  • Kelly Ripa Breaks Down After Sad Family News

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are saying goodbye to a beloved member of their family.

On February 5, the Live With Kelly and Mark co-stars went on the ABC morning program to mourn the loss of their beloved dog, Chewie, who had died the night before. Chewie had been a part of their lives for 17 years (the couple also adopted their other dog Lena in 2021), and after going through a number of complicated health issues, the couple decided to do what they felt was best and put her down.

“We had a rough day yesterday,” Mark sadly began in a clip posted on Instagram. “We had to say goodbye to Chewie yesterday … you think, ‘Okay, I’m doing the right thing, this is going to be not easy but … ‘ It’s probably one of the toughest things we’ve had to do as a married couple.”

As Mark told the audience about the impact Chewie had on them and their kids (sons Michael and Joaquin, along with daughter Lola), Kelly looked despondent and on the verge of tears. Eventually, she broke down on the air, with her head buried in her hands.

“I really thought I got it all out and I apologize because this is not how I wanted this to go down,” she stated. “We’re filled with gratitude for this dog … As each one of our kids left for college and moved out on our own, Chewie remained right there. Our steadfast companion. I feel very bad crying … there are much bigger problems in the world, and I understand that. But you have to understand that this dog was so special, and she was such a great girl.”

“You were a great dog mom, she adored you,” Mark added. “We’re going to get through this … All together, we’re going to get through it.”

When fans saw how emotional Kelly got about the loss of Chewie, words of sympathy immediately flooded the comments.

“Oh heavens, I’m so sorry for this precious loss,” one person wrote. “Ugh this was heartbreaking to watch. I’m so very sorry for your loss. She’ll be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge. ,” another consoled. “Crying with you My heart goes out to you both,” a different follower added.

We’re sending all our love to Kelly and Mark during this tough time.

Kelly Ripa, beloved co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, has been known for her bubbly personality and infectious energy on screen. However, the television personality recently faced heartbreaking news that left her visibly emotional on air.

During a recent episode of the popular morning show, Ripa shared with viewers that she had received some devastating family news. Fighting back tears, she revealed that a close family member had passed away unexpectedly.

As she struggled to hold back her emotions, Ripa opened up about the deep sadness and shock she was feeling. Her co-host, Ryan Seacrest, and the audience showed their support as she bravely shared her feelings.

Fans of the show took to social media to express their condolences and show their love and support for Ripa during this difficult time. Many praised her for her vulnerability and strength in sharing her emotions with the world.

  • Cheryl Hines, Megyn Kelly, and Vani Hari Form RFK Jr.’s MAHA Cheer Squad at First Confirmation Hearing

Typically, confirmation hearings for cabinet positions don’t come with raucous applause or screamed proclamations of love. But then again, most cabinet nominees are not Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an oddball player on the modern political scene if there ever was one.

Kennedy’s own family has spoken against him throughout both his failed presidential campaign and now his Senate confirmation process, most recently via a letter in which cousin Caroline Kennedy called him a “predator.” But he has inspired ardent support from other quarters with his MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) platform. He’s especially popular with the “did my own research,” “earth mama,” wannabe Instagram mommy-influencer types, and they made certainly made their presence known throughout Wednesday’s Senate festivities, with shrieks that were more befitting of a teenybopper at a mall concert than for the halls of Congress. When the hearing was recessed two hours in for a five-minute bathroom break, screeches of “We love you, Bobby!” could be heard over the live feed.

Beyond the panting fans, a few more familiar faces were visible lending their support to Kennedy, his squad of shiny-haired cheerleaders: Wife Cheryl Hines was there, despite Kennedy’s sexting scandal with a journalist, and offered her husband a peck on the lips as the hearing started. Over his shoulder, she could be seen blinking rapidly throughout the hours of question-and-answer-dodging, leading some on social media to joke that she was trying to transmit a message in Morse Code. Perhaps she was just grappling emotionally with the thought that if her husband is confirmed, she’ll have to stop shilling her $20 MAHA-scented candles within 90 days, denying the world more staged Instagram videos of her septuagenarian husband in the buff. A sacrifice for God and country, indeed.

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who has declared her support, was also in attendance, as was Vani Hari, writer of the Food Babe blog, several books, and perpetual variations on “I can’t believe how many ingredients are in this cereal.” Hari, in an eye-catching hot pink blazer, gold costume earrings, and bright red lipstick, was unmissable as she nodded animatedly throughout the hearing, smiling hugely at times, like when committee member Sen. Roger Marshall, a Kansas Republican, said that he believed that Kennedy had a “divine purpose” to fulfill in his proposed role. Hari brought her 8-year-old daughter, clad in pale pink, along for the trip, because what pre-tween doesn’t dream of a mommy-and-me day watching Kennedy dance around questions about his past drug use, alleged mistreatment of animals, anti-vaccine views, and newly aired stance against reproductive rights?

Marla Maples, the ex-wife of the current president, was seated further back in the chamber. Kennedy superfan Jessica Reed Kraus, who on Tuesday posted to her Instagram stories on @HouseInhabit begging for help getting into the hearing, apparently had her wish granted. She shared snaps of herself holding yet another baseball cap, this one reading “Confirm RFK Jr.” (because if a hat doesn’t say it, then is it even worth saying?), and a text-only slide insisting that the committee “confirm Bobby based simply on his tan.”

Kennedy will sit for a second confirmation hearing Thursday.

Renowned environmental activist and lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently had a group of famous supporters by his side at his first confirmation hearing for his nomination as head of the Environmental Protection Agency. Actress Cheryl Hines, former news anchor Megyn Kelly, and food activist Vani Hari all came together to form RFK Jr.’s MAHA (Mothers Advocating Healthy Air) Cheer Squad.

The trio of powerful women donned matching t-shirts emblazoned with the words “Protect Our Planet” and waved pom-poms as they cheered on Kennedy during his hearing. Hines, known for her work in environmental conservation, spoke passionately about the importance of clean air and water for future generations.

Kelly, who has recently taken a more active role in advocating for environmental causes, emphasized the need for strong leadership at the EPA in order to combat the climate crisis. Hari, a vocal critic of harmful food additives, highlighted the connection between environmental health and personal well-being.

The support of these influential women added a touch of star power to Kennedy’s confirmation hearing, drawing attention to the urgency of addressing environmental issues. As RFK Jr. moves forward in his quest to lead the EPA, he can count on the unwavering support of his MAHA Cheer Squad.

  • Chip Kelly reportedly returns to the NFL

Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is returning to the NFL.

The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly hiring him to be their new offensive coordinator on Pete Carroll’s coaching staff, according to an ESPN report.

Kelly, 61, hasn’t been in the National Football League since going one-and-done with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. Prior to that, he had mixed results as the Eagles’ head coach from 2013 to 2015. He started strong but faded fast as he pushed for more personnel control.

Kelly was the head coach at UCLA from 2018 through 2023 before being hired as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator in 2024. As a member of former Eagles quarterbacks coach Ryan Day’s coaching staff, Kelly recently helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship title.

It’ll be interesting to see how Kelly fares in his return to the NFL. The league had clearly caught up to him before he returned to the college football ranks.

Kelly will return to Lincoln Financial Field for the first time since 2015 when the Raiders visit Philadelphia to play the Eagles in 2025.

After a brief stint in college football, Chip Kelly is reportedly making his return to the NFL. The former head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers is rumored to be in talks with multiple teams about potential coaching opportunities.

Kelly’s fast-paced, high-powered offensive style made him a hot commodity in the NFL when he first burst onto the scene with the Eagles in 2013. While his tenure in Philadelphia ended in disappointment, Kelly’s innovative approach to the game could be a valuable asset to a team looking to shake things up.

Stay tuned for more updates on Chip Kelly’s potential return to the NFL and which team he might end up coaching next. It’s sure to be an interesting development in the world of football.

  • Who Buckeyes, Ryan Day could tap to replace Chip Kelly

Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly left to call plays for the Las Vegas Raiders next season, resulting in a mammoth-sized hole for Ryan Day and the defending national champions on their coaching staff. Day now has to fill both coordinator spots and an offensive line vacancy coming off the historic run in the first year of the expanded College Football Playoff. He presumably has his pick of top candidates as one of the national title frontrunners in 2025.

Ohio State finished fourth in the Big Ten in total offense (429.4 yards per game) and No. 14 nationally in scoring offense (35.7 points per game) under Kelly. It was an improvement from the 407.9 YPG and 30.5 PPG the Buckeyes averaged in 2023. Ohio State averaged 36.3 points in four College Football Playoff games en route to the program’s first national championship since 2014.

Ohio State replaces Will Howard at quarterback along with both of its top rushers, but does return Jeremiah Smith, Carnell Tate and Brandon Inniss at wide receiver along with promising depth along the offensive line.

Here are some of the potential fits for the Buckeyes:

As Ryan Day looks to fill the vacancy left by Chip Kelly, there are a few talented individuals within the Buckeyes coaching staff that could be tapped for the position. Here are a few potential candidates:

    1. Kerry Coombs, Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator – Coombs has been a key member of the coaching staff for several years and has a strong track record of success. His experience and leadership could make him a top contender for the position.

    2. Kevin Wilson, Offensive Coordinator – Wilson has a wealth of experience as an offensive coordinator and has helped lead the Buckeyes to some impressive offensive performances. His knowledge of the game and ability to develop players could make him a strong candidate for the role.

    3. Tony Alford, Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs Coach – Alford has been instrumental in developing some of the top running backs in the country and has a strong reputation as a recruiter. His leadership skills and ability to connect with players could make him a strong candidate for the position.

While these are just a few potential candidates, there are many talented coaches within the Buckeyes program who could be considered for the role. It will be interesting to see who Ryan Day ultimately taps to replace Chip Kelly and lead the team to continued success.

  • Raiders hiring Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator

Sunday, new Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll made some huge news as he hired the well-known Chip Kelly away from Ohio State to be the offensive coordinator.

Here are some thoughts on the move:

    A surprise headlining move:

This came out of nowhere and it shows that Carroll and the new Raiders’ regime is being both creative and aggressive as build toward the season. The offensive coordinator is the most important job on Carroll’s staff because he is more of a CEO type and he also specializes on defense. Kelly has a major role on this team as he is charged to giving life to a struggling unit. He has plenty of experience as a play caller. It can be a big move.

    Better than Bevell:

One of the surprising aspects of Kelly’s hiring was that Darrell Bevell was widely considered the heavy favorite to land this job. Bevell, the quarterbacks coach with the Miami Dolphins, was with Carroll with the Seattle Seahawks for seven years. A Bevell hiring would have been fairly uninspiring. The hiring of Kelly has a much higher ceiling for success.

    Mutual respect:

It’s not a surprise that Carroll would be interested in Kelly. They coached against each at in college when Carroll was at USC and Kelly was at Oregon and in the NFL when Carroll was with the Seahawks and Kelly was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

    He knows what he’s doing:

Kelly is known as a master play caller. He knows offense. He has 10 years experience as a college head coach and four as an NFL head coach. He did a masterful job at Ohio State as its offensive coordinator as the Buckeyes won the national championship last season.

San Francisco 49ers v Los Angeles Rams

Chip Kelly with the 49ers in 2016

Been a while since he’s been in the NFL:

This will be the first time Kelly works in the NFL since the 2016 season after he was fired as the 49ers’ head coach. Kelly has only four seasons of NFL experience, all as a head coach, including three seasons with Philadelphia. So, he will have to adjust back to the pro game.

Probably a better OC than head coach:

Kelly had his best head-coaching success while at Oregon spanning 2009-12. He’s had mixed success as a head coach at other spots. But he can coordinate an offense. being just an offensive coach probably best suits him.

    Spending money:

Sports Illustrated reported that Kelly is being paid $6 million a season. The highest total for an offensive coordinator in the NFL. Last year, the Raiders lost out of Kliff Kingsbury as the offensive coordinator because of contract length. This year, there was no worries there. The Raiders, flush with new ownership spending power, couldn’t land the big head-coach fish in Ben Johnson, but they were able to spend big with this hire.

    Hint of offseason spending?

Carroll has said the Raiders are in win-now mode and the Kelly hiring expresses that sentiment. The Raiders are projected to more more than $92 million in salary-cap room. Perhaps they are ready to give Kelly some new toys on offense with Cincinnati wide receiver Tee Higgins and Kansas City guard Trey Smith being top prizes.

    Still need a quarterback:

No matter the success Kelly has had calling plays, the Raiders need a quarterback whether it’s in free agency or the draft. That is still the top priority.

    Hint of draft picks?

Perhaps the Raiders will add players from Ohio State and UCLA (Kelly was the head coach there from 2018-23). Potential targets include Ohio State quarterback Will Howard and running back TreVeyon Henderson.

    Good leadership:

The Raiders appear strong at the top positions on the coaching staff with Carroll, Kelly and holder defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. It’s a solid group.

    Finally got him:

Antonio Pierce made a run at Kelly in 2024 and couldn’t close the deal. This year, Carroll and the big money landed him.

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a major move in their coaching staff, hiring former NFL head coach Chip Kelly as their new offensive coordinator.

Kelly, who previously served as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, brings a wealth of experience and a reputation for innovative offensive schemes to the Raiders. Known for his up-tempo, high-scoring offenses, Kelly is expected to bring a new dimension to the Raiders’ attack.

This move comes after the Raiders parted ways with former offensive coordinator Greg Olson following a disappointing season on the offensive side of the ball. With Kelly now on board, the Raiders are hoping to revitalize their offense and take their team to the next level.

Raiders fans are eager to see what Kelly can do with quarterback Derek Carr and the rest of the offense. With his track record of success in the NFL, there is a sense of excitement and optimism surrounding his hiring.

Stay tuned for more updates on how Chip Kelly will impact the Raiders’ offense in the upcoming season. #RaiderNation #ChipKelly #OffensiveCoordinator

  • Raiders hiring former Eagles, 49ers HC Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator

Chip Kelly is back in the NFL after nearly a decade away.

The Raiders are hiring Kelly as their next offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.

Kelly, who served as offensive coordinator for the Ohio State Buckeyes during their run to the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship, last worked in the NFL as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 following a stint as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013-2015.

He now joins Pete Carroll’s staff in Las Vegas looking to rectify an offense that ranked 29th in scoring during the 2024 campaign.

Around the NFL will have more on Kelly’s hiring shortly.

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a splashy hire, bringing in former Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly as their new offensive coordinator. Kelly, known for his innovative and fast-paced offensive schemes, will bring a new dynamic to the Raiders’ offense.

Kelly’s hiring comes after the Raiders decided to part ways with former offensive coordinator Greg Olson. The move signals a shift towards a more aggressive and high-octane offensive approach for the Raiders, who are looking to take their offense to the next level.

Kelly’s tenure with both the Eagles and 49ers may have been mixed, but there’s no denying his ability to create explosive offenses. With star quarterback Derek Carr at the helm, Kelly will have plenty of weapons to work with, including standout running back Josh Jacobs and dynamic wide receiver Henry Ruggs III.

Raiders fans can expect to see a fast-paced and creative offensive attack under Kelly’s guidance. His track record speaks for itself, and he will surely bring a new energy and excitement to the Raiders’ offense.

It will be interesting to see how Kelly’s offensive philosophy meshes with head coach Jon Gruden’s vision for the team. But one thing is for sure – the Raiders’ offense just got a whole lot more dangerous with Chip Kelly calling the shots. Stay tuned for an exciting season ahead! #RaiderNation #ChipKelly #OffensiveCoordinator

  • Ohio State Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly Leaving Buckeyes for NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders

Ohio State will have two new coordinators in 2025.

Chip Kelly is leaving the Buckeyes after one year as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach to become the offensive coordinator of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Pete Thamel.

He becomes the third assistant coach to leave Ohio State this offseason, joining defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and offensive line coach Justin Frye. Knowles left the Buckeyes to become the defensive coordinator at Penn State while Frye left Ohio State to become the Arizona Cardinals’ offensive line coach.

Per the terms of the three-year contract Kelly signed with Ohio State last year, Kelly will owe Ohio State a $350,000 buyout for leaving Ohio State to become an NFL assistant coach.

Kelly had expressed interest in becoming an NFL offensive coordinator last offseason before he became Ohio State’s offensive coordinator. Kelly joined Ohio State’s staff last February, replacing Bill O’Brien when he left Ohio State after just three weeks as offensive coordinator to become the head coach at Boston College.

Ryan Day turned to Kelly, who Day’s had a close relationship with since Kelly was his offensive coordinator during his playing days at the University of New Hampshire, to take over Ohio State’s offensive play calling in 2024, marking the first time in Day’s six-year tenure as head coach that he delegated play-calling duties.

With Kelly calling Ohio State’s offensive plays and coaching the Buckeyes’ quarterbacks, Ohio State scored 35.7 points per game – an increase of more than five points per game from 2023 – and Will Howard completed a school-record 73% of his passes while leading the Buckeyes to a national championship.

Now, Ohio State will be looking for a new offensive coordinator for the third year in a row. The Buckeyes previously promoted Brian Hartline to offensive coordinator in 2023 after Kevin Wilson left to become the head coach at Tulsa, though Hartline – who now holds the title of co-offensive coordinator – was not the primary play-caller in that role.

While it’s possible Ohio State could turn to a familiar face like Wilson (who remains in the job market after Tulsa fired him in November) or Hartline to be the offensive coordinator again in 2025, Ohio State should have no shortage of interest from coordinators around the country in the opportunity to lead an offense that will feature a host of talented players led by superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Kelly returns to the NFL for the first time since he was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013-15 and the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. He went on to be the head coach at UCLA from 2018-23 before leaving that post to join Day’s staff last offseason, citing a desire to spend more time coaching football rather than the CEO aspects of being a head coach.

Ohio State Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly Leaving Buckeyes for NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders

In a shocking turn of events, Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly has announced that he will be leaving the Buckeyes to join the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders as their new offensive coordinator. Kelly, who has been with Ohio State for the past two seasons, has reportedly been offered a lucrative contract by the Raiders that he simply couldn’t turn down.

Kelly’s departure comes as a blow to Ohio State fans, who have grown accustomed to his innovative offensive schemes and play-calling. Under Kelly’s guidance, the Buckeyes’ offense has been one of the most explosive in college football, averaging over 40 points per game during his tenure.

While Ohio State will undoubtedly miss Kelly’s coaching prowess, the Raiders are getting a proven offensive mastermind who has had success at both the college and professional levels. Kelly’s up-tempo, high-scoring offense should fit right in with the Raiders’ aggressive style of play, and fans in Las Vegas can expect to see some exciting football in the coming seasons.

As for Ohio State, the search for a new offensive coordinator is already underway. While Kelly’s shoes will be tough to fill, the Buckeyes are sure to attract top coaching talent as they look to maintain their status as one of the premier college football programs in the country.

  • Melissa Gilbert reacts to Megyn Kelly ‘Little House on the Prairie’ reboot comment

Little House on the Prairie alum Melissa Gilbert took notice of Megyn Kelly‘s response to Wednesday’s news of a planned reboot on Netflix.

Just after it was announced, the former Fox News journalist and current host of The Megyn Kelly Show, tagged Netflix in an X post that said, “if you wokeify Little House on the Prairie I will make it my singular mission to absolutely ruin your project.”

Gilbert, who starred in the family drama for its entire run, from 1974 to 1983, responded with her own social media post,

“Apparently Megyn tweeted (I’m not on that platform) asking that Netflix not ‘woke-ify’ their Little House remake,” wrote Gilbert, who played main character Laura “Half-pint” Ingalls.

“Ummm…watch the original again. TV doesn’t get too much more ‘woke’ than we did. We tackled: racism, addiction, nativism, antisemitism, misogyny, rape, spousal abuse and every other ‘woke’ topic you can think of,” Gilbert wrote.

She captioned it, “Watch any episode on any streaming platform anywhere in the world” and tagged Kelly.

Little House was wildly popular and continues to draw fans to reunion events. Steered by executive producer and star Michael Landon, the series did not shy away from uncomfortable topics. It might have been allowed to get away with it in primetime TV — it originally aired on NBC, though reruns over the years have been ubiquitous — perhaps because it was packaged in the sweet story of a hard-working family struggling to make their way in late-1800s America.

While Little House was originally based on the series of books of the same name by the real-life Laura Ingalls Wilder, who recounted her childhood in them, Landon and company often got creative. Now streaming on Peacock, the show depicts, for instance, the effects of body shaming and the struggles of the disabled. So it’s become internet fodder to talk about the darker side of the Emmy-winning series, which preceded even so-called “very special episodes” that dealt with previously taboo topics.

Details of the planned Netflix project haven’t been released — just that it’s been ordered. The streamer did say that it would be based on Wilder’s third Little House autobiographical book. The reboot will be based on the Ingalls family, which included Gilbert’s Laura, Landon’s Charles or “Pa,” Karen Grassle’s Caroline or “Ma,” and Laura’s sister Mary, who was played by Melissa Sue Anderson, Deadline, which broke the news, reported.

The new Little House will be executive produced by Trip Friendly, the son of the original show’s producer Ed Friendly. Rebecca Sonnenshine, writer and producer on The Boys and The Vampire Diaries., will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

No date for the series has been announced.

Recently, former “Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert found herself in the spotlight once again after Megyn Kelly made controversial comments about a potential reboot of the beloved TV show. Kelly suggested that a reboot would not be successful in today’s climate due to the show’s depiction of Native Americans.

In response, Gilbert took to social media to share her thoughts on Kelly’s remarks. The actress, who portrayed Laura Ingalls Wilder on the iconic series, expressed her disappointment in Kelly’s comments, stating that she believes a reboot could be successful if done with respect and authenticity.

Gilbert went on to explain that “Little House on the Prairie” was a show that aimed to educate viewers about the struggles and triumphs of pioneer life, and that she believes it is important to continue telling those stories in a way that is both respectful and truthful.

Fans of the show rallied behind Gilbert, showing their support for her stance on the potential reboot. Many agreed that the show’s message of family, community, and perseverance is timeless and should not be dismissed based on outdated stereotypes.

As the debate over a “Little House on the Prairie” reboot continues, it is clear that Melissa Gilbert remains passionate about preserving the legacy of the beloved series and ensuring that any potential revival stays true to its original spirit.
