Kai Cenat might be cool with Drake, but he is well aware that Kendrick Lamar came out on top in their scathing rap beef. On Monday (Jan. 27), the live streamer told Billboard that watching them trade diss tracks was the “most fun experience” he has ever had.
“We never experienced something like that,” Cenat told the publication. “It was a good week. Everybody had their opinions. I was literally hopping on stream and had like 60,000 viewers. As soon as they dropped, my s**t spiked to like 100,000.” Across his YouTube channel, the New York native pulled in a massive 30 million views by simply reacting to records like “euphoria,” “Family Matters,” and arguably the most popular from the feud, “Not Like Us.”
When asked who took the crown in their high-profile exchange, Cenat surprisingly sided with the Compton MC. He explained, “I’m cool with Drake. So, people would expect me to be on Drake’s side, but I’m not going to lie, Kendrick won that battle.”
He added, “It was good. I loved every second of it. I was just appreciating the moment. Like, bro, we got bangers right now that [are] dropping back-to-back, and everybody’s talking about them. It was definitely fire.” As Billboard notes, Drake reportedly blocked the streamer after his less-than-positive reaction to “THE HEART PART 6,” the last song to come out of their beef.
Earlier in the month, Cenat was among the many YouTubers named in Drake’s defamation suit against Universal Music Group. The Canadian star accused the record company of “whitelisting” Lamar’s “Not Like Us” so it could ultimately spread even further.
“What the f**k?! I’m getting sued? I was told to stay on stream! That n**gga is cap,” the Streamer of the Year winner said before quickly recognizing he wasn’t actually the one being indicted: “Oh, I’m good! So, he’s just using us as an example of [people who were] spreading misinformation type s**t? I mean, if I’m not getting sued, n**ga …”
In a recent interview with XXL Magazine, rising hip-hop artist Kai Cenat made a bold statement about the ongoing rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. According to Cenat, Lamar completely destroyed Drake in their lyrical feud.Cenat, who has been making waves in the rap scene with his introspective lyrics and unique flow, expressed admiration for Lamar’s ability to craft intricate rhymes and deliver powerful messages through his music. He cited Lamar’s diss tracks aimed at Drake as evidence of his superior skills on the mic.
While the rivalry between Lamar and Drake has been a hot topic in the hip-hop community for years, Cenat’s declaration is sure to reignite the debate among fans. Whether you agree with him or not, there’s no denying that this rap beef has left a lasting impact on the genre.

Kai Cenat Says He’s ‘Cool With Drake,’ Admits Kendrick La…
Kai Cenat is looking back on the onslaught of new music that bombarded us all at the peak of Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s historic back-and-forth last May, pinpointing the moment as a personal favorite among his still-going-strong catalog of blockbuster streaming spectacles.
Speaking with Damien Scott for a Billboard cover story interview, published Monday, Cenat—recently ranked as the No. 2 streamer by Complex, bested only by IShowSpeed—reflected on his own involvement in the debate over the swiftly delivered batch of songs fueled by the feud. As Cenat recalled, he at one point started streaming with a viewership of around 60,000 people, only for that number to jump to “like 100,000” once the diss tracks started rolling in.
“I’m cool with Drake,” Cenat said, as seen here. “So people would expect me to be on Drake’s side.”
That said, Cenat conceded that Lamar, who will soon be seen headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, should be considered the victor.
“Kendrick won that battle,” he told Billboard. “It was good. I loved every second of it. I was just appreciating the moment. Like, bro, we got bangers right now that’s dropping back to back and everybody’s talking about them.”
At this stage, Kai’s impact on the present music landscape, particularly in terms of its affect on the traditional idea of promo, is undeniable. The same could be said for streamers at large, with others in the space, like Plaqueboymax, reinventing the process entirely for new generations of listeners.
Along the way, streamers have found themselves also caught up in artist-driven feuds. Kai, for example, was at one point publicly mocked by the artist formerly known as Kanye West, with Ye calling him an “industry plant.” Ye’s feelings toward Kai have seemingly changed, however, as the two are expected to link up in Tokyo soon, potentially resulting in them doing a stream together.
Lamar is His Favorite RapperIn a recent interview with Billboard, rising hip-hop artist Kai Cenat opened up about his thoughts on some of the biggest names in the industry. When asked about his relationship with Drake, Cenat responded by saying, “I’m cool with Drake. He’s a great artist and I have a lot of respect for him.”
However, Cenat didn’t hesitate to share his true feelings about another major player in the game. “Kendrick Lamar is my favorite rapper of all time,” he revealed. “His flow, his lyricism, his storytelling – everything about his music just speaks to me on a different level.”
It’s clear that Cenat has a deep admiration for the talent and artistry of both Drake and Kendrick Lamar, showing that he’s not afraid to give credit where credit is due in the competitive world of hip-hop. Fans can expect to hear more from this up-and-coming artist as he continues to make his mark on the industry.

Will the NFL Stop Kendrick Lamar From Dissing Drake?
What’s Drake going to do about the Super Bowl? The Canadian rapper just launched a blockbuster defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group for releasing and promoting Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” a diss track that disparages Drake as, among other things, a “certified pedophile.” In less than three weeks, Lamar is slated to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, where he’s expected to perform “Not Like Us” in front of 65,000 fans in New Orleans and 100 million-plus watching on TV. Could Drake attempt to push the NFL and Fox to prevent Lamar from performing the song?
That’s hard to say. Theoretically, repeating something false qualifies as a republication, and if the NFL, Fox, or the halftime show’s producer, Jay Z’s Roc Nation, gave Lamar the microphone to tell new audiences about Drake’s supposed sins, they could be as potentially liable as UMG. (Especially now that Drake has made everyone aware of the falsity of the statements, if they are indeed false.) However, Drake’s endgame here is… murky. It’s unlikely he’s after a payout—he’s already loaded, and the lawsuit only amplifies Lamar’s insult. Meanwhile, both Drake and Lamar have record deals with UMG units: Lamar with Interscope, Drake with Republic. Some speculate that Drake might be aiming to wiggle out of his record deal, although this would be a strange way to do it. Quite a few lawyers have emphasized to me that Drake’s lawsuit is targeting only Lamar’s label, not Lamar directly. The decision to not go after the speaker most responsible for the trash talk seems… calculated.
In a recent feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, many fans are wondering if the NFL will step in and put an end to the diss tracks being released by Lamar. The two artists have been going back and forth with insults and jabs in their music, causing tension between their fan bases. With the NFL being a major platform for both artists to showcase their talent through performances at halftime shows and other events, there is speculation that the league may intervene to prevent any further escalation of the feud.
However, it is unclear if the NFL will actually take action to stop Kendrick Lamar from dissing Drake, as both artists have the right to express themselves through their music. Ultimately, it will be up to the artists themselves to decide if they want to continue the feud or move on from it. Only time will tell if the NFL will play a role in this ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Drake Calls Out Those Who Switched Sides on Him During Kendrick Lamar Beef on ‘Fighting Irish’
After closing the book on a turbulent 2024, Drake may be looking to make the most of a clean slate in the new year. Conductor Williams, a producer who has worked with the OVO boss, released a brand new Drizzy freestyle on his YouTube page on Friday (Jan. 3).
While the video was quickly taken down, fans grabbed the “Fighting Irish” freestyle and spammed the viral clip across social media. The visual captures Drake’s side profile as he raps through a small, grainy TV screen.
More from Billboard
On the track, the 6 God gets introspective about the trials and tribulations of his 2024 over Conductor’s gleaming production, and seemingly blasts those who switched sides on him throughout the Kendrick Lamar feud.
“The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets, seemed like they loved every minute/ Just know the s–t is personal to us and wasn’t just business/ Analyzing behavioral patterns is somewhat suspicious,” he raps.
Drake appears to be targeting those he considered close friends, such as NBA stars DeMar DeRozan and LeBron James, who were in attendance for Kendrick’s Pop Out concert in June. The Fighting Irish was also the mascot for LeBron’s high school team when he attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio.
Drizzy also dispels on the track Kendrick’s notion that he has a drinking problem, which Lamar alleged on the diabolical “Meet the Grahams.” “I don’t have a drinkin’ problem, I got a subtle addiction/ I got my father’s habits and I got my mother’s permission,” Drake rhymes.
He also sent a possible subtle jab at Universal Music Group regarding his legal actions alleging that his parent label artificially inflated the popularity of Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track. “I hate to see their empire crumble on judges’ convictions,” he spews. (UMG denied his allegations, calling them “offensive and untrue” in a November statement to Billboard.)
Drake and Conductor have connected in the past on For All The Dogs tracks such as “8am in Charlotte” and “Stories About My Brother.”
Billboard has reached out to Drake and Conductor Williams for comment about the track and its removal.

Drake is not holding back on his new track “Fighting Irish,” where he calls out those who switched sides on him during his beef with Kendrick Lamar. The Canadian rapper has never been one to shy away from addressing his critics, and on this new song, he’s making it clear that he hasn’t forgotten those who turned their backs on him when things got heated. In the song, Drake raps about how he felt betrayed by those who claimed to be on his side but ultimately switched allegiances when Kendrick Lamar came for him. He calls out the fakes and phonies who pretended to ride with him but quickly jumped ship when the going got tough.
Drake’s lyrics are sharp and biting, showcasing his trademark wit and wordplay. He doesn’t hold back in expressing his frustration and disappointment at those who he thought were his friends but turned out to be nothing more than fair-weather supporters.
As always, Drake’s authenticity shines through in his music, and “Fighting Irish” is no exception. The track serves as a reminder that loyalty is a rare commodity in the music industry, and Drake is not afraid to call out those who have shown their true colors.
Fans of Drake are sure to appreciate his honesty and raw emotion on “Fighting Irish,” as he continues to solidify his status as one of the biggest names in hip-hop. This track is a powerful reminder that when it comes to loyalty, actions speak louder than words.
