Where it is: 5.3 million light-years away in the constellation Leo
When it was shared: Jan. 16, 2025
Why it’s so special: Large galaxies like our own Milky Way come from small “seed” galaxies, which grow, collide and merge over time, with each interaction causing more stars to form as gas and dust mix together. However, some of the original seed galaxies still exist in the universe, having remained unchanged for billions of years and containing few chemical elements besides hydrogen and helium.
One such galaxy is an irregular dwarf galaxy called Leo P (the “P” stands for “pristine”), which is far enough away from the Local Group of galaxies — the cluster of large galaxies including the Milky Way and Andromeda — to remain unaffected by their influence.
Leo P is similar to the primordial galaxies of the early universe, so astronomers can learn a lot about early cosmic history by studying it. Although first discovered in 2013, new data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has revealed that Leo P is unexpectedly forming new stars.

That’s a big surprise to astronomers because small, isolated galaxies like Leo P were thought to have switched off their star-forming factories when the universe was about a billion years old, during a cosmic era known as “the Epoch of Reionization.” It followed the cosmic dark ages, which refers to a period during the early universe when the dense fog of neutral hydrogen gas blocked light. When the first stars formed then exploded as supernovas, they spread energetic ultraviolet light capable of ionizing hydrogen atoms, or splitting them back into electrons and protons, according to NASA.

We reckon the Celestron NexStar 8SE is the best motorized telescope out there for zooming in on galaxies like Leo P, as it’s great for astrophotography, and offers stunning, detailed imagery. For a more detailed look, you can check out our Celestron NexStar 8SE review.
Using JWST’s Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) to determine the brightness and colors of thousands of stars within the dwarf galaxy, researchers found that Leo P formed stars early on in the universe but stopped doing so shortly after the Epoch of Reionization. That was expected. However, the researchers also discovered that the galaxy reignited after a few billion years and started forming new stars again. Astronomers have gathered similar measurements for three other isolated galaxies, but found that star production ceased within all of them and never resumed, so it’s unclear why Leo P reignited.
JWST will now study four other isolated dwarf galaxies to find more clues about how star formation has changed over time.
The James Webb Space Telescope has once again left scientists in awe with its latest discovery – a stunning image of an ancient galaxy roaring back to life.
The image, captured by the highly-anticipated telescope, shows a galaxy that was thought to be dormant suddenly springing back to life with a burst of new star formation. This unexpected phenomenon has left researchers scrambling to understand how such a dramatic event could occur.
The galaxy, located billions of light-years away, is believed to have been dormant for millions of years before suddenly reigniting with a flurry of new activity. Scientists are now racing to study this galaxy in more detail, hoping to uncover the secrets behind its remarkable rebirth.
The James Webb Space Telescope, set to launch later this year, promises to revolutionize our understanding of the universe with its unparalleled capabilities. This latest image is just a taste of the incredible discoveries that await us as this groundbreaking telescope begins its mission of exploration.
Stay tuned for more breathtaking images and groundbreaking discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope as it continues to push the boundaries of our understanding of the cosmos.
From Charley Pride, Linda Martell and Ray Charles to Darius Rucker and Beyoncé, Black artists have been leaving an imprint on country music for decades. Here are some of the leading young talents making history today.

How you know him
The Virginia native (real name: Collins Obinna Chibueze), 29, topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with his 2024 country hip-hop smash “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” tying the Hot 100 record set by Lil Nas X’s 2018 country hip-hop smash “Old Town Road.”
Country heroes
Shaboozey grew up listening to legends like Kenny Rogers, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins. “Johnny Cash was something that resonated with me very early on,” he tells PEOPLE. “Marty Robbins too. I loved Marty Robbins. His voice was just so sweet and distinct. Just seeing the parallels between country music, [with] the storytelling, and hip-hop, I was like, ‘Oh man, they’re kind of talking about the same things.’ ”
Don’t wake him up!
“It feels like a dream,” Shaboozey told PEOPLE last year about his whirlwind of success. “It feels like I’m definitely going to wake up at some point and be like, ‘Damn, that s— was a dream?’ ”

How you know her
Guyton, 41, was the first Black female country artist to be Grammy-nominated for best country solo performance (for her 2020 single “Black Like Me”) and the first Black woman to host the Academy of Country Music Awards (in 2021). Her second album, House on Fire, came out in September.
Proudest moment
The star was expecting son Grayson, now 4, when she performed “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?” with Keith Urban at the 2020 ACM Awards. “All my success happened when I was pregnant, and we’ve been taught as women that pregnancy stifles careers,” says Guyton, who married Grant Savoy in 2017. “That was really empowering. I’m up on the stage succeeding in spite of what you may think of what a woman should do as a career woman.”
Living her music
Guyton is at work on album No. 3. “I’ve gone through a lot in my life,” the Texas native says. “I want to write story songs of things I’ve seen.”

How you know her
The 27-year-old from Alaska, who released her debut album, Bad Girl Bible: Vol. 1, in September 2023 and has toured with Reba McEntire and Orville Peck, nabbed a guest spot on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter song “BLACKBIIRD.” She also performed on America’s Got Talent in May.
Always in the cards
Roberts spent years manifesting a Beyoncé collaboration — and performing with her at her Christmas Day halftime show in Houston was the cherry on top. “She’s always been my No. 1 favorite artist in the world,” she says. “I always knew that would happen one day. I just didn’t know when.”
Challenging the norm
“People have a certain standard of what country music should look like,” Roberts says. “I’m not trying to fit anybody’s criteria but my own and just be who I am.”

The trio — sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and their cousin Trea Swindle—became stars after earning the second-ever group golden buzzer on America’s Got Talent in 2022, finishing in fifth place. “That day, 4,000 people demanded the golden buzzer,” says Danica, 34. “You can’t fake that kind of joy.”
Dolly Parton did what?!
After they performed “You Can Have Him Jolene,” their twist on Dolly Parton’s 1973 classic “Jolene,” on AGT, the legend herself gave them a shout-out on social media. “We screamed so loud, we got a noise complaint and almost got kicked out of the hotel,” says Devynn, 27, laughing.
Born to sing
Named for the small, rural Mississippi community where they were raised, the New Orleans-based group is all about family. “Our grandparents had 17 kids, and now there’s 108 of us,” says Trea, 34. “We were taught to sing before we could talk.”

Spencer, 36, was one of four women featured on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter track “BLACKBIIRD” in 2024. She’s toured with Willie Nelson and Jason Isbell, and she released her debut album, My Stupid Life, in January 2024.
Clearing hurdles
“I didn’t know if I would be able to find a home in country music,” says the Baltimore-born Spencer, who calls her journey “beautiful,” adding, “I take in the highs as deeply as I can because there are also a lot of challenges that I face because I’m a Black woman in the genre that sometimes fights change.”
Artist at work
These days Spencer is laser-focused on writing new music. “My phone’s been on Do Not Disturb for over two months,” she says. “After the year I’ve had, the thing I feel most right now is confident.”

How you know him
Grammy-nominated artist Brown, 39, took the world by storm with his hit “The Git Up” in 2019. The song topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for 12 weeks, making him one of that year’s top new country artists.
New lease on life
In 2020 Brown was hit on his motorcycle by a drunk driver in his hometown of Atlanta, and he says the “journey” inspired songs on his upcoming album Dear Nashville. “I’m talking about my accident, overcoming and learning how to walk again,” says Brown, who broke both of his arms, wrists and legs as well as his pelvis. “I’m blessed to even be here.”
“Trailer trap” king
Brown has put his own spin on country music with a sound he calls “trailer trap.” Says Brown: “Trailer park music meets trap music. I bridged the gap. It’s been amazing overcoming all the stigma and the naysayers.”

How you know him
The New Jersey native, born Daniel Gerard Breland, 29, hit No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Viral chart with his 2019 debut single, “My Truck,” which also reached the Top 40 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. He’s since collaborated with country stars Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Keith Urban and Shania Twain.
Church roots
“My parents are gospel singers who met in the Howard Gospel Choir in the ’80s,” says Breland. “I grew up singing in church and sitting in on choir rehearsals, so the vocal runs I do, the harmonies, the arrangements — it’s all very gospel-coded.”
On the road
Breland, who released his debut album, Cross Country, in 2022, is planning a trip overseas. “I’m gearing up for a U.K./European tour,” says the singer-songwriter, who performed five U.K. shows in 2023. “Country music is going global.”
Shaboozey, the rising star in the music industry, has been making waves with his unique blend of country and rap music. His latest album, “Parallels,” explores the unexpected connections between these two seemingly disparate genres.
In a recent interview, Shaboozey opened up about his inspiration for the album and how he sees country and rap as two sides of the same coin. “Both genres have a deep connection to storytelling and emotion,” he explained. “They may sound different on the surface, but at their core, they both speak to the human experience in a powerful way.”
Shaboozey also shared his vision for his ‘dream’ life, which includes selling out stadiums and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry. “I want to push the boundaries of what is possible in music and create something truly unique,” he said.
With his infectious energy and genre-defying sound, Shaboozey is poised to become a major player in the music scene. Keep an eye out for this talented artist as he continues to break down barriers and forge his own path to success.

And it is amazing how a player, with his mere presence, just by occupying his place in the corner, could condition his environment so much. The defenses opened up, the helpers hesitated, the spacing it was multiplying… and yet, without the need for a screen and with the pointing on the face… crash.
This is what the pre-injury Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors got us used to on more than 42% of occasions and for eight years. A very complete shooting guard (defense, cuts, penetrations, off-ball generation…) to whom he added the outside power hammer as a matter of course.
Enough with your ‘messy’ version
In Dallas, nothing is expected or asked of him other than the latter. Because just by doing that, the atmosphere around him changes. In the last two games we have enjoyed a certain vestige of Splash Brother. Of the Klay Thompson who cares the least about the situation of the defender. Where he is and how close he is.
The Klay who only needs to receive, look and strike. A sequence that is measured in hundredths.
6 of 11 yesterday on triples. 7 of 12 against Washington. Almost 57% effectiveness. And it was essential last night to beat the Pelicans, who, with Zion Williamson (29 points), Trey Murphy (32) and Dejounte Murray (27), came out determined not to make things easy for Jason Kidd’s team.
Four players playing at a high level
Thompson’s perimeter relief was one of the four things that allowed the Mavericks to beat the team, who trailed the entire game before finishing off the final and decisive quarter.
Kyrie Irving: taking advantage of the inside lane to attack with his dribbling and intelligent use of the body again and again (25 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists).
PJ Washington: Spectacular and omnipresent. He gave it his all, stretching out on both sides of the court like a Giacometti sculpture (25 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists).
Daniel gafford: perfect game (9 out of 9). Powerful and lethal up front (5 offensive rebounds), a wall behind. And a sequence of two blocks worth watching (minute 3:37).
Quentin Grimes also had a good game off the bench, scoring 17 points. In a game of extravagance, where neither team left anything undone, the attacks prevailed over the defenses for a very high score of 137 to 136.
Until the Slovenian returns
Winning against Washington was a necessary walk (15 consecutive losses), but the game against NOLA, with many of their players back, was a trap game and they have managed to get through it. To do so, While Luka Doncic does not return, the best versions of Irving, Washington, Dinwiddie, or Gafford are vital.
And yes. Also that of old Klay.

Jeison Rosario faces Jesus Alejandro Ramos Jr. on Saturday’s Benavidez-Morrell undercard in Las Vegas. (Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
LAS VEGAS — Jeison Rosario lost his will to live a few months after he lost his desire to box.
By March 2023, the former unified junior middleweight champion became so depressed that the thought of suicide consumed him every day. That’s how little life meant to Rosario, who shocked the boxing world five years ago when he upset 30-to-1 favorite Julian Williams by fifth-round technical knockout to capture the WBA, IBO and IBF titles in Williams’ hometown of Philadelphia.
“It was so bad,” Rosario says, “that I woke up every morning thinking about taking my own life.”
Rosario had already retired at that point, hanging up his gloves at age 27 following a devastating fifth-round knockout loss to Brian Mendoza in late 2022. Mendoza was the third fighter to knock out Rosario over a 25-month span, which left Rosario hopeless regarding rejuvenating his career. The one-time 154-pound champion promptly retired in his locker room after Mendoza demolished him, though Rosario’s youth left fans and reporters skeptical about his commitment to ending his prizefighting career.
Little did they know that the consequences of those losses, abandonment and the fear of not knowing how he would provide for his three children back in the Dominican Republic, ravaged Rosario’s psyche.
“It was more than boxing,” Rosario recalls. “I felt miserable overall. My self-esteem was shot, very low. I really felt like living made no sense overall. I felt that life had lost its meaning.”
Rosario credits his wife of two and a half years, Thaina, for helping him out of what, at times, was a bottomless depression. Thaina Rosario strongly encouraged her husband to restore his connection to God, which he believes led him to a new trainer, respected Las Vegas-based cornerman Bob Santos.
My self-esteem was shot, very low. I really felt like living made no sense overall. I felt that life had lost its meaning.”Jeison Rosario
“Absolutely everyone left my side,” Rosario says. “And when I say everyone, I [mean] everybody. The only one that stayed by me, and never left my side, was my wife. She was the one who stayed with me through thick and thin, held my hand and led me through the darkness and into where I am now. I don’t know what I would do without her.”
A reinvigorated Rosario (23-4-2, 17 KOs) moved from New York to Las Vegas this past spring to begin training at Santos’ gym. His performance in his August comeback fight — a 10-round draw with fellow former unified 154-pound champ Jarrett Hurd — helped Rosario secure a more meaningful bout Saturday night in Las Vegas, where the refocused fighter nicknamed “Banana” will attempt to pull off another huge upset.
Rosario, 29, takes on top prospect Jesus Ramos, a 23-year-old southpaw who has his own championship aspirations within the loaded junior middleweight division. Ramos (21-1, 17 KOs), of Casa Grande, Arizona, is listed by BetMGM as a 25-to-1 favorite to defeat Rosario in the pay-per-view opener on the stacked David Benavidez vs. David Morrell Jr. undercard at T-Mobile Arena (8 p.m. ET; Prime Video, $79.95).
“I left my depression behind in New York,” Rosario says. “I came to Las Vegas with a positive mindset and that’s where I am now, in Las Vegas, living my best life.”

Ramos remembers being inspired when he watched Rosario win the junior middleweight belts from Williams. Rosario’s reign lasted only eight months before Jermell Charlo knocked him out in the eighth round of Rosario’s next fight, a 12-round title unification clash in September 2020.
The respectful Ramos realizes Rosario still possesses plenty of power. He also understands he is heavily favored to win Saturday’s 10-rounder for a reason.
“I thought he was a lot older, and he’s only 29,” Ramos says. “So, he’s fairly young. But, I mean, sometimes that’s the way it goes. He had tough fight after tough fight. And I hate to use this word, but sometimes fighters get shot. It happens. I’ve seen it time and time again. They don’t react the same and it happens when you’re fighting these tough, tough fights, and sometimes getting knocked out like that is tough. But it was sad, man, because I was a fan of Jeison Rosario.
“I remember when he fought [Nathaniel] Gallimore [in April 2017] and Gallimore was signed to the same management company as me. We saw that fight and he lost [by knockout]. Then he bounced back. I watched his career and I was really excited when he beat Julian Williams. I liked his style. I liked to study that fight. It seemed like he had a really good style going into that fight with Julian Williams.”
Hurd also attempted to resurrect his career when he entered the ring as a slight favorite to beat Rosario five months ago in Plant City, Florida. Rosario beat him 96-94 on the scorecard of judge Mike Ross, but Hurd won 96-94 according to Joann Richard and James O’Connor had it even, 95-95.
“I gave the edge to Hurd, but I thought [Rosario] did really good,” Ramos recalls. “He did look a little past his prime, a little slower, not the same Rosario that perhaps we saw against Julian Williams, even Brian Mendoza. I think when he fought Brian Mendoza, he was still a little sharper. With Hurd, he looked past his prime, but I think still he looked good. He’s still a threat. You can tell he still has the punching power, so there’s a lot to look out for in the fight versus Rosario.”
However he fares versus Ramos, Rosario realizes he has won a much more brutal battle with his own demons. He hopes when other dejected boxers and athletes read his story, that they’ll become motivated to figuratively fight their way out of similar challenging circumstances.
“This kind of story, one of overcoming adversity, is one people should hear,” Rosario said. “I’m glad I can tell my story in a way where I can inspire people, and also show that boxing is about more than just the gloves you put on your fists and how strong you can be. It’s also about overcoming adversity in the toughest times of your life, and then coming out the other side successfully.”
Life had lost its meaning: 2 years after boxing nearly killed him, ex-champ is refusing to stay down
It’s been two years since former boxing champion Marcus Johnson stepped into the ring for what would turn out to be the fight of his life. Knocked unconscious in the final round, Johnson was rushed to the hospital and spent weeks in a coma.
When he finally woke up, Johnson found himself facing a new reality. The physical and mental toll of his injuries left him questioning everything he had ever known. Life had lost its meaning, and the once proud champion was struggling to find his place in the world.
But despite the odds stacked against him, Johnson refused to stay down. With the support of his family and friends, he embarked on a long and arduous journey of recovery. Physical therapy, counseling, and a newfound sense of purpose helped him slowly but surely rebuild his life.
Today, Johnson is back on his feet and ready to face whatever challenges come his way. He may never step back into the ring, but his fighting spirit lives on. Through his story of resilience and determination, he hopes to inspire others to never give up, no matter how tough the fight may be.
Life may have lost its meaning for a while, but for Marcus Johnson, the best is yet to come.
A transgender militarypilot posted a “proof of life” video Friday to refute rumors spread on social media that she was flying the helicopter that collided with a commercial jet nearReagan National Airport on Wednesday night, killing 67 people.
“I understand some people have associated me with the crash in D.C., and that is false,” Jo Ellis, a Black Hawk pilot with the Virginia Army National Guard, said in the Facebook video. “It is insulting to the families to try to tie this to some sort of political agenda. They don’t deserve that. I don’t deserve this. And I hope that you all know that I am alive and well, and this should be sufficient for you all to end all the rumors.”
Several hours prior to posting the video, Ellis shared a screenshot on her Facebook account of an X post in which someone had shared two images of her and made the false claim that she was the Black Hawk pilot involved in the deadly crash.
Ellis did not immediately return a request for additional comment.
A Virginia National Guard spokesperson confirmed that Ellis, a chief warrant officer 2, is a currently serving soldier and that there were “no Virginia National Guard personnel on board the Black Hawk that collided with the jetliner Wednesday evening.”
At least two news websites, Santa Monica Observer, based in Santa Monica, California, and The Express Tribune, based in Pakistan, reported on the rumors, with the Observer reporting as fact that Ellis was on board the helicopter and questioningwhether the crash “was intentional.” As of Friday afternoon, the Observer had updated its article but the Tribune had not.
Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by social media platform X, amplified the misinformation. X is owned by Elon Musk, who serves as the company’s chairman and chief technology officer.
“A military helicopter crash involving a transgender pilot named Jo Ellis has sparked significant discussion on X, particularly after the incident where the helicopter collided with an American Airlines flight, resulting in 66 fatalities,” Grok’s summary stated if X users searched Ellis’ name, according to screenshots by multiple X users.
As of Friday afternoon, Grok corrected its summary of Ellis. And if a user asks the AI chatbot who the Black Hawk pilots were that were involved in the deadly crash, it now correctly names two of the three involved.
X did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Grok AI’s claims about Ellis.
“I don’t really want to have to deal with all of the headlines and everything going on about my service,” she said. “I want to keep my head down, serve, serve honorably and then eventually retire, maybe another 15, 20 years, or however long my my body lets me fly that helicopter.”
She added, “In a time when it’s hard enough to meet recruiting numbers in the military, why would you want to, you know, kick out more soldiers that are willing to sacrifice their life for this country?”
Trans people have increasingly been falselyblamed for tragedies and violence in recent years, particularly after mass shootings. In March 2022, a trans woman living in Georgia said she faced harassment and threats after her photo was shared online alongside false claims that she was the shooter who killed 19 children and two adults at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. The shooter was killed on the scene by police.
Similar false or unconfirmed claims spread after at least four shootings in the last two years — in Nashville, Tennessee; Philadelphia; Madison, Wisconsin; and Des Moines, Iowa — that the shooters’ were transgender or LGBTQ and that their identities had something to do with the crimes.
These online rumors following violence and tragedies have spiked alongside an increasingly hostile state and federal legislative climate for trans rights. In the last few years, dozens of states have passed laws that restrict transition-related care and school sports participation for trans youth and limit access to restrooms and identity documents for trans people of all ages.
In addition to his executive order barring trans people from the military, Trump has signed executive orders declaring that the United States will only recognize two sexes, male and female, and ending diversity, equity and inclusion programs inside federal agencies. He also signed an order directing agencies to prohibit federal funding for schools promoting “gender ideology and discriminatory equity ideology” and another that aims to restrict access to transition-related care for minors nationwide.
At a news conference Thursday, Trump implied that DEI programs could have caused the deadly crash over the Potomac, though the investigation had only just begun.
Trans pilot Jo Ellis is setting the record straight after false claims surfaced online alleging she was the pilot of the helicopter involved in the recent D.C. plane crash. In a ‘proof of life’ video shared on social media, Ellis can be seen clearly stating that she was not involved in the tragic incident.
The video, which has since gone viral, shows Ellis confidently addressing the rumors and affirming her commitment to safe and responsible flying practices. “I want to make it clear that I was not the pilot of the helicopter that crashed in D.C.,” Ellis says in the video. “I take my responsibilities as a pilot very seriously and would never put myself or others in harm’s way.”
Despite the false claims circulating online, Ellis remains determined to continue pursuing her passion for aviation and breaking down barriers in the industry as a transgender pilot. “I will not let these baseless accusations deter me from my goals,” she asserts in the video. “I am proud to be a trans pilot and will continue to fly with integrity and professionalism.”
As the aviation community rallies behind Jo Ellis in support, it is clear that her resilience and determination are unwavering in the face of adversity. Her ‘proof of life’ video serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of verifying information before spreading false claims, especially when it comes to matters of public safety.

For decades, Bruce Willis charmed audiences playing tough, heroic cops — from John McClane in Die Hard to John Hartigan in Sin City. But on January 15, as wildfires continued to burn in Los Angeles County following days of devastation, Bruce happily paid homage to real-life law enforcement working to keep Hollywood safe.
“Whenever he spotted a first responder, Bruce never missed the chance to offer a heartfelt handshake and a ‘Thank you for your service,’” his wife, Emma Heming, wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos showing the legendary action star shaking hands with LAPD officers in a surprise outing. “Yesterday was no different.”
But Bruce’s life these days is different. In 2022, his family announced his retirement from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia, a neurological condition that robs a person of their ability to communicate. Within a year, it had progressed to a form of dementia.
“Though his spirit is still there, he’s not the same Bruce anymore,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “He’s being brave, but life is also scary for him at times. The public doesn’t see the dark side of his illness. Fortunately, he has his family to support him through what they’ve come to accept as his final chapter.”
Bruce Willis’ Daily Life
He has good days and bad days. A “typical day” for the Golden Globe winner might be: “wake up, interact with his girls and wife, eat breakfast, then just enjoy time at home. Maybe one of his buddies might come over,” says the source, or perhaps ex-wife Demi Moore will visit.
“When I’m in L.A., I go over every week,” the newly minted Oscar nominee said in September 2024. “I really treasure the time that we all share.”
Then Bruce “will eat lunch and maybe be driven around,” adds the insider, noting he was spotted relaxing in the passenger seat of an SUV on January 22. “He may not be living his life on movie sets anymore, but he still enjoys seeing his community.”
His loved ones are making peace with the realities of Bruce’s health battle. Emma, 48, recently shared that daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, have “grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I’m not trying to shield them from it.”
The former model confirmed they “know that Daddy’s not going to get better.”

(According to the National Institute on Aging, the typical life expectancy for someone with his condition is six to eight years, though it can be as short as two.)
Bruce’s daughters with Demi, 62, — Rumer, Scout and Tallulah — have also shifted their expectations.
“Our visits have so much love and I feel that,” Tallulah, 30, told E! News in August 2024, “and that overarches anything for me — being able to have that connection.”
Bruce Willis’ Ups and Downs
Bruce’s friend Glenn Gordon Caron, who created Moonlighting, revealed in 2023 that the star was no longer fully verbal and seemed to be watching life “through a screen door.” But as Tallulah’s pointed out, “Thankfully, dementia has not affected his mobility.”
It has, unsurprisingly, affected his memory. Bruce’s condition has reportedly progressed to the point that he no longer recognizes some people, including Demi.
She’s remained positive.
“Given the givens, he’s in a very stable place,” the Ghost actress, who split from Bruce in 1998 after a decade of marriage, told CNN in December, explaining that she’s learned how important it is “to really meet them where they’re at 1738414363. And from that place there is such loving and joy.”
Demi acknowledged the situation’s been “very difficult” and that “there is great loss.” However, she insisted, “there is also great beauty and gifts that can come out of it.”
Celebrating Bruce Willis’ Milestone Birthday
His family is cherishing every moment. “Demi and Emma are working on a celebration for Bruce’s 70th birthday in March,” the source reveals. “It’s not about having a big spectacle. It’s about Bruce feeling loved by the people around him.”
Emma has admitted that marking special days can be bittersweet.
To cope, “I give myself 30 minutes to sit in the ‘why him, why us,’ to feel the anger and grief. Then I shake it off and return to what is. And what is… is unconditional love,” she shared in a December 2024 Instagram post about falling for Bruce 17 years ago. “I feel blessed to know it, and it’s because of him. I’d do it all over again and again in a heartbeat.”
Bruce Willis, the beloved action star, shocked the world two years ago when he revealed his diagnosis of dementia. Many fans were devastated to hear the news, as Willis has been a Hollywood icon for decades.
Now, two years after his diagnosis, many are wondering how Willis is coping and what his life looks like. According to sources close to the actor, Willis has been focusing on his health and spending quality time with his family. He has been receiving treatment for his dementia and is doing his best to stay positive and maintain a sense of normalcy in his life.
Despite his diagnosis, Willis has continued to work on projects that he is passionate about. He has been selective about the roles he takes on and has been focusing on projects that are meaningful to him. His family has been a great source of support for him during this challenging time, and they have been by his side every step of the way.
While Willis may be facing a difficult journey ahead, he is determined to make the most of his life and continue to do what he loves. His fans continue to show their support and admiration for him, and they are rooting for him as he navigates this new chapter in his life.
Overall, Willis is taking things one day at a time and is grateful for the love and support he has received from his fans, friends, and family. Despite his diagnosis, he remains a resilient and determined individual, and his spirit and talent continue to inspire those around him.
