‘Even you wouldn’t kill a dog’
The eldest child of Donald Trump revealed how the president-elect reacted to Kristi Noem’s admission that she fatally shot her dog.
The South Dakota governor, now Trump’s pick for Homeland Security Secretary, confessed in her memoir to shooting her 14-month-old wire-haired pointer Cricket two decades ago. The confession was met with shock and outrage, and many believed her hopes for being his vice president had ended.
Donald Trump Jr. recalled his father’s reaction to the shocking tale to Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt, who detailed it in his upcoming book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power.
“That’s not good at all,” Donald Trump reportedly told his son, according to the New York Post, which obtained a copy of the book.
“Even you wouldn’t kill a dog, and you kill everything,” the 78-year-old Republican said, referring to his son’s frequent outdoor adventures.

In her book No Going Back, Noem wrote: “I hated that dog.” She added that Cricket was “untrainable,” “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog.”
“At that moment,” Noem continued, “I realized I had to put her down.” She admitted that “it was not a pleasant job… it had to be done”.
The dog-killing story emerged as Trump was weighing his pick for running mate; Noem was considered to be on his veep shortlist, although she was reportedly “cast aside” long before the dog-killing story came to light.
Rumors of an affair between Noem and Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 2016 campaign manager, didn’t help the governor’s chances of joining the 2024 Republican ticket, Isenstadt wrote.
Noem has repeatedly denied the alleged romance.
On top of the romance rumors, the then-GOP candidate expressed some trepidation about picking Noem as his running mate. The duo met at Mar-a-Lago in February 2024, according to the book.

They discussed her state’s abortion ban, one of the strictest in the country, which stipulates the only exception to the ban is to save the pregnant person’s life.
“Trump came away impressed by Noem,” Isenstadt wrote, “but remained concerned about how her state’s laws could be used against her by Democrats.”
In response to the claims in the book, a spokesperson for Noem said: “This wouldn’t be the first time that [the author] reported fake conversations that Governor Noem never had … As I have said many times, the allegation of an affair is completely false. She never had conversations with President Trump or his team about a nonexistent affair. I look forward to seeing [the] book on the ‘fiction’ shelves.”
Steven Cheung, a Trump transition team spokesperson, also responded to the forthcoming book’s allegations. “President Trump achieved a historic victory because he laid out a bold vision for this country after four disastrous years of Joe Biden,” he said. “We will not dignify these types of salacious and unverified stories that have nothing to do with helping the American people or Making America Great Again.”
The Independent has contacted representatives for Lewandowski, Noem and Trump for comment.
I’m sure we can all agree that there are some lines that should never be crossed, and harming an innocent animal is definitely one of them. In a world filled with so much negativity and cruelty, our furry friends provide us with unconditional love and companionship. So let’s all take a stand and say, “Even you wouldn’t kill a dog.” Let’s protect and cherish our four-legged friends, because they truly deserve nothing but kindness and compassion. #StopAnimalCruelty #ProtectOurPets

Donald Trump told Donald Trump Jr. about Kristi Noem, ‘Even you wouldn’t kill a dog,’ book claims
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was in President-elect Donald Trump’s doghouse after she crowed in a memoir published last year about butchering a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer named Cricket.
Despite his well-known dislike of pooches, Trump, now 78, understood the subsequent backlash against Noem, even making a joke of the situation with his eldest son, Don Jr. — known for his love of exotic hunting trips.
“’That’s not good at all,’ Trump told Don Jr., an avid hunter,” Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt reveals in his forthcoming book, “Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power.”
Donald Trump Jr. has traveled the world to go on elaborate hunting trips. Hunting Legends/Flickr.com “Even you wouldn’t kill a dog, and you kill everything,” added the elder Trump to his son, according to an excerpt of Isenstadt’s book shared with The Post Tuesday.
The furor quashed Noem’s chances of becoming Trump’s running mate after she had been considered a strong contender for the job, sources close to the then-candidate told The Post at the time.
“I hated that dog,” the governor wrote of Cricket in the book “No Going Back,” published this past May.
Noem, now 53, described Cricket as both “untrainable” with an “aggressive personality” and a bad hunting companion who was “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with.”
The Department of Homeland Security secretary-designate, who is set to face a confirmation hearing Wednesday, has defended her killing of Cricket as an example of a tough decision of the type that leaders frequently have to make.
At one point in the book, the governor appeared to suggest that President Biden should have followed her example when dealing with Commander, his German shepherd who had bitten Secret Service agents and others.
The South Dakota governor is an avid hunter. Facebook / Kristi Noem “What would I do if I was president on the first day in office in 2025? Thanks for asking. I happen to have a list. The first thing I’d do is make sure Joe Biden’s dog was nowhere on the grounds (‘Commander, say hello to Cricket for me’),” she wrote.
Ironically, Noem reportedly had attempted to mention the puppy-killing anecdote in her first book, 2022’s “Not My First Rodeo,” only to be overruled by her publisher.
Isenstadt’s book also reveals that the president-elect was both privy to and amused by gossip that Noem was having an extramarital affair with Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s first 2016 campaign manager and a longtime confidant.
“Lewandowski, Trump said, knew how to bat out of his league,” Isenstadt writes in the tome, adding that the New York-born real estate mogul dubbed Noem Lewandowski’s “girlfriend” and would “raise an eyebrow mischievously” when the topic came up within earshot.
In September 2023, The Post reported on accusations from inside Trump’s orbit that Noem and Lewandowski were having an “absurdly blatant and public” affair.
One source familiar with the matter told The Post they saw the couple making out at a hotel bar during the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Fla. Another recounted Noem sitting on Lewandowski’s lap and “playing grab-ass” at Mar-a-Lago back in December 2020.
Kristi Noem has posed for pictures with her hunting dogs. Facebook / Kristi Noem Isenstadt recounts that the rumors didn’t help Noem’s vice presidential odds, writing the governor and Lewandowski “were together all the time, and Lewandowski followed the governor around like a puppy dog. Trump advisers had seen Lewandowski … slap her on the butt … Trump’s aides knew if Noem was picked, her relationship with Lewandowski would become one hell of a distraction.”
Lewandowski, who did a stint as a political aide to Noem and is now assisting her with the DHS transition effort, joined Trump’s orbit again for the final two months of the 2024 race as an adviser to the campaign’s senior leadership team.
“Aides noticed that shortly after [Lewandowski joined the campaign in September], he paraded Kristi Noem through headquarters. To staffers, it felt like he was showing off his woman,” the book explained.
President-elect Donald Trump ultimately passed over Kristi Noem in the veepstakes. AFP via Getty Images The once and future president had still more concerns about the South Dakotan, according to the book.
In February 2024, the two Republicans met at Mar-a-Lago, where the then-candidate pressed the governor about her state’s abortion ban, which does not allow the procedure even in cases of rape or incest.
Noem claimed to Trump that she had inherited the law, which South Dakota voters have resisted loosening.
Excerpted from “Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power” by Alex Isenstadt. Grand Central Publishing “Trump came away impressed by Noem,” Isenstadt wrote, “but remained concerned about how her state’s laws could be used against her by Democrats.”
“President Trump achieved a historic victory because he laid out a bold vision for this country after four disastrous years of Joe Biden,” Trump transition spokesperson Steven Cheung told The Post about the claims in the book.
“We will not dignify these type of salacious and unverified stories that have nothing to do with helping the American people or Making America Great Again.”
Lewandowski has repeatedly declined to comment on the record about his association with Noem.
When contacted by The Post, a spokesperson for Noem shared a statement they gave Isenstadt, which read: “This wouldn’t be the first time that you reported fake conversations that Governor Noem never had … As I have said many times, the allegation of an affair is completely false. She never had conversations with President Trump or his team about a nonexistent affair. I look forward to seeing your book on the ‘fiction’ shelves.”
“Revenge” is due to hit stores on March 18.
In a shocking revelation, a new book claims that former President Donald Trump once told his son, Donald Trump Jr., that even he wouldn’t kill a dog – all in reference to South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. The book, titled “The Trumps: A Family Dynasty,” alleges that Trump made the comment about Noem during a private conversation with his son. The statement was reportedly in response to Trump Jr. expressing frustration with Noem’s handling of certain political issues.
The author of the book, a former White House aide, claims that this anecdote sheds light on the strained relationship between Trump and Noem, despite her being a loyal supporter of the former president.
While the veracity of these claims remains to be confirmed, the alleged comment has sparked controversy and raised questions about the dynamics within the Trump family and their relationships with other prominent figures in politics.
It remains to be seen how this revelation will impact the ongoing political landscape and the future of the Trump family. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

Rev. Al Sharpton details MLK legacy march: ‘We’re not going to let them kill the dream’
As thousands crowd Downtown D.C. on Monday for Inauguration Day, where President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term in office, another march and rally to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held.
As thousands crowd Downtown D.C. on Monday for Inauguration Day, where President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term in office, another march and rally to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be held.
Rev. Al Sharpton, founder and president of the National Action Network, said at the annual MLK Day Birthday Breakfast on Wednesday that his group is planning a march at 10 a.m. Monday from McPherson Square to Metropolitan AME Church at 1518 M St. NW.
Sharpton spelled out the goals of the event to elected officials and civil rights leaders gathered at the Mayflower Hotel on Wednesday.
“Our rally, let me be clear, is not a rally to be like the insurrectionists of Jan. 6,” Sharpton said. “We are not rallying to protest an inauguration, we’re rallying to affirm the dream of Dr. King on Dr. King’s federal holiday — it’s a march of affirmation.”
While acknowledging that they “are meeting at a very precarious time,” a few days before the return of a Trump administration, Sharpton added that it’s “also at a time of great promise.”
“There will be no one way to handle this, and there’ll be no one strategy,” he said.
Instead, Sharpton said, “It’s going to be more important than ever that we all work in a unified way.”
He said the goal is to continue the work of the late Rev. King.
“We respect the process, even if we don’t like the results, but we’re not going to let them kill the dream, and we’re not going to let them bring us backward,” Sharpton said.
On Monday, Sharpton said he will outline an economic plan on “how we’re going to maintain DEI” — the diversity, equity and inclusion framework which has been widely criticized by Trump and fellow Congressional Republicans.
“They may have the votes in the House, they may have the votes in the Senate, but we control our dollars,” Sharpton said. “And we’re going to outline how those major corporations that want to end DEI, we want to end them having a diverse customer base.”
“If you don’t want us in the C-Suite, then you don’t want us in the supermarket,” Sharpton said. “I want those corporations to know there will be a cost for you crossing your consumers, and that nobody in Washington can make us buy where we’re not respected.”

Rev. Al Sharpton, a prominent civil rights activist and leader, recently detailed plans for a march to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The march, organized by Sharpton’s National Action Network, is set to take place on the anniversary of King’s assassination. In a passionate speech, Sharpton emphasized the importance of continuing Dr. King’s work and not letting his dream die. “We’re not going to let them kill the dream,” Sharpton declared to a crowd of supporters. He urged people to come together and stand up against injustice, racism, and inequality.
The march is intended to bring attention to ongoing issues such as police brutality, voter suppression, and economic inequality. Sharpton stressed the need for unity and action in order to create positive change in society.
As we approach the anniversary of Dr. King’s death, it is crucial to reflect on his legacy and continue the fight for justice and equality. Rev. Al Sharpton’s march serves as a powerful reminder of the work that still needs to be done and the importance of standing up for what is right. Let us honor Dr. King’s memory by joining together to uphold his dream of a more just and equitable society.

Ethel Cain has never been shy about speaking her mind, and now the singer is doubling down on saying we should “kill more CEOs” after Luigi Mangione‘s arrest, stating, “I genuinely mean what I say.”
On Friday, Cain spoke out about corrupt election officials in her Instagram stories with a quote from U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, describing how the NRA, Big Oil, and insurance companies influence Congress: “Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.” She added the hashtag “#KillMoreCEOs.”
Videos by VICE
Now, the singer is following up her controversial comments with even more ire. “I genuinely mean what I say,” she wrote in a new social media post. “Corporations giggle at protesting. Why would anyone ever willingly come down off their throne that they’ve spent years building off the suffering of their fellow man?”
“Nobody is getting visited by the ghost of Christmas future, no one is having a change of heart,” Cain added. “It’s simple, you make them fear for their lives and hit them in the only place they hurt or nothing will ever get done. I don’t even see how that’s an incredibly radical idea. It seems quite straightforward to me. ‘Violence is never the answer’ wrong. Sometimes it is.”
“The world is burning,” Cain concluded her post, “and it’s very clear who’s holding the matches.”
Ethel Cain Isn’t New to Expressing Her Views
Ethel Cain’s most recent comments are clearly motivated by the case of Luigi Mangione, who is charged with the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. They do not, however, represent her first taste of public commentary.
Following Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, Cain took to Tumblr to express her frustration.
“The problem is that America has beaten down its people for decades and gotten them weak and desperate and now promises a way out, a way to transcend and rise above, through selling out their fellow man,” she wrote. “An embarrassingly large chunk of white men are just straight up nazis these days as a way to dissociate from the rest of the carnage around them, even if they’re broke and uneducated and from an impoverished background themselves.”
Ethel Cain, an outspoken advocate for social justice and equality, has made waves with her recent statement calling for the killing of more CEOs following the arrest of Luigi Mangione. Mangione, a prominent CEO, was arrested for embezzlement and fraud, further fueling Cain’s belief that corporate executives are often corrupt and harmful to society. In a bold and controversial statement, Cain stated, “The arrest of Luigi Mangione is just the tip of the iceberg. We need to take drastic action against these wealthy and powerful individuals who exploit and oppress others for their own gain. Killing more CEOs may seem extreme, but it is necessary to bring about real change and hold these individuals accountable for their actions.”
While her call for violence may be shocking to some, Cain’s message resonates with many who feel that the wealthy elite often escape consequences for their harmful actions. As the wealth gap continues to widen and corporate greed runs rampant, Cain’s words serve as a powerful reminder of the need for systemic change and accountability in the business world.
It remains to be seen how society will respond to Cain’s provocative statement, but one thing is clear: the conversation around corporate accountability and the power dynamics within the business world is far from over.

Lucy Liu In ‘Kill Bill’ Quentin Tarantino Take On ‘The Grinch’
Saturday Night Live‘s Christmas episode recreated a Christmas classic — with a twist (and a cameo by Lucy Liu).
In a cut-for-time sketch, host Martin Short transformed into the Grinch for a retelling of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The story stayed on track until the Grinch, whose heart grew three sizes, went up the ladder to help Cindy Lou Who put a big star on top of Whoville’s Christmas tree.
However, he dropped it, and one gruesome accident led to another, with the Grinch inadvertently killing Cindy Lou’s parents, among others. Upset, she called upon her sister, Lucy Liu Who.
Channeling her character O-Ren Ishii from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Liu pulled a sword and exacted revenge on the Grinch — Tarantino style.
In the end, the video is revealed as to be a trailer for “Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Grinch.” You can watch it above.

Did she kill him too? Late husband of woman who made ‘arsenic-laced’ Christmas cake that killed her two sisters and niece will be dug up by Brazilian police months after he died ‘from food poisoning’
The late husband of a woman who baked an ‘arsenic-laced’ Christmas cake that killed her two sisters and niece is set to be exhumed by police over fears he may have been fatally poisoned months earlier.
Zeli Terezinha Silva dos Anjos, 61, from Torres, Brazil, prepared a traditional ‘Bolo de Natal’ Christmas cake for a festive family meal on December 23.
However, her sisters Maida, 58, and Neuza, 65, and Neuza’s daughter Tatiana, 43, all died shortly after eating it – with authorities later revealing that traces of the toxic metal arsenic were found in their bodies.
Three other family members, including Zeli herself and a 10-year-old boy – believed to be Tatiana’s son – fell ill and were also rushed to hospital.

Blood tests carried out by doctors revealed arsenic in the blood of some of the victims, a potent poison the symptoms of which cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Officer Marcos Vinicius Veloso, who is leading the case, said there are no records of inheritance disputes or rows between family members.
It is believed Zeli ate two cake slices and was the first one to be taken to hospital after becoming severely ill – where she remains in stable condition.
She has reportedly told police she bought some the ingredients on Monday before the gathering.
Police have not yet determined whether the victims were poisoned.
Tatiana and Maida are believed to have both suffered fatal heart attack while, Neuza died from ‘shock after food poisoning’.

A friend of one of the people who died told a local news channel it was a traditional cake that the family made every year.
Police have carried out an examination of the food eaten by the family and other items in the house, and many of them were expired.
Zeli is thought to have told the authorities about the time and place where the ingredients were purchased.
A police statement to local network, Globo, said: ‘We even have information that there was mayonnaise there that had expired a year ago.
‘There were expired products in the residence. A bottle was found, a medicine, which should have had capsules inside it and there were no capsules – there was a white liquid and this white liquid will also be examined.’
It’s understood that once Zeli has been released from hospital, she will be further questioned by investigators from the Civil Police.
Officials from the Hospital Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes de Torres said Tatiana and Maida both died from ‘cardiac arrest’.
While Neuza’s cause of death has been disclosed as ‘shock after food poisoning’.

The tragedy in Brazil follows a case in Australia in which a woman has been accused of killing her in-laws by allegedly poisoning them with wild mushrooms.
Erin Patterson, 48, is said to have invited her former partner Simon Patterson to her home for the meal on July 29. 2023, with his parents Gail and Tom Patterson, 70, along with Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson and her husband Ian, 68.
A day later, all four guests fell ill. Within a week, three would be dead, the fourth fighting for his life and the 48-year-old woman who cooked the lunch questioned by police amid claims she deliberately poisoned her relatives with wild mushrooms.
Patterson, who did not suffer any ill effects from the meal, previously claimed she had no idea the mushrooms she served were death caps – the most poisonous mushrooms in the world.
However, the 49-year-old has since been charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Her trial is expected to start on April 28, 2025, in the supreme court, sitting in Morwell.
The case of the ‘arsenic-laced’ Christmas cake that killed two sisters and a niece has taken a chilling twist as Brazilian police announce plans to dig up the late husband of the woman responsible for the deadly dessert. The woman, who remains unnamed, is currently serving a 30-year sentence for the murders of her family members after poisoning the cake with arsenic during a family gathering. However, suspicions have now been raised about the sudden death of her husband, who reportedly died from food poisoning just months before the tragic incident.
Authorities believe that the woman may have also been responsible for her husband’s death, possibly using the same deadly tactics to eliminate him. The decision to exhume his body comes as part of ongoing investigations into the case, with forensic experts hoping to uncover any evidence of foul play.
The shocking revelation has left many questioning the true extent of the woman’s crimes and wondering just how far her sinister motives may have reached. As the investigation continues, the truth behind the deaths of her family members and now her husband remains shrouded in mystery, leaving many to wonder: did she kill him too?
