  • The West is seeing Kim Jong Un’s army in action. The North Korean soldiers are brutal zealots undeterred in the face of death.

    • North Korean troops deployed to Russia have proven capable and fierce.

    • Russia is using them in high-cost “human wave” assaults.

    • The conflict is an opportunity for North Korea to learn modern warfare tactics and adapt.

North Korea’s soldiers are relentless, almost fanatical, in the face of death. They’re determined and capable in battle, even in an unfamiliar fight, and their tactics are outdated but brutal.

That is what the West has been learning watching Kim Jong Un’s army in action after Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the North Korean leader to supply fighters for his war on Ukraine.

Pyongyang deployed 11,000 men to Kursk in November disguised as Russian soldiers and carrying fake IDs. These troops are largely special operations forces, meaning they are more ardent in their beliefs and better trained than other units.

Russia has been pushing the North Koreans headlong into bloody assaults. The costs are high, but Kim’s army is learning an important lesson in return: how to fight a modern war.

This war is North Korea’s largest military deployment to a foreign conflict in its almost 80-year history. To determine what the West is learning from this moment, Business Insider spoke to experts who have been closely following North Korea’s performance, examined publicly released intelligence, and reviewed Ukrainians’ observations.

Ukrainian and South Korean intelligence services have said that many of the troops that deployed to Russia are some of Pyongyang’s best, drawn from the 11th Corps, also known as the Storm Corps. The unit is trained in infiltration, infrastructure sabotage, and assassinations.

Ukraine’s top general, Oleksandr Syrsky, has said the North Korean troops are “highly motivated, well-trained,” and “brave.” And the Pentagon said this month that “these are relatively well-disciplined, competent forces” that are by all accounts “capable.”

Some Ukrainian soldiers have relayed their experiences to Western media, describing the troops as fast and nimble, good shots, and seemingly fearless as they rush into battle despite heavy losses. North Korean soldiers have also been found carrying diaries with written dedications to Kim and their country.

“They, as individuals, are more skilled as soldiers, more disciplined as soldiers, more willing to fight as soldiers than some sources had presumed when they were first being sent there,” said Joseph Bermudez, an expert on North Korea’s armed forces at the Center for International and Strategic Studies.

North Korea has a culture driven by a martial philosophy that celebrates hard military power, and it maintains one of the world’s largest standing armies with around 1.2 million soldiers.

The country’s direct entry into the war has complicated the situation for the Ukrainians, particularly in Russia’s Kursk where Ukraine is struggling to hold captured ground. Ukraine has lost roughly half of the territory it once held inside Russia, and the relentless human wave attacks and brutal assaults have worn down Ukraine’s already strained defenses, depriving Kyiv’s forces of time to rest and brace for further attacks.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said last month that North Korea may be planning to deploy additional forces and military equipment to Russia.

Pyongyang has denied sending troops to Russia, and Kyiv has said Russian and North Korean forces attempt to remove dead North Korean soldiers from the battlefield or even burn the faces of dead North Koreans to make them difficult to identify.

Russia has been sending the North Korean forces into very high-casualty front-line assaults. Biden’s White House said late last month that “it is clear that Russian and North Korean military leaders are treating these troops as expendable and ordering them on hopeless assaults against Ukrainian defenses.”

A White House spokesperson previously described the North Koreans as “highly indoctrinated, pushing attacks even when it is clear that those attacks are futile.”

The Trump administration did not respond to a request for comment on its assessment of North Korean forces fighting in Russia.

Ukraine’s Special Operation Forces said Friday the North Koreans fighting for Russia had not been seen in the Kursk area for around three weeks and had likely been withdrawn due to the heavy combat losses. BI was unable to independently confirm these details.

On the front lines, Ukrainian soldiers have said that the North Koreans are a capable fighting force that is adept at neutralizing drones. The soldiers are ruthlessly tough and determined, relentlessly pushing forward in “human wave” assaults, using fellow soldiers as bait, and casting aside armor for faster infantry movements. And they refuse to surrender, often opting to kill themselves with a grenade or bullet rather than be captured.

This is a defining element of the North Korean special operations training: soldiers are trained to follow orders aggressively, even if they suspect it will cost them their lives. If they disobey orders or fail without sacrifice, their families could suffer the consequences, Bermudez said.

North Korea is learning lessons in modern warfare

North Korean forces have suffered heavy losses fighting for Russia, per Western intelligence. Despite training with Moscow on infantry tactics, flying drones, artillery, and trench-clearing operations, the troops are still new to this war.

The soldiers “have been observed engaging in light infantry operations of a Second World War vintage — one man draws out enemy fire (in this case, drones) to locate a target, and others attempt to neutralize said target,” said Michael Madden, a Stimson Center Korea expert. They have not prepared for a mechanized battlefield like Ukraine’s, filled with armored vehicles and tanks.

“They’ve been trained to fight a war on the Korean Peninsula,” Bermudez said, and while North Korea has watched various armed conflicts closely over the decades, its forces are now getting a real taste for it on a battlefield and in an environment they haven’t been prepping for.

In the short term, that could have devastating consequences for the North Korean forces fighting for the Russians. The Institute for the Study of War think tank assesses that the entire 11,000-man contingent of North Korean forces could be killed or wounded in action by April if the current casualty rate continues. The latest estimates put losses around 4,000.

Time will tell how North Korea implements what it’s learned from the Ukraine war.Alexander NEMENOV / AFP

North Korea may consider these sacrifices worth it — if not for the Russian cause, then for what it learns in return.

“It is a dark version of the concept of ‘you learn by doing,’” Madden said, noting that it’s still early. “We will need further incidents and engagements to make more sound observations as to whether they are adjusting their tactics given the state of play in Russia and Ukraine.”

But there is no doubt they’re learning, acquiring knowledge critical for future conflicts that will make North Korea a more challenging combat force in East Asia. They’re seeing the Ukrainian use of US- and Western-provided weapons systems, such as HIMARS and Abrams, for example, and how the Russians have adapted to them.

“They’re bringing these lessons home in the hardest way possible: by bleeding for them,” Bermudez said.

Recently, the Western world has been given a chilling glimpse into the ruthless and unwavering determination of North Korean soldiers under the command of Kim Jong Un. As tensions escalate on the Korean peninsula, the world is witnessing the brutal zealotry of these soldiers who are seemingly undeterred in the face of death.

Videos and images have surfaced showing North Korean soldiers engaging in military drills and exercises, displaying a level of discipline and fanaticism that is both awe-inspiring and terrifying. These soldiers, indoctrinated from a young age in the ways of the regime, exhibit a fervent loyalty to their leader and a willingness to sacrifice themselves in the name of their cause.

The sight of these soldiers, marching in perfect formation and executing military maneuvers with precision, serves as a stark reminder of the threats posed by the regime in Pyongyang. While the West may have long underestimated the capabilities of North Korea’s military, these recent displays of strength have forced a reevaluation of the situation.

As tensions continue to simmer in the region, the world must remain vigilant in the face of this formidable force. The North Korean soldiers, with their unwavering loyalty and brutal zealotry, are a force to be reckoned with – and one that cannot be underestimated.

  • Tom Kim tops tee shot, makes chip-in birdie to start third round at Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Tom Kim had quite the adventure down Pebble Beach’s par-4 opener on Saturday to start his third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the second signature event of the PGA Tour’s season.

Sitting four shots back of leader Sepp Straka, Kim teed off alongside Tony Finau and Andrew Novak. But his first tee shot of the day didn’t go as planned. The 22-year-old topped it, with the ball barely getting above the ground. Luckily for Kim, it rolled out and finished 169 yards away from the pin in the fairway.

His second wasn’t much better, missing the green to the left and leaving himself a tricky up-and-down for par. But he did one better, making the chip shot for birdie. It looked like a three the whole way.

This article originally appeared on Golfweek: Tom Kim tops opening tee shot, chips in for birdie at Pebble Beach

Tom Kim made quite the statement to start his third round at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. With all eyes on him, Kim stepped up to the tee and unleashed a perfect drive that sailed straight down the fairway, leaving him in prime position for his approach shot.

But Kim wasn’t satisfied with just a good drive. He continued to impress as he confidently strode up to his ball and expertly chipped it in for a birdie on the first hole. The crowd erupted in cheers as Kim took an early lead in the round, setting the tone for what would turn out to be an incredible day of golf.

Kim’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing his skill and determination on one of the most iconic courses in the world. As he continues his quest for victory at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, fans can only wait in anticipation to see what other incredible shots he has in store.

  • 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: Sepp Straka tops leaderboard with Tony Finau, Tom Kim pushing

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Sepp Straka got most of his work done before the weather started to turn Friday in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, posting another 7-under 65 for a three-shot lead that left Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and everyone having to chase him.

Straka, coming off a win two weeks ago in the California desert, showed a game that works just fine at sea level in less-than-ideal conditions, particularly the final hour.

Out came the mittens and beanies. Down came the temperature, accompanied by a little rain.

McIlroy went from challenging for the lead to making four bogeys in a six-hole stretch, before he finished his wild back nine at Pebble Beach with a 25-foot eagle putt to salvage a 70 that left him six shots behind.

Scheffler took a walk down the beach on the 18th hole, turning a potential bogey into a par when he hopped down a pair of rock ledges to the sandy soil, managed to get his ball back into play and hit 6-iron to the green. He shot 70 and was seven behind.

Andrew Novak got his first victory on the PGA Tour, which comes with a plaque on the wall off the first tee, not a trip to the Masters. Novak teamed with billionaire investor Philippe Laffont to win the pro-am.

The weekend at Pebble Beach is only for the 79 pros — Ludvig Aberg had to withdraw with an illness that affected him last week at Torrey Pines — and for the hardiest of players.

Gusts approaching 30 mph are in the forecast, along with spots of rain. Pebble Beach, that felicitous meeting of land and sea, is a beast in nasty weather.

“Went from zero to about 20 miles an hour pretty quickly,” Straka said of his final four holes at Pebble Beach, which including missing a 3-foot par putt on the 16th for his only bogey of the round, and a 4-iron into 30 feet for a two-putt birdie at the last.

He was at 14-under 130, three shots ahead of Russell Henley, who had a 69 at Pebble Beach, and Cam Davis of Australia, who had a 68 at Spyglass Hill.

“It’s going to change Pebble a lot,” said Tony Finau, who had a 67 at Spyglass Hill and was in a large group at 10-under 134.

“It’s unfortunate because Pebble is pure right now, really pure. The ball is bouncing and anytime that’s the case at Pebble, I think it’s pretty magical to play. We’ll have to adjust, just adapt as we do out here and we’ll just have to do that on the weekend.”

McIlroy was magnificent with the driver and didn’t get much out of it. Still, he opened with four birdies in seven holes — the scoring stretch at Pebble — until he missed the green on the par-3 12th, hit it heavy out of fairway bunker on the 13th and was out of position off the tee at the 15th and 16th holes, all leading to bogey.

His round ended with an eagle, and he was still in the mix.

Scheffler, in a 2025 debut delayed by minor surgery on his right hand for a freak puncture wound while making ravioli, ran off three straight birdies, including a shot to 2 feet on the tough eighth hole. That was the last of his birdies, but it was the par that saved him.

He pulled his tee shot left on the par-5 18th toward the largest water hazard in golf. Scheffler didn’t see the ball carom off the rocks or splash in the Pacific Ocean. His only option was to go forward to the end of the tee box, so he opted to walk 300 yards and take a look.

He spotted a golf ball on the beach — it was his — and was able to move enough small rocks and seaweed to advance that to the fairway and make par.

“The unpredictability was the most difficult part,” Scheffler said. “After the tee ball, I definitely would have taken a par, no complaints.”

Not many from Straka, either, who would appear to be riding some momentum from his victory in The American Express. He attributes much of that to a slight change in his putting, going to a skinnier grip and moving his hands slightly higher.

“Palm Springs was the first time in a long time I felt that I had four really good putting rounds in a row,” Straka said. “Yeah, I think that’s definitely made a huge difference.”

But he pulled back when he was asked if was on a big run.

“A six-round run,” he said. “I mean, no, I would not classify that as a run. I think Scottie Scheffler is on a run.”

The 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has been nothing short of exciting as Austrian golfer Sepp Straka has taken the lead on the leaderboard, closely followed by Tony Finau and Tom Kim.

Straka has been in top form, showcasing his skill and precision on the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links. With a combination of powerful drives and accurate putting, he has managed to stay ahead of the competition.

However, Finau and Kim are not far behind, putting on a strong performance and keeping the pressure on Straka. With their consistent play and impressive shot-making, they are poised to make a run for the top spot.

As the tournament continues, all eyes will be on these three talented golfers as they battle it out for the coveted title. Stay tuned for more updates on the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

  • Kylie Jenner shows off her curves in archival leopard mini first seen on Kim Kardashian

    Sheer perfection.

While in France for Paris Haute Couture Week festivities, Kylie Jenner, 27, was spotted heading to lunch yesterday afternoon at Bar des Prés in a vintage see-through leopard mini dress.

Jenner, who works with styling duo Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist, sourced the racy number from Azzedine Alaïa’s fall 1991 collection — making the piece older than she is.

Boasting black velvet cups and a coordinating skirt, the archival piece hugged the “Kardashians” star’s curves and showed off her bare legs.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder teamed the itty-bitty dress with black patent leather mules ($1,200) from the luxury label.

The youngest Kardashian-Jenner sibling isn’t the first to wear the special look; older sister Kim Kardashian actually wore a catsuit version of the leopard ‘fit in 2019 while attending Paris Fashion Week herself.

Also hailing from the designer’s fall 1991 collection, Kim’s iteration had the same animal print fabric and black velvet cups, along with matching velvet bikini briefs and sheer legs.

Legendary supermodel Naomi Campbell was the one who debuted the catsuit on the runway in the early ’90s.

Although Campbell wore the look solo, Kardashian accented hers with a black beret.

The whole Kardashian-Jenner clan seems to be smitten with the late designer’s past collections, as Kendall, too, frequently turns to archival Alaïa looks.

In September 2024, again during Paris Fashion Week, the model, who was newly blond at the time, stepped out in a black-and-white checkered pattern from Alaïa’s fall 1988 collection.

Giving corporate chic vibes, Jenner wore the vintage jacket alongside a black Hermès briefcase.

With Kendall strutting her stuff on the Schiaparelli runway earlier this week and Kylie attending the Chanel show in a crop top and pleated skirt yesterday, we can’t wait to see what these high-fashion siblings wear next.

Kylie Jenner recently turned heads as she stepped out in a stunning archival leopard mini dress that was first seen on her sister, Kim Kardashian. The 23-year-old makeup mogul showcased her famous curves in the figure-hugging dress, which featured a daringly low-cut neckline and thigh-skimming hemline.

The dress, which originally made its debut on Kim back in 2010, proved to be a timeless piece as Kylie effortlessly rocked the look with her own unique style. Paired with strappy heels and sleek, straight hair, Kylie exuded confidence and glamour as she flaunted her enviable figure.

Fans were quick to praise Kylie for her fashion choice, with many commenting on her killer sense of style and undeniable beauty. It’s clear that the Kardashian-Jenner sisters know how to make a statement with their fashion choices, and this iconic leopard mini dress is no exception.

With both Kylie and Kim proving that this dress is a timeless piece that never goes out of style, it’s safe to say that animal print will always be a fashion staple. Whether you’re a fan of leopard print or just looking for some fashion inspiration, Kylie Jenner’s latest look is definitely one to remember.

  • Why women make better punks, according to Kim Gordon

Johnny Rotten. Joey Ramone. Joe Strummer. Iggy Pop. Some of the most iconic punks of our time are men, and while their raw aggression undeniably comes from a place of real frustration, their experiences of oppression will never quite compare to those of their female counterparts. As Kim Gordon said: “Women make natural anarchists and revolutionaries because they’ve always been second-class citizens, kinda having had to claw their way up.”

In the music world, the parameters of what defines an artist as “punk” have always been greatly different between men and women. While Gordon and countless other “anarchistic” female musicians have always appeared attached to another shadowy label that either makes or breaks their entire reputation, their male counterparts are often celebrated as outspoken with equal footing in mainstream spaces.

The problem here relates to the fact that being confident about speaking out on important issues or reflecting on personal experiences in music immediately politicises female artists or brands them controversial, for better or worse, even if they feel it is mere human decency to do so. Gordon, for instance, never really set out to embody everything the label comes with; rather, she just wanted to fight for greater justice where there was none.

As a result, Sonic Youth adopted layers of social and political commentary, mainly owed to Gordon’s insatiable desire to reject the parts of the world that those around her had long normalised. She grew to resent the system and everything it stood for and allowed this to be reflected in her music, no matter how it would come across to others. Much of this came through in Dirty, with songs like ‘Swimsuit Issue’ tackling Gordon’s secondhand experience of workplace sexual harassment at a label they had just signed onto.

However, Gordon wasn’t just attached to the punk label because she overtly criticised the world around her. She earned it on the basis of constantly pushing back, even in subtle ways, like how she looked, spoke, and sang. Borrowing some of the definitive tropes from other underground pioneers like Destroy All Monsters’ Niagara, Gordon became the definitive boundary-pusher by going against the grain, utilising her in-built aggression from being oppressed from the get-go to try to make sense of the chaos that threatened to box her in.

This made her, and countless other women in the space, equipped with a certain level of resilience and rebelliousness from the off, armed with all of the poised defensiveness of a woman who has always been faced with the relentless fight for respect and equality. Others like Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, and Kathleen Hanna became rich, well-rounded reflections of the society they were forced into, the fiery injustices of an inherently misogynistic world etched into their soul like a prophetic sorting hat from birth.

Hanna, in particular, all but made it her life’s work to continue the fight after a chance encounter crossed her path with Gloria Steinem at age nine. Even before her brain had fully developed, she knew the beast existed inside her and followed its unrelenting, glaring gaze until she held the torch. As she later reflected: “It was the first time I had ever been in a big crowd of women yelling, and it really made me want to do it forever.” In other words, this was her calling because she had entered this earth with the one thing that gets you unjustly treated: a woman.

According to Gordon, what also makes women better punks than men is that this is well-known to everybody who shines brighter, except those who lack the knowledge and experience. Women are “second-class citizens,” as she argues, which places their knowledge and understanding of societal oppression and subsequent artistic expression bone-deep, their immediate exposure to such injustice breeding a level of defiance few will ever know.

Kim Gordon, the iconic musician and founding member of the band Sonic Youth, recently shared her thoughts on why women make better punks in an interview with Rolling Stone. Gordon, known for her fearless attitude and boundary-pushing creativity, believes that women bring a unique perspective and energy to the punk scene that sets them apart from their male counterparts.

According to Gordon, women have a natural ability to challenge societal norms and push back against traditional gender roles, making them perfect candidates for punk rock rebellion. She explains that women are often underestimated and marginalized in the music industry, which fuels their drive to break the rules and carve out their own space in the punk scene.

Gordon also points out that women have a strong sense of empathy and connection to others, which can be a powerful force in punk music. She believes that female musicians are able to tap into their emotions and experiences in a way that resonates deeply with audiences, creating a sense of unity and empowerment within the punk community.

Overall, Gordon’s perspective on why women make better punks highlights the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the music industry. By embracing the unique voices and perspectives of female musicians, the punk scene can continue to evolve and thrive in new and exciting ways.

Spring training is just weeks away, but there is still plenty of MLB offseason business to tackle. A handful of notable players remain on the free-agent market, including Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso. Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki agreed to a new deal on Jan. 17, landing with the Dodgers to team up with WBC teammates Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The Dodgers signed reliever Tanner Scott on the same weekend. The Blue Jays finally made an awaited splash as they signed Anthony Santander to a five-year contract.

Juan Soto, the best free agent on the market, signed a record-setting $765 million deal with the Mets back in December. Pitchers Corbin Burnes (Diamondbacks), Blake Snell (Dodgers) and Max Fried (Yankees) — who were all ranked in the top five of our top free agents lists — also all signed before the new year.

Some moves have happened in January, including Justin Verlander heading to the Giants and Ha-Seong Kim to the Rays, but the market has been relatively slow as Alonso and Bregman remain without new contracts.

  • Padres Lose Ha-Seong Kim to AL Contender as Brutal Offseason Continues

The San Diego Padres have lost another key free agent, as infielder Ha-Seong Kim has signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Rays, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Kim is signing a $29 million deal with an opt-out after the first season, per Passan.

Kim is yet another free agent to leave the Padres in a brutal offseason for San Diego. Jurickson Profar signed with the Atlanta Braves despite interest in returning to San Diego. He mentioned the ongoing ownership lawsuit as a reason he’s not back.

“Obviously the Padres have some issue with the ownership and all that,” Profar said in a video call with the Atlanta media. “It was difficult to go back (to San Diego), but [Braves general manager] Alex [Anthopoulous] showed a lot, a lot of interest in me and I loved that. He gave me a lot of confidence to come to a team and to perform. People show confidence like that, it gives you a boost.”

All-Star reliever Tanner Scott left the Padres for the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers, and hasn’t stop talking about how happy he is to be in L.A.

Now, Kim is officially gone from San Diego, even though just two years ago he appeared to be a future cornerstone of the roster.

    This story will be updated…

The San Diego Padres have suffered another blow in what has been a brutal offseason, as they have lost infielder Ha-Seong Kim to an American League contender.

Kim, who signed with the Padres last offseason, was a key part of their infield depth and provided versatility with his ability to play multiple positions. However, it has been reported that he has been traded to an AL contender in exchange for prospects, leaving the Padres with a hole to fill in their infield.

This news comes on the heels of the Padres missing out on several free agent targets and dealing with injuries to key players. Fans are understandably frustrated with the team’s inability to make significant moves to improve their roster, especially as they try to compete in a tough NL West division.

As the Padres continue to struggle this offseason, it remains to be seen if they can turn things around before the start of the season. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Rays To Sign Ha-Seong Kim

The Rays and infielder Ha-Seong Kim have agreed to a two-year, $29MM contract, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN. The deal includes an opt-out after the first season for the Boras Corporation client. Kim will make $13MM this year and could unlock another $2MM via incentives, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. If he doesn’t opt out, he’ll make $16MM in 2026.

Kim’s free agency has been one of the more difficult ones to project on account of his uncertain health status. In August of last year, while with the Padres, he injured his right shoulder while diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt. He underwent surgery late in September to repair the labrum in that shoulder. His agent, Scott Boras, has since suggested that Kim could be back on the field by April. Padres president of baseball operations gave a more nebulous and less optimistic answer of “May, June, July.”

    More to come.

The Tampa Bay Rays are set to make a major move by signing infielder Ha-Seong Kim. Kim, a talented player from South Korea, is expected to bring a boost to the Rays’ lineup with his versatility and impressive skills on both offense and defense.

The 25-year-old infielder has been a standout player in the Korea Baseball Organization, where he has shown off his power at the plate and slick fielding at multiple infield positions. Kim’s signing is seen as a significant addition for the Rays, who are looking to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.

Fans are excited to see Kim in a Rays uniform and are hopeful that he can help lead the team to success in the highly competitive American League East. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting signing and how Kim will make an impact for the Rays in the 2021 season.

  • Doc Features Claim Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Was ‘Awful’ and ‘Mean’ to Kim Porter

Sean “Diddy” Combs is accused of mistreating Kim Porter, his former partner and the mother of three of his children, in a new docuseries that also details the sexual misconduct allegations the mogul is facing.

The claim is made by Danyel Smith, the former editor-in-chief of Vibe, who is one of many people interviewed in the upcoming docuseries The Fall of Diddy, airing Monday, Jan. 27, and Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on Investigation Discovery and streaming on Max.

“I’ve seen [Combs] act around Kim in many ways that were just awful and very mean,” Smith alleges in an exclusive clip from the docuseries.

Smith recalls one incident in which she claims she was at a nightclub with Porter and other women when Combs showed up.

“He just started hollering at her that she should be at home, not out,” Smith says. “Then he grabbed her handbag and literally turned it upside down. He just emptied it out in front of everybody.”

Kim Porter and Diddy had three children together: Christian Combs and twins Jessie James Combs and D’Lila Combs. Quincy Brown was Porter’s son with R&B singer Al B. Sure! Quincy was adopted by Diddy around 3 years old.

In a statement to PEOPLE regarding Smith’s allegation, Combs’ attorneys wrote: “These documentaries are rushing to cash in on the media circus surrounding Mr. Combs. The producers failed to provide sufficient time or details for his representatives to address unsubstantiated claims, many from unidentified participants whose allegations lack context. By withholding this information, they made it impossible for Mr. Combs to present facts to counter these fabricated accusations. This production is clearly intended to present a one-sided and prejudicial narrative. As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every publicity stunt or facially ridiculous claim. He has full confidence in the facts and the judicial process, where the truth will prevail: the accusations against him are pure fiction.”

Combs is currently in jail as he awaits trial on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, following a September indictment. He has pleaded not guilty.

The Fall of Diddy also features interviews with D. Woods, a member of Danity Kane, the girl group formed on Combs’ former reality show Making the Band, and several former of Combs’ employees and accusers.

The Fall of Diddy airs Monday, Jan. 27, and Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on Investigation Discovery and streams on Max.

In a recent article published by Doc Features, shocking claims have been made about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his treatment towards the late Kim Porter. According to sources close to Porter, Diddy was allegedly “awful” and “mean” to her during their relationship.

The article details instances where Diddy would reportedly belittle and disrespect Porter, causing emotional distress and strain on their relationship. Friends of Porter have come forward to share their experiences of witnessing Diddy’s behavior towards her, painting a troubling picture of their dynamic.

These claims have sparked outrage and concern among fans, who have always viewed Diddy and Porter as a power couple in the entertainment industry. The revelations have shed light on a darker side of their relationship, raising questions about the true nature of their connection.

As more details emerge, it is important to remember that these are allegations and have not been confirmed by Diddy or his representatives. However, the impact of these claims on Porter’s legacy and Diddy’s reputation cannot be ignored. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
