  • ‘Silo’ Season 2 Episode 7: Juliette takes a plunge and Lukas views the vault of human history

‘Silo’ Season 2 Episode 7: Juliette takes a plunge and Lukas views the vault of human history

While it was nice to mostly stay put in Silo 18 last week and watch Knox and Shirley storm up the staircase with the Down Deepers to commandeer ten extra floors (plus a food farm!) to prevent being starved out and captured for Meadows’ murder, we missed our favorite platonic post-apocalyptic couple in Silo 17, Juliette and Solo.

Sure, we did visit them for a minute or two to set up “Silo“‘s new chapter titled, “The Dive,” which will have anyone with a morbid fear of deep water running back to watch Frosty the Snowman cartoons before Father Time heralds in the new year.

But first, across the pitted landscape in Silo 18, Bernard pulls back the wizard’s curtain and allows his new shadow, Lukas Kyle, to enter the sacred vault room that’s the gateway to The Legacy. It’s a magnificent repository of cultural artifacts and record of known human history all housed in an elaborate library like a posh European museum. In addition to fine art paintings, leather-bound books, music recordings, glass-domed inventions, photographs, and a model of the solar system, the entire collection is stored digitally and linked to an advanced AI interface.

Behold the human history wonders of The Legacy! (Image credit: Apple TV+)

Key questions are answered here as Bernard explains what The Legacy is and what it contains. He tells Lukas that Silo 18 was built 352 years ago, but beyond that no information is available. It’s implied that Salvador Quinn’s complex letter code contains a secret potentially far more dangerous than a routine silo rebellion, and that it must be unravelled at any cost using the AI.

In the latest episode of Silo, tensions continue to rise as Juliette takes a risky plunge into the unknown. Meanwhile, Lukas makes a startling discovery as he views the vault of human history.

As Juliette finds herself faced with a difficult decision, she must decide whether to trust her instincts or follow the rules. Will she be able to navigate the treacherous waters ahead, or will she face dire consequences?

On the other hand, Lukas delves deeper into the mysteries of the vault of human history, uncovering secrets that could change everything. As he pieces together the puzzle of the past, he must confront the truth of his own existence and the implications it holds for the future.

With the stakes higher than ever, Silo Season 2 Episode 7 promises to be an intense and thrilling ride. Don’t miss out on the action and drama as our characters face their toughest challenges yet. Tune in to see how it all unfolds in this gripping episode of Silo.

  • Tyrese Maxey’s odds of earning massive honor skyrocket after Luka’s injury

Tyrese Maxey’s odds of earning massive honor skyrocket after Luka’s injury

The Philadelphia 76ers are finally starting to make noise. While they certainly do not deserve much accalim given that they still have a lot of ctaching up to do, it would be highly ignorant to simply toss them aside as the biggest disappointment of 2024 without also acknowledging the fact that they are trending in the right direction while overcoming adversity after adversity.

A major catalyst to their much improved play as of late is Tyrese Maxey. Following a slow start to the season just a season after bagging the Most Improved Player award in 2023-24, he is starting to turn his personal campaign around and show everyone why he was expected and poised to make the jump to superstardom.

In his last eight games, Maxey has registered 29.3 points and seven assists per outing on 45.1 percent shooting from the field, including a blistering 41 percent conversion rate from rainbow country on pretty high volume. Even more importantly, even with Joel Embiid back at the helm, Maxey has emerged as the 76ers’ resident closer, carrying the team on his back in clutch situations.

Luka’s injury could allow 76ers star Tyrese Maxey to snag an All-NBA Team berth

Maxey is slowly making his case to make the All-Star team anew on February, but to be quite frank, that is already the floor with him at this point in his career. To legitimize his leap, he has to aim higher, and that necessarily includes making the All-NBA Teams at the end of the season.

The NBA has moved away from positions therein, but nevertheless, Maxey faces pretty stiff competition to make the exlusive team,. Having said that, Luka Doncic, a fixture in the All-NBA Team, has now been effectively disqualified from making it thanks to a calf injury that would sideline him for at least a month, meaning that Maxey will have one less major competitor to worry about.

Of course, it would still take a ton for Maxey to make the list, but there are pathways to make that possible. Catalyzing a big leap from the 76ers in the standings would make for a good start to mount a legitimate bid for a spot, and if he continues to play at the level he has been in recently, he should be in serious consideration to make an All-NBA Team for the first time in his young career.

The Philadelphia 76ers don’t really have the luxury of pondering on individual accolades right now, but getting Tyrese Maxey’s rewarded for his steady ascent would be a nice cherry on top for what could be an eventful season for the franchise.

Recently, the NBA world was shaken by the news of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic suffering an ankle injury that could sideline him for an extended period of time. With Doncic out of the picture, the spotlight has shifted to other young and talented players in the league, including Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Maxey, a rookie guard out of Kentucky, has been turning heads with his impressive performances and clutch plays on the court. With increased playing time and responsibilities in Doncic’s absence, Maxey now has a golden opportunity to showcase his skills and make a strong case for earning a massive honor such as Rookie of the Year.

The odds are now in Maxey’s favor as he continues to make a significant impact for the 76ers, proving that he is more than capable of stepping up in crucial moments. His explosive scoring ability, tenacity on defense, and overall basketball IQ have made him a valuable asset for Philadelphia, and his potential for greatness is undeniable.

As the race for Rookie of the Year heats up, all eyes will be on Tyrese Maxey as he seizes the moment and makes the most of this opportunity to shine. With Luka Doncic sidelined, the stage is set for Maxey to earn a massive honor and solidify his place among the league’s brightest young stars.

  • Lukas Nelson Turns Zach Top’s Viral Hit “I Never Lie” Into Beautiful Piano Ballad, & I Can’t Get Enough

Lukas Nelson Turns Zach Top’s Viral Hit “I Never Lie” Into Beautiful Piano Ballad, & I Can’t Get Enough

I need the studio cut of this ASAP.

Today, Lukas Nelson, shared a cover of  Zach Top’s “I Never Lie,” which has of course become a viral hit this year, and was included on Zach’s 2024 debut album Cold Beer & Country Music. He co-wrote the song with Carson Chamberlain and Tim Nichols, and it was produced by Chamberlain.

“I Never Lie” blew up on TikTok first, and was as viral as a song can be on that app, which led to it becoming the album’s second single. It charted on the Billboard Hot 100 all-genre chart, and has put Top on the quick pathway to becoming one of country music’s most exciting and promising young stars.

Of course, Lukas is the son of the great Willie Nelson, and most recently released an album called Sticks & Stones in 2023. He announced that he and his band Promise of the Real would be on an indefinite hiatus going forward earlier this year, and since then, he’s been teasing some solo stuff on Instagram that I am dying to hear.

I was incredibly sad to hear that he and the band were taking a break, but Lukas is such an amazing talent and I can only hope that means he’s been working on some solo stuff, or even an album, that might be coming in 2025.

He proved his unique artistry once again with this cover, turning twangy boot-stomper into a more slow piano ballad that I can’t get enough of… his vocals are just next level, and it’s hard to imagine this song could be just as good, if not better, than the original, but I have to say, this is beyond good and something few artists could pull off.

Top has an awesome voice too, so in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with either version… but there’s something so striking about this cover with the piano arrangement that gives it an entirely new meaning.

“This song has been stuck in my head for the last month, great tune Zach.”

I think the only thing that could be better is if they sang it together… do yourself a favor and check this out, you’ll be very glad you did:

Zach Top caught the attention of the country music world earlier this year with his debut studio album Cold Beer & Country Music. His throwback sound, timeless voice, and witty songwriting made him a favorite among genre fans. However, fans aren’t the only ones who are listening to the Washington native. Earlier today (December 27), Lukas Nelson posted a cover of Top’s biggest hit “I Never Lie.”

Nelson is no stranger to sharing covers or acoustic performances of his original songs on social media. He’ll often take up his guitar and record a short video for his fans and followers. Today’s cover was a little different. Instead of playing his guitar, Nelson sat down at his piano to deliver a fresh take on the song. “This song has been in my head for the last month. Great tune, [Zach Top],” Nelson wrote in the post’s caption, tagging the “Beer for Breakfast” singer.

Nelson’s cover of “I Never Lie” is nothing short of beautiful. Where the original version is a tongue-in-cheek breakup song in the vein of George Strait’s “Ocean Front Property,” this cover is a powerful piano-driven ballad. Nelson puts his heart and soul into the vocal delivery here.

Lukas Nelson Covers Zach Top’s First Hit Song

Lukas Nelson and Zach Top are both artists who serve as a bridge between classic and modern country. Nelson is the son of Willie Nelson, raised around greats like Kris Kristofferson. He has a wealth of classic country songs in his back pocket.

Top is similar. While he doesn’t have the iconic parentage, he does have a deep knowledge of and respect for classic country music. More importantly, he’s introducing that style to a younger audience.

At the same time, he blends his classic sound with modern sensibilities. For instance, “I Never Lie” was an album track from Cold Beer & Country Music until it went viral on TikTok. Then, Top and his team released it as a single.

“I Never Lie” went to No. 9 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, giving him his first top 10 hit. It also landed at No. 24 on the publication’s Country Airplay chart and No. 58 on the all-genre Hot 100.
