Robert Pattinson laughed off any continued hatred against the “Twilight” franchise in a translated interview for GQ Spain. The actor debuted as the vampire Edward Cullen in 2008’s “Twilight,” which launched a $3.3 billion movie franchise across five movies and turned Pattinson and co-star Kristen Stewart into global superstars.
“I love that people keep telling me, ‘Man, ‘Twilight’ ruined the vampire genre,’” Pattinson said in the interview. “Are you still stuck on that shit? How can you be sad about something that happened almost 20 years ago? It’s crazy.”
When Pattinson last spoke to GQ in 2022, he revealed that he wanted the original “Twilight” movie to be as edgy and emo as possible. He was 21 years old at the time and feeling young adult angst, but his vision for the movie didn’t sit right with the studio.
“I wanted to make it as arty as possible,” Pattinson said at the time. “We had this strange tension where the studio was scared to make things a little bit too emo and stuff. I thought that was the only way to play it. I spent so much time [on set] infuriated… I can’t believe the way I was acting half the time.”
Pattinson remembered his managers visiting the “Twilight” set one day and encouraging him to smile more and not play things so seriously. His managers told him point blank, “You’ll be fired by the end of the day if you don’t stop doing what you’re doing.”
“Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke revealed on “Happy Sad Confused” in 2023 that the film studio also questioned if Pattinson had good enough looks to play Edward Cullen.
“When he came over to my house, he had black bangs for hair and was kind of out of shape because he was hanging out at the pub all the time,” Hardwicke recalled of auditioning Pattinson. “After we did the fun auditions [with Kristen] at my house for a couple hours, then I looked the next morning at all the footage I shot and recorded and I thought it worked not just in person but it works on screen. I had to be sure. Of course in person I just got carried away, but you have to be sure it translates [to the screen].”
“Then I sent it to Summit and he went over to meet them,” she continued. “They called me back and go, ‘Do you think you can make this guy look good?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I do. Did you see his cheekbones? We’re doing a makeover on the hair and everything and he’s going to start working out and he’s going to be gorgeous.’ But they didn’t believe it at first. He like walked over there with a stained shirt or something. It was Rob.”
Pattinson was not what the studio was envisioning for Edward, nor was he what fans were expecting. When the “Twilight” movie was announced, fan casting leaned heavily in favor of a pre-Superman Henry Cavill. After all, franchise author Stephenie Meyer said publicly that Cavill was at the top of her wish list. Hardwicke, however, thought the actor looked too old to play a high school student. She was able to convince the studio to go with Pattinson, and the rest is history.
Robert Pattinson, the actor who portrayed Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, recently laughed off claims that the popular series ruined the vampire genre. In a recent interview, Pattinson expressed amusement at the criticism, stating, “I find it funny when people say Twilight ruined vampires. I mean, who doesn’t love a good vampire story?”Pattinson went on to defend the Twilight series, pointing out that it brought a fresh perspective to the vampire genre and introduced a new generation to the iconic creatures of the night. He also noted that the success of Twilight paved the way for other vampire-themed projects to thrive in popular culture.
Despite the backlash the Twilight series received from some vampire purists, Pattinson remains proud of his role in the franchise and continues to embrace his connection to the vampire world. So, for those who still hold a grudge against Twilight, it seems Robert Pattinson is simply laughing it off.

Interim UFC heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall basked in Dana White’s pivot on the UFC’s pound-for-pound debate.
Tom Aspinall is in active negotiations to face UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones in a title unification bout later this year. While nothing is official as of this writing, both sides are optimistic a deal will be finalized in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, Aspinall remains behind Jones and others in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings. Jones, who is arguably the greatest UFC fighter of all time, has been UFC CEO Dana White‘s repeated pick for the deserving pound-for-pound No. 1 spot.
White previously attacked anyone with a differing opinion on the pound-for-pound rankings, specifically those who placed Islam Makhachev over Jones for the No. 1 slot. However, White made a big pivot after Makhachev’s dominant win over Renato Moicano to set the UFC lightweight title defense record at UFC 311.
White gave Makhachev the nod as the deserving pound-for-pound king following UFC 311, reversing months of his previous stance. Aspinall, a big supporter of Makhachev, found White’s post-UFC 311 reversal hilarious.

In a recent upload to his YouTube channel, Aspinall reacted to White’s stunning admission.
“Now we’re seeing Dana White coming out and saying that [Islam] is the pound-for-pound No. 1 in the world, Islam Makhachev!” Aspinall said. “As we all know, to me, pound-for-pound is a lot of made-up stuff. I don’t look into that, but it’s just funny that he’s kind of jumped ship now from Jon Jones to Islam.
“Islam did what he was supposed to do. Went out there, fought whoever was put in front of him, which is what a champion is supposed to do. Got the win and he’s levels above anybody else in that division. He’s going to hold the belt for a long, long time, and that is something that I’m very excited for because I’m a massive Islam Makhachev fan.”
Makhachev, upon finding out about White’s post-fight remarks, was thrilled to have the long-deserved support of the UFC headman. His five UFC lightweight title defenses are the most in promotional history, ahead of Khabib Nurmagomedov, BJ Penn, and Benson Henderson.
As of this writing, Aspinall sits at No. 8 in the latest UFC pound-for-pound rankings, although that could change following Tuesday’s update. A win over Jones would catapult him up the ladder.
Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall is in active negotiations
Aspinall most recently knocked out Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in his lone interim title defense. He avenged an earlier injury stoppage defeat suffered to Blaydes in 2022, earning recent wins over Marcin Tybura and Sergei Pavlovich.
Jones made his first UFC heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic in November, winning by TKO at UFC 309. He captured the then-vacant UFC heavyweight championship by submitting Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.
Aspinall and Jones are on a collision course for later in 2025, and their heavyweight fight will be for much more than the lineal belt. After White’s pivot, Aspinall has the chance to join Makhachev atop the pound-for-pound debate.

In a recent interview, UFC heavyweight contender Tom Aspinall couldn’t help but chuckle at Dana White’s decision to “jump ship” from Jon Jones in the ongoing pound-for-pound debate.Aspinall, who is currently on a four-fight win streak in the UFC, expressed his amusement at White’s sudden change of stance regarding Jones’ status as the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
“It’s funny how quickly Dana White is willing to change his tune when it comes to Jon Jones,” Aspinall said with a smirk. “One minute he’s the GOAT, the next minute he’s not even in the conversation. It just goes to show how fickle the MMA world can be.”
Aspinall went on to praise Jones for his accomplishments inside the Octagon, but also noted that there are plenty of other fighters who deserve to be recognized as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport.
“Jon Jones is undeniably one of the greatest fighters of all time, but there are so many other incredible athletes out there who deserve to be in the pound-for-pound discussion,” Aspinall explained. “It’s not just about one fighter anymore – it’s about recognizing the talent and skill of all the fighters who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in MMA.”
Aspinall’s comments are sure to spark further debate among MMA fans and pundits, but one thing is for certain – the pound-for-pound debate is far from over, and there are plenty of fighters who are worthy of consideration.

Don Lemon has once again slammed supporters of Donald Trump – this time over outrage with his pick of an Indian-American man for policy advisor on artificial intelligence (AI).
Lemon, 58, made the remarks Friday during a particularly foul-mouthed livestream on his personal YouTube page.
Full of f-bombs and cackles, the fired CNN star’s rant saw him first claim Trump voters were all ‘f**king stupid’ – after they pushed back on the president-elect’s appointment of Shiram Krishnan.
‘You dumb f**king idiots, now you’re just figuring this s**t out,’ he went on to quip – seemingly relishing in the ongoing outcry from conservatives over Krishnan’s advocacy for immigration and desire to remove current restrictions on green cards.
‘You’re so f***ing stupid and you deserve it,’ Lemon said, breaking out into laughter at several points.
‘You f**king deserve it ’cause you’re so dumb,’ he continued, claiming conservatives who disagreed with him politically were part of a ‘cult.’
‘You have been co-opted ’cause you’re in a f**king cult and you don’t even realize it,’ he said, days after taking to the street to ask New York City residents a series of loaded, leading questions about Elon Musk‘s influence over the president-elect.
‘How stupid and dumb are you?’

Don Lemon has once again slammed supporters of Donald Trump – this time over outrage over his pick of an Indian-American man for policy advisor on artificial intelligence
Lemon, 58, made the remarks Friday in response to the president-elect’s appointment of Shiram Krishnan – and the conservative backlash that followed
In 2022, Krishnan, 40, announced that he was working with Elon Musk on the rebuilding of Twitter – now X – following Musk’s $44billion acquisition, with the former Facebook and Microsoft staffer reportedly among those floated as a potential CEO.
On December 22 – mere minutes after being named Trump’s incoming senior policy advisor on all things AI, Musk, a 53-year-old US citizen born in South African, personally congratulated the tech entrepreneur.
‘Congratulations!’ Musk, also tapped to hold a position in Trump’s administration, tweeted in reply to a post from Krishnan confirming the appointment.
‘Thank you Elon,’ the coder-turned-venture capitalist wrote in reply. ‘Excited for what this administration can accomplish for America.’
As for Lemon – nearly two years removed from his sudden firing from CNN after more than 17 years – he claimed those surprised by the new development were simply suffering from ‘stupid MAGA brain.’
‘You don’t get it,’ he proceeded to tell viewers, as his stream racked up a little over 50,000 views.
The video, meanwhile, was titled MAGA Civil War – and was accompanied with a misleading caption that claimed ‘MAGA [was] turning against Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy’ because of their disapproval.
‘Will this lead to a divide in the party?’ Lemon, whose own firing came weeks after he was put paid leave for offensive comments about women made on the air to his female co-stars. ‘Will Musk and Ramaswamy be ousted?’

On December 22 – mere minutes after being named Trump’s incoming senior policy advisor on all things AI, Elon Musk personally congratulated the tech entrepreneur who reportedly helped him rebuild Twitter into X back in 2022
The coder-turned-venture capitalist – seen here with wife Aarthi Ramamurthy in 2018 – immigrated to the US from India in 2005 at the age of 21. He has expressed a desire to make it easier for immigrants to obtain a green card, among other things. He became a citizen in 2016
Late last month, Krishnan, a partner at Silicon Valley based Andreessen Horowitz, raised eyebrows when he announced was leaving the VC firm at the end of the year.
As for why, the founding member of Microsoft’s Windows Azure team did not say – but did offer some clues that saw some claim he was set to join Musk and Vivek at newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
‘What’s next? I’ll have more on that in a bit but it’s obvious we are living through a unique moment in history,’ Krishnan, who has held roles within Big Tech companies like Snap as well, wrote in the cryptic post.
‘I’m going to be jumping all into something I’ve wanted to spend my energy on. More on that in the coming months.’
Reports immediately emerged claiming the talks surrounded Musk and Ramaswamy’s prospective plans to streamline the government.
Earlier in the month, Krishnan, who immigrated to the US when he was 21, tweeted the need to remove country caps for green cards, saying it it limiting the influx of skilled tech workers from countries like India.
Shortly thereafter, Musk tweeted out in support for this notion, calling the current cap – seven percent per country – ‘racist’.
This spawned some discord within the MAGA group – something Lemon appeared to relish in during his broadcast.

Lemon’s video, meanwhile, was titled MAGA Civil War – and was accompanied with a misleading caption that claimed ‘MAGA [was] turning against [Musk] and Vivek Ramaswamy’ because of their disapproval. Both men have been tapped to lead Trump’s newly created DOGE
Others, like far-right activist Laura Loomer, called the Indian-American entrepreneur’s appointment ‘deeply disturbing’, accusing Krishnan of not holding an ‘America First’ ideology.
‘Deeply disturbing to see the appointment of Sriram Krishnan @sriramk as Senior Policy Advisor for AI at the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
‘It’s alarming to see the number of career leftists who are now being appointed to serve in Trump’s admin when they share views that are in direct opposition to Trump’s America First agenda.’
Her comments, aside from honing in on the Indian-American’s advocacy for legal immigration, appeared to reference the litany of Silicon Valley leaders linked to Doge by insiders, including Palantir cofounder Joe Lonsdale and hedge-funder Bill Ackman.
Former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and the cofounder of Krishnan’s firm, Marc Andreessen, are also part of the party laying the groundwork for the federal government startup, The Washington Post reported.
Some have suggested the burgeoning Trump-techie alliance proves as evidence that figures are now aligning with the conservative to reap the financial benefits once he takes office.
Others, meanwhile, have resorted to racist vitriol when it came to expressing disdain over Trump’s newest pick, with one tweet that’s amassed 2.3million views at the time of writing containing a doctored image portraying Krishnan’s face as a plate of butter chicken.
‘Here is what Sriram Krishnan would look like if he was butter chicken,’ the widely seen tweet read.

Another further accused him of being ‘India first’ while suggesting his goal was to replace American workers with Indians.
‘No matter what Sriram Krishnan says, he is INDIA First. No matter what the people around him say.
‘Their only goal is to import more Indians to REPLACE American Workers.’
Lemon, meanwhile, has yet to sign with a new network following his lengthy stint with CNN.
Musk, in March, canceled Lemon’s then- new show on his website X, after an off-the rails interview where a visibly irritated Musk batted back strongly worded questions about free speech and white nationalist conspiracy theories.
In it, Lemon is seen asking Musk – who since taking the reins of the site has touted a desire for a platform with zero censorship – about hate speech and The Great Replacement Theory.
‘Hate speech ‘On the platform,’ Lemon began, seated opposite Musk. ‘[It’s] up.’
‘Do you believe that X and you have some responsibility to moderate hate speech on the platform, [and] that you wouldn’t have to answer these questions from reporters about The Great Replacement Theory as it released-‘

The short-lived series, called ‘The Don Lemon Show’, was scrapped shortly thereafter, leaving Lemon without a platform again. His new show on YouTube, seen here is titled the same
He was reportedly paid out more than $24million by CNN as part of his ouster nearly two years ago, which came days after on-air comments surrounding women and their age that reportedly caused costars Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins to walk off the set
Musk immediately cut his host off.
‘I don’t have to – I don’t have to answer questions from reporters,’ he insisted, growing visibly irate.
‘Don, the only reason I’m doing this review is because you’re on the X platform, and you asked for it,’ he added. ‘Otherwise, there would, [I would] not do this interview.’

In a recent segment on CNN, Don Lemon couldn’t contain his laughter as he mockingly imitated “stupid” Trump supporters. In a fit of maniacal laughter, Lemon dropped four f-bombs as he ridiculed those who continue to support the former president.Lemon’s outburst has sparked backlash from viewers and critics alike, with many calling his behavior unprofessional and disrespectful. Some have accused him of further dividing an already polarized political landscape with his inflammatory rhetoric.
While Lemon is known for his outspoken commentary and criticism of the Trump administration, this latest outburst has raised questions about the line between opinion and incitement. As a public figure and journalist, Lemon’s words carry weight and influence, and his actions in this segment have left many wondering if he crossed a line.
Regardless of one’s political beliefs, it’s clear that civility and respect should be upheld in public discourse. Mocking and belittling those with differing viewpoints only serves to deepen the divide and hinder productive dialogue. As we navigate a complex and divided political landscape, it’s important to remember the power of words and the impact they can have on shaping public opinion.

Heather Rae Young brushed off an internet troll’s comment that her lace red Christmas dress was “not appropriate” for a mother.
“Comments like this make me laugh,” the “Selling Sunset” alum wrote on her Instagram Story Monday over a screenshot of the criticism.
“I don’t even get offended anymore by the rudeness of others. I choose to spread joy not hate.”
Heather Rae Young had a classy clapback for an internet troll who criticized her Christmas dress as she laughed off the rude comment Monday. Instagram/@theheatherraeelmoussa “I don’t even get offended anymore by the rudeness of others. I choose to spread joy not hate,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. Instagram/@theheatherraeelmoussa Young, 37, shared a collection of photos earlier in the day showing off her figure in a sheer red gown from what appeared to be her and her husband Tarek El Moussa’s early Christmas celebration.
“Fav time of year, & fav plus one,” she captioned the post.
In the comments section, one follower wrote, “The dress is not appropriate. Your [sic] a mother now.”
Young quickly fired back at the hater, commenting back, “so because I’m a mother I can’t wear a pretty dress that makes me feel beautiful? What does that have to do with anything?”

Your [sic] a mother now,” one social media user commented. Instagram/@theheatherraeelmoussa She added, “I am still a human and my name is heather I’m not just a mother. Choose joy.”
This isn’t the first time the “Flip Off” star has had to address rude comments on her social media photos.
In November, Young preemptively addressed potential nosy followers looking too deeply into her Thanksgiving post by addressing why her stepdaughter, Taylor, 14, was not with her family for the holiday.
The set of pictures included El Moussa, 43, the couple’s son, Tristan, 1, and Young’s stepson, Brayden, 8.
“so because I’m a mother I can’t wear a pretty dress that makes me feel beautiful?” Young responded. theheatherraeelmoussa/Instagram In addition to her son, Tristan, 1, Young is a stepmother to El Moussa’s children Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 8. theheatherraeelmoussa/Instagram “For the haters – Tay is on a trip with her mom, that’s why she’s not in our photo,” Young wrote, referring to her husband’s ex-wife, Christina Hall.
“We are thankful for our kids, Taylor, Brayden & Tristan. They bring so much innocence, love and laughter to our lives. And our big blended crazy but beautiful family,” the former Netflix personality shared elsewhere in her caption.
Young and El Moussa tied the knot in October 2021.
Heather Rae Young, star of the hit reality show “Selling Sunset,” is known for her impeccable style and fashion sense. However, when she recently stepped out in a lace Christmas dress that sparked some criticism online, she didn’t let it phase her.In a recent Instagram post, Heather shared a photo of herself wearing the stunning lace dress, complete with festive red accents. While some fans praised her for looking gorgeous and festive, others criticized the dress for being too revealing or too over-the-top for a Christmas party.
But instead of letting the negative comments get to her, Heather decided to laugh them off. In the caption of the post, she wrote, “When they say you’re too extra for Christmas, just laugh it off and keep slaying anyway #hatersgonnahate.”
Heather’s response to the criticism just goes to show that she’s confident in her own skin and isn’t afraid to take fashion risks. And with her impeccable sense of style, it’s no wonder she continues to turn heads wherever she goes.
So, next time you’re faced with criticism for your outfit choices, take a page out of Heather’s book and just laugh it off. After all, fashion is all about expressing yourself and having fun with your look.
