Blazers Massive Trade Proposal Lands 3-Time All-Star For Jerami Grant
The Portland Trail Blazers are among the bottom feeders in the league and the Western Conference.
The Blazers will likely stay at the bottom for the remainder of the season, but hope is on the horizon. The Blazers are a team loaded with young talent; however, they also have a top of veteran pieces.
That’s not the recipe for teams that want to rebuild like the Blazers want to. Still, they can make massive changes as we approach the highly anticipated trade deadline.
That is the expectation for the Blazers, and they are likely to do so. One of the players who they would love to move is their veteran forward, Jerami Grant.
Grant is high on many teams’ lists of players they’d love to acquire, and this latest trade proposal by Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World sees the Blazers make a blockbuster trade with their Western Conference rivals, the Phoenix Suns.
This trade scenario sees the Blazers trade Grant for three-time All-Star Bradley Beal.

“The Portland Trail Blazers acquiring Bradley Beal signals an aggressive push to stay competitive alongside young star Scoot Henderson. Beal’s scoring prowess provides an immediate boost, giving the Blazers a proven offensive option in key moments.
“Pairing Beal with Henderson and Deandre Ayton could create an intriguing core. However, Beal’s massive contract limits future flexibility, making this deal a significant financial commitment. Adding the 2031 first-round pick from Phoenix could cushion the risk if Beal’s production declines over time.”
Beal is in the middle of his five-year deal and is owed $50 million for the remainder of the season. That will only skyrocket for the remaining two years he has left after this one.
The salary increases from $50 million to $53 million next season and $57 million in the final year, for which he has a player option.
Considering how injury-prone Beal is, he will likely opt into that deal, no matter the team he plays for. Beal is a tremendous talent; however, he does not fit with the Blazers’ timeline.
The only win for the Blazers in this scenario is getting rid of Grant’s contract; however, they just got dumped another egregious contract.
The Suns’ tact on Grant’s contract, but it isn’t as bad as Beal’s. Still, it could be an upgrade roster-wise as they get two players in Grant and Avdija, who could be a tremendous help on the court.

Orioles blockbuster trade idea lands $14M ace for Ryan Mountcastle, Dean Kremer
The Baltimore Orioles already needed a ton of starting pitching help, and then they lost their ace. Where do they go from here?
Trading for Corbin Burnes last winter saved the Orioles rotation from a total collapse in 2024, but it may not have netted them anything in the long run. Burnes is now gone to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Baltimore rotation is in a state of semi-ruin.
The only saving grace the Orioles have, if they’re willing to take advantage of it, is their immense swath of young talent. They could make another trade, mirroring the Burnes deal, and nab a replacement to headline their 2025 rotation.
Of all the names on the trade market, Dylan Cease seems most poised to take over a number-one starting role. He finished fourth in National League Cy Young voting in 2024, and his San Diego Padres may be in enough of a bind financially to move him before he hits free agency.
In a recent YouTube video, content creator Jim Riley proposed a trade that would send Cease to Baltimore in exchange for first baseman Ryan Mountcastle and starting pitcher Dean Kremer.
“The Baltimore Orioles missed out on Corbin Burnes, the fan base is upset, let’s run it back,” Riley said. “In the end, you get an Orioles rotation that is headlined by Dylan Cease.”
Cease, 28, had a 3.47 ERA in 189 1/3 innings this past season, ranking third in all of baseball with 224 strikeouts. He threw his first career no-hitter as well, and his 3.10 FIP suggests that he likely deserved even better stats than he wound up with.
Riley’s return makes some sense for the Padres if San Diego is prioritizing big-league talent. Kremer has three years of control and could slot into the Padres’ rotation, but Mountcastle is a more complicated fit, as a first baseman/designated hitter only.
Frankly, it will probably take more on Baltimore’s part if they want Cease in their rotation. But they’ve got the young talent to spare, so it quickly becomes a test of how committed general manager Mike Elias is to winning now.

Controversial post lands ‘Squid Game’ star Park Sung-hoon in hot water amid national mourning for Jeju Air tragedy
SEOUL, Jan 1 — Park Sung-hoon’s star was on the rise after his chilling portrayal of a villain in Queen of Tears and his much-anticipated role in Squid Game Season 2.
Fans were particularly impressed by his complex character in the survival drama, where he played a transgender woman — a role that initially sparked some apprehension but ultimately earned their admiration.
However, the actor’s reputation has taken a hit following a recent scandal involving an inappropriate Instagram post.
On Monday, Park inadvertently shared a parody of Squid Game featuring AV actresses on the cover of an adult film.
The actresses, depicted in an explicit parody of the show, were naked in the image.
Though Park quickly deleted the post, the damage was already done, with screenshots spreading across online communities and sparking outrage among fans.

They stated, “Park Sung Hoon received many DMs on social media and accidentally uploaded it while checking DMs. The actor himself is also surprised and apologises for making such a mistake in these times. He will be careful not to let something like this happen again.”
Despite this apology, many fans remain unconvinced.
“Is it part of Squid Game’s contract for the male actors to all be evil or something?” one user questioned.
Another wrote, “At this point, you have to be disgusting to be cast in Squid Game — like it’s some criteria.”
In response to his behaviour, some fans suggested a full cast change for the upcoming drama The Tyrant’s Chef, where Park is slated to appear opposite Yoona.

BYU Football Reportedly Lands Utah Transfer Keanu Tanuvasa
PROVO, Utah – Keanu Tanuvasa is crossing rivalry lines.
The former Utah defensive tackle, who shocked many by entering the Transfer Portal last week, has reportedly committed to BYU.
Matt Zenitz from 247Sports was the first to report the news. Other outlets have reported as well.

Tanuvasa started 19 games over the past two seasons for the Utes.
The 6-foot-4, 301-pound Tanuvasa has two years of eligibility in his college career.
KSL Sports Utah Insider Steve Bartle wrote on Tanuvasa’s entry into the portal last week, “The third-year player had 24 games played and finished with 50 tackles, 12 for loss, and 4 sacks.
“Tanuvasa was an important piece to the [Utah] defensive line the past two seasons and was being counted on to lead the team into 2025.”
BYU got a first-hand glimpse of the impact Tanuvasa can make along the interior of the defensive line. In the rivalry game on November 9, Tanuvasa had a season-high four tackles.
After BYU won the game 22-21, Tanuvasa had an exclusive interview with KSL Sports and shared his thoughts on the rivalry.

“I wouldn’t say anger or hatred; it’s a rivalry game, but it’s not like they’re the worst people on earth,” Tanuvasa said to KSL Sports on the BYU-Utah rivalry in November. “It’s not like they’ve actually done things to deserve my hate. They deserved everything to deserve my best competition.”
BYU had a pressing need for a defensive tackle during this transfer portal cycle. The reported move of Tanuvasa to BYU will give the Cougars an immediate starter for the defensive front in 2025.
BYU begins winter conditioning for the 2025 season next week.
Tanuvasa is the second player from Utah to transfer to BYU during the 2025 portal cycle. He joins tight end Carsen Ryan.
Tanuvasa was initially recruited by BYU during the class of 2019 coming out of high school. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tanuvasa served a two-year mission before enrolling at Utah.
Tanuvasa was a three-star prospect coming out of high school.
BYU football concluded the 2024 season with an Alamo Bowl victory over No. 23 Colorado. They finished the season with an 11-2 record.

Ex-Yankees infielder lands with a new team
Gleyber Torres is headed to the Detroit Tigers, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The terms of the deal between the former Yankees infielder and Detroit are not yet know.

Torres started the 2024 season in the leadoff spot for the Yankees before ultimately getting bumped down in the lineup in favor of Anthony Volpe. He hit .257 with a .709 OPS, 15 home runs and 63 RBI in 154 games. His numbers were mainly marred numbers by an early season slump, and from mid-August — when he earned back his leadoff spot — until the end of the end of the season, he hit .313/.386/.454.
Heyman previously reported that Torres turned down an offer from the Washington Nationals because they wanted him to play third base.
Torres made his major league debut in 2018 and has spent all seven years of his career in New York.

Seahawks’ Kenneth Walker III lands on IR due to ankle sprain

CHICAGO — The Seattle Seahawks will be without Kenneth Walker III for their playoff push after placing their leading rusher on injured reserve Thursday.
Walker already had been ruled out for the Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears because of an ankle injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of Seattle’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He was listed as a nonparticipant in practice all three days this week.
Speaking ahead of the Bears game Thursday, Seahawks general manager John Schneider told Seattle Sports 710-AM that Walker is dealing with a high-ankle sprain.
To take Walker’s place on the 53-man roster, the Seahawks signed rookie George Holani off their practice squad. Holani will serve as their third running back behind Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh. Seattle also elevated cornerback Artie Burns for the Bears game.
Walker’s third NFL season has been marred by injuries. The 2022 second-round pick missed two games in September after hurting his oblique in the opener and two more in December with a calf injury. Going on IR will sideline him for a minimum of four games, meaning his season is over unless the Seahawks make a deep playoff run.
In 11 games, Walker leads the Seahawks with 573 rushing yards and 153 carries, scoring seven rushing touchdowns. Charbonnet, who will again take over as the team’s No. 1 back with Walker out, has 453 rushing yards on 106 carries and a team-high eight rushing touchdowns in 15 games.
With Walker in and out of the lineup this season, the Seahawks rank 30th in rushing yards per game (91.9) and 23rd in yards per carry (4.1).
A loss to Chicago coupled with a Los Angeles Rams win over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday would eliminate Seattle (8-7) from playoff contention.
The Seattle Seahawks received a tough blow today as running back Kenneth Walker III has been placed on Injured Reserve due to an ankle sprain.Walker, who has been a key contributor to the Seahawks’ offense this season, suffered the injury during last Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. The team’s medical staff determined that he would need some time to recover and heal properly, leading to the decision to place him on IR.
This is certainly disappointing news for both Walker and the Seahawks, as he has been a dynamic playmaker on the field. However, the team is confident in their depth at the running back position and will look to other players to step up in his absence.
