Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 live – counting down to the Galaxy S25 launch

Refresh

Samsung and Google are working on Project Moohan (Image credit: Google)

Are you hoping for more than just Galaxy phones tomorrow? Don’t hold your breath for any live products, but maybe we’ll get a hint. Samsung has built a habit recently of dropping hints about upcoming new product lines at the end of major Unpacked events, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for any secret slides that make it into the slideshow.

We’re hoping for some sort of information about Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses, Project Moohan. Google has been open about working with Samsung directly to build a version of Android that will work across AR and VR technology, for so-called XR capabilities. Will Samsung drop hints about an Apple Vision Pro competitor tomorrow, or will we have to wait longer?

Last minute rumors have started to suggest we may see something tomorrow, though it won’t steal thunder from Samsung’s big handset launch. I’m guessing we’ll get a hint with a proper introduction closer to mid-year 2025, as Samsung’s own Developer Conference and Google I/O draw near.

Alongside hardware and Galaxy AI features, it’s likely that Samsung’s next set of smartphones will be the first to ship with its next user interface. Dubbed One UI 7 by Samsung and first announced at the tech giant’s Developers Conference in 2024, it brings with it several new features and some UX changes.

While it did roll out in beta in December to devices like the Galaxy S24, this will most likely be the first entirely new device to launch with Samsung’s latest Android flavor.

Since AI is the buzzword in tech these days, One UI 7 will bring improved writing tools that can work in nearly any app and ushers in AI-powered call transcriptions.

While the star of Samsung’s first Galaxy Unpacked of 2025 will likely be a trio of smartphones, there is a good chance some attention will be paid to its lineup of wearables like the Galaxy Watch Ultra or the Galaxy Ring.

In fact, the January 2024 Galaxy Unpacked was the event where the Galaxy Ring was first teased, so one year later might be the time for an update. While it’s unlikely for a new generation, especially as Samsung just rolled out two new sizes for its first-generation Ring, we could see some new software features or even deeper integration with the rest of the ecosystem.

While there have been countless rumors about Samsung’s next Galaxy S lineup, and just a few days ago, reported full specs were spotted, there is always the chance the Unpacked event could deliver some surprises.

And I am hoping it might be a splash color as last year Samsung pushed the Ultra lineup into its Titanium era. The silver titanium shade of the S24 Ultra remains one of my favorites, but I’m hoping for a pop this year or maybe for Samsung to deliver an excellent online exclusive color once again. Further, considering Samsung was second with titanium after Apple, it should take a page out of the back again, offer some vibrant shades like the iPhone 16 or 16 Plus, and even look at Google’s Pixel lineup for inspiration.

As my colleague Roland Moore-Colyer said earlier, you can bet that Samsung will talk a lot about its Galaxy AI feature set. Likely telling us how folks with Galaxy phones have been using it and setting up the stage to unveil even more features.

We could see expansions of features Samsung’s already rolled out within the Galaxy AI umbrella, like an improved ‘sketch to image,’ which debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and could see improvements across the board. Plus, with rumors of a fancy new chip and more RAM standard across all the Galaxy S25s, it should provide plenty of power for on-device processing.

I, for one, always appreciate that Samsung doesn’t generally divvy up features or make you get the best of the lineup. If the tech giant doesn’t stray from this formula, you can expect a bevy of new features across the rumored Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra – meaning, you can pick the one that best suits your needs versus spending the most for all the features.

Hello there, Jacob Krol – TechRadar’s Managing Editor, News – here and taking things over. And it’s an exciting time as we’re less than 24 hours from Samsung’s first Galaxy Unpacked of 2025 kicking off.

The event will start at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. GMT on January 22, or 5 a.m. AEDT on January 23 if you’re in Australia. Samsung should also have quite a bit to show off in the smartphone realm. As with previous events, you can already reserve whatever will be announced and score $50 in Samsung credit.

It’s pretty much a win-win, even if you’re only a little interested, and you can score it here.

And there you have it, that’s a rapid fire summary of what to expect from Samsung in a little more than 24 hours. Phew.

There could be some word on the virtual reality headset Samsung is working on with Google but the tips and rumors have been a little scant on that laterly, so don’t hold your breath.

Do expect a whole host of AI upgrades to filter into the heart of the Galaxy phones, and be retrofitted into older models; that’s my prediction at least. And I suspect AI upgrades will filter intp the wider Galaxy ecosystem; I’d like these to play nice with other Android-based systems but I won’t be holding my breath.

And forget seeing a Galaxy S25 Slim, as I don’t think that phone is happening.

Don’t place any bets on wearables being present as we had the Galaxy Ring debut less than a year ago.

These phones are tipped to be iterative upgrades over the Galaxy S24 lineup, Expect new colors, a new chipset across the board, likely 12GB of RAM for all the phones, new colors, and new AI features.

Don’t expect any major design changes. But do expect new Galaxy AI features and improvements.

We’re expecting to see three new phones at the Unpacked showcase, in which our Editor-at-Large Lance Ulanoff and our Social Editor Viktoria Shilets will be attending in person in the USA’s San Jose.

Right we’re a little over 24 hours away from Galaxy Unpacked 2025… let’s have a quick rundown of things thus far.

(Image credit: Future | Roland Moore-Colyer)

So there have been rumors of the so-called Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, which as its name would suggest will be a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25 or S25 Ultra.

I doubt we’ll see that phone pop up tomorrow, and I’m not 100% convinced it’ll be a thing. The Galaxy phones are already pretty svelte without feeling like they’d leap out of one’s hands, so I’m not sure I can see Samsung mess with that formula too much. I could be wrong, of course.

(Image credit: Future | Alex Walker-Todd)

Now a public service announcement: this is your last call to secure a Samsung Galaxy S25 reservation and score a bonus while you’re at it.

Over to our Deals Editor Alex Whitelock: “Why reserve? Well, you’ll not only secure yourself a guaranteed slot once preorders go live but also get a handy $50 in-store credit and the chance to win $5,000 in a sweepstake. These gifts will stack on top of whatever preorder promotions that Samsung decides to offer tomorrow so it’s a handy bonus that’s well worth signing up for.

“To sign up, all you need to do is head on over to Samsung and provide an email address. This particular promotion is completely free and doesn’t lock you into a preorder – so there’s no real commitment if you change your mind tomorrow.”

Check out the box below.

To slightly mix things up a bit, we’ve seen a tipster claim that Samsung will launch four foldable phones this year. If that holds true, then it could make this Unpacked seem a little tame.

Supposedly, Samsung has plans to launch a Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, a cheaper foldable phone, and a tri-folding phone; the latter would get my attention.

Good morning, I’m back to chat Galaxy Unpacked. And let’s kick things off with a little overview of how to watch the showcase tomorrow.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked kicks off at at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on Wednesday, January 22, and there are a number of ways to watch the livestream.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will be available to watch on Samsung’s website, Samsung Newsroom, and the Samsung YouTube channel.

Of course, we’ll be reporting and breaking down the reveals and updates as we hear them, both here on our live blog and through our dedicated Samsung Galaxy phones coverage.

It’s late in the night UK time, where I am, so I’ll be back in the morning to talk more about Galaxy Unpacked and the tipped Galaxy S25 range. And expect some chat about AI.

Until, then farewell.

(Image credit: Future | Roland Moore-Colyer)

When it comes to cameras, I’m hoping the Samsung takes a hard look at the photos the Galaxy S24 phones kick out and makes some tweaks to its computational photography.

While Samsung has curtailed some of the color saturation excess found in yesteryear’s Galaxy models, right now phone photography from Samsung, Apple, Google and perhaps OnePlus, is all a little flat, with processed photos that look very similar and lack the contrast between shadows and highlights to really sing; at least in their default shooting modes.

So I’d like to see Samsung let the next-gen Galaxy cameras sing and not let image processing even everything out excessively,

Throwing the ball back over to Jamie, as we take the specs conversation over to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra cameras and their rumored upgrades.

A new Ultra ultrawide?

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (Image credit: Samsung)

Keen photographers will be looking to the Galaxy S-series Ultra’s somewhat iconic quad-camera system, and if the latest rumors are anything to go by, there is one key upgrade on the way. We’re expecting to see the Galaxy S25 Ultra equipped with a new 50MP ultra-wide camera, up from the 12MP ultra-wide found on the S24 Ultra.

Sure, it’s not a revolutionary improvement, but this should lend well to a more consistent camera experience across the phone’s four optical zoom levels.

From my perspective, I’m hoping the new Qualcomm chipset brings in a big uptick in gaming power for the Galaxy S25, especially the Ultra. Apple’s A18 Pro and the A17 Pro before it allowed for true console-quality games to be played on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro, so I’d like to see Samsung manage the same, especially since it used to work closely with Microsoft; imagine proper Xbox games on the Galaxy S25 running natively.

In reference to those seemingly leaked specs, it’s over to my colleague and staff writer Jamie RIchards for some context on the tipped Snapdragon chipset.

Snapdragon after all

The Samsung Galaxy S24 (Image credit: Philip Berne / Future)

There’s been some back and forth in the months leading up to Samsung Galaxy Unpacked about which chipset the Galaxy S25 lineup would make use of. Some tipsters pointed to Samsung’s troubled Exynos line of chipsets for the new flagships, but production issues seem to have taken too much of a toll for these proprietary processors to make it into this year’s lineup.

The latest major specs leak (courtesy of noted tipster @MysteryLupin) points to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. As Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is one of the fastest mobile platforms on the market, which bodes well for the S25 series’ performance.

So going by those ‘leaked’ specs, it looks like there’s not going to be a lot change with the Galaxy S25 series as a whole. 12GB or RAM for the standard S25 looks promising and should help with snappy AI workloads. And the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy would appear to be a custom version of an already powerful chipset, so there’s scope for that to bring some serious performance grunt to the table,

Right before I muse more on AI and other bits, first dsome new: just about every single Samsung Galaxy S25 spec has been shown up in what appears to be a new leak. Check them out in the tweet below.

Speaking of Galaxy AI, I’ll buy a hat and eat it if there’s no mention of new AI features for the Galaxy S25 series. I’m expecting a host of upgrades and new features, likely an improved Generative Edit being one of the first upgrades out of the gates.

I’d also like to see Galaxy AI better integrated across the One UI operating system, as my colleague and Senior Editor Philip Berne noted in his Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review, Galaxy Ai feels somewhat fiddly to access and use.

(Image credit: Zachariah Kelly / TechRadar)

There’s no murmur on any wearables at this Galaxy Unpacked. But as we had the Galaxy Ring launch mid last year, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, there’s already enough wearables from Samsung to keep us ticking over for now.

I’d predict osme AI upgrades for the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch series, though how these will manifest isn’t clear.

So what’s all the fuss about? Well as mentioned, this Unpacked is very likely be one that’s fully focused on the next-generations Galaxy phones. We’re not expecting much else in terms of hardware.

This could be disappointing to some as the Galaxy S25 family as a whole has been tipped to be somewhat of an iterative upgrade over the Galaxy S24 lineup, which brought in Galaxy AI.

Good afternoon or morning or evening, depending on where you are, I (Roland Moore-Colyer) am here to chat about the Galaxy S25 rumors so far and what we can expect to see at the first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event of 2025, which takes place on January 22.

SpaceX halted rocket launch seconds before takeoff Sunday

SpaceX halted the launch of a Falcon 9 rocket on Sunday with 11 seconds to spare after a plane allegedly flew into restricted airspace near the launchpad.

The California exhibition set to send Starlink satellites into orbit fell apart at the last minute when an aircraft encroached on the rocket’s launch space, according to a broadcast on Space X’s X account.

At the 12-second mark of the countdown, someone can be heard exclaiming, “Hold, hold hold!”

“Uh, held for a possible aircraft in the airspace,” the same voice can be heard saying moments later.

The launch, which was initially supposed to take place on Saturday, was then postponed, according to Business Insider.

It was not immediately clear which aircraft, if any, caused the aborted launch.

Several planes flew near the restricted area near the scheduled launch time, according to the outlet.

While social media culprits suspected Delta Flight 480, which flew from Los Angeles to Honolulu early Sunday, the airline said they followed air traffic control’s instructions and had “no issue.”

Meanwhile, audio from air traffic control shared on the YouTube channel VAS Aviation revealed an air traffic controller telling the Delta flight they would have “the best show for the rocket launch.”

Another flight, Southwest Flight SWA1311, flying from San Diego to Honolulu, was also near the launch zone at the time, but neither the airline nor the FAA received reports about the incident, according to the outlet.

The rocket was successfully launched Tuesday morning, according to the SpaceX X account.

“Falcon lands for the 400th time!” the account wrote, confirming the deployment of 27 Starlink satellites.

SpaceX halted rocket launch seconds before takeoff Sunday

In a surprising turn of events, SpaceX was forced to cancel a scheduled rocket launch just seconds before liftoff on Sunday. The Falcon 9 rocket, which was set to carry a payload of satellites into orbit, was halted due to an unspecified issue that was detected during the final countdown.

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, took to Twitter to explain the situation, stating that the decision to abort the launch was made out of an abundance of caution. He assured followers that the issue would be thoroughly investigated and addressed before the next launch attempt.

This unexpected delay serves as a reminder of the complexities and challenges of space travel, and the importance of rigorous safety protocols in the industry. While disappointing for those eagerly anticipating the launch, the decision to prioritize safety over schedule demonstrates SpaceX’s commitment to ensuring the success of their missions.

Stay tuned for updates on when the rescheduled launch will take place, as SpaceX works to resolve the issue and resume their ambitious efforts to explore the cosmos.

Ukraine and Russia launch major strikes on each other with Trump’s inauguration days away

CNN
 —

Ukraine and Russia have been exchanging major drone and missile strikes, with each seeking to gain an advantage as US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration nears.

The incoming US leader has pledged to bring a quick end to the fighting, but with few details available on how he would achieve this his arrival at the White House brings great uncertainty to a full-blown Russian invasion about to enter its fourth year.

Overnight on Monday into Tuesday, Kyiv carried out what it said was its “most massive” attack of the conflict so far, attacking deep inside Russia with drones and missiles, including six US-made long-range ATACMS ballistic missiles, Ukrainian and Russian officials said.

Outgoing US President Joe Biden gave the green light for Ukraine to use American longer-range missiles to strike inside Russia in November last year, something Moscow sees as a major escalation.

Moscow has previously warned that the use of ATACMs would be met with the firing of Russia’s new weapon, an intermediate-range hypersonic ballistic missile known as “Oreshnik.” The missile has only been fired once before, on November 21.

The Ukrainian army said that military and oil facilities were targeted in their latest barrage, saying such attacks would continue “until the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine is completely stopped.”

Russia launched its own bombardment of Ukraine overnight into Wednesday, predominantly targeting Ukraine’s beleaguered energy sector.

According to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, the overnight attacks involved more than 40 missiles, of which 30 were destroyed. More than 70 Russian attack drones were also involved.

“Another massive Russian attack. It’s the middle of winter, and the target for the Russians remains the same: our energy sector,” Zelensky said in a Wednesday statement.

“The targets include gas infrastructure and energy facilities that ensure normal life for people.”

The attack forced Ukraine’s state energy company, Ukrenergo, to temporarily shut off its power supplies – a measure it takes to prevent the energy system from collapsing. Power was restored by 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday, it said.

People take shelter inside a metro station in Kyiv on January 15.

Russia has repeatedly pounded Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during the cold winter months, forcing the country to implement emergency power outages.

The uptick in strikes comes in the lead up to Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

Nikolai Patrushev, an advisor to Putin, rejected the idea that Russia might be willing to concede any occupied territory to Ukraine, in an interview with Russian newspaper Komsomolyskaya Pravda, published Tuesday.

He also said Ukraine could cease to exist as a sovereign state in 2025, without offering further explanation.

“It can’t be ruled out that Ukraine will cease to exist at all in the coming year,” Patrushev said.

In a separate development, reports have emerged that an Australian national captured while fighting for Ukraine may have been killed by Russia, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese pledging to take the “strongest action possible,” if confirmed.

Oscar Jenkins was captured by Russian forces last month, after which a video surfaced of him being questioned while dressed in a military uniform. Australian national broadcaster ABC and CNN affiliate Seven News reported that the 32-year-old has likely been killed, both citing sources in Ukraine.

In a startling turn of events, Ukraine and Russia have launched major strikes on each other just days before President-elect Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated. Tensions between the two countries have been escalating for years, but the recent attacks have brought the conflict to a boiling point.

The strikes have resulted in significant civilian casualties and widespread destruction in both countries. The international community is calling for an immediate ceasefire and diplomatic resolution to end the violence.

The timing of these attacks is particularly concerning, as the world watches and waits to see how the incoming Trump administration will handle the situation. Many are wondering if Trump’s close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin will influence his response to the conflict.

As the world holds its breath, the future of Ukraine and Russia hangs in the balance. Will Trump’s inauguration bring a new era of peace and stability, or will the conflict continue to escalate? Only time will tell.

Vivek Ramaswamy to leave DOGE and launch a run for Ohio governor

WASHINGTON — Vivek Ramaswamy will launch a campaign for governor in Ohio early next week and is parting ways with President Donald Trump’s incoming Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, two sources familiar with his plans told NBC News.

Ramaswamy’s interest in seeking office in his home state is not a surprise. But his decision to leave DOGE now removes him from the high command of a federal spending watchdog group that he was supposed to run with Elon Musk, the billionaire Tesla CEO and owner of X.

“He’s leaving DOGE. He’s going to announce early next week for governor,” said one of the sources, who was granted anonymity to discuss preparations for a campaign that has not officially launched. “It became increasingly clear over the last week that pursuing the governor’s race and running DOGE was not compatible. He’s leaving on good terms with Trump, Elon and the team.”

A post on X issued Monday morning around the time that Ramaswamy’s departure from DOGE became public, underscored how abruptly he was pivoting away from one of Trump’s top priorities.

A new dawn,” Ramaswamy posted alongside a photo of him with Musk.

In a statement, Trump transition spokesperson Anna Kelly praised Ramaswamy for having played a “critical role” in establishing DOGE.

“He intends to run for elected office soon, which requires him to remain outside of DOGE based on the structure that we announced today,” Kelly added. “We thank him immensely for his contributions over the last 2 months and expect him to play a vital role in making America great again!”

Ramaswamy, a wealthy biotech entrepreneur, briefly challenged Trump for the Republican presidential nomination last year before he became one of his most visible and vocal allies. He had said he was putting his Ohio political ambitions on hold to help lead the DOGE effort.

At the time, Ramaswamy was taking himself out of the running for the appointment to the Senate vacancy in Ohio left by Vice President-elect JD Vance. But Ramaswamy resurfaced as a late contender for that job, meeting last week with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, who eventually selected Lt. Gov. Jon Husted.

That move quickly upended the 2026 race for governor, as Husted was considered a leading candidate to succeed DeWine, a fellow Republican, who is term-limited. Two other GOP officials with statewide name recognition — state Attorney General Dave Yost and state Treasurer Robert Sprague — were already plotting their own bids for governor. And Ramaswamy’s signals last week that he was about to join them only accelerated their preparations.

Ramaswamy mingled with Ohio Republicans at their inaugural ball here Sunday night. But he left conspicuously early, according to three attendees, who were granted anonymity to share details of a private event. His appearance struck these Republicans as unusually perfunctory for someone about to launch a campaign for governor.

“He can’t bother to spend more than 45 minutes with 1,400 of the most influential Republicans in Ohio,” a GOP leader in the state said. “It’s next-level arrogance.”

A Ramaswamy adviser did not respond to a question about his appearance.

On the Democratic side, Amy Acton, a physician who was DeWine’s health director during the early days of Covid, has declared her candidacy for governor.

Vivek Ramaswamy, the founder of biotech company Roivant Sciences and a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency world, has announced that he will be leaving his position as CEO of decentralized currency DOGE to launch a run for Ohio governor.

Ramaswamy, who has been a vocal advocate for blockchain technology and digital currencies, has decided to shift his focus to politics in order to bring about change in his home state of Ohio. In a statement, Ramaswamy expressed his excitement for the opportunity to serve the people of Ohio and address the pressing issues facing the state.

As a successful entrepreneur and advocate for innovation, Ramaswamy’s decision to enter the political arena has garnered attention from both supporters and critics. Many see his entry into the race as a welcome change from traditional politicians, while others question his lack of political experience.

Regardless of the outcome of his gubernatorial run, Ramaswamy’s decision to leave DOGE and pursue a career in politics marks a significant turning point in his career. Only time will tell if he will be able to translate his business acumen and passion for technology into effective governance for the people of Ohio.

‘You’re not supposed to say this out loud!’: Baldur’s Gate 3 dev reacts to analyst who says some game makers ‘hope’ Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost up to $100 at launch

Larian head of publishing Michael Douse warned that game companies are saying the quiet part out loud after industry analyst Michael Ball wrote that some of them are hoping Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch with a price of at least $80, and possibly as high as $100.

The remark came in Ball’s “State of Videogaming in 2025” report, which lists Grand Theft Auto 6 as one of several “potential new ‘growth engines’,” alongside things like user-generated content, the release of the Switch 2, and the growth of “non-core” markets.

In a recent interview with a gaming analyst, it was revealed that some game developers are hoping that Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost up to $100 at launch. This shocking revelation has sparked controversy within the gaming community, with many fans expressing their outrage at the idea of such a high price tag for a single game.

One developer who was quick to respond to this news was the team behind Baldur’s Gate 3. In a statement released on social media, they expressed their disbelief at the analyst’s comments, stating, “You’re not supposed to say this out loud! The idea of charging players $100 for a game is ridiculous and goes against everything we believe in as game developers. We strive to create immersive and engaging experiences for our players, not price them out of enjoying our games.”

The backlash against the idea of a $100 price tag for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been swift and fierce, with many calling on game developers to prioritize player enjoyment over profits. It remains to be seen whether Rockstar Games, the developer behind the Grand Theft Auto series, will heed this outcry and reconsider their pricing strategy for their highly anticipated upcoming title.

In the meantime, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can rest assured that the developers behind their favorite game have their best interests at heart and will continue to provide quality gaming experiences at an affordable price.

Launch Roundup: SpaceX returns to launching Starlink following Starship launch

Launch Roundup: SpaceX returns to launching Starlink following Starship launch – NASASpaceFlight.com

SpaceX has been making headlines once again with a flurry of launches, including the highly anticipated return to launching their Starlink satellites following a successful Starship launch.

The company successfully launched their Starship SN15 prototype on May 5th, marking a major milestone in their efforts to develop a fully reusable spacecraft. The launch was a success, with the SN15 completing a high-altitude flight test before making a successful landing back on Earth.

Following the Starship launch, SpaceX wasted no time getting back to work on their Starlink satellite constellation. On May 9th, the company launched another batch of 60 Starlink satellites into orbit, bringing them one step closer to providing global internet coverage.

SpaceX is preparing to launch its latest batch of Starlink satellites for its internet megaconstellation shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

A Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch the Starlink 13-1 mission from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 12:24 a.m. EST (0524 UTC).

Spaceflight Now will have live coverage beginning about an hour prior to liftoff.

On Monday, the 45th Weather Squadron forecast conditions to go from good to poor across the launch window on Tuesday. Meteorologists suggested that conditions at the opening of the window will be about 85 percent favorable for liftoff, but deteriorate to 40 percent by the of the window.

“The forecast question for the primary launch window late tonight will be how quickly clouds and rain return to the area as the old frontal boundary lifts back to the north,” launch weather officers wrote. “There remains good model agreement that the highest rain chances hold off until after the end of the window, but still expect increasing clouds and showers to creep in from the south, especially for the back half of the window.

“With this setup, the main weather concern is likely to be Thick Cloud Layers, with a smaller embedded Cumulus Cloud threat as rain coverage increases late.”

If SpaceX ends up not being able to launch Tuesday morning, the 24-hour backup window has drastically worse weather, with just a 10 percent chance of favorable conditions.

The Falcon 9 first stage booster, tail number B1083, will used to launch the mission. It’s previous missions included the launches of Crew-8, Polaris Dawn and CRS-31.

After launching for an eighth time, B1083 will target a landing on the SpaceX droneship, ‘A Shortfall of Gravias,’ which is positioned out in the Atlantic Ocean. If successful, this will be the 95 landing for ASOG and the 399th booster landing to date.

The Starlink 13-1 mission will be SpaceX’s fifth dedicated Starlink launch of the year and its ninth orbital launch in 2025.

SpaceX is gearing up for another exciting launch as they prepare to send 21 Starlink satellites into orbit aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center. This mission, scheduled for [insert date], marks another milestone in the company’s efforts to provide global internet coverage through their Starlink constellation.

The Falcon 9 rocket will lift off from Launch Complex 39A, carrying the 21 satellites as part of SpaceX’s ongoing efforts to expand their satellite internet network. These satellites will join the existing constellation of over 1,500 Starlink satellites already in orbit, bringing us one step closer to widespread global internet coverage.

This launch is just another example of SpaceX’s commitment to innovation and advancement in the field of space technology. Stay tuned for updates on the launch and the deployment of the Starlink satellites as SpaceX continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in space exploration.

Ramaswamy done at DOGE, Ohio gubernatorial campaign launch expected early next week: sources

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is done at President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, a source close to the multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur confirmed to Fox News Digital.

And Ramaswamy, who along with Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, was tapped in November by Trump to steer DOGE, is expected to launch a Republican campaign for Ohio governor early next week, according to the source.

GOP Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio is term-limited and cannot seek re-election in 2026.

DeWine on Friday announced that Lt. Gov. Jon Husted would fill the U.S. Senate seat that was held by former Sen. JD Vance until earlier this month, when the vice president stepped down ahead of Monday’s inauguration.

Before the Senate announcement, Husted had planned to run for governor in 2026 to succeed DeWine. Ramaswamy, for his part, had expressed interest in serving in the Senate.

DeWine’s decision to choose Husted to fill the vacant Senate seat appeared to accelerate Ramaswamy’s move toward launching a run for governor.

Ramaswamy, 39, who launched his presidential campaign in February 2023, saw his stock rise as he went from a long shot to a contender for the Republican nomination.

Ramaswamy campaigned on what he called an “America First 2.0” agenda and was one of Trump’s biggest supporters in the field of rivals, calling Trump the “most successful president in our century.”

He dropped his White House bid a year ago after a distant fourth-place finish in the Iowa caucuses and quickly endorsed Trump, becoming a top surrogate on the campaign trail.

Ramaswamy’s exit appears to clear the way for Musk, Trump’s top donor and key ally, to steer DOGE without having to share the limelight.

The move also comes a couple of weeks after Ramswamy and Musk sparked a firestorm among Trump’s hard core MAGA supporters over their support for H-1B temporary worker visas for highly skilled workers from foreign countries.

Ramaswamy’s comments criticizing an American culture that he said “venerated mediocrity over excellence” received plenty of pushback from leading voices on the far right.

Ohio, which was once a top general election battleground, has shifted red over the past decade as Republicans have dominated statewide elections.

According to sources close to the campaign, Ramaswamy is all set to officially announce his bid for the Ohio gubernatorial race early next week. The Indian-American entrepreneur and founder of DOGE, a popular cryptocurrency, is reportedly ready to throw his hat in the ring for the top political post in the state.
