Rylee Arnold is opening up about the cute story of how she met her boyfriend!

The 19-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro hard launched her beau Walker Lyons back in October and just revealed how they met.

It all started on a day before the latest season of DWTS when Rylee was “really fed up with LA traffic,” she was tired, lonely, having a hard day and just didn’t feel like driving.

“I remember I had to go get an outfit for, I think it was for Good Morning America,” she recalled on the latest episode of The Squeeze podcast. “And I was just like, I don’t want a freaking drive right now and try to find parking at a random Mall. And it’s Saturday. Like, I’m just not going to do that.”

She was on the phone with her mom, who told her to just take an Uber and then after she gets back home, to do some self-care.

“I get in this Uber. It’s this really nice lady, like super super kind, super nice,” Rylee dished. “And we’re just like, talking about dance, and she’s talking about what she does. And all of a sudden she was like, ‘Okay, this might sound really weird. Don’t take this the wrong way.’”

The driver then told her she had a nephew that played football at USC and she thought they would really hit it off.

“She was like, ‘Look him up on Instagram and if you don’t want to do something with it, you totally can,’ and I was like, ‘Okay,’” the dancer continued. “I trusted this girl, but I was like okay, let me look him up… I looked him up and I was like, ‘Okay, he’s cute!’ So at that point, I was like too scared to really do anything about it, and so I was just kind of like put it on my back pocket.”

Rylee explained how after she got home she just completely forgot about and how she didn’t have a desire to get into a relationship because doing DWTS and being in a relationship just didn’t seem very feasible.

About a week later, her sister sent a TikTok to their group chat and said, “Riley, this kid is playing at USC. He’s so cute, he’s your age, like, you need to reach out to him.”

“I was like, ‘You guys are going to die right now, like I was literally in his aunt’s Uber like a week ago,’ and they were like, ‘Riley, follow him now, follow him now,’” she said. “And then come to know that my brother-in-law is actually friends with his best friend’s dad and so there’s a connection there. We have so many mutuals.”

She notes that it’s crazy they hadn’t met before, but says, “I think we met at the most perfect time in both of our lives.”

Rylee then followed him, he followed her back and messaged her, then got her number and they started texting before he asked her on a date.
