Mack has played in at least 16 games in his three seasons with the Chargers, and finished the 2024 season with six sacks, down from 17 in 2023.
Mack has been named to nine Pro Bowls during his 11-year career, which also included stints with the Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears. The Bears traded Mack to the Chargers prior to the 2022 season. In 2016, Mack’s third season in the NFL, he was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Nine-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Khalil Mack, who said after the Chargers‘ postseason loss to the Texans that he needed to take some time to mull his future, will indeed play in the 2025 season, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
Mack, 33, is set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his 11-year NFL career.
Mack, a Defensive Player of the Year winner (2016) and one of the most decorated outside linebackers in NFL history, had six sacks this season — and two more in the Chargers’ 32-12 wild-card loss at Houston.
He has 107.5 sacks in his career.

If it shakes out that Mack’s market is around that $19 million annually range, one has to think the Chargers would be all over it, though, even with the risk that Father Time takes a chunk out of his production.
