Monday, Jan. 20
At approximately 5 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car-deer accident in the 13,000 block of Highway 93, Randalia. William Clark, 54, of Fayette, was travelling west on Hwy 93 when a deer came into the roadway, striking his vehicle. Damage to the 2024 Promaster Ram van was estimated at $3,000. No injuries were reported.
Monday, Jan. 6
At 4:12 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of Filmore Road near Elgin. Upon further investigation, Brian Lee Moser, 57, of Elgin, was determined to be intoxicated while driving. He was arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail where he was held until his initial appearance. Moser was charged with operating while under the influence 1st offense, a serious misdemeanor, as well as cited for open container, operation of motor vehicle with expired license, and received a written warning for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
Recently, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has been busy investigating a number of crimes in our community. Here are some highlights from the latest Sheriff’s Log:– A burglary was reported on Main Street, where the suspect broke into a local business and stole valuable items. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
– Several reports of vandalism have been made in the past week, with property damage occurring in various neighborhoods across the county. The Sheriff’s Office is working to identify the perpetrators and hold them accountable for their actions.
– A domestic violence incident was reported on Oak Avenue, resulting in the arrest of an individual for assault. The Sheriff’s Office takes cases of domestic violence seriously and encourages anyone experiencing abuse to seek help.
– Drug-related offenses continue to be a concern in Fayette County, with multiple arrests made for possession and distribution of illegal substances. The Sheriff’s Office is committed to combating drug activity and keeping our community safe.
