Batiste also composed the score for his documentary American Symphony, which is nominated for two Grammys.

His latest release debuted as the No. 1 Classical album, a reimagining of Beethoven’s most famous works titled Beethoven Blues (Batiste Piano Series, Vol. 1).

“We’re honored to work with this year’s pregame lineup to celebrate the rich musical legacy of New Orleans and the entire state,” Seth Dudowsky, head of music at the NFL, said. “The Super Bowl is a rare moment to unite fans around the world, and this year’s performers will bring the energy, soul and vibrant sounds of the region to a global stage, as we kickoff Super Bowl LIX with a celebration to remember.”

Stephanie Nogueras will perform the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language (ASL).

  • Eagles invite survivor of Bourbon Street attack back to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX: ‘Not letting evil win’

Former Princeton football player Ryan Quigley was seriously injured and lost his best friend and fellow teammate, Tiger Bech, in the violent terrorist attack in New Orleans on January 1. But Quigley will have the opportunity to write that tragic story when he returns next weekend as an honorary guest of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles invited Quigley and Bech’s sister to attend their divisional round game against the Los Angeles Rams last month, but this week they invited him to their training facility with the intention of surprising him with Super Bowl LIX tickets.

HOW TO WATCH SUPER BOWL LIX BETWEEN CHIEFS, EAGLES STREAMED ON TUBI

“We want to tell you the real reason we brought you here,” Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham said in a video shared by the team. “It’s okay if you’re not feeling it, but we would love to have you down for the Super Bowl.”

This year’s Super Bowl will be hosted by the city of New Orleans. It will take place just a little over a month after the attack. Quigley will return to the city, something he vowed never to do again.

“New Year’s Eve was my first time in New Orleans ever, it was my first night, and I told myself it was going to be the last,” he told the team’s website. “But then I thought about it, because all year I’ve been telling Tiger if the Eagles make the Super Bowl this year, I promised him I was going to take him, and he’s from Louisiana.”

“I think, not letting evil win and evil will not prevail. I think we’re going to go back to New Orleans and leave on a positive note from that city, given that Tiger’s from there and that I promised him I was going bring him down to the Super Bowl. I’m looking forward to it for sure.”

Quigley, 26, suffered broken bones in his leg, back and face and underwent surgery and several days in the hospital to recover from a horrific terror attack on Bourbon Street that killed 14 people and injured dozens more.

CHIEFS POTENTIAL SUPER BOWL CELEBRATIONS WILL NOT FEATURE PUBLIC RALLY FOLLOWING 2024 MASS SHOOTING: REPORT

He hopes that his presence will allow him to share Bech’s story, something he plans to continue doing no, matter where he goes.

“Everything that the Eagles have done from being around the facilities today and the Divisional Round, to helping us share his story, there’s no words to describe it. We’re forever grateful to have the opportunity to tell the rest of the world how special Tiger was.”

“Everyone that I meet moving forward, I want to introduce Tiger as well, because of how special he was and how much character he had,” he added.

The Philadelphia Eagles have extended a heartwarming invitation to one of the survivors of the tragic Bourbon Street shooting in New Orleans to attend Super Bowl LIX with them. The survivor, who wishes to remain anonymous, was caught in the crossfire during the senseless act of violence that took place in the iconic French Quarter.

The Eagles organization reached out to the survivor, expressing their desire to show support and solidarity during this difficult time. The survivor, who is a die-hard Eagles fan, was overwhelmed with gratitude for the invitation and eagerly accepted.

In a statement released by the Eagles, they expressed their commitment to standing with the survivor and not letting evil win. They emphasized the importance of coming together as a community to support those affected by such tragedies and to spread love and positivity in the face of darkness.

The survivor’s trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX will serve as a symbol of resilience and hope, showing that even in the midst of tragedy, there is still light and goodness to be found. The Eagles organization hopes that this gesture will bring some comfort and healing to the survivor as they continue to recover from the traumatic experience.

As the survivor prepares to join the Eagles in New Orleans for the big game, the entire team and fanbase stand in solidarity with them, sending thoughts of strength and support. Together, they will show that love and unity will always triumph over hate and violence. #NotLettingEvilWin #FlyEaglesFly

  • Jason Kelce reveals whether he’s supporting brother Travis or former team Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX

    CNN
     —

Just like two years ago, there are split loyalties in Super Bowl LIX for Jason Kelce.

The NFL’s season finale on February 9 in New Orleans will see his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, including his brother Travis.

The two teams faced off in Super Bowl LVII, the first championship game ever to feature two brothers playing on opposing squads, with Travis and the Chiefs ending up victorious in Arizona that time.

Jason has since retired but, having spent his whole 13-year playing career with the Eagles, has split allegiances between the two franchises.

And speaking on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast which he co-hosts with Travis, Jason revealed where his loyalties stand a little over a week and a half away from Super Bowl LIX.

“Here’s the biggest thing. Obviously, you’re my brother. I’ll always root for my brother. That’s the reality of it,” Jason, wearing an Eagles hat and jacket, explained. “Even though I’m decked out in Eagles gear, I’m always rooting for Travis.

“But, there’s a lot of people in the Philadelphia organization – whether it’s players, coaches, people in the building – that feel like extended family to me, especially my former offensive linemen. Like (right tackle) Lane Johnson feels like a brother in a lot of ways. I’m rooting for those guys too. I’m rooting for Philadelphia and I’m rooting for Travis Kelce. That’s the reality of it. Not matter what on game day, I’m going to be happy for one of those sides and I’m going to be sad for the other side.”

Jason Kelce talks to his brother Travis Kelce after their game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on November 20, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri.

He also went on to acknowledge the similarities between the last time the two teams played in the Super Bowl, recognizing that it will probably be a “little bit less intense” as he won’t be on the field this time.

“I think it’s going to be very similar, I really do. I live in Philadelphia, I still go to the facilities on a very regular basis,” he said. “I still feel like I am a Philadelphia Eagle and that I’m a part of all these people who root and cheer our team.

“So I would be lying if I said I don’t want the Eagles to win, but I also want Travis Kelce to win. That’s a long-winded way of saying I just want to see a good football game, whoever wins.”

Travis suggested Jason needed a half-and-half jumper similar to the one their mother Donna wore to Super Bowl LVII – with one half the green Eagles and the other the red Chiefs – but Jason quickly shut down the idea, saying he cannot wear red.

When asked about how he’s feeling in the build-up to his fifth Super Bowl, Travis said he was “feeling great.”

“Life is amazing. It’s a crazy feeling to be this fortunate in a game that you’ve been playing your entire life, man,” the 35-year-old Chiefs tight end said.

“I’ve had a lot of heartbreak, I’ve had a lot of times where it hasn’t been this sweet and right now, I’m just riding the high of living this dream out with my brothers and everybody in Kansas City.”

In a recent interview, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce revealed his pick for Super Bowl LIX between his brother Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and his former team, the Eagles.

When asked who he would be rooting for in the big game, Jason Kelce said, “I’ll always have love for the Eagles and the city of Philadelphia, but blood is thicker than water. I’ll be supporting my brother and the Chiefs all the way in Super Bowl LIX.”

It’s sure to be a bittersweet moment for Kelce as he watches his brother compete against his former team, but family ties run deep. Fans can expect to see Kelce cheering on the Chiefs as they battle it out on the gridiron for the championship title.

  • Some commercials for Super Bowl LIX sold for $8M, per reports

At least 10 commercials to air during Super Bowl LIX on Fox have sold for $8 million, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Fox reported in November that it had sold out of ad spots, at what it said it believed to be “record pricing,” Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch said at the time. As spots were dwindling, the price increased, according to reports. Super Bowl ads normally increase by about $100,000 each year, but this year, the increase was reportedly closer to $500,000.

“What was unique to this Super Bowl, or this marketplace, was we had a lot more people that weren’t in the game at all, all of a sudden be like, no, no, I have to get in the game,” Fox Sports EVP/ad sales Mark Evans said.

Around 123.7 million people watched the Super Bowl last year, according to Nielsen, and more than 115 million viewers watched in 2023, the last time the Super Bowl aired on Fox.

Anheuser-Busch, Meta, PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Taco Bell, Uber Eats and others will vie to win over the more than 120 million viewers expected to tune in for the broadcast on Fox and via the free livestream on Tubi.

“If I learned anything, it’s that we’re in a period now where the live sporting event, where people and families come together to watch, is that much more coveted,” Evans said. “There’s an escalation in price and interest in the demand for live sports, but we’re not at its peak. We’ve still got runway for growth.”

Fox declined to comment on the specific price tag for 30 seconds. Last year, a 30-second spot went for around a reported $7 million.

Evans said the mix of ad categories for the most part includes the usual suspects: beverages, snacks, tech companies and telcos. There will be a focus on AI in more commercials, he said, and slightly more pharmaceutical companies advertising this year.

One category that’s down is movie promos and streamers. Another traditionally big category for the Super Bowl, automakers, are mainly sitting it out after a tough year in the sector, with only Stellantis’ Jeep and Ram brands having announced an appearance.

The California wildfires in January made the lead-up to the game less predictable than usual. State Farm pulled out of its planned advertising to focus on the fires. And some other advertisers faced production delays. But Evans said accommodations were made wherever possible.

Advertisers are expected to begin releasing their ads in the days ahead of the game. One of the first ads to debut was an ad for Budweiser, featuring a Clydesdale foal that helps make a beer delivery.

Another Anheuser-Busch brand, Michelob Ultra, also released its ad, which shows Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara as pickleball hustlers.

Hellmann’s ad brings Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal back together for a reprise of the Katz’s Deli scene in “When Harry Met Sally.”

Teasers have abounded this year, from an Uber Eats teaser starring Charli XCX and Martha Stewart to Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt touting Meta’s Smart Glasses.

Super Bowl LIX will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, when the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs.

Information from The Associated Press was included in this report.

The Super Bowl is known for its extravagant commercials, and this year, some companies are shelling out big bucks to secure a spot during the big game. According to reports, several commercials for Super Bowl LIX have been sold for a whopping $8 million.

These high-priced ads are a testament to the popularity and reach of the Super Bowl, which draws in millions of viewers each year. Companies are willing to pay top dollar for a chance to showcase their products or services to such a large and engaged audience.

While the cost of these commercials may seem excessive to some, for many brands, the investment is well worth it. The Super Bowl offers a unique opportunity to connect with consumers on a massive scale, and the right commercial can leave a lasting impression and drive sales for months to come.

As we gear up for Super Bowl LIX, it will be interesting to see which companies have secured these coveted ad spots and what creative and innovative commercials they have in store for viewers. Stay tuned for more updates on the biggest commercials of the year!

  • My First Bet: Early picks and predictions for Super Bowl LIX

    And then there were two.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in Super Bowl LIX. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs held off Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills for a 32-29 win in the AFC Championship Game to keep their quest for a record third straight Super Bowl title alive.

The Eagles ran away from the Washington Commanders in the NFC title game, with Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts recording three rushing touchdowns apiece in a 55-23 victory.

The Chiefs and Eagles played for the Lombardi Trophy two years ago, with Kansas City posting a 38-35 win.

The line for the rematch opened with the Chiefs as a 1.5-point favorite at ESPN BET following Sunday’s games and had a total points over/under of 49.5.

Our team takes an early look at the odds to find values as we prepare for Super Bowl Sunday.

Boomer, Booger preview Chiefs vs. Eagles in Super Bowl LIX

Chris Berman and Booger McFarland look at how the Chiefs and Eagles match up ahead of their showdown in the Super Bowl.

Joe Fortenbaugh’s first bet: Dallas Goedert over 49.5 receiving yards (+100)

Last week: Chiefs -1.5 vs. Bills. Line closed at Chiefs -1. Chiefs won, 32-29.

No team in the NFL has struggled more in defending opposing tight than the Chiefs, and no receiving threat has been targeted more frequently this postseason by Jalen Hurts than Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert. The seven-year veteran is averaging 62.7 receiving yards per game this postseason, with 15 receptions on 18 targets for 188 yards and a touchdown in three games. Think of it like this: The Chiefs can devote resources to shutting down Goedert, but then how will they account for A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Saquon Barkley and the rest of the Philadelphia offense?

Tyler Fulghum’s first bet: Over 49.5

Last week: Commanders +5.5 at Eagles. Line closed at Eagles -6.5. Eagles won, 55-23.

A rematch of Super Bowl LVII that featured 73 total points, I like Super Bowl LIX between the Chiefs and Eagles to also go over the total. When Patrick Mahomes shares the field with another great QB or team, points usually follow on the scoreboard. Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith provide big-play potential on the other side. I can see this closing above 50 before kickoff.

Seth Walder’s first bet: Eagles +2

Last week: Bills ML (+105) at Chiefs. Bills money line closed at -104. Chiefs won, 32-29.

I’m backing the team that, by EPA per play, had the better passing offense, rushing offense, passing defense and rushing defense this season (playoffs included). And one that is getting two points! The FPI is with me on this, favoring the Eagles by just over two points. Yes, this means going against the magic of Mahomes in the postseason (which has certainly burned me before; just see last week!), but I’ve never been one to ignore the numbers, and I’m not going to start now.

Ben Solak’s first bet: JuJu Smith-Schuster anytime TD (+450)

Despite running more routes than DeAndre Hopkins in the conference round (18 to nine) and divisional round (13-11), Smith-Schuster has the same odds as Hopkins to score a touchdown (+450). This will likely remain a good value for quite some time as we ramp up for Super Bowl week, but I can’t imagine it gets any longer than +500 unless some news breaks. A good early sprinkle.

Andre Snellings’ first bet: Travis Kelce over 5.5 total receptions (-160)

Kelce is, by far, the most productive postseason tight end in NFL history and he already had his most productive game of this season during the playoffs (7 receptions, 117 yards, 1 touchdown in divisional round against the Texans). Look for him to bounce back from a pedestrian statistical effort in the AFC Championship game with a busy day against an Eagles defense that has been gashed by tight ends in the playoffs.

In the Wild Card round, Packers tight end Tucker Kraft caught all five targets, the second-most receptions he had in a game all season (max six, twice). In the Divisional round, Rams tight end Tyler Higbee had his best game of the season with seven receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown. And in the NFC Championship, Zach Ertz exploded for 11 receptions (previous season-high was seven) for 104 yards (previous high was 77 yards). Kelce will be targeted early and often in this Super Bowl.

Pamela Maldonado’s first bet: Chiefs -1.5

Last week: Chiefs ML (-120) vs. Bills. Chiefs money line closed at -116. Chiefs won, 32-29.

Mahomes continues to reign as the NFL’s most electrifying quarterback, delivering game-changing moments when the stakes are highest. The Chiefs’ offense, fueled by innovative playcalling and a versatile short passing attack, keeps defenses guessing at every turn. Add in Andy Reid’s masterful game planning and Steve Spagnuolo’s knack for in-game adjustments, and you’ve got a coaching duo built for championship moments. This isn’t just another game — it’s history in the making. Chiefs win. Book it!

  • Chiefs to wear away white uniforms in Super Bowl LIX; Eagles to wear home greens

In the Patrick Mahomes era, the Chiefs have worn their home jerseys in three of their four Super Bowl appearances (LIV, LV, LVIII), winning twice in red. Kansas City last wore its white jerseys in the Super Bowl in its first meeting with the Eagles in the capper to the 2022 season. The Chiefs beat Philadelphia, 38-35, to claim its third Lombardi Trophy. K.C. will be going for its third straight title, fourth in six years and fifth all-time this go-around.

The Eagles have worn green in all four of their previous Super Bowl appearances, winning only once in Super Bowl LII. That streak will continue.

Super Bowl LIX kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

In a surprising turn of events, the Kansas City Chiefs have announced that they will be donning their away white uniforms for Super Bowl LIX, while the Philadelphia Eagles will be sporting their iconic home green jerseys.

This decision comes as a shock to many fans, as the Chiefs have traditionally worn their home red jerseys for the big game. However, head coach Andy Reid has stated that the team wanted to switch things up and bring a new energy to the field.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are sticking with tradition and opting for their home greens, a color that has brought them plenty of luck in the past. Head coach Nick Sirianni believes that the green jerseys will help his team feel right at home and give them an extra boost of confidence.

It will certainly be an interesting sight to see the Chiefs in white and the Eagles in green when the two teams face off in Super Bowl LIX. Which team do you think will come out on top in this color clash? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Eagles choose green jerseys, Chiefs white for Super Bowl LIX

The Kansas City Chiefs will wear their away white jerseys in Super Bowl LIX, the same color they donned two years ago in the big game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles had the choice of jersey color given that they are considered the home team with the Feb. 9 game being played in New Orleans, an NFC host market. They opted for their home green jerseys, the same color they’ve worn in all of their previous four Super Bowl appearances. Philadelphia is 1-3 all-time in the big game.

Two years ago, the Chiefs recorded a 38-35 victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.

The Chiefs also wore white in their 35-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the first Super Bowl.

Kansas City is vying for its third consecutive Super Bowl title. The Chiefs wore their home red uniforms last year, in a 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

After much anticipation, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have announced their jersey choices for Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles have decided to wear their classic green jerseys for the big game, while the Chiefs will be donning their traditional white jerseys.

This decision comes as no surprise to many fans, as both teams have a history of success while wearing these respective colors. The Eagles have a strong record in their green jerseys, including their Super Bowl win in 2018. The Chiefs, on the other hand, have had great success in their white jerseys, including their Super Bowl victory in 2020.

With both teams choosing their lucky jerseys for the Super Bowl, fans can expect an exciting and competitive game between two powerhouse teams. Stay tuned for more updates as we countdown to Super Bowl LIX! #FlyEaglesFly #ChiefsKingdom #SuperBowlLIX

  • Super Bowl LIX odds, betting trends for Chiefs Eagles

Super Bowl LIX will be a rematch with plenty of star power. And a chance for history.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the big game once again and will aim to become the first team to capture three straight Super Bowl titles.

The Chiefs were able to fend off Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills for a 32-29 victory in a back-and-forth AFC Championship Game on Sunday. Allen is 4-1 against Mahomes in the regular season but 0-4 in the playoffs.

Standing in the way of history will be Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles, who took care of business with a dominating 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders in Sunday’s NFC title game.

The Eagles will be making their fifth Super Bowl appearance overall and second in three years. They lost 38-35 to the Chiefs in the 2023 game. Their lone victory came in 2018 against the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots (41-33).

The Chiefs have reached the Super Bowl in five of the past six seasons, taking home the Lombardi Trophy three times during that stretch. The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in last year’s game.

Super Bowl LIX will be played Feb. 9 (6:30 p.m. ET on FOX) at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Boomer, Booger preview Chiefs vs. Eagles in Super Bowl LIX

Chris Berman and Booger McFarland look at how the Chiefs and Eagles match up ahead of their showdown in the Super Bowl.

With Super Bowl LIX quickly approaching, all eyes are on the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles as two of the top contenders for the championship title. As the excitement builds, let’s take a closer look at the odds and betting trends for this highly anticipated matchup.

The Kansas City Chiefs, led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, are currently the favorites to win Super Bowl LIX with odds of +600. The Chiefs have been a dominant force in the NFL in recent years, making it to the Super Bowl in 2020 and winning it all in 2021. With a high-powered offense and a solid defense, the Chiefs are poised to make another deep playoff run this season.

On the other side, the Philadelphia Eagles are seen as a dark horse in the race for the Super Bowl. Despite their underdog status, the Eagles have shown flashes of brilliance this season, especially with the emergence of quarterback Jalen Hurts. With odds of +2000, the Eagles may be a risky bet, but their potential for an upset should not be underestimated.

When it comes to betting trends, the Chiefs have been a popular choice among bettors, with many placing their money on Kansas City to win it all. However, the Eagles have also garnered attention from savvy bettors looking for a potential underdog payout. As the game approaches, it will be interesting to see how the betting lines shift and where the smart money lands.

As Super Bowl LIX draws near, the excitement and anticipation continue to grow. Will the Chiefs cement their dynasty with another championship victory, or will the Eagles pull off a stunning upset? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – this matchup is sure to be one for the ages.

The Eagles will have someone in their backfield they did not have before – running back Saquon Barkley. Out of all the NFL MVP finalists this season, he is the last man standing in the playoffs. He has broken off huge runs for the Eagles and has been a huge factor in why Philadelphia has gotten as far as they have this year.

The major storyline for some will be about the Chiefs as they look to do something unprecedented – win three consecutive Super Bowl titles. Kansas City is also the first team to even get an opportunity to compete for it.

Mahomes commented on the possibility of entering a different stratosphere compared to other quarterbacks after defeating the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship.

“It always comes down to the wire. Luckily, we were on the winning side this time. But like I said, I’m just excited to get down to New Orleans,” Mahomes said. “Let’s go make history.”
