  • Comedian Ken Flores Dies At 28 During National Tour

Comedian Ken Flores died Jan. 28, his family said in a statement shared to his Instagram account. He was 28.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our friend, brother, and son, Kenyi Flores,” the statement read. “Please respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.”

Flores died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at home, according to a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner report. A cause of death was not provided.

Flores was in the middle of a national comedy tour called the “Butterfly Effect Tour.” He was scheduled to perform in Phoenix Jan. 30 and Tempe, Arizona, Jan. 31.

Flores, who hailed from Chicago, was known for his relatable jokes. He told the Comedy Gazelle in June 2023 that he got into comedy as a way to change his lifestyle.

“The reason I even got into comedy was because I was a heavy drinker, I was a heavy into drugs, and I needed something to break me away from that,” he said at the time. “I wanted to do something with my life besides look forward to the weekends and spend my whole check on bulls–t.”

Flores often hosted the LatinXL show at the Laugh Factory, a comedy venue in Chicago. The show helped promote Latino comedians and “WOULD NOT exist without Ken,” a statement shared to the comedy show’s Instagram account said.

“We were so proud of Ken when he made it in his dream as a kid from Aurora,” the tribute to Flores read. “We were always rooting for him and continued to share stages to present day. LatinXL WOULD NOT exist without Ken. The XL was a nod to Ken for having an ‘XTRA large personality’ and being such a force… which crowds all over the country would inevitably love.”

Comedian Chris D’Elia posted a tribute to Flores Jan. 29, encouraging viewers to watch videos of Flores’ past performances.

“He was really, really, really funny, and he had the whole future in front of him,” D’Elia said. “He was a legend in the making is what I heard somebody say, and it was the truth.”

In his interview with Comedy Gazelle, Flores had shared his plans for the future and said he hopes to “tour for the rest of my life, write new material, and make people happy.”

“One of the things that makes me the happiest is when people tell me, ‘This is the first time I’ve ever gone to a comedy show. I relate to all your s–t, bro, and I had to come see it,’” he said. “I wanna be that voice. I just wanna grow and do this s–t forever, bro.”

It is with heavy hearts that we must share the news that comedian Ken Flores has passed away at the young age of 28 while on his national tour. Flores, known for his quick wit and infectious humor, had been gaining popularity in the comedy world and was on the brink of stardom.

Fans and fellow comedians alike are mourning the loss of a talented performer who brought joy and laughter to so many. Flores’ unique perspective and sharp comedic timing will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Ken Flores’ family, friends, and fans during this difficult time. May his legacy live on through the laughter he brought to so many. Rest in peace, Ken.

  • Dallas Cowboys news: Team considering Ken Dorsey as offensive coordinator

Cowboys offensive coordinator rumors: Here’s who Dallas is closing in on to join Brian Schottenheimer’s staff – Garrett Podell, CBS Sports

Ken Dorsey is a target for the next offensive coordinator in Dallas.

Speaking at his introductory press conference Monday, Schottenheimer spoke about the pride he had in having top-ranked rushing offenses throughout his career as an offensive coordinator. It’s safe to say that will be a priority in Dallas in 2025.

“We want to be able to run the ball,” Jones said. “Everybody says that we want to run the ball and we want to stop the run, and certainly that’s what we want to do. That’s what great championship football teams do, and I know coach Schottenheimer wants to do that. I think it’s real important that we find in this hire a coach that’s going to be outstanding in the run game area.”

That’s why Dorsey is receiving consideration. His Buffalo offenses averaged the seventh-most rushing yards per game in the entire NFL in both 2022 (139.5) and 2023 (130.1).

Dorsey’s 2024 attack in Cleveland, which averaged the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game (94.6) in the entire league, was set up to fail due to quarterback Deshaun Watson’s poor play before a season-ending injury and running back Nick Chubb’s season-ending injury. Dorsey ended up being the Browns’ fall guy after Cleveland went 3-14 to secure the 2025 NFL Draft’s second overall pick; head coach Kevin Stefanski gave him offensive play-calling duties during the season and has since taken them back for 2025 following Dorsey’s firing.

New Report Reveals Why Jerry Jones Ultimately Parted Ways With Mike McCarthy – Madison Williams, Sports Illustrated

The length of contract was the deal-breaker in resigning Mike McCarthy.

ESPN’s Todd Archer reported on Thursday that McCarthy was adamant about agreeing to a five-year contract extension with the team. However, owner Jerry Jones apparently was stuck on a three-year deal. Both sides couldn’t agree on a deal, although the details of the contract the Cowboys offered McCarthy are unknown.

It was previously reported that McCarthy “surprised” Jones by walking away from the negotiations. McCarthy has decided to not pursue any head coaching roles in the NFL for the 2025 season as the New Orleans Saints job is the only one still open.

The Cowboys hired offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as McCarthy’s replacement. Schottenheimer agreed to a four-year deal with the team.

Lunda Wells, Cowboys agree to terms on contract extension – Patrik Walker, DallasCowboys.com

The Cowboys’ 2025 coaching staff will include some consistency by extending Lunda Wells.

The heralded tight ends coach has agreed to terms on a contract extension that will keep him in the organization going forward, and that can only be seen as great news for Schottenheimer’s plans on offense and the continued development of talent like Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker.

A native of Louisiana, Wells began his coaching career as an offensive line coach at the high school level before joining LSU as an offensive line assistant. He’d then land a promotion with the Tigers to assistant head coach and assistant special teams coach, ascending to the NFL when he signed on to become offensive line quality control coach of the New York Giants in 2012.

His path ultimately led him to becoming the tight ends coach for the Giants before bringing those talents to the Cowboys in 2020, where he’s helped make household names out of Dalton Schultz and Jake Ferguson — two former fourth-round picks — Ferguson having earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2023.

Fizzling Cowboys have lost their buzz. Here’s a quick way Jerry Jones can bring it back – Kevin Sherrington, Dallas Morning News

Will drafting Ashton Jeanty bring excitement back to Dallas?

The notion of using the 12th pick on a player who could give you a running start on catching Saquon Barkley and the Eagles, not to mention open vistas for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, would certainly be appealing. The Boise State whirlwind would make play-calling easier for the new head coach. He’d top Rookie of the Year odds. He’d sell tickets and merch and hope…

…Believe this: Jeanty’s talent will tempt more than just Jerry. The sight of Barkley running away from everyone this season as well as the resurgence of Derrick Henry will no doubt cause a reset in an undervalued market. Because defenses are harder than ever to diagnose, offenses need to counter with more playmakers wherever possible.

The Cowboys, in particular, need more playmakers…

…Jerry needs something to fire up a fan base that watched him sit on his hands last offseason, burning another year of their thinning patience. Letting Mike McCarthy walk satisfied some. But an incompetent search culminating in a first-time head coach at 51 didn’t answer the question of what “all in” really meant.

NFL insider’s diary: Cowboys’ plan to get CeeDee Lamb some help – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda

The Cowboys may be taking a hard look at wide receiver early in the draft.

I’m told the team will look for a receiver during the first two rounds of the draft to pair with CeeDee Lamb, who they signed to a massive contract extension last August. Aging veteran Brandin Cooks will be a free agent come March, and the team has no true No. 2 receiver.

They will also look for help in the defensive front seven during the draft, specifically to stop the run. Dallas was the fourth-worst rushing defense in the league last season, surrendering 2,331 yards. Mazi Smith, the team’s 2023 first-round pick, has been a disappointment, and veteran middle linebacker Eric Kendricks is a free agent.

Dallas also wants to resign center Brock Hoffman, yet they are debating how much to pay him. Hoffman is a restricted free agent coming off his terrific 2024 season, meaning he can’t really test the market despite the fact that teams other than the Cowboys are interested in him. Scenarios include Dallas placing a tender on him, which would guarantee his pay for at least one year or allow him to negotiate a deal that the Cowboys could then match. Of course, signing him to a multi-year deal is also an option.

Finally, Dallas will likely look for a new offensive line coach, as they are not happy with the development of the unit. There’s a possibility they bring in a new offensive line coach to work with or replace Mike Solari, who presently leads the unit.

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly considering Ken Dorsey as their next offensive coordinator. Dorsey, who most recently served as the quarterbacks coach for the Buffalo Bills, is known for his strong offensive acumen and ability to develop young quarterbacks.

With the Cowboys looking to revamp their offense after a disappointing season, Dorsey could be the perfect fit to help turn things around. His experience working with quarterbacks like Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield could prove valuable in helping Dak Prescott reach his full potential.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, the potential addition of Dorsey to the coaching staff is certainly exciting news for Cowboys fans. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

  • Ken Paxton considering US Senate run against John Cornyn: reports

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is considering a run for US Senate, according to new reports.

A run against current Senator John Cornyn would be a test of the split in the Texas Republican Party.

Ken Paxton gauging interest in Senate run

Ken Paxton, Texas attorney general, during the Republican National Convention (RNC) at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Former President Donald Trump tapped JD Vance as his running mate, elevating to the Republ

While speaking to Republican Party members in Denton County on Monday night, Paxton listed several Republicans he wants to remove from the Texas GOP for not being conservative enough, according to FOX News.

Cornyn, who has served in the US Senate since 2002, made Paxton’s list.

“The second thing we need to do, and I might play a role in this, is replace John Cornyn in the U.S. Senate.” Paxton said.

In an interview with FOX News Digital, Paxton says despite “loving what I’m doing … I’m looking potentially at the U.S. Senate.”

A source close to Paxton told FOX News Digital that the attorney general “plans to spend the next few months meeting with voters, donors and grassroots activists across the state to gauge interest and decide how he can serve Texas best.”

A deciding factor for Paxton could be if his close ally and friend, President Donald Trump, would throw his support behind a primary challenge for Cornyn.

    The backstory:

Paxton has hinted at a possible Senate run since he was acquitted in his 2023 impeachment trial.

Cornyn spoke out against Paxton ahead of the political trial, saying he was troubled by the allegations against the attorney general.

After his acquittal, Paxton turned his sights against Cornyn.

Paxton has consistently referred to Cornyn as a RINO, or a “Republican in name only.”

“I’ve seen how guys like John Cornyn have represented the State of Texas and not represented us, I think it’s time somebody needs to step up and run against this guy that will do the job and do it the right way,” Paxton told former FOX News host Tucker Carlson.

During his time as attorney general, Paxton has made a name for himself nationally, with several high-profile lawsuits against the Biden administration, and companies like Meta and Google.

Prior to becoming attorney general, Paxton was a member of the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate.

    John Cornyn

Cornyn has already announced his intention to run in 2026.

Cornyn has not lost an election in Texas.

He was elected to the Texas Supreme Court in 1990, won an attorney general race in 1998 and then defeated a crowded field to become US Senator in 2002.

While in the Senate, Cornyn has served as both the majority and minority whip. He is currently the chair of the Senate Narcotics Caucus.

In recent months, he has also been a vocal supporter of Trump’s Cabinet picks and has slammed Democrats for delaying confirmations for key positions. In a speech on the Senate floor earlier this month, he said, “Our first and most urgent task is to confirm President Trump’s nominees for his Cabinet.”

    2026 Elections

    What’s next:

The 2026 elections will be important in Texas.

In addition to voting for US Senate, Texans will have an opportunity to vote for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, among several other positions.

Primary elections will be held in March with runoff elections in May.

The Source: Information in this article comes from FOX News Digital and past FOX coverage.

    Texas PoliticsTexasKen Paxton

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is reportedly considering a run for the US Senate against incumbent Senator John Cornyn. According to sources close to Paxton, he is weighing his options and has not made a final decision yet.

Paxton, who has served as Texas Attorney General since 2015, is known for his conservative views and strong support for President Trump. He has been a vocal critic of Cornyn’s leadership in the Senate, particularly on issues such as immigration and border security.

If Paxton decides to run against Cornyn, it could set up a contentious primary battle within the Republican Party. Both candidates have strong support among conservative voters in Texas, and the race would likely be closely watched by political observers nationwide.

  • Ken Fisher’s surprise prediction for the stock market in 2025

Last month, during the thick of the holidays, I found myself in a rare though not totally unprecedented predicament: I wasn’t sure which way to bet on the stock market in the year ahead.

In my December column, I told you there were three possible 2025 outcomes – all of them seemingly likely, and to a vexingly similar degree. I also told you that I’d come back to you when I could conclude which is, in fact, the most likely.

Well, I’m back – and with an answer that has surprised me in more ways than one.

American investors hate losses more than they love comparable sized gains Getty Images

Recall the three possible outcomes I had outlined: A minor decline, a small single-digit positive year, or another big year like 2023’s and 2024’s gains. I also said the latter was the least expected and would shock the most people because three big years in a row is legendarily rare.

Now, I dare say – brace for the legendarily rare. That’s because I believe that what is most likely is a stock market gain of 15% to 25% – maybe slightly bigger.

There is, however, also one major twist here that came even less expected for me – and which hence may be even more universally shocking. The twist is that European stocks should lead, quietly but strongly, as my forecast above is for the MSCI World index. The S&P 500 should lag Europe.

What has changed since year-end?  As I said then, I would keep researching for signs of sentiment that would swing direction and that the swing would happen soon.

I also told you that US investors were optimistic while foreign ones were pessimistic. As it turns out, the overseas pessimism is extreme – vastly more depressed overall than Americans are optimistic. Hence, even a moderate year for foreign GDP, particularly European, would lead to huge positive surprise for them. They’re just more sensitive right now.

Decades ago, behaviorists proved American investors hate losses more than they love comparable sized gains – about 2 ½ times as much. My former research partner Meir Statman and I then deployed the same methodology showing UK and German investors are even more skittish about losses, by factors of 4 to 1 and 6 to 1, respectively.

Overseas pessimism is extreme, and the twist is that European stocks should lead. EPA

Europeans are just more risk averse than Americans. I’ve long known that. Seemingly few remember it.

Now, I’ve discovered how much more that is the case right now than usual, as absolute Trump terror overwhelms Europeans — hugely more than was measurable in December. It is shockingly so, almost beyond words. Since the US election, they have become extraordinarily pessimistic. It is as if they were MSNBC commentators, only without the occasional smiles and jokes.

And, so, European stocks are too depressed and, also but less so, most non-US markets. So, most, but of course not all, are quietly beating the S&P 500 year to date. Britain, Germany and Israel have actually hit new all-time highs in 2025.

Coupled to that, inherent in the make-up of American versus foreign stocks, value stocks, meaning statistically cheaper on earnings and other measures than pricier growth stocks, should outshine growth stocks — for the first sustained time in years.

But why do I say it is “inherent”? In industry sectors America and growth stocks are intertwined. By market cap weighting almost all growth stocks are American. Tech and Communication Services total over 40% of the S&P 500, almost none of Europe.

Hence, when growth stocks like the Magnificent 7 lag the market, as evidenced by the Nasdaq lagging the S&P 500 even when both rise, value must be leading. Europe too! But this is more than just sectors. It is also country sentiment.

Since the US election, Europeans have become extraordinarily pessimistic. AP

You doubt me?  OK, but it is happening right in front of your eyes. Grab your iPhone. Use its normal Apple News stock market app to look up the S&P 500, the Nasdaq composite, and MSCI Europe. There it is. Europe leads.

And if you look at specific European countries you will see it broadly spread except Denmark (which is mostly Novo Nordisk weakness). Said otherwise, Europe is leading the S&P 500 which is leading Nasdaq.

While at it, I’ll add that I expect Emerging Markets stocks to lag, as they fall mostly across categories I expect to lag like utilities and struggling commodities.

So please – cheer up and mind your geography as you think about stocks this year. And Happy 2025.

Ken Fisher is the founder and executive chairman of Fisher Investments, a four-time New York Times bestselling author, and regular columnist in 21 countries globally.

In a recent interview, renowned investor Ken Fisher shocked the financial world with his bold prediction for the stock market in 2025. Fisher, known for his contrarian views and uncanny ability to predict market trends, believes that by 2025, we will see a major shift in market dynamics.

According to Fisher, the traditional sectors that have long been considered safe bets, such as technology and healthcare, will start to underperform. Instead, he predicts that industries like renewable energy, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence will see explosive growth and become the new darlings of the stock market.

Fisher’s prediction has raised eyebrows among many investors, who are skeptical of such a drastic shift in market trends. However, Fisher has a track record of being ahead of the curve, and his insights are always worth considering.

As we approach 2025, it will be interesting to see if Fisher’s prediction comes to fruition and how it will impact the investment landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Ken Jennings Insists ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ Is “Legitimate” After Kelly Ripa Asks If The Questions Are “Dumbed Down” For Celebrity Contestants

According to Ken Jennings, Celebrity Jeopardy! is the real deal — well, mostly.

The Jeopardy! host stopped by Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday morning, and with Anderson Cooper sitting in for Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa found herself “sandwiched between two Jeopardy! titans.”

“I feel smarter just sitting here,” she quipped. “Why is that buzzer so difficult for people?”

As Jennings and Cooper dished on how tough the buzzer can be, the latter recalled his experiences competing on the trivia game show.

“During commercial breaks, the times I played, all the other contestants were like, ‘There’s something wrong with this buzzer,’” Cooper explained.

Jennings teased, “I think that’s because you were on Celebrity Jeopardy! ‘Things are not going well for me, a celebrity! Something is clearly wrong with this. With the technology. This should not happen.’”

After Cooper admitted “that’s 100% true,” Ripa chimed in and asked, “Is it true, in fact, that the Celebrity Jeopardy! questions are, as Anderson likes to say, ‘dumbed down’ for the celebrities?”

Jennings said, “We do not use the phrase ‘dumbed down,’ for some reason.”

    Photo: ABC

    Photo: ABC

Ripa clarified her question by asking if the puzzles are “less smart” than the flagship series, while Cooper suggested that they are “gentler.”

Jennings replied, “That’s well put. It’s more pleasant… I feel like SNL gave everybody the idea that Celebrity Jeopardy! is just, like, remedial.”

Cooper acknowledged that “it’s hard,” as Jennings insisted that “it’s legitimate Jeopardy!

“That’s stuff that would be on the board on any daily Jeopardy! show,” he continued. “But these are people who have put themselves on the line and they’re playing for charity. And we want them to look like they’re having fun and playing well.”

However, Ripa claimed that sometimes “it doesn’t look like they’re having fun.”

“Sometimes when they’re being portrayed or they’re portraying themselves as maybe not knowledgeable about anything, it doesn’t look like they’re having a good time,” she joked. “No matter what their charity is.”

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. Check out their website for your local listings.

Ken Jennings, the legendary Jeopardy! champion and current guest host of the popular quiz show, has come to the defense of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” after Kelly Ripa raised questions about the difficulty level of the questions on the celebrity edition.

During a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ripa asked Jennings if the questions on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” are “dumbed down” for the celebrity contestants. Jennings was quick to respond, insisting that the questions on the celebrity edition are just as challenging and legitimate as those on the regular version of the show.

Jennings went on to explain that while some viewers may perceive the questions on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” to be easier, this is simply due to the fact that the contestants are not professional trivia experts like him. He emphasized that the questions are tailored to the diverse range of knowledge and interests of the celebrity contestants, but are still held to the same rigorous standards as the regular version of the show.

As someone who has proven his trivia prowess time and time again, Ken Jennings’ endorsement of the legitimacy of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” carries significant weight. So next time you tune in to watch your favorite celebrities compete on the iconic game show, rest assured that they are being put to the test with real, challenging questions.

  • Ken Jennings’ Bold Claim About ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ Contestants

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Ken Jennings set high expectations for viewers regarding the current season of Celebrity Jeopardy!

On Tuesday, January 21, the 50-year-old game show host appeared on Good Morning America to talk about the third season of the spinoff series. Jennings claimed that the group competing might be the smartest A-listers the show has witnessed, citing celebrity astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson as an example.

“These folks are smart. A lot of them are broadcasters, standup comics. We had Neil deGrasse Tyson. These might be our smartest celebrities ever,” Jennings stated. The TV personality then joked, “And that’s a high bar cuz we all know how smart celebrities are.”

Ken Jennings attends the ABC Television’s Winter Press Tour 2020 at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena on January 08, 2020 in Pasadena, California.

The former Jeopardy! competitor also explained that the show, where the winning celebrity donates $1 million for a charity of their choosing, is not meant to be a Saturday Night Live parody but a real competition. “I just want to say for the record Celebrity Jeopardy! is not the SNL Celebrity Jeopardy! This is legit,” Jennings remarked.

Jennings later played a round of GMA‘s version of Jeopardy!, where he revealed what guest he would love to have on Celebrity Jeopardy!

The trivia posed to him was: “She’s the famous comedian behind the hit movie ‘Mean Girls’ who’s also your dream Celebrity Jeopardy guest.”

Jennings, of course, got the answer correct, stating, “Who is Tina Fey?” He then explained his reasoning: “I would love to book Tina Fey on Celebrity Jeopardy! She seems quick, maybe it’s just because celebrities with glasses always seem very smart to me.”

The GMA hosts also asked the game show extraordinaire which four competitors in the show’s history would make up his “Mount Rushmore.” Jennings did not name any celebrities or regular competitors as he stated, “There’s too many great contestants to fit on a mountain.”

Instead, Jennings said, “My Mount Rushmore would be Alex Trebek, obviously. The reasons I liked the show as a kid. The announcer, Johnny Gilbert, he’s a legend he’s in his 90s. And maybe just Merv and Julann Griffin, the husband and wife who created the show.”

Catch Celebrity Jeopardy! Wednesday’s at 9:00 P.M. ET on ABC.

Ken Jennings, the all-time Jeopardy! champion, recently made a bold claim about the contestants on ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ In a recent interview, Jennings stated that celebrity contestants often underestimate the difficulty of the questions and the level of competition on the show.

Jennings, who has competed against numerous celebrity contestants over the years, believes that many celebrities come into the game thinking it will be easy or that they can rely on their fame to carry them through. However, he emphasized that ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ is just as challenging as the regular version of the show, and the questions are just as tough.

Jennings also mentioned that some celebrities may not take the game as seriously as they should, leading to subpar performances on the show. He encouraged future celebrity contestants to study and prepare just like any other contestant would, in order to have the best chance of success.

Overall, Jennings’ claim serves as a reminder that ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ is not to be taken lightly, and that even the most famous faces in Hollywood can struggle to keep up with the rigorous competition on the iconic game show.

  • Ken Jennings reveals who’s on his personal ‘Jeopardy!’ Mount Rushmore

Ken Jennings is revealing which “Jeopardy!” icons would be on his version of Mount Rushmore.

Appearing on “Good Morning America” Tuesday, Jennings responded to a viral trend which has “Jeopardy!” fans debating which four contestants would be on the game show’s version of the famous American landmark, which features the faces of four U.S. presidents.

Camilla Luddington, Neil deGrasse Tyson and more to compete on ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ season 3

“That’s tricky,” Jennings admitted. “I mean, for me, there’s too many great contestants to fit on a mountain.”

Instead, the game show host said he would tap into “the reasons I liked the show as a kid” to decide which four names he would choose.

“My Mount Rushmore would be Alex Trebek, obviously,” he said. “The announcer Johnny Gilbert; he’s a legend, he’s in his 90s. And maybe just Merv and Julann Griffin, the husband and wife who created the show.”

When pressed by the “GMA” hosts to put himself in the mix, Jennings jokingly turned down the honor, saying, “I can be the ranger giving the tour.”

Elsewhere in his “GMA” interview, Jennings revealed his dream “Celebrity Jeopardy!” contestant: “Mean Girls” writer and “30 Rock” creator Tina Fey.

  • Ken Jennings Is the ‘Cheapest Hosting Option’ for ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ Season 3 and Beyond

Ken Jennings is thrilled he’s been confirmed as the host of Celebrity Jeopardy! season 3, but a source close to his Sony TV bosses says it’s largely because he’s the cheap and cheerful option.

“Ken’s been pretty clear from the beginning of his hosting journey that he’s not driven by money as much as he’s driven by a deep love for this game show that totally changed his life and made him world-famous,” the insider exclusively tells Closer. “That’s an admirable position for him to take, but it also gives the bosses at Sony TV all the power when it comes to his relationship with them.”

The source adds that the executives “know they can pay [Ken] a fraction of what they would have to pay a well-known celebrity, comedian or even a professional game show host.”

The insider continues, “As to his ascension to hosting the celebrity edition of the show, sure, it means a little more money for Ken, but the focus for Sony is to keep the overall franchise profitable and the more they use Ken, the more money they save — he is unquestionably the cheapest hosting option who fans actually know and like and who won’t ruin the show.”

For these reasons, the source predicts that Ken, 50, is “going to be in this role for a long time. He’s not going to lose this job over money, that’s for sure!”

The former computer programmer was announced as the host of Celebrity Jeopardy! season 3 in December 2024 after he previously took on the gig for season 2, which aired from September 2023 to January 2024.

“Ken’s ready for the new season of #CelebrityJeopardy!, are you? Watch the season premiere January 8 at a NEW TIME, 9/8c on ABC, and stream on Hulu!” the official Jeopardy! Instagram account shared.

Ken, who set a record for the most consecutive Jeopardy! wins in history with 74 victories in 2004, became a part-time host of the game show after Alex Trebek’s death in 2020. He split the hosting duties with Mayim Bialik. However, he took over as full-time host after Mayim, 49, withdrew from her role in 2023.

In an interview with Rolling Stone published on January 7, Ken recalled having a time after Alex’s death when he wasn’t sure if he wanted to take over.

“Everybody there was very emotional, and I had to be the one talking through it, even though I probably knew him least of all 100 people on set, crew and the staff. It was very scary,” he admitted. “You’re aware that the audience does not want you there. They’re like me, they want the other guy, and I was missing him too. I’m like, ‘I don’t want to be here. I would give anything to not be here right now.’”

However, Ken overcame his anxieties about hosting Jeopardy!. Now, he doesn’t want to go anywhere, despite mixed chatter from viewers about his skills as a host, a source exclusively told Closer in August 2024.

“He’s desperate to make it work and has no intention of leaving of his own accord,” the insider said. “Ken’s well aware of the noise and tittle-tattle, and privately he would acknowledge these are tough times — especially with Colin Jost coming on to host Pop Culture Jeopardy! and fans calling him awkward, which is hard to take. But he’s insisting there’s a share of blame here. He doesn’t write the lines or pick the questions and contestants, and won’t be made a scapegoat!”

Ken Jennings, the beloved Jeopardy champion and all-time highest-earning game show contestant, has officially been announced as the “cheapest hosting option” for the upcoming season 3 of ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ and beyond.

After a successful run as guest host following the tragic passing of Alex Trebek, Jennings has proven to be a fan-favorite and a natural fit for the role. With his quick wit, vast knowledge, and charming demeanor, Jennings has won over audiences and critics alike.

In a statement, the producers of ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ praised Jennings for his hosting abilities, stating that he brings a unique energy and charisma to the show that is unmatched. They also noted that Jennings comes at a fraction of the cost of other potential hosts, making him the “cheapest hosting option” for the popular game show.

Fans of ‘Jeopardy’ are thrilled with the news, as they believe Jennings will continue to honor the legacy of Alex Trebek while putting his own spin on the role. With Jennings at the helm, ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ is sure to remain a must-watch for years to come.

So mark your calendars and get ready to tune in to ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ season 3, hosted by the one and only Ken Jennings. It’s going to be an exciting ride!
