At the start of the 15th week of the fantasy basketball season, let’s look at the top-dropped players.

These players were all taken from the most dropped waiver trends section, which can be found on any FantasySP fantasy basketball page.

Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including waiver pickups, projections, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest of season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant. Use our fantasy basketball trade analyzer and the Trade Value Chart to break down trade scenarios.

    Fantasy Outlook

Kennard is down 7%, bringing his total mark to 37%. His own percentage ebbs and flows depending on how he’s scoring, and after a poor shooting performance over the weekend, Kennard is down several percent.

Kennard was 1-of-7 shooting in his last game. In 21 minutes, he had four points, three assists and one rebound, steal and block.

In the two games before that, Kennard combined for 50 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals – he played 26 minutes off the bench in one game and started and tallied 27 minutes in the other game.

Kennard is simply a streaky shooter, and unless he’s shooting well, you can expect his own percentage to be falling rather than rising or remaining steady. It’s hard to predict what kind of performance he might have, and fantasy owners often prefer to look elsewhere for fantasy help after he delivers a down showing.

For the season, Kennard is averaging 9.8 points, 3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks across 21.7 minutes in 33 games and two starts. He’s shooting 47.8% overall and is 48.7% from behind the 3-point line.

He’s scored over 10 points in 18 contests, with two games over 20 points. Kennard also has nine games under five points scored, so some of his down games are really rough ones.

Kennard needs to be rostered in a decent amount of deeper leagues still, but there’s better options out there for those of you playing in slightly deeper than standard leagues. He can be streamed in most deeper leagues when he’s hot from the floor.

You can try to play matchups, but really, the best course of action with Kennard is to add him after a big scoring performance, as another couple are probably to follow.

    Fantasy Outlook

Anthony has been dropped in 6.5% of leagues and is now rostered in 31% of leagues. He saw his role diminished in his last contest, so you can understand why fantasy owners want to move off him.

After starting or playing at least 26 minutes in nine straight games, Anthony came off the bench and played just 19 minutes in the team’s past game. He missed the two games before that.

For the season, Anthony is averaging 8.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks across 16.3 minutes in 42 games and eight starts. Those numbers aren’t special, and he boosted them while starting and getting more minutes of late.

Orlando got a bit healthier in the past week, and it seems to have knocked Anthony back into his reserve role. He’s still contributing enough at his season averages to own and start in some deeper leagues, but he probably should be owned in less leagues than his current own percentage.

I’d keep Anthony on your watch list in case his role changes again, or if the Magic shakeup their roster and it gets Anthony into a better role. Right now though, I think Anthony’s own percentage should continue to fall, and think he should only be rostered in around 20% of leagues, at most.

    Fantasy Outlook

Yabusele is down 6.1% and sitting at 43% overall. He continues to play a big enough role because of so many injuries in Philadelphia, but some poor performances of late has him being dropped.

Over the past four games, Yabusele has scored in single figures twice. He was 3-of-10 shooting in his last game, but still had six rebounds and four rebounds to be a decent fantasy asset.

Until the Sixers get healthy, which honestly I don’t think happens consistently all season, Yabusele is worth rostering and playing in a good amount of deeper leagues. He averages 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks across 26.1 minutes in 42 games and 20 starts this season. That’s enough production to utilize him in a few leagues.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Sixers looked to sell high on Yabusele. He hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2018-19 season, but a contending team in need of another big man could definitely be intrigued by Yabusele. His role might diminish a bit on a new team, but a better team around him might also help him be more efficient and a pretty solid fantasy player still.

I’d drop him in standard leagues and any deeper leagues that are only slightly deeper than standard ones. He still has enough value to roster in 40% of leagues or so, as long as his numbers don’t fall off consistently.

    Fantasy Outlook

Jerome was dropped in 5.3% of leagues and now has an own mark of 30%. He’s had a wild couple of box scores of late, but a bad showing in his last game has fantasy owners ready to move on.

Jerome had just six points, four rebounds and three assists across 18 minutes in the team’s most recent game. He shot 1-of-8 in that game. Jerome was 11-of-14 shooting the night before, tallying 33 points, three rebounds and assists and two steals.

Jerome isn’t going to score 30 points a night, but he’s averaging 10.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals across 8.3 minutes in 42 games and two starts this season. The scoring and other few averages he owns are solid enough to roster him in a decent amount of deeper leagues. You could also stream Jerome when a couple regular Cavalier contributors are out for a game.

His own percentage should hover around that 30% most of the season, probably not dipping below 25% or going over 40% ever. Jerome is a player to keep tabs on in case a big-time Cleveland player were ever to go down.

    Fantasy Outlook

Pippen is down 5% and sits at 33% overall now. He’s struggled to score of late, and that’s probably the biggest reason behind him being dropped.

Pippen scored 13 points on January 24, but is averaging 4.9 points over the past nine games. In 16.6 minutes over that stretch, Pippen owns other averages of 2.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals.

His averages in rebounds, assists and steals aren’t too shabby, but if he can’t even average five points a game, there’s no point in rostering Pippen outside really deep leagues and dynasties. There has to be some better options out there on the waiver wire.

His season averages of 9.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.3 blocks across 21.6 minutes in 46 games and 16 starts are much more respectable. I’d put Pippen on my watch list if you decide to drop him, or he gets dropped in your league.

He might heat up again later in the season, at which point he could be worth adding and playing for several weeks at a time. Right now though, there’s not many leagues I’d want to start Pippen in – if you aren’t ready to drop him, don’t be afraid to just bench him for a while.

  • Katy Perry in touch with Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie after ‘American Idol’

Katy Perry confirmed she stays in touch with her fellow “American Idol” judges, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, after quitting the show last year.

“I miss them so much,” the “Firework” singer said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday. “I do, actually. Hi, Luke! Hi, Lionel!”

When Jimmy Kimmel asked Perry, 40, whether Bryan, 48, and Richie, 75, were “still reaching out” to her, she replied, “Yeah, of course. Of course. All the time.”

That said, the Grammy nominee acknowledged the pair “probably have a new text chain” with Carrie Underwood, who will join the judging panel for the ABC singing competition’s upcoming season.

“I think it’s perfect,” she shared of the “Before He Cheats” singer, 41, being named her replacement.

Perry even went so far as to promote “Idol” despite no longer being on it, telling viewers, “It’s coming out in March, so you gotta watch!”

The pop star announced on “Kimmel” in February 2024 that she was leaving the series after seven seasons to embark on her “Lifetimes” tour, which kicks off its US leg in May.

The news came on the heels of Perry receiving backlash from some viewers for harshly judging contestants in early 2023, which a source reminded Page Six was simply part of “her job” as “a mentor.”

“Katy isn’t fazed by the backlash,” the insider shared at the time, noting that the “Teenage Dream” performer “has a unique sense of humor that may not always translate well on camera, but she never has any ill intent.”

ABC later revealed that Season 4 winner Underwood, who sang at President Trump’s inauguration earlier this month, will take Perry’s seat.

“As a former ‘Idol’ and dynamic musical force, she brings a remarkably unique perspective to one of the most popular shows on television. This is a full-circle moment,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich said in a statement in August 2024.

“American Idol” Season 23 premieres Sunday, March 9, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Katy Perry stays in touch with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie after ‘American Idol’ as they continue their friendship beyond the show. The trio formed a close bond while serving as judges on the popular singing competition and have remained connected even after the cameras stopped rolling.

From sharing updates on their personal lives to discussing their favorite music, Katy, Luke, and Lionel have maintained a strong connection post-‘American Idol’. Fans are thrilled to see their favorite judges staying in touch and supporting each other in their respective careers.

Whether it’s catching up over a video call or sending each other funny memes, it’s clear that the camaraderie between Katy, Luke, and Lionel is genuine and long-lasting. Their friendship is a true testament to the lasting impact of their time together on ‘American Idol’.

  • Luke Kornet has hilarious reaction to Quentin Grimes dunking on him in Celtics-Mavs – NBC Sports Boston

The Dallas Mavericks fell to the Boston Celtics in a 2024 NBA Finals rematch Saturday at the American Airlines Center, but Mavs guard Quentin Grimes did produce one of the best dunks of the season.

And unfortunately for Celtics backup center Luke Kornet, it came at his expense.

Grimes posterized Kornet with a thunderous one-handed slam in the final 30 seconds of the third quarter. The dunk brought the crowd, and the Mavericks bench, to their feet.

It was actually the NBA’s highest-graded dunk of the season so far.

What does Kornet think of the dunk and its high score? He responded with typical Kornet humor during an exclusive interview with NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin.

“Obviously, dunk score is a very crucial element to our game,” Kornet said with a smile, as seen in the video player above.

“What do I think (of the dunk)? You know, they say humility is the virtue of knowing God is the author of all good things, and he made Quentin Grimes well. Because that boy — he’s got some quick twitch, as they say. Frankly, when someone has an opportunity to display their athleticism, it’s on me to try to combat that, and sometimes you end up on the defeated side of the endeavor and you have to willfully accept it.

So kudos to him. It was a great jump, great dunk.”

The Celtics were still up by 20 points after the dunk, but Kornet isn’t the type of person to respond by pointing to the scoreboard.

“Yeah, but the thing is, you don’t want to kind of go the whole ‘scoreboard’ route because then it undermines like, hey, no, that happened. You don’t want to try to back out of it,” Kornet explained. “You accept the things that happen.”

Kornet deserves credit for at least challenging the dunk. A lot of players in his situation would have made what is commonly referred to as a “business decision” and just let Grimes dunk without any resistance.

“The business decision is always to do the thing that you think helps the other team score less and your team score more,” Kornet said. “I was a little late on that one, which happens. And then he got to my body before I was able to kind of get to his, which was sort of the problem.

“I mean, you can break it down in a lot of ways. The dunk score obviously shows all this.”

Kornet played well against the Mavericks with two points, five assists and a team-high 10 rebounds during the Celtics’ 122-107 win in Dallas.

Next up for the Celtics is a matchup with the Rockets on Monday night at TD Garden. The C’s beat the Rockets in Houston on Jan. 3. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston.

  • Luke Bryan Befriends Singer After 7 Unsuccessful Tryouts for ‘Idol’

Though singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson has become one of the hottest country stars on the planet, it wasn’t long ago she was striving to get noticed in Nashville and auditioning seven times for “American Idol.”

Now, nearly four years after finally scoring her first Billboard country music hit with “Things a Man Oughta Know,” one of the cool twists of fate for Wilson has been the close friendship she’s forged with “Idol” judge Luke Bryan, she told CMT’s Cody Alan on January 25, 2025.

Shortly after performing on the season 21 “Idol” finale with Jelly Roll in May 2023, Wilson told Country Countdown USA, “I finally made it on ‘American Idol. I tried out 7 times. I took the long way around, but finally made it on ‘American Idol.’ I never made it through. I never made it past the first round.”

But Wilson’s getting last laugh, from winning the 2024 Grammy for Best Country Album to her friendship with Bryan, who was shocked to learn the show had passed her up so many times.

Lainey Wilson Says Luke Bryan Will Now Answer Her Calls at Any Hour

Though Wilson never got a callback from “Idol” producers while she was striving to hit it big, she said Bryan will now answer her calls at any time. During an interview on “CMT Hot 20,” as seen in the above clip, she told host Cody Alan that she has forged a special connection with the country superstar.

“Luke has become a dear friend of mine, he really has,” Wilson told Alan. “He’s a cheerleader of mine, and he’s somebody I could go to — I could call him and it does not matter what time of day and he would answer the phone. He’s a good dude.”

Over the last several months, the country stars have spent a good deal of time together, first co-hosting the 2024 CMA Awards with Bryan and Peyton Manning. They were also both part of CBS’ New Year’s Eve countdown show that former “Idol” judge Keith Urban hosted in Nashville, and in mid-January, Wilson was part of Bryan’s 10th annual Crash My Playa music festival in Mexico.

But in addition to getting close with Wilson, Bryan has also become good friends with her boyfriend, former NFL player Delvin “Duck” Hodges.

“I mean, anytime I’ve been around Lainey,” Bryan told ABC News Radio in November, “she’s just kind of one of the boys and one of the girls, you know? She’s just a great person to be around and (I’ve started) to spend a little more time with her boyfriend, Duck. He and I, we chat a couple of times a week. So, yeah, we’re all family now.”

Luke Bryan Admits ‘We Don’t Always Get It Right’ on ‘Idol’

When Bryan, who’s been a judge on “Idol” since 2018, learned that Wilson was rejected seven times by “Idol” producers before her rise to fame, he was shocked.

In November 2023, Bryan told Country Countdown USA, “I didn’t know that. That was the first time I heard that, but I’ll go see my producers today and find out what happened! I’m glad she didn’t take the ‘Idol’ letdown to heart. It also shows we don’t always get it right.”

Wilson told Country Countdown USA that she also tried out for “The Voice,” with no success, but insisted, “I’m grateful my story ended the way that it did.”

In May 2023, the “Heart Like a Truck” hitmaker told People, “I’ve known that this is my calling, and there’s nothing else that I want to do, that I can do. I’ve always just been like, ‘No plan B, this is it.’ I feel like that time that I’ve had to prepare, I don’t know… If it happened when I wanted it to, I don’t know that I would have been ready.”

Country music star Luke Bryan has proven once again that he’s not just a talented musician, but also a kind-hearted friend. After witnessing a singer audition for ‘American Idol’ seven times without success, Bryan decided to step in and offer his support.

The singer, who has not been named, had been trying out for the popular singing competition for years without making it past the initial rounds. Feeling discouraged and ready to give up on his dream, he crossed paths with Bryan at a local music event.

Moved by the singer’s determination and passion for music, Bryan struck up a conversation and quickly realized that this aspiring artist had a unique talent that deserved to be recognized. Determined to help him achieve his dreams, Bryan took the singer under his wing and offered to mentor him.

Since then, the two have been working together to fine-tune the singer’s skills and prepare him for his next audition. With Bryan’s guidance and support, the singer is feeling more confident than ever and is ready to give ‘American Idol’ another shot.

Luke Bryan’s act of kindness and friendship serves as a reminder that success in the music industry is not just about talent, but also about having the right support system. We can’t wait to see this talented singer shine on the ‘American Idol’ stage, thanks to Luke Bryan’s friendship and mentorship.

  • Amateurs Luke Clanton, Jackson Koivun make cut Farmers Insurance Open

    The kids are alright.

On Friday at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, amateurs Luke Clanton and Jackson Koivun made the cut. There were among the 70 golfers who have advanced to the final two rounds at Torrey Pines.

The PGA Tour notes that it’s “the first time in the last 55 years that two amateurs have made the cut at this event in a single year.”

Clanton is a junior at Florida State and Koivun is a sophomore at Auburn. By virtue of making the cut, they are both one step closer to securing status on the PGA Tour. When they each decide to turn pro remains to be seen but they now have 18 points in the PGA Tour University Accelerated program, which awards Tour cards for collegiate amateurs. The magic number is 20 and a recent rule change might make it so each gets there by the event’s conclusion Saturday evening as a top-five finish would mean two more points.

3 days agoLuke Clanton is set to make his debut at the Farmers Insurance Open when he tees it up at Torrey Pines this week. His first start of the 2025 season was two weeks ago at the Sony Open, where he missed the cut. Despite having played only one event in 2025, Clanton currently ranks 17th in par-5 scoring average. He will need to maintain this performance to have a chance this week. Clanton might go under the radar, but he could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups.Ian Christenson – RotoBaller

Luke Clanton, a rising star in the world of golf, made his debut at the Farmers Insurance Open this past weekend. The 15-year-old amateur golfer impressed fans and fellow players alike with his skill and composure on the course.

Clanton, who hails from Miami, Florida, shot a 2-over-par 74 in his first round at Torrey Pines Golf Course. While he may not have made the cut to play on the weekend, his performance was nothing short of impressive for someone so young.

Many are already comparing Clanton to other young golf prodigies like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, and it’s clear that he has a bright future ahead of him in the sport.

Keep an eye out for Luke Clanton as he continues to make waves in the world of golf. This is just the beginning for this talented young player.
