    LANGLEY — A teenager is facing several charges, including assaulting a police officer, after some Friday night mayhem at an illegal racing event.

    On January 24, just after 11 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to a motor vehicle incident complaint near Gloucester Way. An officer who arrived on scene said there were roughly 200 young people in the area who participated in street racing and stunting.

    The crowd became unruly while the officer issued several traffic violation tickets and worked to get a vehicle towed.

    According to an RCMP release, when the officer radioed for back-up, a 16-year-old male “interfered with the officer’s investigation during the lawful execution of his duties” and “rushed at police” even after multiple instructions to stand down. A conducted energy weapon, or a taser, was deployed afterwards.



    In a recent incident in Langley, a youth was arrested for obstructing police during a street racing incident. The incident occurred on [date] when police were called to [location] after receiving reports of street racing in the area.

    When officers arrived at the scene, they found a group of young people engaged in illegal street racing. Despite multiple warnings to disperse, the youth refused to comply and instead obstructed police officers in their attempt to break up the gathering.

    As a result, one youth was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers and consequences of participating in illegal street racing activities.

    Police are urging young people to make responsible choices and obey the law to ensure the safety of themselves and others on the road. Street racing is not only illegal but also puts lives at risk and can result in serious consequences.

  • Langley RCMP break up ‘unruly’ crowd of 200 young people at illegal street racing event


    Police in Langley, B.C., say they had to use pepper spray and a Taser as they dealt with an “unruly” crowd of young people at an illegal street racing event in the city Friday night. 

    Langley RCMP say an officer responding to a call on Gloucester Way arrived to find a crowd of around 200 young people allegedly in the area to “participate in illegal street racing and stunting.”  

    Mounties say the officer wrote violation tickets and was having a vehicle towed when the crowd allegedly “became unruly.” Police allege a 16-year-old male tried to obstruct the officer, who had also called for backup. 

    Police say officers had to use a Taser on the teen, and that a group of young people then allegedly tried to interfere with his arrest, leading to officers using pepper spray to disperse the crowd. 

    They say people in the crowd managed to free the suspect from a police vehicle, but he was later found by a police dog, and is now up on charges for allegedly assaulting an officer.

    Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward said street racing remains a persistent issue in the community and called the incident “very unfortunate.”

    “No RCMP officer should be interfered with or obstructed in this manner,” he wrote in a statement to CBC News. “We support the RCMP in their ongoing efforts to address it.”

    The mayor added that the township initiated traffic calming measures in Gloucester Industrial Estates last September to address the problem, which he says endangers truckers and workers operating overnight.

    Supt. Harm Dosange, who heads the Langley RCMP detachment, says the altercation was “deeply troubling” and that there will be more police patrols and traffic enforcement in the area because street racers pose a “significant risk” to the public and police. 



    Langley RCMP had their hands full over the weekend as they were called to break up an ‘unruly’ crowd of 200 young people at an illegal street racing event.

    The event, which took place in a secluded area of Langley, quickly spiraled out of control as participants began engaging in dangerous stunts and driving recklessly. Concerned residents in the area notified authorities, prompting a swift response from the RCMP.

    Upon arrival, officers were met with resistance from the crowd, who refused to disperse and continued their reckless behavior. Police were forced to use pepper spray and physical force to break up the gathering and restore order.

    Several individuals were arrested for various offenses, including reckless driving and public intoxication. The RCMP has issued a warning to anyone considering participating in illegal street racing events, emphasizing the dangers posed to both participants and the public.

    Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity to the authorities and to avoid engaging in or attending illegal street racing events. The safety of the community is paramount, and the RCMP will continue to take swift action to ensure the well-being of all residents.

    Last summer, Ella Langley and Riley Green launched a thousand pickup lines with “You Look Like You Love Me,” a winsome, winking nod to love at first sight (or something like that.)

    When you pen a chart-topping song about falling in love with someone from across the room, it stands to reason that people will want to share their best come-ons with you. And while some are better than others, Langley says no one is beating Kevon Green.

    “He gets the best pickup lines I’ve ever heard in my life,” Langley said during a recent appearance on the God’s Country podcast. “He’s like, off the cuff. I mean, it’s incredible. It is a work of art, honestly.”

    Well, it looks like the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree in this case. Kevon and Riley Green seem to have an ultra-close relationship, as Riley frequently shouts out Kevon on social media. In fact, one of the first purchases he made after his music career took off was a brand-new truck for his dad.

    “Nothing I bought myself stands out like as being able to hand him the keys to a nice truck, you know?” Riley told AL.com last February. “He always had an old beat-up truck, so it was cool to be able to take care of him.”

    Ella Langley Has Released New Music

    Green has posted about his pops before, sharing a lot of shirtless pictures of him. Apparently, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree on that one, as Green is now an underwear model and often appears shirtless.

    People have already run through every rumor in the rumor mill about Langley possibly dating Green. The two have said multiple times that they are just friends who made some music together.

    However, it turns out that Riley is not the only Green out there making the ladies giggle.
