Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, the Last Dinner Party

Charli XCX‘s “Brat” continues to dominate awards season, earning the Essex-bred singer the most Brit nominations for any artist this year: artist of the year, album of the year, song of the year and dance and pop act.

Seven-time Brit winner Dua Lipa follows with four nominations, including pop act, which she won in 2024, as well as artist of the year, album of the year for “Radical Optimism,” and song of the year for “Training Season.”

Also up for album of the year is the Last Dinner Party, last year’s Brits rising star winners, who are also recognized in the group of the year, best new artist and alternative/rock act categories. British jazz quintet and 2023 Mercury Prize recipient Ezra Collective will make its Brits debut with four nominations in the same categories.

The Beatles, who are shortlisted for song of the year for “Now & Then,” make a return to Brits contention nearly 50 years since their last nomination at the inaugural awards in 1977. Other British artists up for multiple awards this year include Beabadoobee, Central Cee and Jade.

The winners will be announced during the live show on March 1 at the O2 arena, broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX. The winners of the five genre awards will be determined by a public vote exclusively through WhatsApp, which will open on Jan. 31 and close on Feb. 14.

Damian Christian, managing director and president of promotions at Atlantic Records (part of Warner Music UK) and chair of the Brit Committee for 2025, said: “This year’s nominations once again showcase what an incredible array of diverse talent we have here in the U.K. I’m delighted that Charli is having her moment with an amazing five nominations. On Monday afternoon, Dua Lipa was seen heading to her car in Primrose Hill, London, to head to an appointment. Photographers caught a photo of her alleged engagement ring. Rumors that Lipa’s boyfriend Callum Turner had proposed started circulating around Christmas when the singer posted a carousel of pictures in which she is seemingly wearing a ring on the ring finger of her left hand.

For her outing, Lipa wore a cream coat, camel Ugg boots, and had her long black hair back in a braid. She was reportedly heading to Fierce Grace Hot Yoga studio in Chalk Farm.

A source told The Sun at Christmas that the couple were planning an epic New Year’s Eve party to celebrate with family and friends, adding, “Dua and Callum are so in love and know this is forever. They are engaged and couldn’t be happier. Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally and this is the cherry on the cake.”

The insider continued, “Callum is such a solid support for Dua and they make a wonderful couple. Their family and friends are so happy. It’s been an amazing Christmas for them.”

In her Instagram carousels, Lipa certainly did seem to be having an amazing Christmas, sharing several rare photos of herself with Turner in which they are laughing together and looking at one another adoringly.

Earlier this year, Lipa shared how she felt about romance these days with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.
