NEW ORLEANS — The Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to make NFL history on Super Bowl Sunday. If they can beat the Philadelphia Eagles, that will make the Chiefs the first team in league history to win three Super Bowls in a row.
Although it’s an unprecedented team feat, the three-peat has actually been accomplished before by a player. That’s right: Since the first Super Bowl was played in January 1967, there has been exactly ONE player who has managed to win three Super Bowls in a row, and that player is Ken Norton Jr.
The former NFL linebacker played in the NFL for 13 years and during the early 1990s, Norton had the wildest postseason run in league history. Here’s a look at how he did:
1992:Cowboys beat Bills in Super Bowl XXVII 1993: Cowboys beat Bills in Super Bowl XXVIII 1994:49ers beat Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX
Norton started his career in Dallas after the Cowboys selected him as a second-round pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. Although the Cowboys were terrible during his first two seasons with the team, Jimmy Johnson quickly got them turned around and they were in the Super Bowl by 1992. Not only did they trounce the Bills 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII, but they returned the next year and beat up on Buffalo again in a 30-13 win.
Prisco’s 2025 Super Bowl pick: In Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs we trust; QB leads game-winning drive vs. Eagles
Pete Prisco
After the 1993 season, Norton moved on to San Francisco and he was right back in the big game while playing for a 49ers team that destroyed the Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX. That’s three Super Bowl wins by an average 25 points per game, which is about as dominant as it gets.
Norton’s unbelievable run ended in 1995 when the 49ers got knocked out of the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers in a 27-17 divisional-round loss. Norton ended up playing in the NFL until retiring in 2000.
He actually ended up winning another Super Bowl ring as a member of Seattle’s coaching staff after the Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII with a dominant 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos. Th 58-year-old Norton also won a national championship as an assistant coach at USC in 2004.
If he’s going to add another Super Bowl ring to his résumé anytime soon, it’s going to come in Washington where Norton is currently the linebackers coach for the Commanders.
If the Chiefs win on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and 27 other players will join Norton on the list of people who have pulled off a three-peat.
One player who deserves honorable mention in the three-peat department is Russ Hochstein. The former NFL offensive lineman played for the Buccaneers in 2002, but got cut in October, just three months before Tampa Bay would go on to win the Super Bowl. He then ended up with the Patriots and won a ring in both 2003 and 2004, so he played for three Super Bowl-winning teams in a row, but he wasn’t around for the Bucs’ win over the Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, so he only got two rings in that span.
In the history of the NFL, only one player has achieved the remarkable feat of winning three consecutive Super Bowls. That player is none other than Charles Haley, who accomplished this incredible feat with the San Francisco 49ers in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Now, the Kansas City Chiefs are aiming to match this legendary achievement as they head into the upcoming season with their sights set on a third consecutive Super Bowl victory. Led by superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and a talented roster, the Chiefs have the potential to etch their names in the history books alongside Charles Haley.
With the new season on the horizon, all eyes will be on the Chiefs as they strive to make history and solidify their place among the greatest teams in NFL history. Will they be able to pull off the elusive Super Bowl three-peat and join the ranks of legends like Charles Haley? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – the Chiefs are determined to leave their mark on the NFL record books.
When then-Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen dropped out of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach search to take an extension to remain in Tampa Bay, there was one word to describe the reaction from those outside of the building: panic.
It was well-known throughout the process that Coen was one of the leaders for the Jaguars’ job. After Ben Johnson opted to take the Bears job, Coen became the clear favorite. So when it appeared he would be turning down the job, there was a general sense of dispair.
And while the whirlwind 48 hours proved to be dramatic in terms of how it played out in the media, one key member of the franchise weighed in on what the situation was actually like behind the scenes.
“I don’t think there was nervousness or like, sometimes what is viewed from the outside is chaos, and what’s going on isn’t always what’s happening behind the scenes,” Jaguars Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Boselli said at a fan event at EverBank Stadium.
Boselli is set to take a front office role with the team and was reportedly very involved in the search for a new head coach, especially as the team advanced past the first stage of interviews. And to Boselli, this situation was far from the chaotic one that many perceived it as.
“And I think the one thing I saw and experienced, and I’ve seen it throughout my time since Shad has been the owner. Sometimes very close, sometimes from a distance. He does a great job of really managing the situation,” Boselli said.
“There’s a reason he’s been as successful as he has in life. He was very clear, very concise of how we were going to do this and what the plan to move forward was. And I really enjoyed the opportunity, the fact that he trusted me enough to be a part of that process. But I think sometimes the perception from the outside doesn’t always line up with what is actually happening within.”

Jaguars’ Legend Tony Boselli Weighs In On Process to Land Liam Coen
Former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle and current Hall of Fame finalist Tony Boselli recently shared his thoughts on the team’s process to potentially land Liam Coen as their new offensive coordinator.
Boselli, who is known for his football knowledge and expertise, believes that Coen would be a great fit for the Jaguars due to his innovative offensive schemes and ability to develop young quarterbacks. Coen, who is currently the offensive coordinator at the University of Kentucky, has garnered attention for his success in revitalizing the Wildcats’ offense.
Boselli emphasized the importance of finding the right coach to lead the Jaguars’ offense and help quarterback Trevor Lawrence reach his full potential. He believes that Coen’s experience and track record make him a strong candidate for the position.
As the Jaguars continue their search for a new offensive coordinator, Boselli’s insights and endorsement of Coen could play a significant role in the team’s decision-making process. Stay tuned for updates on the Jaguars’ coaching staff and potential hiring of Liam Coen.

After a little more than seven years of ownership, Dwight Howard is officially bouncing out of his Georgia estate. The eight-time NBA All-Star and former Los Angeles Lakers center—he’s currently pushing for a return stint with the West Coast team—has just hoisted his European-style residence tucked away in the suburban community of Suwanee, some 35 miles northeast of Atlanta, on the market for a dash under $11.3 million. Kelly Anderson of Engel & Volkers Atlanta holds the listing.
Built over five years for a reported $40 million and completed in 2010, the property was initially listed in early 2014 for $15 million. The place subsequently underwent several price chops before eventually selling in 2016 to the then-Atlanta Hawks player at a discounted $8.8 million, according to Atlanta Business Chronicle, which first reported the listing.
Howard’s skylight-topped snake room was custom-built by a team from Animal Planet’s “Tanked” show.
Secluded behind two gated entrances amid a 14-acre parcel, the stately red brick structure is fronted by an oval cobblestone driveway that wraps around a fountain-laced lawn. Inside, 10 bedrooms and a whopping 21 baths are sprawled across a little more than 32,400 square feet of living space. Glitzy amenities include an elevator that travels to all three levels, an entire room dedicated to housing exotic snakes, multiple kitchens, a game room, a movie theater, a bath with a steam shower and barber area, a gym, a bevy of guest apartments, and a garage complex that can accommodate up to 10 vehicles.
Introducing the home is a foyer displaying a sweeping central staircase topped by a designer chandelier, with rich hardwood floors flowing to formal living and dining rooms. Other highlights include a main kitchen outfitted with a large scullery, a walk-in pantry flaunting an automated shelving system, Sub-Zero and Viking appliances, and a separate breakfast room. Another full kitchen nearby opens onto a covered porch that sports an outdoor kitchen.
The purple-hued primary bedroom has an elaborate fireplace and a covered balcony.

The swanky main-floor primary suite comes with its own fireplace, covered balcony, and dual walk-in closets and baths, while the upper level holds additional ensuite bedrooms, entertainment spaces, and yet another kitchen. There’s also an attic space lined with custom cabinetry.
As for the resort-like grounds, expect a heated saltwater pool flanked by a brick-clad seating area hosting a massive stone fireplace and a kitchen-equipped pool house that’s currently being used as a gym, plus a half-court basketball setup, extensive gardens, and a private lake for fishing and paddle boating.
The large saltwater pool sits next to a pool house that’s been converted into a gym.
Currently a free agent, Howard was originally drafted first overall in 2004 by the Orlando Magic, where he led the team to the 2009 NBA finals. The 39-year-old Atlanta native went on to play for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2012, spending three separate one-year stints with the team and winning the NBA Finals in 2020. He’s also been with the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, and most recently, the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan.

Payton hasn’t played in an NBA game since retiring after the 2006-07 season, but he was trading barbs in an NBA arena once again on Friday night. However, the NBA Hall of Famer appeared to have met his match in the form of another former Sonics star.
Payton engaged in a playful exchange with Kevin Durant while Durant’s Phoenix Suns played against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center in San Francisco, near Payton’s hometown of Oakland. The clip of the back and forth has made its rounds on social media since.
“By the time you was my age you was the 8th man on the bench.”
“You up here, I’m at the ceiling,” Durant said as he pointed up to the sky.
“I’m on the roof,” Payton responded.
Then, Durant hit Payton with a hilarious line.
“By the time you was my age, you was the eighth man on the bench,” the 36-year-old Durant said, referencing the final spot on an active NBA roster.
Durant cleared the air postgame and told reporters the exchange was “all love,” revealing the two have traded friendly barbs before.
“G’s a great sport about it – one of my favorite players, somebody I look up to, got major respect for,” Durant said. “I think we started in the summer with Team USA. We were all in the same room with Team USA, and the first thing I said to him was that he couldn’t guard me. ‘You’re too small. Them dudes that played back in the day wasn’t close to me.’ I was just talking crazy to him, so I guess we picked it up from there.”
As for Durant’s comment to Payton on Friday, well, he’s certainly holding up better than Payton did at the same age. But The Glove was still a full-time starter for the Boston Celtics at 36. The nine-time All-Star averaged 11.3 points, 6.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game that season. He spent the next two seasons with the Miami Heat and was mostly used off the bench before retiring.
Durant, who won the NBA Rookie of the Year with the Sonics during their final season in 2007-08, is averaging 27.1 points, 6.2 rebound and 4.2 assists per game this season. He’ll be competing in his 15th All-Star game Feb. 16.
In a recent game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Durant found himself in a heated courtside exchange with Seattle Sonics legend Gary Payton. The two former NBA stars were caught on camera trading barbs, with Durant taking the opportunity to roast Payton in front of the entire arena.
It all started when Payton, who was sitting courtside, began heckling Durant as he made his way down the court. Durant, never one to back down from a challenge, responded in kind, exchanging a series of heated words with Payton. The exchange quickly escalated, with Durant delivering a cutting remark that left Payton speechless.
“Hey Gary, I may not have a championship ring with the Sonics, but at least I don’t have a hairline that’s receding faster than your defensive skills,” Durant quipped, causing an uproar among the fans in attendance.
Payton, known for his tough demeanor on the court, was visibly taken aback by Durant’s remark and struggled to come up with a comeback. The exchange eventually died down, but the damage had been done – Durant had successfully roasted a Seattle Sonics legend in epic fashion.
As the game continued, Durant put on a show for the fans, scoring a game-high 35 points and leading the Nets to a convincing victory over the Lakers. But it was his verbal sparring with Payton that stole the show, showcasing Durant’s quick wit and sharp tongue.
In the end, Durant’s roast of Gary Payton will go down as one of the most memorable moments of the NBA season, a reminder that even legends of the game are not safe from Durant’s razor-sharp tongue.
In the short-term, the Jimmy Butler saga hurts him, the Miami Heat, and the NBA at large.
In the long-term, Hall of Fame big man Kevin Garnett fears the ongoing drama could have an irreversible impact on other players.
Garnett passionately blasted Butler on his podcast, ripping the six-time All-Star for his recent conduct. The legendary forward said Butler’s behavior could convince teams to eventually forego giving guaranteed contracts.
“Non-guarantees are gonna come into our league, right here, for s–t like this,” Garnett declared.
Butler signed a three-year extension worth $146.4 million in 2021. His feud with the Heat stems partly from the two sides failing to reach another extension last summer.
“We f—- fought our ass through five or six g–damn lockouts to get to a point where … we protect the integrity of the talent,” Garnett said.
“And then that talent has a responsibility to come in and be professional and do your f—- job,” he continued.
Garnett explained he and co-host Paul Pierce played despite disliking ownership or management. The Heat suspended Butler three times in January alone for misconduct, including missing a team flight and walking out of practice.
Rather than act out, Garnett feels Butler should have shown up and done his job. Garnett cited former All-Star John Wall, who sat out the 2021-22 season with the Houston Rockets, as the team prioritized developing younger guards.
The Rockets reportedly paid Wall roughly $41 million following a buyout.
In fairness to Butler, Garnett argued Heat president Pat Riley isn’t innocent. Riley publicly called out Butler’s durability last spring.
“Both sides could’ve actually squashed all of this,” Garnett said, “but this is a message.
“This is a message not only to the league but this is a message between upstairs and the power of players.”
COULD BUTLER JOIN WEST STARS?
If the Heat do move Butler, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania has a good idea where the six-time All-Star will end up.
“The Suns and Warriors are shaping up … to being the two likeliest landing spots for Jimmy Butler in a trade,” Charania reported Friday night.
Charania added other teams are in the mix but Golden State and Phoenix remain the favorites.
Both teams have been linked to Butler for nearly two months. Butler does not have a no-trade clause and has not publicly demanded joining a specific team.
Charania said the two Western Conference teams are being aggressive ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline. Both organizations are potentially nearing the end of championship windows, with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry seeking one more title.
Charania added the Heat have remained in constant communication with both teams.
“The Warriors’ front office has been acting very opportunistically ahead of the deadline next week,” Charania said.
KINGS OUT ON BUTLER
Butler can cross Sacramento off his list of possible places he’ll finish the season.
NBA insider Sam Amick reported Thursday the Kings are not pursuing Butler ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Sacramento is currently weighing whether to trade All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox within the next week.
The 24-23 Kings are competing for a Play-In spot. Whatever the Kings do, Amick said, will not involve the disgruntled Butler.
“They do not see Jimmy Butler as the answer,” Amick wrote.

NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Suggests Jimmy Butler Drama Could Change Contracts Forever
In a recent interview, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal weighed in on the ongoing drama surrounding Jimmy Butler’s trade request from the Minnesota Timberwolves. O’Neal suggested that Butler’s bold move to demand a trade and potentially disrupt team chemistry could have a lasting impact on player contracts in the league.
O’Neal pointed out that in the past, players were often hesitant to rock the boat and demand trades for fear of being labeled as difficult or disruptive. However, Butler’s actions have shown that players are increasingly willing to take matters into their own hands and push for trades to situations that better suit their needs.
The NBA legend predicted that Butler’s drama could set a precedent for future contract negotiations, with players becoming more assertive in shaping their own destinies and seeking out situations that align with their personal goals and aspirations.
As the NBA landscape continues to evolve and players gain more power and agency in shaping their careers, it will be interesting to see how Butler’s situation plays out and whether it will indeed have a lasting impact on player contracts in the league.

Logan Paul was a controversial and divisive figure long before he stepped inside a WWE ring and his career inside the squared circle has done little to change that.
Despite his antics rubbing many fans the wrong way, he’s consistently earned praise for his impressive feats in the ring. So naturally, whenever he shows up, all eyes are on the star wondering what might come next.
When Paul made his latest return to Raw on January 27th, he announced that the next challenge would be the Royal Rumble on February 1st. So that raises the question, could he really go on and become World Champion?
According to one former WWE Champion, the answer is a resounding yes.
Kurt Angle Respects “Talented” Logan Paul
During an interview with GreatOffshoreSportsbooks, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle said he could see Paul going on to become World Champion. Angle noted that the YouTube star has been able to pick up pro wrestling quicker than anyone in history, including himself, who is often cited as the benchmark.
“Yes. Yeah, That kid is incredibly talented. I’m a big fan of his. I’ll be honest with you. When he was a boxer, I hated his guts. But I get it now. I know what he was doing. He wanted me to hate him. But I love this kid. This kid is so talented. He has picked up on the business quicker than anybody in the history of the business, including myself.
I have a lot of respect for that kid. It’s amazing how he’s been able to pick up on everything that he’s accomplished, you know as a fighter, as a boxer, as a pro wrestler, as a businessman, this guy is nothing but gold and I have a lot of respect for him and I’m a big fan.”
Paul has actually challenged for World Championship gold before, having faced Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2022.
Logan Paul may be best known for his YouTube antics and controversial behavior, but according to WWE legend Triple H, he has the potential to become a world champion in the world of professional wrestling.
In a recent interview with TJR Wrestling, Triple H praised Paul’s athleticism and dedication to his craft, stating that he believes the social media star has what it takes to succeed in the squared circle.
“Logan Paul is a natural athlete and he has a real passion for the wrestling business,” Triple H said. “I think with the right training and dedication, he could definitely make a name for himself in WWE and even become a world champion someday.”
While Paul has already made a few appearances in WWE, including a match at WrestleMania 37, Triple H believes that he has only scratched the surface of his potential in the company.
“Logan has a lot to learn, but he has a great work ethic and a willingness to improve,” Triple H added. “I have no doubt that if he continues to put in the work, he could one day hold the WWE Championship or Universal Championship.”
Only time will tell if Logan Paul will follow in the footsteps of other celebrities turned wrestlers like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena, but with the endorsement of a WWE legend like Triple H, the future looks bright for the controversial social media star.

Some professional wrestlers will try and wrestle well into the years when they should be thinking about pensions rather than wrestling moves, but not Kurt Angle, as he retired from in-ring action in 2019 at the age of 50.
Angle had a decorated 21-year career, but what led him to hang up the boots for good was his desire to be remembered fondly by the fans, as he explained during an appearance on “Story Time with Dutch Mantell.”
“[WWE] wouldn’t even have me wrestle, they wouldn’t let me wrestle, I think they thought of me as a liability,” Angle said.
He explained that he thought his run was booked backward as he thought he would wrestle, then become a general manager, and finish in the Hall of Fame, which ended up happening the opposite way around.
“They didn’t have any plans to put a title on me, nothing, and I was wrestling extremely well when I got there, but when I got there and I became the GM for nine months, I was inactive for a whole nine months, never got in the ring. When I eventually got in the ring, I wasn’t the same person, I felt like that I look like an old man wrestling in the ring, that’s how bad it was, and that’s why I retired early, because I didn’t want the fans to remember me as this broken down old man,” revealed the Olympic gold medallist.
Angle also believes that the reason he was booked the way he was in WWE during his final run was due to how he originally left the company in 2006. He stated that when someone leaves a company like WWE in the way that he did, the company, and more specifically Vince McMahon, won’t forget that in a hurry.

After years of dominating the wrestling world in both WWE and TNA, Kurt Angle shocked fans by announcing his decision to retire early from the sport. Many were left wondering why the Olympic gold medalist would hang up his boots so soon. In a recent interview, Angle opened up about his decision and explained his reasons for retiring.
The 52-year-old wrestling legend revealed that his body simply couldn’t keep up with the demands of the sport anymore. Years of hard-hitting matches and intense training had taken a toll on his body, leading to a number of injuries that were starting to affect his quality of life. Angle admitted that he was no longer able to perform at the level that he wanted to, and felt that it was time to step away from the ring before things got worse.
Despite his decision to retire, Angle expressed his gratitude for the opportunities that wrestling had given him and the amazing memories he had created throughout his career. He also reassured fans that he would still be involved in the wrestling world in some capacity, whether it be through coaching or mentoring younger talent.
While fans may be disappointed to see Angle retire, it’s clear that he made the decision with his long-term health and well-being in mind. As one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Kurt Angle will always be remembered for his incredible skills, dedication, and passion for the sport.

It’s also not yet apparent what his appearance would entail, with the report’s sources emphasizing that they didn’t know if he was asked to wrestle in the Royal Rumble itself or if WWE wanted to bring him in for a different segment. Since the end of his in-ring career, Angle has made numerous appearances for WWE, most recently during the 30th anniversary celebration for “Raw” in 2023.
Angle was already scheduled to be in Indianapolis this weekend, as the WrestleCon convention is set to take place there, bringing a long list of current and former wrestlers to the city. In addition to Angle, former WWE stars Matt Cardona, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, and many more will be in attendance.

The Olympic gold medalist stated that while he won’t be stepping back into the ring to compete, he is looking forward to potentially making an appearance during the Royal Rumble match itself or taking part in one of the other festivities surrounding the event.
