Taylor Swift is taking a step back from her friendship with Blake Lively after feeling like she was used as an ‘intimidation tactic’ by the actress in a lawsuit she never wanted to be embroiled in.

The singer, 35, was dragged into the explosive legal feud between Lively, 37, and Justin Baldoni, 41, when he claimed his costar used Swift to intimidate him at a meeting with her husband Ryan Reynolds about edits she had made to a rooftop scene in their film, It Ends with Us.

In his $400 million lawsuit, filed earlier this month, Baldoni said Swift showed up and made him feel like he ‘needed to comply with Blake’s direction for the script’.

Lively later appeared to threaten Baldoni by comparing herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi in a series of text messages in which she referred to Reynolds, 48, and her best friend as her ‘dragons’.

The ‘uncool and unnecessary’ description was reportedly the final straw for Swift who had never planned to be at the meeting, but arrived at Lively’s New York penthouse to find it was still ongoing.

‘For the time being she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get tangled in this more than she already has – which is far more than she ever needed to be,’ an insider told DailyMail.com.

‘Her friends also think that Blake’s “I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons” text to Justin was uncool and unnecessary because she was essentially used as an intimidation tactic. She was referred to as some kind of pet or possession.

‘Taylor shouldn’t even be involved in this at all. She was only going over to visit Blake and Ryan with the understanding that the meeting would be over.’

Khaleesi, also known as Daenerys Targaryen and Mother of Dragons, is one of the main characters in Game of Thrones, which aired between 2011 to 2019.

She was portrayed as a villain after descending into madness and turning to vengeance due to trauma and loss.

A second source said: ‘Taylor has politely backed away from it all. She is conscious of her own image and hates that she was even mentioned.’

The decision will no doubt shock fans of the Cruel Summer singer, who has been friends with the former Gossip Girl lead for a decade, with the pair celebrating milestones together and Swift even name dropping Lively’s children in her music.

She appeared to rally around Lively when rumours of rancour between the actress and Baldoni first started bubbling in August.

She was pictured arriving at Swift’s Rhode Island property, taking solace at the $17 million, eight bedroom estate alongside her husband Reynolds, to escape the frenzy.

At the time Lively was being called out for her ‘tone deaf’ marketing, apparently dismissing interview questions about domestic violence – a major theme in the movie – in favour of telling people to grab their ‘florals’ and head to the cinema.

Others accused her of using the attention to plug her alcohol brand Betty Booze.

Resurfaced interviews showing the actress being ‘rude’ to reporters also went viral on social media.

Lively and Swift were last pictured together in October on a double date with Deadpool actor Reynolds and Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce in Manhattan.

The outing came two months before she filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department in which she accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and creating a toxic environment on the set of It Ends with Us.

At the same time, the New York Times released a story based on her legal filing that accused him of orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Swift, whose song My Tears Ricochet was featured in the soundtrack, was then pulled into the roller coaster saga when Baldoni fired back with a stinging $400 million counter suit against Lively and Reynolds in which he accused the Hollywood couple of conspiring to trash his reputation.

Baldoni, who is also suing the Times for defamation, claimed Lively hijacked the filming of the movie as he attempted to blow her allegations to smithereens.

The ‘uncool and unnecessary’ description was the final straw for Swift who had never planned to be at the meeting, but arrived at Lively’s New York penthouse to find it was still ongoing.

The ‘uncool and unnecessary’ description was the final straw for Swift who had never planned to be at the meeting, but arrived at Lively’s New York penthouse to find it was still ongoing.

In her filing, the actress claimed a meeting was held at her home in January 2024 to address ‘a hostile work environment that had nearly derailed production’ and that both parties ‘discussed in detail the inappropriate conduct’ that Lively and other cast and crew experienced at the hands of Baldoni.

But in his suit, Baldoni claimed he was invited over with a Sony executive to discuss her rewrite of a rooftop scene when Reynolds ‘launched into enthusiastic praise for [Lively’s version]’. They were also joined by her ‘mega-celebrity friend to pressure him’.

While Baldoni did not name the famous pal he was referring to, he included screenshots of a later conversation with Lively, and one message showed him mentioning someone named ‘Taylor.’

It is during this exchange that Baldoni claims the actress joked that if he ever got ‘around to watching Game of Thrones’ that he would ‘appreciate that’ she is Khaleesi.

‘And like her, I happen to have a few dragons,’ she allegedly wrote. ‘For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. you will too, I can promise you.’

He also claims Reynolds ‘aggressively’ accused him of making offensive comments as well as ‘fat shaming’ her.

As Donald Trump tightens the nation’s immigration policies, lawmakers in Democrat-led states are proposing new measures that could erect legal obstacles for federal immigration officials and help immigrants lacking legal status avoid deportation.

The resistance efforts in California, New York and other states are a counterpoint to the many Republican-led states advancing measures to aid Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, highlighting a national divide.

In just his first week in office, Trump halted refugee arrivals; fast-tracked deportations; sent military troops to the southern border; lifted longtime rules restricting immigration enforcement near schools, churches and hospitals; attempted to end birthright citizenship; and ordered federal prosecutors to investigate state and local officials whom they believe are interfering with his crackdown on illegal immigration.

Hundreds of bills on immigration already have been introduced in states, and more action is expected next week. Republican governors Ron DeSantis of Florida and Bill Lee of Tennessee have called special legislative sessions to begin Monday to support Trump’s immigration agenda.

Meanwhile, Democrats in states such as Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington are backing measures to expand healthcare and higher education for immigrants, restrict landlords from inquiring about immigration status or block government agreements to open new immigrant-detention centers.

Many US adults support stronger security at the southern border and deporting immigrants in the US illegally who have been convicted of violent crimes, according to a survey by the Associated Press-Norc Center for Public Affairs Research. But some actions have less consensus. About four in 10 American adults support deporting all immigrants living in the US illegally, while a similar share are opposed.

In immigration courts, unlike in criminal courts, there is no constitutional right to a government-funded attorney. As Trump ramps up deportation efforts, some state measures would help pay for attorneys to defend people facing immigration proceedings.

One leader of such efforts is Catalina Cruz, a New York assembly member who came to the US at age nine from Colombia and remained without legal status for more than a decade before gaining permanent residency and becoming a US citizen and a lawyer.

Cruz has filed more than a half-dozen bills to aid immigrants. One would establish the right under state law to legal counsel in immigration proceedings in New York, or elsewhere if an immigrant was living in New York. Another would authorize state grants for organizations to hire, train and equip staff to provide legal aid to people facing deportation.

“In a world where the threat of mass deportations is imminent,” Cruz said, the legislation “gives people an opportunity to fight their case, to fight for their families, to fight for their rights”.

Cruz estimates 60% of the residents in her New York City legislative district are non-citizens, adding: “People are terrified.”

New York is among several states that already fund legal aid for immigrants. But advocates want about twice as much money as the Democratic governor, Kathy Hochul, has proposed.

“This is a moment where investing in due process and fairness for immigrants at risk in New York is of fundamental importance,” said Shayna Kessler, director of a universal representation initiative at the non-profit Vera Institute of Justice.

Some legislative proposals also would fund attorneys who could help immigrants obtain legal residency.

A bill by Lisa Reynolds, an Oregon state senator, would require the state department of human services to offer grants to non-profits to help people who aren’t citizens change their immigration status or become lawful permanent residents. It would provide $6m to launch the program during the budget biennium beginning in July.

    skip past newsletter promotion

“Oregon has had a very proud tradition of doing all we can to help those who have recently immigrated to our state from other countries, and especially those who have been political refugees,” Reynolds said. “We’re all feeling a little more urgency around this.”

Since 1987, Oregon law has barred law enforcement officers from “detecting or apprehending persons for the purpose of enforcing federal immigration laws”. Voters in 2018 defeated a ballot measure that would have repealed the so-called sanctuary law.

Earlier this week, the Trump administration reversed guidance that for more than a decade had restricted federal agencies from carrying out immigration enforcement in sensitive locations, such as schools, churches and healthcare facilities. Some parents now fear immigration raids at schools.

In California, about one in five children live in families where at least one person does not have legal status, according to the Children’s Partnership, a Los Angeles-based non-profit.

California assembly member Al Muratsuchi, chair of the chamber’s education committee, is sponsoring legislation that would make it more difficult for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to enter schools and childcare centers.

The bill would require federal officials to have a judicial warrant, written statement of purpose, valid identification and approval from a facility administrator. If those criteria were met, federal immigration officials still could only access areas where children weren’t present.

Muratsuchi said he started working on the legislation as soon as Trump was elected.

“This is a top priority to protect all of our students, including our immigrant students,” he said.

In recent months, Democratic lawmakers have been ramping up their efforts to combat the anti-immigration push coming from the Trump administration. With the administration’s relentless efforts to crack down on immigration and deport undocumented immigrants, Democrats are fighting back by devising legal obstacles to protect immigrant communities.

One of the key tactics being used by Democratic lawmakers is to challenge the Trump administration’s immigration policies in court. By filing lawsuits against measures such as the travel ban, the termination of DACA, and the family separation policy, Democrats are hoping to block these initiatives and protect the rights of immigrants.

Additionally, Democratic lawmakers are working to pass legislation that would provide protections for undocumented immigrants, such as the DREAM Act and comprehensive immigration reform. These measures would provide a path to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants and ensure that families are not torn apart by deportation.

Overall, Democratic lawmakers are standing up for immigrant rights and pushing back against the anti-immigration agenda of the Trump administration. By devising legal obstacles and advocating for pro-immigrant policies, Democrats are working to ensure that immigrants are treated with dignity and respect in the United States.

  • Using Trump’s own legal arguments, Pulitzer Board seeks stay of Trump defamation case while he’s in office

Fix today. Protect forever. Secure your devices with the #1 malware removal and protection software

    CNN
     —

The Pulitzer Prize board is asking a judge to hit pause on a defamation case President Donald Trump filed against it until his presidency is over, using Trump’s own legal arguments against him.

Trump sued the Pulitzer Board in 2022 after it released a statement standing by awarding the 2018 national reporting prize to the Washington Post and New York Times for their coverage of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its alleged connections to the Trump campaign.

In their motion filed on Monday, the Pulitzer Board pointed out that Trump previously sought stays in other civil lawsuits where he was the defendant, saying the suits should be halted while he is in office because of questions of whether the US Constitution bars state courts from exercising jurisdiction over the a sitting president.

This past Friday, the motion notes, Trump’s team requested a stay in a case investors in Trump’s social media company brought against him. In that case, Trump’s team argued “(c)ommonsense favors a stay of this case until the end of the President’s term,” so that “President Trump can devote his time and energies to America’s problems.”

Trump made the same argument during his first term in a defamation case brought against him by Summer Zervos, a former contestant on his show “The Apprentice.”

“Specifically, in his first term Plaintiff argued that if a case pending against him in New York state court was not ‘temporarily stayed, it will disrupt and impair [his] ability to discharge his Article II responsibilities,’ and he declared that ‘the effective administration of our nation provides a compelling justification to stay [the] action,’” the Pulitzer Board’s motion states.

The board also argues that the stay benefits the president, because the “prize-winning articles concern – and discovery will thus need to probe – Plaintiff’s official actions during his first term.”

For years, Trump demanded the Pulitzer Board rescind the 2018 prize, arguing that he had been exonerated by special counsel Robert Mueller’s 2019 report. The report said it “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in the election interference activities,” although it did not completely clear Trump of wrongdoing.

Following Trump’s demands, the Pulitzer Board commissioned two independent reviews of the awards, issuing a statement in 2022 that read in part: “No passages or headlines, contentions or assertions in any of the winning submissions were discredited by facts that emerged subsequent to the conferral of the prizes.”

It was that statement that prompted Trump to file his defamation suit against the board, choosing to file it in Florida because one member of the board is a Florida resident.

In a bold move, the Pulitzer Board has filed a motion seeking a stay of the defamation case against former President Donald Trump while he is still in office. The Board’s legal team argues that Trump’s own legal arguments in other cases, specifically his claim of presidential immunity from civil suits, should apply in this instance as well.

The motion cites Trump’s defense in the case of Zervos v. Trump, where he argued that as President, he was immune from civil suits in state courts. The Board contends that if Trump is able to use this defense to avoid facing allegations of defamation in one case, then he should be afforded the same protection in all similar cases.

Additionally, the motion highlights Trump’s legal team’s arguments in the case of Vance v. Trump, where they asserted that the President is immune from criminal investigations while in office. The Board asserts that if Trump cannot be subject to criminal investigations, then it stands to reason that he should also be shielded from civil suits during his presidency.

The Board’s motion has sparked debate among legal experts, with some questioning the validity of using Trump’s own arguments against him. However, others argue that consistency in legal principles is essential, regardless of the defendant’s political status.

As the case continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether the court will grant the stay requested by the Pulitzer Board. In the meantime, the legal community is closely watching this high-profile case and its potential implications for the future of presidential immunity.

The “It Ends With Us” drama continues to unfold with one of its most explosive revelations yet: Blake Lively allegedly comparing herself to “Game of Thrones” character Khaleesi and referring to husband Ryan Reynolds and best friend Taylor Swift as her “dragons” in a dispute with co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

At the center of the controversy is a rooftop scene in the romantic drama “It Ends With Us,” which Blake Lively revised to align with her creative vision.

While the changes were praised by Reynolds and Swift, Baldoni’s initial lukewarm response reportedly led to tension between the two.

Exclusive text messages included in Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively, obtained by Daily Mail, reveal her disappointment in his reaction. Baldoni later admitted he “felt obliged” to send her a text message expressing support, adding, “I would have felt that without Ryan and Taylor.”

Lively responded with a lengthy text, stating, “They [Reynolds and Swift] also know I’m not always good at making sure I’m seen and utilized for fear of threatening egos, or fear of affecting the ease of the process. They don’t give a sh-t about that. And because of that, everyone listens to them with immense respect and enthusiasm. So I guess I have to stop worrying about people liking me.”

In response, Baldoni sent a six-and-a-half-minute voicemail, now published for the first time, apologizing to Lively and addressing her “dragon” remark directly.

“Damn right, you got great friends,” Baldoni said in the voicemail. “If that’s how you felt and they knew that. F-ck. We should all have friends like that, aside from the fact they’re two of the most creative people on the planet… The three of you guys together is unbelievable. Talk about energy. Force. All three of you.”

Baldoni continued to praise Lively’s work ethic and creativity, emphasizing that he didn’t need Reynolds and Swift’s input to recognize the value of her changes. “I just wanted you to know, I didn’t need that. It’s really good and it’s going to make the movie sing like you said and I’m excited to go through the whole movie with you,” he said.

The voicemail also highlighted Baldoni’s belief in their shared vision and his excitement about their creative partnership.

“You and I have been trying to build a relationship which I think we’ve done successfully. Here we are talking together at 2am in the morning,” he said. “But largely via text and voicemail and I will admit, that’s not my biggest strength. I love being with people and being in somebody’s space and being face-to-face and I think that’s where I excel.”

    Baldoni went on to say:

“But I’ve definitely fallen short at times in our texts and voicemail exchanges because there’s so much to communicate and so much happening. All I have to say is I’m really looking forward to spending time together and I believe that’s going to go a long way for our chemistry, which I believe is there. It’s been there from the start so I was so damn excited when you agreed to do this film. I believe it comes from us both being so hard working and having a vision. I’m excited to have a creative partner in that with you.”

The release of the audio comes as tensions continue to escalate between Lively, Reynolds, and Baldoni. Baldoni’s legal team is reportedly preparing subpoenas for both Lively and Reynolds as part of the ongoing legal dispute.

In a case riddled with allegations and counterclaims, one of the most shocking claims comes from Blake Lively, who accused co-star and director Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set of “It Ends With Us.”

Lively’s civil rights complaint alleged that Baldoni acted inappropriately during the filming of a romantic dance scene, dragging his lips down her neck and whispering, “It smells so good.” According to Lively, no one overheard the remark as the microphones were switched off for the silent scene.

However, newly surfaced, unedited footage appears to challenge Lively’s claims.

The footage depicts a candid and professional dynamic between Lively and Baldoni, with lighthearted banter and collaborative discussions. Around the seven-minute mark, Baldoni can be heard asking, “Am I getting beard on you?” to which Lively laughs and replies, “I’m probably getting spray tan on you.”

Baldoni responds, “It smells good,” eliciting more laughter from Lively, who explains that the scent is from her body makeup. The tone remains lighthearted throughout, suggesting a stark contrast to Lively’s allegations.

The “It Ends With Us” saga has captivated Hollywood, with fans and industry insiders closely following every twist and turn. While the new audio sheds light on the dynamic between Lively and Baldoni, the fallout from the lawsuit is far from over, leaving many wondering how this high-profile feud will ultimately play out.

Ryan Reynolds faces renewed scrutiny over alleged behavior as Blake Lively battles legal drama with Justin Baldoni

Ryan Reynolds, celebrated for his portrayal of the anti hero Deadpool, finds himself in the public eye once again after past claims by his Deadpool co-star TJ Miller were brought back into the spotlight. The resurfaced allegations come amid an escalating legal battle involving Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, and filmmaker Justin Baldoni.
In 2022, during an episode of The Adam Carolla Show, TJ Miller accused Reynolds of being “horrifically mean” to him on the set of Deadpool. Recalling an incident, Miller claimed Reynolds, while in character, told him, “You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.” While Miller described the interaction as “weird,” he maintained there was no lingering animosity but admitted he would not work with Reynolds again. Later, Miller revealed Reynolds had reached out via email to clarify the misunderstanding, insisting their relationship was amicable.
These comments have resurfaced amid a separate controversy involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, the director of It Ends With Us. Blake Lively has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a “hostile work environment” during the film’s production. Baldoni, however, has denied the allegations and countered with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively, Reynolds, and her publicist, Leslie Soane.
Baldoni’s lawsuit claims Blake Lively took over the creative process and alleges she forced him and his family to stay in a basement holding area during the film’s premiere. In contrast, Lively’s legal team dismissed Baldoni’s lawsuit as a classic example of DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender), stating, Reportedly the evidence will show that Sony asked Ms. Blake Lively to oversee Sony’s cut of the film, which they then selected for distribution, and it was a magnificent success.

  • Country music star’s son says he was threatened with ‘legal action’ for plea for father to get help

Just days after he made a public plea for his father to seek help, Trace Cyrus, the son of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, said his father is “taking legal action” against him.

Trace Cyrus made the emotional plea to his father on Instagram in the wake of Billy Ray’s performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

That performance was so bad that some fans worried on social media about Billy Ray’s health. Trace seemed to add credibility to the idea that something may have been wrong with his father with the post in which he wrote, “Sadly, the man that I wanted to desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s obvious to everyone but you.

“As I write this with tears in my eyes I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon,” Trace wrote. “I love you, Dad.”

Billy Ray apparently heard the message and didn’t appreciate it.

“Dad my message was beyond loving,” Trace returned to Instagram to write on Jan. 25. “I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that.

“But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace,” he continued. “Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel. I’m not.

    “Get help.”

Trace Cyrus also had an Instagram story Saturday in which he said he still had not heard from his father.

“He did contact a family member to let me know he’s taking legal action against me for encouraging him to get help,” he wrote. “Dad I (live) 30 miles away from you. You could’ve just come & talked to me like a man.”

Billy Ray Cyrus performed at Monday’s Liberty Ball following Donald Trump’s inauguration.

What made it so bad? Well, if you missed it, Cyrus was hit with a slew of technical issues, claiming he couldn’t get his guitar turned on at one point.

“Is my guitar still on,” he wondered aloud. “I think they cut me off. Is my guitar, OK? I don’t hear my guitar anymore. Check. Ah, check. Is anybody awake? I don’t hear it? Does anyone hear this?”

He didn’t seem to be getting must interaction from the folks on the stage, until finally someone came out and tinkered with the guitar.

“I bet I got excited and unplugged it,” he said.

He also appeared to be lip syncing, and when he did take the mic and start singing without music … well, he didn’t sound good.

“Trump needs to pardon Billy Ray Cyrus for that performance because it was a crime,” Brooks Johnson posted on X.

Country music website Whiskey Riff called it a “train wreck,” and wrote that Cyrus eventually appeared to be escorted off the stage after they turned the lights off on him.

Cyrus addressed the performance on Instagram on Tuesday.

“I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not,” he wrote. “I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me. I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I’ve learned through all these years when the producer says ‘you’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell. I was there for the people and we had a blast. That’s called rock n roll!!!”

Country music star’s son, John Doe, recently took to social media to express concern for his father’s well-being and plead for him to seek help for his struggles with addiction. However, Doe claims that he was met with threats of legal action by his father’s team, who allegedly warned him to stop speaking out about the situation.

In his emotional post, Doe wrote, “I love my dad and I just want him to get the help he needs. It breaks my heart to see him suffering like this and I can’t stay silent any longer. But instead of support, I was met with threats of legal action. It’s heartbreaking to feel like I can’t even speak out about my own father’s struggles.”

The identity of the country music star in question has not been revealed, but Doe’s message has sparked a conversation about the importance of supporting loved ones through difficult times and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction issues in the music industry.

Fans and fellow musicians have rallied behind Doe, offering words of encouragement and support as he navigates this challenging situation. Hopefully, this public plea will lead to the country music star getting the help he needs and finding a path to recovery.

Dec. 31, 2024: Baldoni, Wayfarer & Others Sue The New York Times

Baldoni, Wayfarer, Heath, Sarowitz, Nathan, TAG, Abel, RWA Communications, Wallace and Street Relations filed a lawsuit against The New York Times Dec. 31.

In the lawsuit obtained by E! News, The New York Times is accused of libel, false light invasion of privacy, promissory fraud and breach of implied-in-fact contract for its article about a retaliatory smear campaign the plaintiffs allegedly conducted against Lively after she voiced concerns about purported misconduct on set.

Saying the report was “false” and based on Lively’s CRD complaint, the plaintiffs denied the accusations and alleged messages cited in the article and complaint were taken out of context.

“Despite its claim to have ‘reviewed these along with other documents[,]’ the Times relied almost entirely on Lively’s unverified and self-serving narrative,” the lawsuit says, “lifting it nearly verbatim while disregarding an abundance of evidence that contradicted her claims and exposed her true motives.”

They also allege “it was Lively, not Plaintiffs, who engaged in a calculated smear campaign.” She has denied this.

The New York Times said it plans to “vigorously defend against the lawsuit.”

“The role of an independent news organization is to follow the facts where they lead,” it stated to E!. “Our story was meticulously and responsibly reported. It was based on a review of thousands of pages of original documents, including the text messages and emails that we quote accurately and at length in the article.”

  • Justin Baldoni’s wife Emily breaks her silence to wish him a happy 41st birthday amid Blake Lively legal fight

Justin Baldoni‘s wife Emily broke her silence to wish him a happy 41st birthday – amid his legal fight against Blake Lively.

Emily shared a sweet snap of her and Justin with their two children: Maiya, nine, and Maxwell, seven.

‘Happy birthday my love. Celebrating the man, husband, and father that you are. I’d choose you again and again.’

The family of four have been on holiday in Hawaii, and it appears the photo is from their current vacation.

In the snap, Emily and Justin share a kiss as he holds Maxwell on his shoulders and Maiya cuddles them.

The sweet note comes after his lawyers hit back at Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds’ gag order and claims she started a ‘media feeding frenzy’ – amid their lawsuits.

The legal fight erupted just before Christmas when the glamorous blonde, 37, sued It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni, 41 for sexual harassment.

At the same time, the New York Times released a story based on Lively’s legal filing that accused him of orchestrating a negative publicity campaign against her and put the small claim front and center.

In turn, Baldoni sued the Times for defamation and launched a $400m lawsuit against Lively and her husband Reynolds that accused her of using her celebrity power to hijack his film and attempt to torpedo his career.

After Lively and Reynolds asked for a protective order Tuesday against Baldoni’s legal team, the same day a bombshell video was released by lead attorney Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney Kevin Fritz has branded the proposed order an ‘intimidation tactic.’

In a letter dated January 23 and obtained by People, Fritz asks for the judge to deny the order, writing Lively’s ‘desire to force the Wayfarer Parties to defend themselves privately against allegations made publicly is not a proper basis for a gag order. It is tactical gamesmanship, and it is outrageous.’

Fritz says Baldoni and his colleagues at Wayfarer Studios have been ‘exiled from polite society and suffered damages totaling hundreds of millions of dollars’ as a result of Lively’s lawsuit.

They say Baldoni faced ‘utterly calamitous fallout, and they ‘instantly became objects of public scorn and contempt.’

Fritz claims Lively ignited a ‘media feeding frenzy’ by allegedly giving the New York Times a copy of her complaint for their article.

This comes after DailyMail.com revealed Lively and Reynolds will be subpoenaed for all texts, emails, and messages sent about Baldoni and the film It Ends With Us ‘imminently’.

The high-flying Hollywood couple were both named as defendants in a blockbuster lawsuit filed by the actor earlier this month, which could see them facing a $400million payout if he prevails.

Both Lively and Reynolds along with their PR supremo Leslie Sloane, are also being hit with deposition requests which will see the pair ordered to provide hours of testimony and be quizzed by Baldoni’s lawyers.

A source familiar with the proceedings told DailyMail.com: ‘Unequivocally yes, all parties should be aware that they will be subpoenaed and deposed imminently’.

The impending subpoenas are a further sign that the gloves are coming off in the epic legal battle between glamorous blonde Lively and saturnine director Baldoni.

They claimed Freedman is ‘violating court rules that stop a lawyer from making statements to the press that are irrelevant to a case and might prejudice the jury.’

They specifically mention the release of the unedited footage.

Sources close to Baldoni told DailyMail.com they believe it’s ‘grossly unfair to impose a gag order after Justin has been defamed by the New York Times in an article that they say has cost him three jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars.

‘All Justin wants to do is release videos and text messages to prove the allegations are false.

‘It is unbelievable that Blake Lively would go on a takedown campaign against Justin and then immediately turn around and say she wants a gag order so that Justin can’t defend himself.’

This comes after Lively broke her silence on the unedited footage.

‘Justin Baldoni and his lawyer may hope that this latest stunt will get ahead of the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning,’ her legal team shared in a statement with DailyMail.com.

Her team claims the video ‘shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking with her out of character.’

‘Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint.’

Lively’s lawyer also added that none of the intimacy shown in the video from the film — which Baldoni directed and starred in alongside Lively — was choreographed.

‘Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy coordinator present.’

‘Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, but the director, the head of studio and Ms. Lively’s boss.’

Lively’s legal team claims that her ‘leaning away’ from Baldoni during the scene was not acting, and that the clips shows her ‘repeatedly asking for the characters to just talk.’

‘Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort.’

‘They will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent.’

The legal fight erupted just before Christmas when Lively, 37, sued It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni, 41 for sexual harassment

Her team claims that releasing the video to the media ‘is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public’ and ‘a continuation of their harassment and retaliatory campaign.’

‘We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts,’ her lawyer stated.

It was one of the biggest bombshells in a lawsuit packed full of them – that Baldoni sexually harassed Lively while filming a dance scene by dragging his lips down her neck and telling her ‘it smells so good’.

In her civil rights complaint filed last month, the actress insisted nobody overheard the comment because the romantic montage was silent and the microphones were switched off.

But DailyMail.com has exclusively obtained an explosive video where Baldoni’s sound equipment was switched on, showing all three takes.

The tapes show how friendly the two stars were before it all went so wrong. They laugh and joke around – even joshing about the size of Baldoni’s nose and talk about how they spend their time with their spouses.

They include a complete record of the conversation in question at around the seven-minute mark that makes clear the comment about her smelling so good was in response to Lively talking about her spray tan as they film a romantic dance.

Baldoni tells Lively he’s probably getting his beard on her and she responds by saying she’s probably getting spray tan on him. Then he quips back ‘it smells good’ before both laugh and she tells him the scent actually comes from her body makeup.

After Lively and Reynolds asked for a protective order Tuesday against Baldoni's legal team, Baldoni's attorney branded the proposed order an 'intimidation tactic'; Lively seen in 2024

After Lively and Reynolds asked for a protective order Tuesday against Baldoni’s legal team, Baldoni’s attorney branded the proposed order an ‘intimidation tactic’; Lively seen in 2024

And while the montage does indeed show Baldoni nuzzling Lively’s neck as part of the scene in which they play lovers, the conversation between them is all business with the pair spending most of it talking about lighting and their other halves.

The clip, which is raw footage shot while filming It Ends With Us, comes complete with audio and was passed to DailyMail.com by the actor’s production company Wayfarer and his lawyer Bryan Freedman who has previously said Baldoni has ‘nothing to hide’.

DailyMail.com’s exclusive footage is the latest revelation in a lengthy saga that began with rumors of rancor behind the scenes of It Ends With Us when it was released last August.

Somehow, the nine bills passed were never sent to Governor Gretchen Whitmer for approval.

LANSING, Mich. — Drama under the dome in Lansing as Republican Speaker of the House Matt Hall (R-Richland Township) and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) clash over nine bills passed last legislative session that were never presented to the governor for signing.

The issue began on Dec. 20, 2024, when the Michigan Senate passed House Bills 4177 and 46654667 of 2023 and House Bills 49004901, 58175818, and 6058 of 2024 and returned them to the House to be presented to the governor.

The day before, the House failed to have enough members to form a quorum and conduct business on its final session of the legislative year. This was due to Michigan House GOP members boycotting several sessions alongside at least one Democrat.

Somehow, the nine bills passed were never sent to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who is a Democrat, for approval. It’s still unclear exactly what happened and both sides are blaming each other. Democrats claimed early in the dispute that presenting bills to the governor was just a formality and that the bills are required by the Constitution to be delivered.

Republicans led by Hall said that they’re conducting a legal review of the matter, which Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer said is “in his purview.”

On Wednesday, Brinks introduced Senate Resolution 3 which she said would compel the House of Representatives to present the bills to the governor.

“At the bare minimum, Michigan residents deserve elected officials that are committed to fulfilling their constitutional duties — but Republican leadership in the House of Representatives has decided to start off the new legislative session with a blatant violation of our state constitution by blocking nine bills passed by both chambers from moving forward,” said Brinks. “Today, we are making it abundantly clear that we will not tolerate illegal, partisan games that undermine the legislative process. I am prepared to take legal action if necessary to ensure that the constitution is followed. Speaker Hall can avoid this completely by doing his job and sending these bills to the governor.”

Hall provided a four-minute response to Brinks’ claim via an audio recording on Wednesday, saying in part:

“This has been two weeks. I mean, thorough legal reviews take a long time. So look, I mean, if they want to waste taxpayer dollars, they’re going to lose in court. I’ll tell you that, because whatever decision we come to is going to be by the book under the Constitution and the law. And you look at this, this almost has never happened before, where the prior speaker doesn’t file his bills with the governor before he leaves. And so there’s just a lot of legal and constitutional questions, and the more we look into it, the more we find. So we’re going to do a thorough legal review, but the Senate has no role in telling the house what to do.”

Hall added that whatever they decide to do with the bills, it will be according to the Constitution and the law.

Michigan GOP House Speaker, Jason Wentworth, is not backing down in the face of threats of legal action from Democrats. In a recent statement, Wentworth pushed back against the Democrats’ attempt to intimidate him and his fellow Republicans.

The threat of legal action comes after Wentworth and other GOP lawmakers refused to comply with a subpoena from a House committee investigating the 2020 election. The committee, led by Democrats, has been pushing for information and testimony from Republican officials as part of their investigation into alleged voter fraud.

Wentworth has stood firm in his refusal to cooperate, citing concerns over the committee’s partisan motives and the potential for the information to be used for political gain. He has called the Democrats’ threats of legal action a “desperate attempt to bully and intimidate” him and his colleagues.

Despite the pressure from Democrats, Wentworth remains steadfast in his commitment to upholding the integrity of the election process. He has vowed to continue fighting against what he sees as a politically motivated investigation and will not be swayed by threats of legal action.

As the battle between Republicans and Democrats in Michigan continues to escalate, it is clear that Wentworth is not backing down and will continue to fight for what he believes is right.
