Wide receiver Malik Nabers (toe) returned to practice Friday and was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) was also limited, but received no game status on the injury report. The two rookies have combined for 1,955 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns.
Despite missing two games with a concussion, Nabers enters the season’s final two weeks with 97 catches for 969 yards. He needs three receptions to join Steve Smith (107 receptions in 2009) and Odell Beckham, Jr. (101 in 2016) as the only players in Giants history to reach the century mark. Nabers is fifth in the NFL in receptions. He needs 69 yards for the 26th 1,000-yard season in Giants history.
Nabers has already sailed past the previous Giants’ rookie record of 91 catches, which had been held jointly by Saquon Barkley and Beckham. Even if he plays the final two games, he is unlikely to exceed the latter’s team rookie yardage record of 1,305 yards.
But Nabers, who averaged 7.5 catches a game, needs nine receptions in the final two games to exceed the NFL rookie record of 105 set by the Rams’ Puka Nacua last season. But Nacua’s mark could fall before Nabers would reach it, because Las Vegas rookie tight end Brock Bowers has 101 receptions, which puts him in a three-way tie for second in the league.
Meanwhile, Tracy has 984 scrimmage yards (721 rushing and 263 receiving) and joins Nabers to form the first pair of Giants rookies to each have 900+ scrimmage yards. They can become just the third duo in NFL history to each have 1,000 yards from scrimmage.
Exciting news for fans of the LSU Tigers! Wide receiver Malik Nabers has been cleared to play in the upcoming game. After dealing with a minor injury, Nabers is back and ready to make a big impact on the field. With his speed and agility, he is sure to be a key player in the offense. Get ready to see Nabers in action and cheer on the Tigers as they take on their next opponent. #GeauxTigers #MalikNabers #LSUFootball

Malik Nabers Injury Update: Status vs. Colts in Week 17
New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a knee injury during practice this week, casting doubt on his availability for the team’s crucial Week 17 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
Nabers, who has emerged as a key contributor in the Saints’ passing game in recent weeks, was seen limping off the field during Thursday’s practice. The extent of his injury is still unknown, but early reports suggest that it could be serious enough to keep him out of Sunday’s game.
The Saints will surely miss Nabers’ speed and playmaking ability if he is unable to suit up against the Colts. However, the team’s depth at the wide receiver position may help to soften the blow, with players like Tre’Quan Smith and Lil’Jordan Humphrey ready to step up in his absence.
As of now, Nabers’ status for Sunday’s game remains uncertain, but fans are hopeful that he will be able to recover in time to contribute to the team’s playoff push. Stay tuned for further updates on his condition as game day approaches.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. practiced Friday for the first time this week, and there seems to be a good chance both are active Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium.
Nabers is officially listed as questionable with a toe injury. Tracy was not given an injury designation for Sunday’s game, meaning he has been cleared to play. Both were officially listed as limited participants in practice.
Coach Brian Daboll said before Friday’s practice that he was “hopeful” both would be ready for Sunday’s game against the Colts. Nabers was on the field moving without any noticeable limitations during the early part of practice open to the media.
It didn’t look all that promising earlier in the week.
Nabers, the sixth pick in this year’s draft, is just 31 receiving yards from reaching 1,000 for the season. His 97 receptions also lead the Giants, and his 155 targets are tops in the NFL despite Nabers having missed two games earlier this season because of a concussion.
“Any opportunity I have to go out there on the football field and play with my brothers, whether I’m nicked up or not,” said Nabers, who has played through injury throughout the second half of the season. “I know a lot of guys are battling a lot of injuries in the facility and in the building right now — they still continue to go out there and ball.
“I’m going to be right there with those guys if I can and continue to go out there with those guys and ball out.”
New York (2-13) is looking to snap a franchise-record 10-game skid on Sunday. It also is trying to avoid being the first team in NFL history to finish 0-9 at home in a season.
Tracy, a fifth-round pick out of Purdue, has 721 yards rushing in 15 games and 10 starts. He’s 16 yards shy of reaching 1,000 total yards from scrimmage as a rookie.
While Nabers and Tracy look likely to be on the field in Week 17, starting center John Michael Schmitz (ankle), middle linebacker Micah McFadden (neck), cornerback Greg Stroman Jr. (shin/shoulder) and safety Raheem Layne (knee) were ruled out for Sunday.
The New York Giants received some encouraging news on the injury front as rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers returned to practice on Wednesday. Nabers had been dealing with a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for the past few weeks, but he was able to participate in individual drills and team periods during practice.
In addition to Nabers’ return, veteran wide receiver Tyrone Tracy was cleared to play after missing the previous game with a shoulder injury. Tracy’s presence will provide a boost to the Giants’ receiving corps, as he has been a reliable target for quarterback Daniel Jones this season.
Head coach Joe Judge expressed optimism about both players’ availability for the upcoming game, praising their work ethic and dedication to rehabbing their injuries. With Nabers back on the field and Tracy cleared to play, the Giants’ offense should receive a significant boost as they look to secure a crucial win in their playoff push.
The veteran sharpshooter started 77 games for the contending Milwaukee Bucks last year, and knocked down 41.3% of his 3-point tries. Since drafting Cade Cunningham in 2021, the Pistons had struggled to adequately surround him with shooting. Beasley was one of the best options on the market, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $6 million.
Beasley’s impact on Cunningham — and the Pistons as a whole — has been immediate and positive. Through the first third of the season, he’s on pace to set the franchise’s single-season record for made 3. And he has given Cunningham a bona fide off-ball threat, helping the fourth-year guard emerge as one of the league’s preeminent playmakers and put together his best campaign so far.
As a hobby, Beasley livestreams himself playing “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” on his Twitch channel. Cunningham has joined him a few times. When the two team up on the basketball court, the Pistons outscore opposing teams by 6.8 points per 100 possessions, according to Cleaning The Glass.
Whether that chemistry is being developed on or off the court, both players have benefitted from each other’s presence.
“We’re also growing off the court,” Beasley said. “I don’t know if you guys know, he’s been joining my streams and stuff like that and we’ve gone to dinner a few times this season. The chemistry is there. I think his IQ is what separates him from a lot of different point guards, and for me to have been in this league for a long time, I know when he’s about to get busy, I know when I’ve gotta cut, I know if I’ve gotta move a little to the right or to the left so he can pass it to me and give him the outlet in case he doesn’t have his strong side.
“Each night is different also. If Cade comes into the game scoring six straight points, I know he’s going to be aggressive right now. I have to do other things for him. I’m really good at reading the game and understanding who’s not and who’s not, what we need to be doing and just focusing on that.”
Focusing, indeed: Beasley has launched 3-pointers at a prolific rate, with a high percentage of 41.1% justifying the volume.
Entering Saturday’s game against the Suns in Phoenix, Beasley ranked second in the NBA in made 3-pointers (106) and was also second in 3-point attempts (258), behind only Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum and LaMelo Ball, who were tied at 262.
No Piston in franchise history has made more 3s through 28 games in a season. (Tobias Harris is second, knocking down 75 over that span in 2017-18.)
After receiving a pass from Cunningham, Beasley has knocked down 45.3% of his 3’s — the highest clip of any player Cunningham has played with. The veteran knows how to make himself available when teams try to trap Cunningham, making teams pay when they fail to close out in time.
Last season, Bojan Bogdanovic (41.7%) was Cunningham’s only teammate to crack at least 37% from 3 off his passes (among those with at least 30 attempts). Simone Fontecchio was second, shooting 36.4%.
Outside of Bogdanovic, Cunningham just hasn’t played with many knockdown shooters.
“Our play styles definitely compliment each other,” Cunningham said of Beasley. “He’s a movement shooter. I’m a creator. You have two guys that stylistically fit. It’s just about off-the-court, how well you get along, how well you can work on your game with each other. I think we’ve done a great job of that. He’s one of the greatest guys in this locker room. He’s brought so much energy to us since he got here. So that and just the way that he can shoot the ball, the fact that he shoots it at that high of a clip, it’s easy to play with him.”
Beasley headlines the best cast of shooters Cunningham has yet been surrounded by. Four players are knocking down a high percentage of 3-pointers off of his passes — Beasley, Jaden Ivey (40.5%), Harris (39%) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (38.5%). That quartet also ranks at the top of the roster in in 3-point attempts, a key reason Cunningham has racked up career-high assist totals.
Cunningham’s 9.6 assists per game mark his career high and ranks third in the NBA, behind only Nikola Jokic (9.8) and Trae Young (12.2). He had double-digit assists in 12 of 17 games entering Saturdayt, including career-highs of 14, 15 and 18 in a four-game span.
Cunningham has never had better weapons. Beasley has stepped into a primary scoring role, despite coming off of the bench, and has made everyone’s life easier as a result. Especially that of their franchise player.
“It’s really just understanding each other’s games, understanding where our spots are,” Cunningham said. “We play so well off of each other. He gives me an outlet so many times whenever guys send more at me, and for me, I think he loves playing with me because I throw it over to him. It’s just about building that relationship on and off the court and continuing to grow.”
The Detroit Pistons’ rookie guard Cade Cunningham is already making waves in the NBA, and he has his teammate Malik Beasley to thank for it. Beasley’s hot shooting and playmaking abilities have opened up opportunities for Cunningham to showcase his own skills and make an impact on the court.
In recent games, Beasley has been on fire, draining threes and creating scoring chances for himself and his teammates. This has not only helped the Pistons win games, but it has also helped Cunningham settle into his role and find his rhythm as a rookie in the league.
Cunningham, the first overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, has shown flashes of brilliance with his scoring, playmaking, and defensive abilities. With Beasley’s hot streak, Cunningham has been able to play off of his teammate’s success and contribute to the team’s success as well.
As the season progresses, look for Cunningham to continue to benefit from Beasley’s hot shooting and playmaking, as they form a dynamic duo in the Pistons’ backcourt. Together, they have the potential to elevate the team to new heights and make a statement in the league.
