  • Hulu’s Sterling K. Brown drama gets lost

Recently, Hulu announced a new drama series starring Emmy-winning actor Sterling K. Brown. Fans were thrilled at the prospect of seeing Brown in a leading role on the streaming platform. However, as production began and more details emerged, it became clear that the project was getting lost in the shuffle.

The show, which was said to be a gritty crime drama set in a small town, was initially met with high expectations. Brown’s involvement only added to the hype surrounding the series. However, as time went on, it seemed like the project was struggling to find its footing.

Reports surfaced that the show was facing creative differences behind the scenes, with conflicting visions for the direction of the story. Additionally, there were rumors of production delays and scheduling conflicts that were causing further setbacks.

As a result, fans and industry insiders alike began to worry that the show was in danger of being shelved or canceled altogether. Many expressed disappointment that such a promising project was seemingly falling apart before it even had a chance to premiere.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Hulu’s Sterling K. Brown drama, but for now, it seems like the once-anticipated series has gotten lost in the chaos of production. Hopefully, the show can find its way back on track and deliver the compelling storytelling that fans were hoping for.

  • Michael Irvin isn’t happy the Cowboys didn’t hire Deion Sanders: ‘We lost an opportunity here’

The Dallas Cowboys have hired Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach to replace Mike McCarthy, and one famous Cowboys alumnus isn’t happy with the decision.

Michael Irvin, the Hall of Fame wide receiver who spent his entire 12-year career in Dallas, laid into his former team on Saturday in a video posted to his YouTube channel, lamenting their decision to hire someone who was already on staff instead of Irvin’s top choice of Deion Sanders, another Cowboys alumnus.

“Here’s my issue. We lost an opportunity here. I don’t know what happened with Coach Schottenheimer and the Cowboys, but Jerry [Jones, team owner and GM] is a shrewd, shrewd businessman, and this opportunity, I’m shocked he did not see. I was pushing for Deion Sanders to be the next head coach, and I still stand 10 toes down on that push.

“Let me break it down. We have two NFC East teams in the NFC championship game being played tomorrow. All eyes on them. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. Our enemies on all fronts. And they’re in a position that we haven’t held in 30 f***ing years. The longest drought by any NFC East team. Thirty years. … You bring in someone who’s already inside for head coach. You lose things there that you can’t grab back that I’m worried about.

“We’re losing ground in the NFC. … It was time to bring somebody in here that could shake things up and grab this last leg of Cowboys Nation. If we’ve got 30 years right now, and life expectancy is 100 years, that means by math one third of Cowboys Nation has never felt or lived the glory of a championship story. Don’t even know about it. How the hell can they pass something down when they don’t even know about it?

“Worse yet, that generation has seen total domination from a team named the Kansas City Chiefs. Who in that span is running up on winning three in a row. So not only are you losing football games over here and opportunities over here and divisions over here, you’re about to get our moniker snatched off our backs.”

The moniker Irvin speaks of is America’s Team, which the Cowboys earned in the 1990s during their last run of success that included three Super Bowl titles.

Irvin laid out his issues with hiring someone from the inside, focusing on what he believes are problems with team discipline.

“I know what we needed,” Irvin said. “They don’t have curfew. They don’t have discipline. We were fourth in penalties this year. So how you do fix that? … How do you do that when you’re coming from inside?”

Sanders has experienced success as a college coach in Colorado, where he’s been for two seasons, coaching his son, QB Shedeur Sanders, and Heisman winner Travis Hunter, and taking the Buffaloes to a bowl game. Early in the head coach hiring cycle, Sanders expressed interest in the Las Vegas Raiders opening, but nothing came of that (the Raiders recently hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach).

Jones had reportedly spoken to Sanders about the Cowboys’ head coaching job several weeks ago, but Jones decided to go a different way, much to Irvin’s displeasure.

It’s no secret that Michael Irvin bleeds Dallas Cowboys blue, and he’s not afraid to speak his mind when it comes to his beloved team. The Hall of Fame wide receiver recently expressed his disappointment in the Cowboys’ decision not to hire Deion Sanders as their head coach.

In a recent interview, Irvin shared his thoughts on the missed opportunity, saying, “We lost an opportunity here. We lost an opportunity to bring in someone who knows what it takes to win, who knows the game inside and out, and who has a passion for this team like no one else.”

Irvin, who played alongside Sanders during their time in Dallas, knows firsthand the impact Prime Time can have on a team. With Sanders now thriving as the head coach at Jackson State University, many Cowboys fans were hoping he would bring his winning ways back to Dallas.

While the Cowboys ultimately decided to go in a different direction with their coaching search, Irvin can’t help but wonder what could have been with Sanders at the helm. One thing is for sure, the Cowboys may have missed out on a game-changing opportunity by not bringing Prime Time back to Big D.

  • Cowboys legend Michael Irvin calls out Jerry Jones for questionable coaching hire: We lost an opportunity here

If Michael Irvin had been in charge of the coaching search for the Dallas Cowboys, it’s safe to say that he would NOT have selected Brian Schottenheimer, who was hired as the team’s new head coach on Friday night

Irvin took to his YouTube channel on Saturday to talk about the new hire and he definitely did not sound happy about the situation. The former Cowboys star called out Jerry Jones for whiffing on a big opportunity with the hire.

“Here’s my issue: We lost an opportunity here,” Irvin said. “I don’t know what will happen with Coach Schottenheimer and the Dallas Cowboys, but Jerry’s a shrewd, shrewd businessman, and this opportunity, I’m shocked he did not see.”

Irvin pointed out that two NFC East teams will be playing in the NFC Championship on Sunday, which is a round of the playoffs that the Cowboys haven’t made it to since 1995.

“We have two NFC East teams in the NFC Championship game being played [Sunday], all eyes on them,” Irvin said. “The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders, our enemies on all fronts, and they’re in a position that we haven’t held in 30 f—ing years. The longest drought by any NFC East team, period.”

The Commanders did hold the record for longest active drought without appearing in an NFC Championship, but that unfortunate honor now belongs to the Cowboys. Before this year, the Commanders hadn’t made it to the game since 1991. With Washington getting there this year, though, that means every NFC team has made it to the conference title game at least once since 2010, except for the Cowboys.

Due to their ongoing struggles, Irvin says the Cowboys might actually start losing fans.

“They’ve lost a generation of fans,” Irvin said. “That’s 30 damn years. Forty years is a generation. Right here, right now was critical mass. It was time to bring somebody in here that could shake things up and grab this last leg of Cowboys Nation.”

With the Cowboys viewed as “America’s Team,” Jones probably hasn’t been worried about losing fans, but it’s something that he should start taking seriously, according to Irvin.

“If we got 30 years right now, life expectancy is 100 years, that means by math, a third of Cowboys nation has never felt or lived the glory of a championship story, don’t even know about it,” Irvin said. “How the hell can they pass something down if they don’t even know about it? It’s a generation that knows nothing about a championship from the so-called ‘America’s Team’. … And worse yet, that generation has seen total domination from a team named the Kansas City Chiefs.”

With the Chiefs gunning for to make NFL history by becoming the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row, Irvin admitted they might steal the Cowboys’ title of “America’s Team.”

“Not only are you losing football games over here, and opportunities over here, even divisions over here, you’re about to get our moniker snatched off our backs,” Irvin said.

If Irvin had been in charge of the coaching hire, there’s no question who he would have picked: Deion Sanders.

“I was pushing for Deion Sanders to be the next head coach, and I still stand ten toes down on that push,” Irvin said.

Irvin had been pushing for Jones to hire Coach Prime for several months, but Jones clearly didn’t listen to the former Cowboys star.

At the minimum, Irvin wanted to see the Cowboys hire a coach with some actual head coaching experience, which Schottenheimer doesn’t have. The 51-year-old has never been a head coach in the NFL despite 24 years of experience as an assistant coach in the league.

“The Raiders hired Pete Carroll, he had some experience,” Irvin said. “Last time, when we did Mike McCarthy, he had some experience. I got to slap myself and say, ‘Give it a chance, at least they walked the walk already.’ Brian hadn’t walked no walk.”

Irvin isn’t the only former Cowboys receiver who wasn’t thrilled with the hire. Dez Bryant also seemed perplexed by the decision. Shortly after the announcement was made on Friday night, Bryant reacted with four interesting words followed by an “smh.”

When you’re using a word like “sabotage” to describe a coaching hire, that almost certainly means you’re not on board with it, so it’s pretty clear that Bryant would have liked to see the Cowboys go a different route.

With the way that Jones is running things in Dallas, Bryant added that he doesn’t feel like there will be “success anytime soon.”

Bryant, who spent nine seasons in Dallas, knows the organization well, so it’s worth listening to what he has to say and he thinks that Jones needs to modernize his thinking.

He also offered some advice on how that can happen: “Somebody in the organization needs to step up and tell Jerry that the old ways of thinking don’t exist in this new era,” Bryant wrote on X.

Now, if you’re going to rip a coaching decision, it’s only fair that you point out someone who would have been a better candidate and Bryant actually did that BACK IN NOVEMBER. Two months ago, Bryant said that if the Cowboys wanted to turn things around, they needed to “steal” Kliff Kingsbury from the Commanders.

Again, Bryant wrote that in November, and it’s a tweet that looks especially smart now with the Commanders getting set to play in the NFC Championship against the Eagles.

Bryant wanted Kingsbury and Irvin wanted Deion and neither of them wanted Schottenheimer.

So will the Cowboys be able to end their NFC title drought anytime soon? Bryant definitely sounds pessimistic about things at this point. Two weeks ago, he told Cowboys fans they “should not expect success soon,” and with Jones making a coaching hire that Bryant doesn’t seem to agree with, the former receiver probably doesn’t have high expectations for the Cowboys going forward.

In a recent interview, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin expressed his disappointment with owner Jerry Jones’ decision to hire a questionable coach. Irvin, who played for the Cowboys in the 1990s and won three Super Bowls with the team, believes that the team missed out on a great opportunity to hire a more qualified candidate.

“I love Jerry, he’s like a father to me, but I have to be honest here,” Irvin said. “I think we lost an opportunity to bring in someone who could really take this team to the next level. We need a coach who can inspire and lead these players to success, and I’m not sure if this hire is the right fit.”

Irvin went on to say that he hopes Jones will reconsider his decision and make a change if necessary. “I know Jerry wants what’s best for the team, and I trust that he will do whatever it takes to put us in a position to win. But sometimes you have to admit when you’ve made a mistake and make a change for the better.”

It remains to be seen how Jones will respond to Irvin’s comments, but one thing is clear: the Cowboys legend is passionate about his former team and wants to see them succeed. Let’s hope that his words will be taken to heart and that the Cowboys will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a successful season.

  • Baron Corbin Recalls Frustrating Moment With WWE Head Writer: “I Almost Lost It”

Baron Corbin once got frustrated with WWE SmackDown’s head writer.

Last year in November, WWE decided to not renew Baron Corbin’s contract, and the former champion parted ways with the company. However, since then, things have changed. Corbin, now going with Bishop Dyer, recently competed in his first match since the release on January 19, 2025, against Josh Barnett.

One of the top names during his time at the promotion, Corbin has experienced the highest of highs, as well as the lowest of lows creatively. Once, with the most protected finishers, ‘End of Days’, Corbin even went on a not-so-promising run.

An established talent, Corbin, aka Tom Pestock, was also often used to put over talents. Earlier last year, SmackDown brought in Jacob Fatu as a part of Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, showcasing the Samoan Werewolf as a legitimate threat to destroy anyone.

Addressing Fatu’s run, Corbin recalled an incident when he got frustrated with SmackDown’s head writer. Reflecting on the conversation, the former Money In the Bank holder revealed a ‘term’, the writer used, which he was not thrilled to hear. Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, he commented,

“I almost lost it one time. I was so angry, and I don’t get angry that easy over stuff like this. I try not to let people control my emotions. I was sitting with the head writer of SmackDown, and it still makes my blood boil because it doesn’t pertain just to me, but I was like, ‘Do we have any ideas?

What are you thinking creatively?’ He’s like, ‘We have Jacob [Fatu] up and running. We’re going to need bodies for him.’ We’re not bodies. Nobody on this roster is just a body. That was so frustrating to hear. It doesn’t pertain to me, but this is what you think of? I’ve been here 12 years and I’m a body for somebody else?

If you want to say something like that, go, ‘We think you’d be great to help build Jacob. You’d make him look like a monster.’ Let’s go. ‘We’re going to need bodies.’ He’s referring to the bottom half of our roster. It’s so disrespectful to say that about people who go out there and put their life on the line every night. Careers can be ended in an instant. Look at Big E. One suplex wrong and he may never wrestle again. It can end like that. You can end up a quadriplegic; all of these things can happen. It’s your livelihood and how you put food on the table.”

    He further added:

“I’m grateful to have a long career that I don’t have to worry about that. If you’re three years in and just a body and disregarded as not even a human being, in a sense, come on. It takes everybody. Guys who are there to be extras are just as important as talent. Without those guys, we don’t have major superstars.

You need guys that can do that and do it well. That’s harder sometimes than being the top guy when everything is fed to you, and you’re given every opportunity, and you’re built on this pedestal. When you’re the dude clawing at the bottom trying to get there, it’s way harder to be down there and survive and be happy and successful than to be ‘this is our guy and everything funnels to him.’ That’s easy to be up there. The only hard part is the amount of time it takes.

When you’re put on a pedestal, it’s much easier than being a guy fighting for those two or three minutes. To refer to them as bodies….I said something and he was like, ‘I didn’t think of how I said it that way.’”

    H/t Fightful

Away from the promotion now, Baron Corbin has rebranded himself as Bishop Dyer and believes a WWE return cannot be ruled out.

Baron Corbin Opens Up On Missing Raw Premiere Episode

In the same interview, Baron Corbin further opened up on his feelings about missing out on the Netflix premiere on 6th January 2025.

“I was a little bummed I didn’t get to be on Netflix. How cool is that? It’s such a really awesome thing, and things are changing there. I never thought I would see logos on the ring, because it’s been such a historic business of don’t change this, this is the history. We don’t mess with it.

Hunter’s bringing a new light, a new vibe, a new energy and I think it’s going to bring new fans. You’re seeing celebrities. It’s not what it used to be where guys were like, Are you a wrestling fan? Don’t let anybody hear me tell you but did you see Raw last night? Now it’s like, this is cool, man.

This is fun. Stars from [George] Kittle to all these people. [Patrick] Mahomes was at Raw, Bad Bunny is killing it. It’s not like, Hey, we’re bringing these guys in and they have no clue, we’re just gonna pay him to show up. Like, these are people who they know what they’re doing. They know what they’re getting.”

In other news: A recently released WWE star has opened up on her wrestling future.

Baron Corbin Recalls Frustrating Moment With WWE Head Writer: “I Almost Lost It”

In a recent interview, former WWE superstar Baron Corbin opened up about a particularly frustrating moment he experienced with a WWE head writer during his time with the company.

Corbin revealed that during a creative meeting, the head writer had pitched a storyline for him that he felt completely missed the mark. Despite offering his own ideas and suggestions, Corbin felt like his voice was being ignored and dismissed.

“I remember sitting in that meeting, trying to explain why the storyline they had planned for me just didn’t make sense for my character. But it was like talking to a brick wall,” Corbin recalled.

The frustration continued to build as the head writer seemed unwilling to listen to Corbin’s perspective or take his feedback into consideration. “I almost lost it in that moment. I had put so much time and effort into building my character, only to have it thrown aside like it didn’t matter,” Corbin said.

Ultimately, Corbin decided to take matters into his own hands and push for changes to the storyline. While he was able to make some adjustments, the experience left a lasting impact on him.

“It was a tough lesson to learn, but it taught me the importance of standing up for myself and fighting for what I believe in. In the world of WWE, you have to be willing to speak up and advocate for yourself, no matter how frustrating it may be,” Corbin concluded.

The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges and frustrations that can come with working in a high-pressure environment like WWE, but also highlights the importance of staying true to oneself and fighting for what you believe in.

  • Lions have lost five assistant coaches this week

After the Lions blew a 17-point halftime lead in the NFC Championship last year, coach Dan Campbell told the players, “This may have been our only shot.”

A year later, after exiting the playoffs without even getting back to the conference title game, the Lions have real work to do in order to keep Campbell’s prophecy from being fulfilled.

As noted by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have lost five assistant coaches in the six days since losing at home in the divisional round to the Commanders.

Gone are offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, defensive line coach Terrell Williams, receivers coach Antwaan Randle El, and assistant quarterbacks coach J.T. Barrett.

More could eventually go. All will have to be replaced.

Fortunately for the Lions, they had a year to prepare for the potential promotions earned by Johnson and Glenn. The Lions surely won’t wander into the challenge of reloading the coaching staff unprepared.

But things will be very different in 2025. Will they be better? Will they be as good?

The roster still has plenty of talent. Bad luck on the injury front went a long way toward derailing what seemed to be destiny. Still, a franchise that waited decades to become a top dog now must deal with the growing pains associated with contending at a high level.

They have 22 players due to become unrestricted free agents. Other teams — starting with Johnson’s Bears and Glenn’s Jets — could be targeting more than a few of them.

Regardless, the Lions still have quarterback Jared Goff, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, receiver Jameson Williams, running back David Montgomery, tight end Sam LaPorta, and four of the five starting offensive linemen under contract. And defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will return to anchor a defense that, if healthy, should be better than it was in 2024.

Building the current team was harder than maintaining it will be. But maintaining the roster and reshaping the coaching staff become the biggest challenges for a 15-2 team that needed until Week 18 to win the division and then went one-and-out in the postseason.

Add a schedule that includes 11 games against 2024 playoff teams (Vikings twice, Packers twice, Steelers, Buccaneers, at Eagles, at Commanders, at Ravens, at Chiefs, at Rams), two games against Johnson’s Bears, and a trip to Cincinnati, and the 2025 will be a much different experience for the Lions. The overriding question will be whether the next postseason will have a different ending.

The first big hurdle will be getting there.

The Detroit Lions have been hit with a wave of departures this week as five assistant coaches have decided to part ways with the team. This sudden exodus has left many fans wondering what is going on behind the scenes and what impact it will have on the upcoming season.

Among the departing coaches are the offensive coordinator, defensive line coach, and special teams coordinator, all of whom played key roles in the team’s strategies and game planning. Their absence will undoubtedly be felt as the Lions look to bounce back from a disappointing season.

The reasons for the departures have not been made clear, but rumors of disagreements with the coaching staff and front office have been circulating. It remains to be seen how the Lions will fill these vacancies and whether the team will be able to maintain continuity and success moving forward.

As fans anxiously await news of new hires and adjustments to the coaching staff, one thing is certain: the Lions will have their work cut out for them as they navigate this unexpected shakeup. Stay tuned for updates on how the team plans to move forward in the wake of these significant losses.
