UPDATED: Novak Djokovic skipped an on-court interview with Channel Nine after his win at the Australian Open on Sunday night because he was aggrieved by comments made by the host broadcaster’s sports anchor Tony Jones he deemed to be “insulting and offensive”.

The 10-times Australian Open champion chose not to speak on court to Jim Courier after booking his spot in the quarter-finals.

“A couple of days ago a famous sports journalist who works for official broadcaster Channel Nine here in Australia made a mockery of Serbian fans, and also made insulting and offensive comments towards me,” Djokovic said.

“Since then he chose not to issue an official public apology. Neither did Channel Nine.”

Djokovic told media he would continue his boycott until he gets an apology.

His action stemmed from footage of presenter Jones doing a cross from Melbourne Park with flag-waving supporters in the background.

The footage has been circulating widely on social media.

In it, Jones references the Serbians fans, but also makes several references about Djokovic, including “Novak, kick him out” – in reference to the former world No.1’s deportation from Australia three years ago.

“The Novak Djokovic fans there in full voice,” Jones says in the video.

    “The chants are quite extraordinary.”

He then chants the following: “Novak, he’s overrated. “Novak’s a has-been … Novak, kick him out.

“Boy, I’m glad they can’t hear me.”

Djokovic insisted that his complaint was only about the behaviour of Jones.

“I have nothing against Jim Courier, neither the Australian public. And it was a very awkward situation for me to face the court today,” he said.

Tony Jones has also been contacted for comment.

  • Australian Open 2025 results: Novak Djokovic beats Jiri Lehecka to set up quarter-final with Carlos Alcaraz

Novak Djokovic set up a mouth-watering Australian Open quarter-final against Carlos Alcaraz with a convincing victory over Jiri Lehecka.

Djokovic continued his bid for a record 25th Grand Slam title with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7-4) win against the Czech 24th seed.

He will face Alcaraz in the last eight after the Spaniard progressed when British number one Jack Draper retired with a hip injury earlier on Sunday.

Alcaraz has beaten Djokovic in the past two Wimbledon finals, but the Serb got the better of the 21-year-old to win gold at the Paris Olympics last summer – Djokovic’s self-proclaimed “biggest sporting achievement”.

Djokovic was booed by the crowd as Lehecka threatened to force a fourth set, and the 11-time Australian Open champion was quick to leave Rod Laver Arena after his victory.

“Thank you very much for being here tonight. I appreciate your support and I will see you in the next round,” the 37-year-old said.

Speaking in a news conference afterwards, Djokovic clarified his reasons for swerving the usual on-court interview with four-time major winner Jim Courier.

He referred to the actions of Channel Nine newsreader Tony Jones, who shouted “Novak, he’s overrated, Novak’s a has-been, Novak kick him out” towards Djokovic fans while live on camera on Friday.

“A couple days ago the famous sports journalist who works for official broadcaster Channel Nine here in Australia made a mockery of Serbian fans and also made insulting and offensive comments towards me,” Djokovic said.

“So since they’re official broadcasters, I chose not to give interviews for Channel Nine. I have nothing against Jim Courier or the Australian public.

“It was a very awkward situation for me.”

In a thrilling match at the Australian Open 2025, Novak Djokovic defeated Jiri Lehecka to advance to the quarter-finals. The world No. 1 showed his class and experience as he overcame the young Czech player in a hard-fought battle.

Djokovic’s victory sets up an exciting quarter-final clash with the rising star Carlos Alcaraz. The 18-year-old Spaniard has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, and will undoubtedly provide a tough challenge for the Serbian champion.

Fans can expect an intense and high-quality match when Djokovic and Alcaraz face off in the next round. Both players will be looking to secure their spot in the semi-finals and continue their quest for the Australian Open title.

  • Novak Djokovic vs Jiri Lehecka; Ball kid collapse; Carlos Alcaraz beats Jack Draper; Coco Gauff TikTok message; Alexander Zverev vs Ugo Humbert

Carlos Alcaraz reached his 10th career grand slam quarter-final, tied for the most by a man before his 22nd birthday, by advancing at the Australian Open when 15th seeded Jack Draper stopped playing because of injury after dropping the first two sets on Sunday.

No.3 seed Alcaraz was ahead 7-5, 6-1 when Draper decided he couldn’t continue.

He’d been dealing with physical issues after winning each of his first three matches at Melbourne Park in five sets.

“It’s not the way I want to win a match, to get through to the next round,” Alcaraz said.

“Happy to play another quarter-final here in Australia, but a little bit sad for Jack.”

The two of them were supposed to spend a week training together in the offseason, but Draper had to turn that chance down because of an injury.

Alcaraz next will meet either 10 time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic or No. 24 Jiri Lehecka who are playing later tonight.

“I’m going to watch that, for sure. Where? I don’t know. I have to recover now. My mind is (on) recovering as good as I can with my team,” Alcaraz said.

Sunday’s victory was Alcaraz’s first against a top 20 opponent at the Australian Open, which he is trying to win for the first time to complete a career grand slam.

He already has two titles from Wimbledon – by defeating Djokovic in the 2023 and 2024 finals – plus one apiece from the US Open and French Open.

Still just 21, Alcaraz pulled even with Bjorn Borg, Boris Becker and Mats Wilander for the highest number of major quarter-final appearances by that age.

Alcaraz’s best run at Melbourne Park was getting to the quarter-finals last year before losing at that stage to Alexander Zverev.

“I’m just happy with the level that I’m playing,” Alcaraz said.

“On the court, off the court, I’m feeling really comfortable here in Australia.”

What a day at the Miami Open! Novak Djokovic faced off against Jiri Lehecka in a thrilling match that had everyone on the edge of their seats. However, the match was briefly interrupted when a ball kid collapsed on court, causing concern among players and spectators. Thankfully, the ball kid received medical attention and is said to be recovering well.

In another exciting match, rising star Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jack Draper in a hard-fought battle, showcasing his talent and determination on the court. Alcaraz continues to impress with his impressive performances and is definitely one to watch in the future.

Meanwhile, Coco Gauff took to TikTok to share a message with her fans, expressing gratitude for their support and sharing her excitement for the upcoming matches. Gauff’s engaging presence on social media continues to endear her to fans around the world.

Lastly, Alexander Zverev faced off against Ugo Humbert in a highly anticipated match that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Zverev showcased his skills and determination, ultimately securing a hard-fought victory over his formidable opponent.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Miami Open as the competition heats up and the world’s top players battle it out on the court.

Why Lehecka believes he can beat Djokovic at Australian Open

Jiri Lehecka missed nearly four months during the 2024 season due to a stress fracture in his vertebra. Five months after his return, the Czech will step into one of the biggest moments of his career when he faces 10-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic on Sunday in the fourth round at Melbourne Park.

One year ago, they met for the first time in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series at the United Cup, where Djokovic won in three sets. For Lehecka, there were clear takeaways from the experience.

“That he is just a normal person, he’s not a god,” Lehecka said. “That a guy like him can also do a lot of mistakes but, at the same time, is a very experienced player who knows perfectly when to play what. He will use every chance he has to beat you so it will be a super tough match, but you never know what’s going to happen.”

It has been a dominant start to the season for the No. 29 player in the PIF ATP Rankings. Lehecka claimed the second ATP Tour title of his career in Brisbane and is now 8-0 in singles in the 2025 season following his relatively smooth path to the fourth round of the Australian Open.

The Czech knows the difficulty of taking on a player of Djokovic’s calibre. But he is keen to focus on himself when he takes the court against the 24-time major champion.

“I already trust in my game and in the way we worked in the past two, three weeks here in Australia,” Lehecka said. “I’m very confident about the fact that if I’m going to show my best tennis, why shouldn’t I beat him?”

    It All Adds Up

That sentiment will not surprise Djokovic, who stated in his Friday-evening press conference that he expected that.

“Lehecka is one of the fittest guys on the Tour, and I think his serve is underestimated. [It is] a big weapon. Wins a lot of free points in the first serve,” Djokovic said. “The more matches you win, the more confident you are, so I’m sure this kind of matchup comes at the right time for him. I’m sure he feels that he can beat me.”

Defeating Djokovic at the Australian Open has been one of the toughest tests in all of tennis over the past two decades. Since debuting at the season’s first major in 2005, the 37-year-old has tallied a 97-9 record. He has not failed to make the semi-finals here since 2018. But Lehecka is focused on his own game.

“I just try to focus on my game mostly and If it’s a dead guy or another guy on the other side, the only thing [that] is changing for me is the size of the arena we are playing in,” Lehecka said. “For me the most important thing is just to be focusing on myself and on the things that I do. I think that in the last couple of weeks in the last matches I was able to manage it. Of course, it will be a big, big challenge, but we will see what’s going to happen.”

Australia has been a happy hunting ground for Lehecka. Entering the 2023 Australian Open, he had never won a main draw match at a major, but surged to the quarter-finals. The 6’1” right-hander then claimed his maiden tour-level crown last year in Adelaide.

“I think the conditions suit me well. I feel good here on this surface, with these balls. It’s just something which helps me move my game to the spot where I want it to be and it’s super important for me,” Lehecka said. “I also like the country, I like the people, I like the environment in which we play. So this is super nice. I’m very happy with that. I try to push it further and further every year.”

The Czech explained that the ball bounces are “a bit higher” in Australia, which helps him play more aggressively and assists his serve and return.

Lehecka also enjoys life off the court at the home of the Happy Slam. Ahead of the tournament, he joined his team on a tram ride to St. Kilda Beach.

“We just wanted to have one day off. We just wanted to see something else than a hotel or tennis courts so for us it was very important to ease the mind a bit, to have good food somewhere else than in the tournament restaurant or at the hotel,” Lehecka told ATPTour.com. “It was a very nice afternoon at the beach and I think it helped me also to refresh my mind a bit and to look forward more to what is going to come here at the Australian Open.”

It was not that long ago that Lehecka spent more than two months without touching a racquet. Now he has a chance to play a generational athlete on a global stage.

“I must admit that I never doubted that it would come. I knew what kind of work we put in every day with the team to come back and to play again on the highest level,” Lehecka said. “So I was very confident about the way I was about to be playing in the next couple of months because I just simply knew that I worked pretty hard to get back on track.

“Of course right now, for me, it sounds amazing to play the next match against Novak, in the fourth round. But at the same time, this is one of the matches [that] shows me that the hard work pays off and hopefully I can go even further.”

Jiri Lehecka, a rising star in the tennis world, is confident in his abilities to take on the world’s top players, including Novak Djokovic. The 19-year-old Czech player has been making waves on the ATP Tour with his impressive performances and has his sights set on a deep run at the Australian Open.

In a recent interview, Lehecka expressed his belief that he has what it takes to defeat Djokovic on the court. He cited his strong serve, powerful groundstrokes, and relentless determination as key factors that give him an edge over his opponents.

Lehecka’s confidence is not unfounded, as he has already proven himself against top-ranked players in the past. With his aggressive playing style and fearless attitude, he is poised to make a statement at the upcoming Grand Slam event.

While Djokovic may be a formidable opponent, Lehecka is not backing down. He is ready to showcase his skills and challenge the reigning champion for a chance at victory. Tennis fans will surely be keeping a close eye on this exciting matchup as Lehecka looks to make a name for himself on the biggest stage in the sport.

  • Australian Open Day 8 Men’s Predictions including Djokovic vs Lehecka

It promises to be an entertaining eighth day at the Australian Open with plenty of star power on display. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including all the action from the women’s singles, but who will book their spot in the last eight at Melbourne Park?

    Australian Open Day 8 Predictions

    Novak Djokovic vs Jiri Lehecka

Jim: Novak Djokovic looked slightly below his best in the opening two rounds, but was much sharper in the last 32 where he dismantled Tomas Machac in straight-sets. Jiri Lehecka is a better player than his countryman Machac and had an impressive first week at the Australian Open. But has he shown enough to beat Djokovic on the Serb’s favourite court? Probably not.

    Prediction: Djokovic in 4

Damian: My thoughts pre-event were to side with Lehecka here after Djokovic will likely be a little softened by a tough battle against Opelka or Machac. But considering what I saw in the previous round, I have to switch it up. Djokovic will still have a hard time winning this event with the challenges that lie ahead, but clearly he’s got at least one extra gear and it’s not even a particularly good matchup for Lehecka. He’d have to redline throughout.

    Prediction: Djokovic in 4

Ateet: Djokovic was at his best in the third round, defeating the dangerous Machac in straight sets. That performance will help him get ready for even tougher challenges that are coming up. Jiri Lehecka is a devastating player and can rush anyone with his power, but to beat Djokovic, he will have to be extremely consistent. I can see him getting a set but not anymore if Djokovic shows up again.

    Prediction: Djokovic in 4

Tommy Paul vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

Jim: Long rallies may well be the order of the day here. Both are excellent athletes, but whilst they have weapons, not the sort of players likely to blast an opponent off the court. One suspects that court craft will come into play as a result. Ultimately, however, Tommy Paul is simply the better and more consistent player. It might well be close, but the American should have the edge.

    Prediction: Paul in 5

Damian: Davidovich Fokina just pulled off two consecutive comebacks from 0-2 in sets and while he will be tired, he also hasn’t had this many reasons to feel confident about his game and mentality for a while now. But it’s very likely the end of the road here. Paul is just so much better athletically and can match him in the shot-making department, leaving Davidovich Fokina little room to work with. And that room is almost completely gone after two long matches.

    Prediction: Paul in 4

Ateet: Alejandro Davidovich Fokina made another magnificent comeback from two sets down to take down Jakub Mensik. The Spaniard saved two match points on the way and got better and better as the match progressed. Paul was clinical in his third-round match and will be looking for a similar performance against Davidovich Fokina. Paul has never lost to the Spaniard before and should take this one against a likely fatigued Davidovich Fokina.

    Prediction: Paul in 4

    Carlos Alcaraz vs Jack Draper

Jim: Carlos Alcaraz at least looked mortal in the third round, dropping a set to Nuno Borges, and Jack Draper has beaten him before – and on a grass court, a surface the Spaniard probably prefers to the quick hard courts in Melbourne. But over the course of five sets, it is hard to see Draper managing to out-hit or outlast the Spaniard. Particularly after spending so much time on court.

    Prediction: Alcaraz in 3

Damian: This wasn’t likely to end up being particularly close either way, but a fresh Draper could have been a good candidate to test Alcaraz. The Briton deserves a lot of credit for what he did during the off-season with his specified training taking his fitness and heat resistance to a whole new level. But there’s just no way he has enough in the tank after these three five-setters and Alcaraz will make him suffer.

    Prediction: Alcaraz in 4

Ateet: Alcaraz dropped his first set of the tournament against Borges but it was still a great performance from the Spaniard. His serve is working beautifully and now he has a chance to get revenge on Draper, who defeated him in straight sets last year on grass. Draper has played three five-setters, and I’m not sure how physically fit he will be. He can keep this close if he can serve well but I don’t expect more from him.

    Prediction: Alcaraz in 4
    Embed from Getty Images

    Alexander Zverev vs Ugo Humbert

Jim: This should be a real test for Alexander Zverev. He did very convincingly beat Ugo Humbert in their most recent meeting in the final in Bercy at the back end of last year, but one suspects that the occasion got the better of Humbert that day. He should give a better account of himself here. Zverev, however, is striking the ball exceptionally cleanly and serving superbly. Expect him to overpower Humbert.

    Prediction: Zverev in 4

Damian: Their recent encounter in Paris was a little misleading, Humbert was extremely fatigued after his efforts that week. But that doesn’t mean it’s a good matchup. Zverev hasn’t lost to a left-handed player in almost two years and it makes sense – the usual advantages of spins and serves out wide don’t trouble him with the elite backhand he possesses. It’s going to be an uphill battle for the Frenchman and this isn’t Zverev’s time to exit the event yet.

    Prediction: Zverev in 4

Ateet: This will be a rematch of the Paris Masters final, with Humbert hoping to exact revenge. Zverev has been strong so far, having yet to drop a set, but Humbert’s game can cause him difficulties. Humbert got outplayed in the Paris Masters final but I expect a better match from him. However, I don’t see him beating the German, who has an incredible record against left-handed players.

    Prediction: Zverev in 4

The Australian Open Day 8 is set to be an exciting one, with some thrilling matches lined up in the men’s draw. One of the standout matches of the day will be Novak Djokovic taking on Tomas Machac in the fourth round.

Djokovic, the defending champion and world number one, will be looking to continue his dominant form and secure a spot in the quarterfinals. The Serbian star has been in imperious form so far in the tournament, dropping just one set in his first three matches.

On the other hand, Machac, a talented young player from the Czech Republic, will be looking to cause a major upset and take down the top seed. The 21-year-old has shown promise in his early career and will be eager to make a statement on the big stage.

Despite Machac’s potential, Djokovic is the heavy favorite in this match and is expected to come out on top. His experience, skill, and mental toughness make him a formidable opponent for anyone on the tour.

Overall, Djokovic vs Machac is shaping up to be an intriguing battle, but it’s likely that the Serbian maestro will prevail and advance to the next round. Tennis fans can expect a high-quality match between these two players, with Djokovic ultimately emerging victorious.

  • Mpetshi Perricard vs. Opelka, Dimitrov vs. Lehecka

Mpetshi Perricard vs. Opelka, Dimitrov vs. Lehecka

Novak Djokovic and six other seeded players have crashed out in Brisbane, leaving only No. 2 Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals. Dimitrov faces Jiri Lehecka on Saturday, while Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard goes up against Reilly Opelka.

(PR) Reilly Opelka vs. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

It could be biggest-serving matchup of the entire year when Mpetshi Perricard and Opelka collide in a surprising semifinal showdown at the Brisbane International on Saturday. A red-hot Mpetshi Perricard’s presence is no surprise, but no one could have expected a resurgent Opelka to make it this far–at least considering his draw. The 27-year-old American stunned Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Friday, building on previous wins over Federico Agustin Gomez and Matteo Arnaldi.

Mpetshi Perricard has been on fire dating back to last fall, when he captured an ATP 500 title on the indoor hard courts of Basel. The 21-year-old Frenchman is picking up right where left off, rolling through tough Brisbane tests in the form of Nick Kyrgios, Frances Tiafoe, and Jakub Mensik. Mpetshi Perricard has struck 75 aces in seven sets and has not been broken a single time. This match will almost certainly come down to nothing more than tiebreakers, but a supremely confident Mpetshi Perricard should have the edge in the pressure-packed moments.

    Pick: Perricard in 2

Jiri Lehecka vs. (2) Grigor Dimitrov

Dimitrov and Lehecka will be squaring off for the fourth time in their careers on Saturday. Lehecka leads the head-to-head series 2-1; he survived a third-set tiebreaker at the 2022 Stockholm tournament and prevailed 7-6(4), 6-4 at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters. Dimitrov’s lone victory has come at the 2022 Australian Open via a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 decision.

As the latter result suggests, Dimitrov loves playing Down Under–including in Brisbane. The 33-year-old is 26-6 lifetime at this event with two titles, and so far this week he has dismissed Yannick Hanfmann, Aleksandar Vukic, and Jordan Thompson. However, Lehecka clearly likes this matchup and is also playing great. The 23-year-old Czech lost just a single set (in a tiebreaker) while ousting Holger Rune, Yoshihito Nishioka, and Nicolas Jarry en route to the semis. An upset would hardly be surprising.

    Pick: Lehecka in 3

Mpetshi Perricard vs. Opelka, Dimitrov vs. Lehecka: A Clash of Tennis Titans

Get ready for an epic showdown on the tennis court as Mpetshi Perricard takes on Opelka and Dimitrov faces off against Lehecka. These matches are sure to be filled with intense rallies, powerful serves, and strategic gameplay.

Perricard, known for his lightning-fast footwork and precise shot-making, will need to bring his A-game against the hard-hitting Opelka. With both players hungry for victory, this match is sure to be a nail-biter from start to finish.

Meanwhile, Dimitrov will be looking to showcase his finesse and skill against the young up-and-comer Lehecka. With Dimitrov’s experience and Lehecka’s raw talent, this match is bound to be a thrilling display of athleticism and determination.

Tennis fans, mark your calendars and tune in to witness these exciting matchups. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell. Don’t miss out on the action!

ATP Brisbane Semifinal Predictions Including Dimitrov vs Lehecka

Top-seeded Novak Djokovic fell to Reilly Opelka in the quarterfinals, which leaves the 2025 ATP Brisbane International singles title a little more up for grabs. But for someone unexpected to win, No. 2 seed Grigor Dimitrov would have to lose and he’s got a pristine record at this venue. In the top half of the draw, Reilly Opelka and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard meet in a match of perhaps the best two servers on the planet right now. Who do you think will make the final?

    ATP Brisbane Semifinal Predictions

Reilly Opelka vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

    Head-to-head:  First meeting

This is a cool story as when Reilly Opelka was coming onto the tour, he was considered the most dynamic, athletic, and baseline-oriented that a “servebot” can be. But the standards have changed since and now Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is simply in another league footwork-wise while probably possessing the strongest serve on the circuit. Still, the reality is that these two are just very likely to have to settle this match in tie-breaks and literally one random error could change the course of their semifinal. The slightly better serve, the slightly better baseline game – Mpetshi Perricard. But it’s not a guarantee it will matter in a lottery scenario.

    Jiri Lehecka vs Grigor Dimitrov

    Head-to-head: Lehecka 2-1

Grigor Dimitrov is the greatest of all time at this event, racking up 26 match wins over the years and looking to make his fourth final. It will be interesting to see if the Bulgarian falls off at all this year, considering 2023-24 was such a massive revival of his career. If he does, we haven’t seen any indication of that so far at his favorite event. Jiri Lehecka loves the Australian swing himself (Australian Open quarterfinal in 2023, title in Adelaide last year) and will be the toughest challenge Dimitrov has faced so far. But let’s say the Brisbane king has one more run to the final left in him.
    Prediction: Dimitrov in 3

The ATP Brisbane tournament has been filled with exciting matches and upsets, and now we are down to the semifinals. One of the most anticipated matches is between Grigor Dimitrov and Tomas Lehecka.

Dimitrov, the former world number three, has been in impressive form this tournament, defeating top players like Alex de Minaur and Jannik Sinner. His powerful serves and aggressive baseline game have been tough for his opponents to handle.

On the other hand, Lehecka, the young up-and-comer from the Czech Republic, has been turning heads with his fearless playing style and consistent groundstrokes. He has shown great composure under pressure and has been able to dictate play against more experienced players.

In this semifinal match, it will be a battle of experience versus youth. Dimitrov will look to use his experience and shot-making ability to overpower Lehecka, while Lehecka will try to disrupt Dimitrov’s rhythm with his aggressive play.

In the end, I predict that Dimitrov will come out on top in a hard-fought match. His experience and ability to raise his level in crucial moments will give him the edge over the young Lehecka. However, it will certainly be a close and entertaining match to watch.

  • ATP Brisbane Day 2 Predictions Including Lehecka vs Rune

ATP Brisbane Day 2 Predictions Including Lehecka vs Rune

The 2025 tennis season has kicked off and while all the focus is on the Australian Open there’s still some important tournaments to be played before that, including this ATP 250 event in Brisbane, with none other than Novak Djokovic leading the field. While the Serb won’t be in action yet, there’s plenty of great matches to look forward to Monday, with both of last year’s finalists–Grigor Dimitrov and Holger Rune–taking to the court.

    ATP Brisbane Day 2 Predictions

    Arthur Rinderknech vs Yoshihito Nishioka

    Head-to-head: Nishioka 1-0 Rinderknech

Nishioka won a very hard fought encounter in last year’s Atlanta semfinals en route to a third career title and this should also be a very tightly contested affair. Both players struggle to make headway against top level opponents, but are solid ATP level players who can compete for titles at ATP 250 level. Nishioka is usually the slightly more consistent player of the two and has perhaps the slighest of edges here.
    Prediction: Nishioka in 3

    Grigor Dimitrov vs Yannick Hanfmann

    Head-to-head: Dimitrov 1-0 Hanfmann

Dimitrov had an amazing 2024 season and now faces the big challenge of staying in the top 10 or perhaps rising even higher. He is the defending champion in Brisbane and always tends to play well at this venue, so he is definitely expected to have a deep run here and make relatively easy work of this first round encounter.
    Prediction: Dimitrov in 2

    Jiri Lehecka vs Holger Rune

    Head-to-head: Rune 2-1 Lehecka

Going by ranking, this is definitely the match of the day, even more so if we consider that Lehecka is likely considerably underranked given his long injury absence last year. 2025 will be a big year for both players, especially for Rune who is hyped as a potential Grand Slam champion, and a win here would be the perfect start for either player. Rune should be considered a very slight favorite, but it is an incredibly difficult match to call, one that could genuinely go either way.
