  • Hulk Hogan Pulls Out Of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (WWE News)

    Hulk Hogan
    WWE

Hulk Hogan will not be appearing on tomorrow’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show despite featuring heavily in promotional materials for it.

Dr. Chris Featherstone broke the news earlier today, writing on X:

“I’ve been informed that Hulk Hogan will not be appearing on #SNME due to family commitments.”

Featherstone’s report has been corroborated by the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.

While there’s no word on what Hogan was scheduled to do at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he had featured prominently in SNME commercials during the build.

This news comes just two weeks after Hogan was booed heavily during an appearance on Raw’s 6 January Netflix premiere. Hulk was on the show with manager Jimmy Hart, tasked with hyping the crowd up while promoting his Real American Beer brand. Things backfired spectacularly when the Los Angeles crowd immediately bombarded Hogan with negativity. When the 71-year-old clocked this and tried to turn the reaction around, he called the fans his greatest tag team partner ever and thanked them for always sticking with him. The crowd responded by jeering even louder.

Maybe this was a consequence of WWE’s new, young audience rejecting an old man they know primarily as the guy who repeatedly said the N-word on a leaked sex tape 10 years ago. Who knows?

Hogan’s name came up on this week’s Raw, too, with CM Punk going after him while cutting a promo on the upcoming Royal Rumble. “You put Hulk Hogan in the Royal Rumble, I’ll throw his dusty ass over the top rope and I’ll kill Hulkamania once and for all,” said Punk.

Meltzer wrote that WWE sources confirmed the news. He noted that, as Featherstone stated, a family-related situation was the reason why. Hogan missing the show has nothing to do with the way that he was booed at the WWE RAW on Netflix premiere.

  • Report: Hulk Hogan will not be at Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is virtually synonymous with the company’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, the latest iteration of which just debuted in primetime on NBC last month. Hogan was not at the Dec. 14 show in New York, but he was featured in promotion for the SNME coming our way from San Antonio, Texas tomorrow night (Jan. 25).

The company allegedly still planned to use Hogan this weekend even after he was loudly booed during his appearance at Raw’s Jan. 6 premiere on Netflix from Los Angeles. That may have actually been a good draw — “tune in to see if Texas boos the admitted racist too!” — but we won’t get to find out.

On social media this afternoon, Dr. Chris Featherstone was the first to report that the Hulkster won’t be on this Saturday Night’s Main Event due to “family commitments”. That’s now been confirmed by Dave Meltzer’s “sources within WWE”.

    For Wrestling Observer, Meltzer writes:

Featherstone’s report of a family-related reason for Hogan missing the show is also accurate. This had nothing to do with his being booed in Los Angeles or at every arena where the Saturday Night’s Main Event commercial played, or Jesse Ventura or any other reason in that direction.

The last-minute nature of the move lends some credence to Hogan’s absence being a family matter, but you don’t need to be as cynical as I am to wonder if the booing didn’t have a little more than nothing to do with it. We’ll see when WWE decides to trot Hulk’s “dusty ass” (CM Punk’s words… which I’m as okay with as his bosses apparently were) out again so we can find out if it was just a blue state issue or not (SPOILER ALERT: It’s not).

In the meantime, maybe the San Antonio crowd can entertain themselves with a song. Something like, “When it comes crashing down and a family commitment pops up…”*

    * Credit or blame for this line goes to the living legend M. G0mez.

Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that wrestling legend Hulk Hogan will not be appearing at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Fans were eagerly anticipating his return to the ring, but it seems that other commitments have prevented him from participating in the event.

Despite this disappointment, there are still plenty of exciting matches to look forward to at Saturday Night’s Main Event. With top stars from WWE and other promotions set to square off, the show promises to be a must-watch for wrestling fans.

While we may not see Hulk Hogan in action this time around, there is always a chance that he could make a surprise appearance in the future. In the meantime, let’s show our support for the wrestlers who will be competing on Saturday Night’s Main Event and enjoy the show!

    WWE

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event returns to primetime. World heavyweight champion Gunther, undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes and women’s world champ Rhea Ripley are all present for the second edition of the modern era.

Saturday Night’s Main Event was revived in December after a 16-year absence from WWE programming. The revival is part of a quarterly deal between WWE and NBC to bring the show to prime time. This weekend’s main event is expected to be Jey Uso challenging “The Ring General” Gunther for the world heavyweight title. Uso’s relatives Jacob Fatu and Nia Jax are also on the card.

Also featured on Saturday night is a contract signing between Rhodes and title challenger Kevin Owens. SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis announced an addendum that needs signing ahead of their ladder match at the Royal Rumble. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will mediate the contract signing. Michaels will also collect the undisputed WWE and retired Winged Eagle titles at stake.

Look below at the confirmed Saturday Night’s Main Event matches. Saturday Night’s Main Event airs live on NBC and Peacock on Jan. 25 with the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET.

2025 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event matches

World Heavyweight Championship — Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso: The build to this world title program is straightforward. Uso challenged Gunther and Gunther accepted. Gunther repeatedly downplayed Uso’s merits as a title challenger, but Uso sent Gunther reeling during a brawl on the Jan. 20 episode of WWE Raw.

Intercontinental Championship — Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus: Sheamus is a surefire WWE Hall of Famer, but there’s one accolade hanging over his head. Sheamus has never won the intercontinental title and has fallen short for years. Breakker suggested it’s time for Sheamus to retire, but “The Celtic Warrior” has no intention to do so before collecting his final prize.

Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu: Strowman crossed paths with The Bloodline soon after returning from injury. Strowman has loosely aligned himself with LA Knight and Sami Zayn to take on The Bloodline. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, behemoths Strowman and Fatu battle.

Women’s World Championship — Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax: Jax attacked Ripley at the beginning of Monday Night Raw on Jan. 20. Ripley bounced back later that night and put hands on her rival. A fighting champion, Ripley challenged Jax with Ripley’s title on the line.

Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens contract signing: While it won’t be a match, there’s sure to be fireworks when the two are in the ring on Saturday night. Shawn Michaels will serve as mediator as the two sign on for their ladder match at the Royal Rumble. Every time these two have seen each other has resulted in some sort of brawl. The key hook to Saturday night is that Micheals is charged with collecting both the undisputed WWE title and the retired Winged Eagle title from both men. Be on the look out for some wildness to close the show.

  • Hulk Hogan not appearing at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend

Sources within WWE have confirmed that Hulk Hogan will not be appearing as scheduled for Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow night in San Antonio.

This was first reported by Chris Featherstone. Hogan had been the key person in all the commercials for the show.

Featherstone’s report of a family-related reason for Hogan missing the show is also accurate. This had nothing to do with his being booed in Los Angeles or at every arena where the Saturday Night’s Main Event commercial played, or Jesse Ventura or any other reason in that direction.

Frost Bank Center in San Antonio is hosting Saturday’s show, which will air live on NBC and Peacock starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (January 25) —

    • World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defends against Jey Uso
    • Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley defends against Nia Jax
    • Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker defends against Sheamus
    • Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu
    • Shawn Michaels will be the special enforcer for a Royal Rumble contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens

I’m sorry to disappoint all the Hulk Hogan fans out there, but it looks like the wrestling legend will not be making an appearance at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend. Despite rumors circulating online about his possible return to the ring, it seems that Hogan will not be stepping foot in the squared circle for this event.

While it’s always exciting to see Hogan in action, it’s important to remember that he is no longer an active wrestler and has been focusing on other ventures in recent years. So, for those hoping to catch a glimpse of the iconic wrestler at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it looks like you’ll have to wait for another time. But don’t worry, there will surely be plenty of other exciting matches and moments to look forward to at the event.

  • Hulk Hogan To Miss WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event On January 25

WWE fans may be excited for tomorrow’s upcoming installment of ‘WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event” but any hoping to catch WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan are going to be out of luck. As reported by insider Dr. Chris Featherstone on X, formerly Twitter, the Hulkster will not be in attendance for the San Antonio, Texas, edition of “WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event” January 25. While it may be natural to assume this change came as a result of the disastrous showing during the most recent installment of “SNME,” which saw Hogan booed by the Los Angeles crowd during a promotional segment for his Real American Beer, he is instead going to miss the show owing to “family commitments.”

Wrestling Inc. can confirm, this report, based on info from a source within WWE. While Featherstone’s report on may lack details, it’s not difficult to suss out the specifics of the scenario; just turn to social media. Fans likely know that Hogan, (real name Terry Bollea), has a daughter, Brooke, who appeared on his reality show, “Hogan Knows Best” in the early 2000s. Brooke Bollea recently announced giving birth to twin daughters with her husband, returned NHL defenseman Steven Oleksy, which undoubtedly is the reason behind Hulk Hogan’s decision to cancel his appearance.

Unfortunately, WWE fans will be disappointed to hear that Hulk Hogan will be missing Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 25. The wrestling legend has been a mainstay in the WWE for decades, but due to unforeseen circumstances, he will not be able to participate in this highly anticipated event. Fans will surely miss seeing the iconic wrestler in action, but we wish Hulk Hogan a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the ring soon. Stay tuned for updates on his return to the WWE!

  • Hulk Hogan vs. Jesse Ventura: Is a showdown coming at Saturday Night’s Main Event? (UPDATE)

UPDATE: It appears that a potential face-off between Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura will have to wait for another day. Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda is reporting that Hogan will not be appearing at Satuday Night’s Main Event. Said Featherstone on X, “I’ve been informed that Hulk Hogan will not be appearing on #SNME due to family commitments.”

The original story appears below, which highlights the issues between Hogan and Ventura.

CM Punk is prepared to win the Royal Rumble and says no one can stop him, not even a certain WWE Hall of Famer, brother.

“You put Hulk Hogan in the Royal Rumble, I’ll throw his dusty ass over the top rope, and I’ll kill Hulkamania once and for all,” said Punk this past Monday on Raw.

Hogan’s chances of appearing in the Rumble are slim, but if he crosses paths with an old rival this weekend, there may be nothing left of the Hulkster for Punk.

Jesse Ventura announced on X that he is returning to Saturday Night’s Main Event. Said Ventura, “So very excited for Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend in San Antonio. The Body returns to Texas this Saturday Night!”

Earlier this month, there was a report stating Hogan was expected to appear on the Saturday night special after missing its return to television last month. While WWE hasn’t made an official announcement, Hogan has been prominently featured in the show’s advertising.

Speaking on the possibility of Hogan and Ventura appearing on the same show, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio, “All I know is the last I heard, which was the day of San Jose, was (Ventura) was on. He was told he’s on all the shows in 2025. So if he’s off, it’s a detail within the last week and a half. They didn’t push him, but he was told he’s on every show. It was definitely pointed out to me that him and Hogan are going to be on the same show.”

Hogan and Ventura were once friends. However, their relationship soured when Ventura, suing WWE owner Vince McMahon for unpaid royalties, discovered that Hogan had informed McMahon about Ventura’s attempt to unionize wrestling. During a deposition, Ventura’s attorney asked McMahon how he learned about Ventura’s plan.

“With no hesitation, Vince went Hulk Hogan, ‘Told me.’ And I didn’t show any emotion, but I almost tipped over in the chair because he was my friend,” said Ventura in a 2015 interview with Graham Bensinger.

The last time Hogan and Ventura worked together was briefly in 1994 when Hogan debuted in WCW. Ventura’s attitude changed upon Hogan’s arrival, according to Eric Bischoff, who was running WCW at the time. That, among other issues, led to Ventura’s separation from the company.

“I got along fine with Jesse until Hogan came in,” said Bischoff. ”Once we brought Hogan in and we made that commitment, there was just negativity or resentment or something that made him miserable to be around.”

It will be interesting to see what stories come out this weekend should Hogan and Ventura cross paths. Something else to watch for is how the crowd reacts to both men. In the 1980s, fans cheered a babyface Hogan and booed the villainous Ventura. However, times have changed, with Hogan recently getting booed out of the building during Raw’s Netflix debut.

What do you think will happen if Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura come face-to-face, Cagesiders? What would you like to see go down? Sound off in the comments section.

UPDATE: It looks like a showdown between Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura may be imminent at Saturday Night’s Main Event! The two wrestling legends have been exchanging heated words on social media, with Ventura challenging Hogan to a match to settle their long-standing rivalry once and for all.

Fans are buzzing with excitement at the prospect of seeing these two icons face off in the ring, and many are already speculating about who will come out on top in what is sure to be an epic battle.

Stay tuned for more updates as this rivalry continues to heat up, and don’t miss Saturday Night’s Main Event for what could be the match of the century!
