  • Massive Title Fight Leaked As Main Event for PPV


    UFC middleweight prospect Bo Nickal seems to have let a major cat out of the bag.

    In a video on his YouTube channel, the multi-time NCAA champion stated that UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria will be defending his title against Alexander Volkanovski in a rematch of the former’s title-winning performance in February 2024. The fight is reportedly set for April in the UFC 314 main event.

    When reminded by his co-host that the news hadn’t been announced, Nickal said, “No, it’s official. I know that for a fact. I don’t know that it was announced for a fact, but I know it’s happening. I’m announcing it.”

    I wouldn’t be surprised if he hears from UFC President Dana White or Hunter Campbell after this episode.

    In any case, if Nickal is accurate, UFC 314 is looking really strong. The card is already expected to feature Gilbert Burns taking on big-time prospect Michael Morales, Yan Xiaonan clashing with Virna Jandiroba, and Dominick Reyes fighting Nikita Krylov.

    If these fights stick, UFC 314 would have eight ranked fighters in action on the show’s main card, and we don’t yet appear to have a co-main event in place. The UFC could opt to bring Merab Dvalishvili back to defend his title in a rematch with Sean O’Malley.

    Alternatively, O’Malley could face Cory Sandhagen, with the winner potentially earning the next title shot. O’Malley vs. Petr Yan 2 is another intriguing possibility for the co-main event.

    If you’re looking for a fifth fight on the UFC 314 main card, Nickal also said, “I might fight on that card. That’s the card I’m trying to fight on; April in Miami.”

    Nickal is seemingly in line to face a ranked fighter in his next outing. Nickal vs. No. 15 Michel Pereira or No. 13 Jack Hermansson makes sense. If the UFC wants to push Nickal even higher in his eighth professional fight, they could potentially consider No. 11 Paulo Costa.

    The build for Nickal-Costa would be wildly entertaining.

    What’s Next For the UFC?

    Next up for the UFC is the trip to Saudi Arabia. The card has taken some hits in the past 48 hours, but the main event and co-main event are still set to go.

    In the co-main event, Shara Magomedov faces his toughest test when he takes on Michael “Venom” Page. In the main event, Israel Adesanya faces Nassourdine Imavov.

    De La Cruz has been an instant hit with fans since being called up by Cincinnati in 2023. He is hard to miss, standing at 6-foot-5 while ironically playing a position with the word “short” in it.   • CIA says that Covid-19 probably leaked from Chinese laboratory

    The CIA has concluded that Covid-19 probably began as a leak from a laboratory in China in a new assessment of the origins of the pandemic that killed millions of people.

    The US intelligence agency said it concluded with “low confidence” that the Covid-19 virus had leaked from the research facility, in a shift of its previous position that there was insufficient information to reach a conclusion.

    “CIA assesses with low confidence that a research-related origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely than a natural origin based on the available body of reporting,” the agency said in a statement on Saturday.

    “CIA continues to assess that both research-related and natural origin scenarios of the COVID-19 pandemic remain plausible.” 

    The US intelligence community — which is made up of 18 agencies — has been assessing the origin of Covid-19 for the past four years to determine if the virus emerged naturally from a wet market in Wuhan or whether it leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in the Chinese city.

    The CIA joins the FBI and energy department in concluding that the virus originated from the Wuhan lab. But it said it had “low confidence in this judgment” and would “continue to evaluate any available credible new intelligence reporting or open-source information” that could change its assessment.

    The new assessment was made public just days after John Ratcliffe was sworn in as CIA director.

    In an interview with Breitbart news after he was confirmed as President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the intelligence agency, Ratcliffe said he believed that intelligence and common sense “dictates that the origins of Covid was a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology” and would ensure that “the public is aware that the agency [CIA] is going to get off the sidelines”.

    One US official said Bill Burns, CIA head during the Biden administration, had told the CIA team assessing the evidence to take a position on the origin of Covid-19, but did not dictate the outcome.

    Burns’ directive came as Jake Sullivan, who served as national security adviser, ordered the intelligence community to take another look at the origins of the pandemic as the Biden team prepared to leave office.

    The US official stressed that the CIA had revised its assessment before Ratcliffe was sworn in as the new director.

    “I’ve said from the beginning that Covid likely originated in the Wuhan labs. Communist China covered it up and the liberal media covered for them, said Tom Cotton, the Republican head of the Senate intelligence committee.

    “I’m pleased the CIA concluded in the final days of the Biden administration that the lab-leak theory is the most plausible explanation of Covid’s origins, and I commend Director Ratcliffe for fulfilling his promise to release this conclusion. Now, the most important thing is to make China pay for unleashing a plague on the world.”

    The Chinese embassy in the US did not respond to a request for comment.

    The new CIA assessment change comes just over one week after Trump held his first phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping since at least 2021. While many foreign policy experts had expected Trump to take a tough line on China — particularly over trade — in his first week in office, the president has so far held off taking any harsh measures against Beijing.

    In an interview with Fox News this week, Trump said that while tariffs gave him “tremendous power” over China, he would “rather not have to use it”.

    He also signed an executive order postponing the deadline for the Chinese owner of TikTok to divest the popular video app to avoid a ban in the US.

    The new leak specifically comes from a Miami-based Rock Band who claims their music is being featured in the next GTA 6 trailer. The question is whether they are just after some publicity on the back of the fervor of GTA 6 or whether they are telling the truth. It is also possible it is the latter, but they are mistaken about the details. Whatever the case, some Grand Theft Auto fans have taken the band at face value. And according to the band — Raven and the Dark Shadows — the second GTA 6 trailer is releasing next month.

    “We a rock band out of Miami Beach, Florida. We are currently planning our Summer 2025 Tour and looking for ‘creepy/haunted’ venues to perform at,” writes the band on Reddit. “Our bands studio album, An Unkindness, features members of Pearl Jam, New Found Glory, Morphine, and Guns N Roses. Last year, we played Stephen Kings 75th birthday celebration. Next month, our brand new single, ‘Dracula New World Remix’, will be on the new trailer for GTA 6.”

    Unfortunately, the Reddit post — made on the Launceston, Tasmania Reddit page of al places — does not disclose a specific release date. it just mentions February. As for the song, those interested can check it out below:

    Of course, take this with a grain of salt. The fact the post was shared on the Launceston, Tasmania Reddit page doesn’t scream publicity stunt, however, that could be by design. That said, it also unclear why Rockstar Games would divulge to the band the trailer release date. And if it did do this, it would certainly put the information under NDA. So either there is nothing to this or the band just broke NDA.
