses during the pandemic, has now reached over 15,000 supporters.

  • Keanu Reeves Gives Disappointing John Wick 5 Update

Keanu Reeves Gives Disappointing John Wick 5 Update

    Summary

    • The John Wick franchise has grossed over $1 billion, with Reeves as the lead in all four movies.
    • Reeves hesitates about a fifth installment due to physical demands but doesn’t completely rule it out.
    • The potential ending in Chapter 4 could serve as a perfect conclusion, leaving Chapter 5 unnecessary.

The John Wick franchise is one of the most popular in modern times, with the action blockbusters proving to be a massive hit with moviegoers. The franchise has grossed more than $1 billion combined, which has helped to make the films a box office sensation. Keanu Reeves has played a significant role in making that happen as the lead role in all four John Wick movies.

The films have created unique stories set in their own universe but are best known for the incredible action scenes that push the boundaries of what people expect from the genre. Audiences are guaranteed to see Reeves take on his iconic role at least once more in the upcoming spinoff, Ballerina. However, whether or not there will be a John Wick: Chapter 5 remains to be seen.

Who among these villains is the baddest of them all to dare go against the Baba Yaga himself, John Wick?

While a fifth installment in this franchise might be something lots of people want to see, Reeves provided some disappointing news about the possibility to CBS News. He said, “You can never say never,” Reeves said. My knees right now are saying, ‘I can’t do another John Wick.So my heart does, but I don’t know if my knees can do it.”

Of course, taking on a role such as Wick will always be demanding on the body, and that’s why Reeves is hesitant about committing himself to making another one. The popular actor has previously given unclear answers when asked about the future of the franchise and whether or not a fifth movie would happen, and a lot of that decision would ultimately come down to him. Audiences would certainly be open to seeing one more adventure within this world due to the high consistency of the franchise thus far, but they would also only want that to happen if everyone involved was fully committed to the project.

A fifth John Wick movie would certainly prove to be popular with audiences, but the franchise doesn’t hang in the balance of one happening. John Wick: Chapter 4 did provide a potentially perfect ending to this character with his presumable death after competing in one final duel to get himself off the High Table. Wick seemingly dies in the final scene showcasing his gravestone, and while that doesn’t guarantee anything in the world of cinema, the mysterious, open-ended possibilities would be a perfect ending to this particular franchise and this character.

Ultimately, audiences wouldn’t want to see John Wick: Chapter 5 if it couldn’t live up to its predecessors, and a lot of that would be on Reeves’ shoulders. Even though his performance in the titular role is about much more than just the action that takes place in these movies, they do play such a significant part that Reeves not being physically capable of pulling it off would leave people feeling underwhelmed. The fact that he’s taking the character’s integrity so seriously should be seen as a positive, as it means that if John Wick: Chapter 5 gets made, then it will be done to the highest standard.

A retired hitman is drawn back into the criminal underworld.

Fans of the John Wick franchise were left disappointed after hearing the latest update on John Wick 5 from Keanu Reeves himself. The beloved actor recently revealed that the highly anticipated sequel may not happen as soon as fans had hoped.

In a recent interview, Reeves explained that due to scheduling conflicts and the uncertainty surrounding the current global pandemic, production on John Wick 5 has been delayed indefinitely. This news comes as a blow to fans who were eagerly awaiting the next installment in the action-packed series.

Reeves expressed his disappointment at the situation, stating that he is just as eager to return to the role of John Wick as fans are to see him back in action. However, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and ensuring that the film can be made in a way that does justice to the character and the story.

While this update may be disappointing for fans, it’s clear that Reeves and the rest of the John Wick team are committed to delivering a film that lives up to the high expectations set by the previous installments. Hopefully, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see John Wick back on the big screen, taking down bad guys in his signature style.

Keanu Reeves Casts Doubt on a ‘John Wick 5’ Return

Keanu Reeves has taken on hordes of assassins, survived near-impossible shootouts, and outwitted every underworld boss imaginable, but it seems he’s finally met an enemy even John Wick can’t defeat—getting up from a chair without cursing in pain. In a recent interview with CBS News promoting his role in Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Reeves candidly shared his doubts about returning for a fifth John Wick film, despite admitting that he would love nothing more than to put the suit on again and shoot some bad guys extremely precisely in the head.

Reeves was speaking after the explosive success of John Wick: Chapter 4, which left his character…well…dead. The series is infamous for its demanding action sequences, with Reeves dedicating months to training for combat and stunts. Still, after four punishing movies, it’s understandable that Reeves would be considering retiring from the physically demanding role.

You can never say never,” Reeves admitted, before adding:

“My knees right now are saying, ‘I can’t do another John Wick.’ So my heart does, but I don’t know if my knees can do it.”

If John Wick 5 does happen, it looks like Reeves might be trading bulletproof suits for knee braces and action-packed car chases for cautious trips across icy sidewalks like the rest of us.

Will Keanu Reeves Play John Wick Again?

Despite Keanu Knee-ves’ latest comments, we haven’t seen the last of Reeves as the Baba Yaga. The actor is set to reprise his role in the John Wick spin-off film Ballerina, led by Ana de Armas and taking place in between the events of the third and fourth films, which should allow Reeves the chance to get back into the world of assassins without having to shoulder the full weight of the franchise. We don’t yet know if it’s a supporting role or just a cameo, but given that he’s in the trailer, it should be at least more than one scene. Plus you couldn’t possibly have John Wick in a film and not have him shoot somebody or kill a bad guy with a f*cking pencil.

Ballerina is due in theaters on June 6, 2025. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates on the project and watch John Wick: Chapter 4 on Starz.

Keanu Reeves Casts Doubt on a ‘John Wick 5’ Return

Fans of the popular action franchise ‘John Wick’ may be disappointed to hear that Keanu Reeves has cast doubt on the possibility of returning for a fifth installment in the series.

In a recent interview, Reeves expressed uncertainty about the future of the character, stating that he was unsure if there was more story to tell for John Wick. He also mentioned that he didn’t want to overstay his welcome in the role and risk diluting the impact of the character.

While this news may come as a disappointment to fans who were hoping for more high-octane, gun-fu action from the beloved assassin, Reeves’ concerns about the quality and longevity of the series are understandable. After all, it’s better to leave fans wanting more than to overstay one’s welcome.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that a ‘John Wick 5’ is completely off the table, but for now, it seems like Reeves is taking a cautious approach to the future of the franchise. Only time will tell if we will see John Wick back in action once again.

Utah Defensive Tackle Keanu Tanuvasa to Transfer to BYU

Utah starting defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa will make the trip down the I-15 and transfer to BYU. The news was first reported by CBS Sports. Tanuvasa gives the BYU defensive front, who is set to lose every starter from 2024, a major boost. Tanuvasa elevates the ceiling of not only the defensive line, but the defense as a whole.

Last week, Tanuvasa announced his plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Tanuvasa was originally linked to programs like USC and Michigan, but BYU moved quickly to get him added to the roster.

Tanuvasa, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has connections to BYU and BYU had a need at defensive tackle. The combination of those two things made Tanuvasa a high-priority transfer target for BYU.

First and foremost, current BYU defensive tackles coach Sione Po’uha was the defensive tackles coach at Utah when Tanuvasa signed with the Utes. After signing with Utah, Tanuvasa left on his mission and Coach Po’uha made the move to BYU.

Tanuvasa’s membership in the church also gives him an obvious connection to BYU. He considered BYU in his original recruitment and grew close with BYU head coach Kalani Sitake.

Tanuvasa is coming off an impressive sophomore campaign for the University of Utah. A two-year starter, Tanuvasa has tallied 50 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 5 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble.

You can put his name in the 2025 starting lineup with a sharpie.

It’s official: Utah defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa is transferring to BYU. The news was announced today, much to the excitement of Cougars fans everywhere.

Tanuvasa, a redshirt sophomore, has been a key player for the Utes over the past two seasons. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing in at 295 pounds, he brings size, strength, and athleticism to the defensive line.

BYU head coach Kalani Sitake expressed his excitement about adding Tanuvasa to the roster, stating, “Keanu is a talented player with a bright future ahead of him. We can’t wait to see him in action for the Cougars.”

Tanuvasa will have to sit out the 2022 season due to NCAA transfer rules but will have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2023. This gives him plenty of time to make an impact and showcase his skills for BYU.

With Tanuvasa’s addition, the Cougars are looking even stronger on defense, and fans are eager to see what he can bring to the team. Welcome to BYU, Keanu!

Reports: Utah DT Keanu Tanuvasa Transferring to BYU

BYU has added a huge addition to its defensive line as Utah defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa is transferring to BYU, according to On3 and 247 Sports.

Despite playing in just 7 games this season after battling injuries, Tanuvasa was a Big 12 All-Conference Honorable Mention. Tanuvasa has started in 19 games the last two seasons for the Utes. He will be a redshirt junior this upcoming season and has two years of eligibility remaining. Tanuvasa played for the Utes against BYU this season, totaling 4 tackles and 0.5 TFLs that game. In 2023, Tanuvasa started all 13 games and tallied 27 tackles, 6 TFLs, and 2 sacks.

Defensive tackle is one of the priorities for BYU this offseason as BYU loses its top two defensive tackles — Blake Mangleson and John Nelson — to graduation. Tanuvasa will immediately step in and give a big boost to BYU’s defensive line next season. Tanuvasa is a proven commodity who is listed at 6-foot-4, 301 pounds and will have a big impact to BYU up front in both run and pass defense. If Tanuvasa is healthy this season, there’s no reason to think he can’t be a First-Team All-Big 12 player. It also doesn’t hurt either that this is another blow to a Utah team that has been bleeding players to the transfer portal and was working to bring Keanu back.

Keanu is the second DT commitment from the transfer portal BYU has added, joining SUU transfer Anisi Purcell.

You can watch the breakdown Hans Olsen did of Keanu in the first month of the 2023 season below.

Reports have surfaced that Utah defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa is transferring to rival Brigham Young University. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman is set to join the Cougars for the upcoming season, adding depth and talent to their defensive line.

Tanuvasa, a native of Hawaii, saw limited playing time at Utah but showed potential as a disruptive force in the trenches. He will bring his size, strength, and agility to BYU, where he is expected to make an immediate impact.

This transfer is sure to add an interesting dynamic to the rivalry between the two schools, as Tanuvasa will now be suiting up in BYU blue instead of Utah red. It will be exciting to see how he performs in his new environment and how he contributes to the Cougars’ defense in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
