  • Marilyn Manson won’t face sexual assault, domestic violence charges in L.A.: DA

    Generate Key Takeaways

After a four-year investigation into sexual assault and domestic violence allegations, singer Marilyn Manson will not face charges. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced its decision on Friday.

“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt,” District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement.

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has been accused of sexual assault and/or misconduct by more than a dozen women, including ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood. He had been under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department since 2021 and denied wrongdoing.

“We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation,” Hochman continued. “While we are unable to bring charges in this matter, we recognize that the strong advocacy of the women involved has helped bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.”

Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco sued Manson, alleging sexual, physical and emotional abuse in 2021. She and the “shock rocker” settled in January 2023.

Manson has been on a sold-out international world tour amid the investigation. On Wednesday, he announced his first U.S. tour dates since the scandal unfolded publicly.

    Story developing

In a disappointing turn of events, Marilyn Manson will not be facing sexual assault or domestic violence charges in Los Angeles. The District Attorney’s office has announced that they will not be pursuing criminal charges against the controversial rocker due to lack of evidence.

This decision comes after multiple women came forward with allegations of abuse and misconduct against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner. Despite the disturbing nature of the accusations, prosecutors have determined that there is not enough evidence to move forward with a case.

Many fans and supporters of Manson’s accusers are outraged by this news, feeling that justice has not been served. However, it is important to remember that the legal system operates on the basis of evidence and proof, and without sufficient evidence, it is difficult to secure a conviction.

It remains to be seen how this decision will impact Manson’s career and reputation moving forward. In the meantime, it is crucial to continue supporting and believing survivors of abuse, and to advocate for a culture that holds perpetrators accountable for their actions.

  • Esme Bianco ‘Disappointed’ in DA Decision to Not Charge Marilyn Manson

Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco — who sued and then settled a sexual assault lawsuit with Marilyn Manson — released a statement saying she was “deeply disappointed” but not surprised by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s decision not to prosecute the musician following a four-year investigation.

“Within our toxic culture of victim blaming; a lack of understanding of coercive control, the complex nature of sexual assault within intimate partnerships, and statutes of limitations that do not support the realities of healing; prosecutions face an oftentimes insurmountable hurdle,” Bianco wrote. “Once again, our justice system has failed survivors.”

Bianco said it’s not that the prosecutors or detectives in the case who failed, but “the system that made them do so with one hand tied behind their collective facts.” Bianco assured that she would not allow the D.A. decision to curtail her “healing and peace.”

On Friday, District Attorney Nathan Hochman said that after a four-year investigation, prosecutors had determined that the domestic abuse allegations against Manson fell outside the statute of limitations and that the sexual assault charges could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

“I know the truth of what happened to me. It sits deeply rooted in my belly, unshakable, mine. No one and nothing can take that away,” Bianco wrote. “And so to all the survivors reading this, who are being hit by yet another piece of stinging news and feeling hopeless or discouraged, let me remind you: you know your truth also.

“Let that be your anchor, for it is stronger than the bars of any prison,” she added. “Using that truth as our guide we can draw strength to continue the fight for justice reform. Shine our light onto the dark realities of sexual violence and intimate partner abuse, so that we can not only understand it but end it. Strive to heal not only ourselves but the hurt people who hurt others.”

Bianco ended her powerful statement by directing some words to Manson. “By you dragging me through hell, I discovered the unstoppable force of my own power. I learnt how strong, and brave and bold I really am,” she wrote. “I emerged as a Phoenix from the ashes that you left of my life. You also know the truth, and may you endeavor to find peace with that.”

Bianco told Rolling Stone in October that the prosecutor’s office had “mishandled” rap accusations, and that she was in “absolute agony” waiting for a decision to charge to come forth. In interviews with the D.A., Bianco said Manson trafficked her, whipped her, repeatedly sexually assaulted her, and raped her at knifepoint during a traumatic two-year domestic relationship that ended in 2011.

Outside the criminal investigation, Warner reached an out-of-court settlement with Bianco in Janaury 2023. Later that year, he also reached a private settlement with a Jane Doe accuser who alleged he brutally raped her in 2011. The Doe accuser further alleged that Warner also deprived her of food and sleep during their relationship and that he threatened to “bash her head in” if she reported.

As detailed in a 2021 Rolling Stone exposé, Warner has faced numerous allegations of sexual assault and violence over the years, including claims brought by actress Evan Rachel Wood. Warner has repeatedly denied the accusations against him.

“We are very pleased that, after a thorough and incredibly lengthy review of all of the actual evidence, the District Attorney has concluded what we knew and expressed from the start – Brian Warner is innocent,” Warner’s attorney, Howard King, said in a statement following the decision.

In Friday’s statement, Bianco’s attorney Jay Ellwanger said in the statement that it was “an honor” to represent Bianco and other victims who came forward to provide evidence to the L.A. Sheriff’s Department, adding that “they respectfully disagree with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s decision.”

He added: “There is no statute of limitation for the suffering experienced by these brave women.”

Esme Bianco, the actress and model who accused Marilyn Manson of abuse, has expressed her disappointment in the decision by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to not charge the musician with any crimes.

In a statement released on social media, Bianco expressed her frustration and sadness over the decision, saying that it sends a message to survivors that their experiences and trauma are not taken seriously.

Bianco, who is known for her role in the hit television series “Game of Thrones,” came forward with allegations of abuse against Manson in February 2021. She claimed that Manson subjected her to physical, psychological, and sexual abuse during their relationship in the mid-2000s.

Despite Bianco’s accusations and those of other women who have come forward with similar stories, the District Attorney’s Office announced that they would not be pursuing charges against Manson due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

In her statement, Bianco expressed her disappointment in the justice system’s failure to hold Manson accountable for his actions, and called for continued support and advocacy for survivors of abuse.

The decision by the District Attorney’s Office has sparked outrage and renewed calls for justice for survivors of abuse, with many expressing solidarity and support for Bianco and other women who have accused Manson of abuse.

As the conversation around accountability and justice for survivors of abuse continues, it is clear that the fight for justice is far from over.

  • Marilyn Manson won’t face charges after investigation into sexual assault claims | Marilyn Manson

Prosecutors said on Friday that they will not file charges against Marilyn Manson after a years-long investigation of allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.

The Los Angeles county district attorney, Nathan Hochman, said the allegations were too old under the law and the evidence was not sufficient to charge the 56-year-old shock rocker whose legal name is Brian Warner.

“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt,” Hochman said. “We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation.”

Nearly four years after the investigation began, the then district attorney, George Gascón, said on 9 October that his office was pursuing new leads that added to the “already extensive” file that authorities had amassed.

LA county sheriff’s detectives said early in 2021 that they were investigating Manson for incidents between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood, where Manson lived at the time. The investigation included a search warrant that was served on his West Hollywood home. The case was initially turned over to prosecutors in September 2021, but the Los Angeles county district attorney’s office requested more evidence-gathering and the investigation resumed.

The identities of the women police and prosecutors spoke to were not revealed, but the Game of Thrones actor Esmé Bianco – who sued Manson in a case that has been settled – said she was part of the criminal investigation. Before the decision not to prosecute, she criticized how long the process was taking at a rally for Hochman, who was elected soon after.

“Almost four years ago, I did what victims of rape are supposed to do: I went to the police,” she said on 10 October. “I described to them in agonizing detail how the rock musician Brian Warner – better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson – had raped and abused me over the course of our relationship.”

Bianco said she gave investigators “hundreds of pieces of evidence, including photos of my body covered in bites, bruises and knife wounds, emails and text messages, threats to my immigration status”.

In her lawsuit, Bianco alleged sexual, physical and emotional abuse, and said that Manson violated human trafficking law by bringing her to California from England for non-existent roles in music videos and movies.

Manson’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. He has previously called the allegations “provably false”. A representative for Bianco did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

In 2021 his former fiancee, the Westworld actor Evan Rachel Wood, named him as her abuser for the first time in an Instagram post.

Wood and Manson’s relationship became public in 2007 when he was 38 and she was 19, and they were briefly engaged in 2010 before breaking up.

“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years,” Wood said.

Manson replied on Instagram that these were “horrible distortions of reality”. He sued Wood, saying she and another woman fabricated accusations against him and convinced others to do the same. A judge threw out significant sections of the suit, then in November, Manson agreed to drop it and pay Wood’s attorney fees.

The Associated Press does not typically name people who say they have been sexually abused, unless they come forward publicly as Bianco and Wood have done.

Other women sued Manson in the months after Wood came forward. Wood’s representative did not immediately return a message on Friday.

Manson emerged as a musical star in the mid-1990s, known as much for courting public controversy as for hit songs like The Beautiful People and hit albums like 1996’s Antichrist Superstar and 1998’s Mechanical Animals.

In recent news, Marilyn Manson will not be facing charges after an investigation into sexual assault claims made against him. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to pursue charges due to lack of evidence and the statute of limitations expiring on some of the allegations.

This decision comes after multiple women came forward with allegations of sexual assault and abuse against the controversial rock star. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has denied the allegations and maintained his innocence throughout the investigation.

While Manson may not be facing criminal charges, the investigation has shed light on the ongoing issue of sexual assault and abuse in the entertainment industry. It serves as a reminder that survivors of abuse deserve to be heard and believed, and that more needs to be done to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.

As the conversation around sexual assault and abuse continues, it is important to support survivors, hold abusers accountable, and work towards creating a safer and more inclusive environment for all.

  • Marilyn Manson Will Not Face Rape, Sex Abuse Charges, Says Los Angeles DA

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson will not face charges on domestic abuse and sexual assault, prosecutors announced Friday after a four-year investigation into allegations about Manson’s conduct.

“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced on Friday, Jan. 24.

It was not clear whose allegations and what conduct the investigation centered. But Manson, born Brian Warner, has faced several allegations of sexual misconduct, including from ex-fiancee Evan Rachel Wood and Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco, who have accused Manson of sexual assault and abuse.

“We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation,” Hochman wrote.

“While we are unable to bring charges in this matter, we recognize that the strong advocacy of the women involved has helped bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.”

In 2021, authorities began investigating alleged incidents between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood, where Manson lived.

Despite the outcome of this case, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said it remains “fully committed to seeking justice for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault whenever legally possible. We encourage anyone experiencing abuse to seek support and make a report to law enforcement as quickly as possible.

Manson’s attorney did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In a recent development, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has announced that Marilyn Manson will not be facing rape or sexual abuse charges despite multiple women coming forward with allegations against the musician. The decision comes after a thorough investigation into the claims made against Manson.

While Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has faced backlash and consequences in the industry following the allegations, it appears that he will not be facing criminal charges at this time. The decision has sparked mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, with some arguing that justice has not been served while others believe that Manson should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

It remains to be seen how this development will impact Manson’s career moving forward, but for now, it seems that he has avoided legal repercussions in relation to the allegations made against him.

  • Rocker Marilyn Manson won’t be charged after long investigation of sexual assault allegations

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors said Friday that they will not file charges against Marilyn Manson after a years-long investigation of allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the allegations are too old under the law and the evidence is not sufficient to charge the 56-year-old shock rocker whose legal name is Brian Warner.

The probe included a search warrant that was served on his West Hollywood home. Rock icon Marilyn Manson will not be facing charges after a lengthy investigation into sexual assault allegations made against him. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has stated that there is insufficient evidence to move forward with criminal charges against Manson.

The controversial musician, known for his shock rock persona and provocative lyrics, has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault, abuse, and manipulation. However, Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has consistently denied these allegations and maintained his innocence.

The decision not to press charges comes as a relief to Manson and his supporters, who have stood by him throughout the investigation. The news also raises questions about the credibility of the accusers and the impact of cancel culture on high-profile figures.

While Manson may have avoided legal consequences in this case, the allegations against him have undoubtedly tarnished his reputation and career. It remains to be seen how he will move forward in the wake of these accusations and whether he will be able to regain the trust of his fans and the public.

  • Marilyn Manson won’t be charged in rape, domestic violence cases

Marilyn Manson will not face criminal charges in a series of sexual assault and domestic violence allegations, Los Angeles County prosecutors said Friday.

The musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, had been under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department since 2021 after several women came forward to accuse him of rape and abuse. His accusers included “Westworld” actress Evan Rachel Wood and “Game of Thrones” actress Esme Bianco.

Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman said in a statement Friday that the statute of limitations had run out on the domestic violence allegations and that prosecutors did not believe they could prove the rape charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

“We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation,” Hochman said in a statement. “While we are unable to bring charges in this matter, we recognize that the strong advocacy of the women involved has helped bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.”

The district attorney’s office did not immediately respond to a request for further details on the decision. Warner’s attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.

Allegations against Warner first surfaced in 2021 after Bianco sued Manson, alleging sexual assault, sexual battery and human trafficking. The two settled Bianco’s lawsuit in 2023. The same year, Manson settled a suit with an anonymous Jane Doe that also alleged rape.

Wood, who was in a romantic relationship with Warner for years, has levied perhaps the most detailed allegations against Warner, claiming the singer first assaulted her during a simulated sex scene on a music video shoot in 2007 and then proceeded to “groom” her for years.

A former assistant, Ashley Waters, also sued Manson, alleging harassment and assault.

L.A. County Sheriff’s Department investigators raided Manson’s mansion in 2021 and presented a case to the district attorney’s office in 2022. The victims grew frustrated as years went by without a filing decision, and Bianco and Hochman held a press conference lambasting former Dist. Atty. George Gascón’s handling of the case last year.

“Almost four years ago, I did what victims of rape are ‘supposed’ to do — I went to the police,” Bianco said in a statement issued by Hochman’s campaign last year. “Despite a thorough investigation and hundreds of pieces of evidence being submitted to the District Attorney’s office, I am still waiting for justice. In the meantime, I have received death threats, while my abuser continues to perform publicly.”

Gascón said last October that “new evidence” had come forward in the case but did not detail what it was.

Hochman did not immediately respond to a question about the past campaign event.

Recently, it has been reported that Marilyn Manson will not be charged in the rape and domestic violence cases brought against him. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has declined to pursue charges due to insufficient evidence.

This news comes as a relief to Manson and his fans, who have stood by him throughout the allegations. While the singer has faced backlash and backlash in the wake of the accusations, it seems that he will not be facing legal consequences at this time.

However, it is important to remember that this decision does not necessarily mean that Manson is innocent. It simply means that there is not enough evidence to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

As always, it is crucial to support and believe survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. It is important to continue to hold abusers accountable for their actions and to create a safe and supportive environment for survivors to come forward.

Let us continue to stand with survivors and work towards a world where all forms of abuse and violence are taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

The decision not to charge “the Fight Song” singer — real name Brian Warner — followed “a comprehensive four-year investigation” by “experienced prosecutors” and detectives, new Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said.

“Despite the decision necessitated by the facts and evidence in this matter, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office remains fully committed to seeking justice for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault whenever legally possible,” Hochman said.
