  • Mikey Garcia doesn’t want to see Gervonta Davis fight Shakur Stevenson

Former champion Mikey Garcia chats with Fight Hub TV about what he thinks of the matchup between Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Lamont Roach on the horizon, and why he’s not excited about the prospect of Tank fighting Shakur Stevenson in the future. Check out some of what he had to say below.

Garcia on the Tank vs Roach fight

“I think Tank is one of the very best fighters, definitely in the lightweight division. I don’t think Roach would be a huge threat for Tank. Tank is very talented, very skilled, and also very experienced at this point now. He’s fought and seen pretty much every style there is and his power is tremendous where he has that knockout punching power and he has the confidence to do it.

“It’s hard to go against Tank. Again, not to disrespect his opponent Roach but I think Tank is a beast and he’s been proving it every fight and he probably will win this fight as well.”

On a prospective Tank vs Shakur Stevenson fight

“I’m actually not a very big fan of that fight…Now I do believe Shakur Stevenson is a great, great fighter as well. He’s got the skills, he’s got the talent, great boxer, super talented with footwork, with speed, reflexes, counter punching ability, he’s one of the very, very best. But I’m not a fan of that fight because Shakur Stevenson is the kind of fighter that he’s going to fight his fight regardless of what the critics, the fans, or anybody want to see…winning is winning for him.

“But as a fight fan that turns me off. Now as a fighter I applaud him, I understand and give him all the respect for the skills…but as a fight fan that turns me off. I much rather see Tank fight other guys, for example Lomachenko, that I know Lomachenko’s there to fight even though he also has great footwork and speed and reflexes — but he’s there to fight. I much rather see that fight than a Shakur Stevenson fight.

“Shakur Stevenson’s going to be a dull, not as exciting of a matchup and I think that’s why he’s going to have a tough time getting some of these big fights. Until he turns his style a bit and shows up a little more, maybe then he’ll get some of these fights but until then I don’t think Tank fights him or anybody that’s a serious threat. Shakur, again, great fighter as far as skills but not a great fighter for the fans.”

Mikey Garcia doesn’t want to see Gervonta Davis fight Shakur Stevenson

In a recent interview, former world champion Mikey Garcia expressed his disinterest in seeing a potential matchup between Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson. Garcia believes that the two fighters are in different weight classes and that they should focus on their respective divisions.

Garcia stated, “I don’t see the point of Davis and Stevenson fighting each other. They are in different weight classes and have different career trajectories. I think it would be better for them to focus on building their own legacies in their respective divisions.”

While both Davis and Stevenson are rising stars in the sport of boxing, Garcia’s opinion highlights the importance of fighters staying in their weight classes and pursuing the best matchups within those divisions. It remains to be seen if a fight between Davis and Stevenson will ever come to fruition, but for now, Garcia believes that it is not a necessary or desired matchup.

  • Tottenham 3-0 Elfsborg: Mikey Moore seals win as Spurs reach Europa League last 16

Tottenham overcame yet another injury setback to reach the last 16 of the Europa League as their new generation shone in a win over Elfsborg.

Spurs, who were already without 12 players because of injury and ineligibility, lost substitute defender Radu Dragusin when he went down hurt in the second half with the game goalless.

But substitute Dane Scarlett, 20, lifted the mood by heading the home side into a 70th-minute lead before 19-year-old fellow substitute Damola Ajayi made it 2-0.

Seventeen-year-old winger Mikey Moore sealed victory with his first goal for the club in the fourth minute of stoppage time, a wonderful low finish after a powerful run.

Spurs had struggled to find a way through the Swedish team’s stubborn defence in the first half.

Moore went closest before half-time after clever play by Son Heung-min, but Isak Pettersson produced a reflex save to frustrate the home side.

Elfsborg – playing their 16th game in the competition after starting in the first qualifying round – went close themselves through Jalal Abdullai in the second half before Scarlett set Spurs on their way.

Spurs finish the league phase in fourth place with 17 points and can now concentrate on domestic matters until the last-16 stage in March after avoiding a play-off tie in February.

Ange Postecoglou’s side will face one of Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AZ Alkmaar or Midtjylland next in the competition.

    More to follow.

Tottenham cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Elfsborg in the Europa League, with Mikey Moore putting the icing on the cake with a late goal to seal the win. The result sees Spurs progress to the last 16 of the competition, maintaining their impressive run in Europe. Stay tuned for more updates on their journey in the Europa League. #Tottenham #EuropaLeague #MikeyMoore #Last16

  • Mikey Madison Explains Her Intimacy Coordinator Comments & How ‘Anora’ Has Changed Her Life

Mikey Madison Explains Her Intimacy Coordinator Comments & How ‘Anora’ Has Changed Her Life

It’s no wonder that Mikey Madison is in the thick of deep cleaning her home. After spending much of 2024 on the road with her breakout smash of a movie “Anora,” and staring down the gauntlet of early 2025 awards season, Madison is finally spending some more time in her hometown of Los Angeles. Every little bit of zen is going to count in the weeks ahead.

“I think that there is something to be said about returning to your space and somewhere that feels comfortable and safe for you,” Madison says. “And my home is definitely that for me, which is why I’ve been frantically reorganizing and cleaning and tidying and all that stuff because it’s important.”

Anora” first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival back in May 2024, where it would go on to win the Palme d’Or and catapult Madison into an awards conversation that has only gained momentum since then. Madison is up for a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, and will receive the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Palm Springs International Film Awards on Friday and the Breakthrough Performance Award at the National Board of Review at the Tuesday gala.

“I can’t believe that this has been the same year,” says Madison, who is 25. “I feel like I’ve grown a lot in some ways, which is interesting. I’ve been able to experience going to lots of different countries and showing our film to various audience members. I feel lucky to have this experience — it definitely wasn’t one that I was expecting, and so it’s been a very pleasant surprise, all of it.”

“Anora” is the story of a sex worker in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, named Anora (Ani for short) who enters into a whirlwind marriage to the son of a Russian oligarch. Director Sean Baker, known for “The Florida Project,” “Tangerine” and “Red Rocket,” wrote the script with Madison in mind after seeing her as a member of the Manson family in the Quentin Tarantino movie “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

At the time it was pitched to her, the plot was a loose idea, more of a “Russian gangster story” about a woman marrying the wrong man. Despite not knowing much about the character, Madison was immediately interested in the opportunity to work with Baker.

“I felt like whatever character he would write would be one that I would love because I loved him as a filmmaker,” she says.

As Ani was flushed out, Madison moved to Brighton Beach, studied both the Brooklyn accent and Russian, and learned how to dance.

“I had never had the opportunity to completely transform in this way before. I had never had a director see me in this way, to give me this opportunity to play a character unlike any character I’ve ever played,” she says. “And so I certainly put quite a bit of pressure on myself to really buckle down and do the work. I dedicated all my time to it. But I was excited about everything that Ani is. I was excited to research her work. I was excited to create her personal life and her backstory, her morals, who she is as a person and learn Russian and have this different dialect, all of it new to me. I saw it as a challenge and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Prior to acting, Madison was a competitive horseback rider. Her mother and grandmother were riders before her, and the sport was “everything that I knew,” Madison says. She reached a turning point around a decade ago where she felt herself “searching for something else,” which coincided with a growing interest in film, thanks to her film buff father.

“I was craving connection on a deeper level, and I think that it manifested itself in me being an actor,” she says.

Competitive riding requires a dedication and commitment that can easily be spotted in Madison’s work.

“There’s a lot of dedication involved in horseback riding, at least competitive horseback riding. It’s not something that you can do once a month. You have to develop your skills. You have to develop your muscles, you have to create a connection with the animal that you’re working with,” she says of the sport. “The dedication and the work ethic that gave me, I translated and brought that into my work as an actor. I’m constantly trying to grow and evolve every day.”

In the 10-plus years she’s been acting, Madison has earned recognition for characters like the brash teenager Max on “Better Things,” Susan Atkins in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and Amber Freeman in 2022’s “Scream.”

“I’ve been able to play some really bold, feisty characters in my career so far,” she says of the roles. “There’s probably a reason why I’ve been cast in those particular roles, and I think it’s some part of myself that feels free to experience all of these emotions and these different versions of myself through the eyes of a character with a sort of safety net underneath me.”

She was a self-described shy teenager who says she thinks she’ll always be shy in a way, despite building a résumé of such immersive performances.

“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve evolved more into myself. I know who I am. I’m confident in who that person is,” Madison says. “And so I think that from there, the shyness in some way has dissipated because I think that my shyness growing up came from a lack of understanding of who I was, a discomfort in my own body. And I feel differently now than I did when I was younger, but I think there will always be a part of me that is just more, what’s the word I’m looking for? I don’t know, inside of myself, I guess.”

Her road to fame with “Anora” has not come without bumps. In December, she and Pamela Anderson were partnered in Variety’s “Actors on Actors,” where Madison told Anderson they had opted to not use an intimacy coordinator on “Anora.” An immediate backlash came online, with many finding the comments to minimize the importance intimacy coordinators provide on film sets.

“It’s not a conversation that I take lightly,” Madison says of the reaction. “With each project that has intimacy involved, there’s many discussions in advance. I had many discussions in advance, not just me and my director alone in a room making a decision, but with me, my team, other actors, their team — everyone involved was on the same page and we made this decision together.

“The way I see it is ultimately, as a woman, I think it’s my right to decide what makes me most comfortable on a set, because it’s my body and on this set, the actors involved were most comfortable working without, and it may be different on the next set, but it’s my choice as a woman and as an actress. And I had a very positive, safe experience on this film, and I know that that’s not always the case. So it is important to have people who are there to protect and support. I look forward to working with an intimacy coordinator in the future, if that feels like the right decision for everyone involved.”

Since “Anora” broke out at Cannes, Madison has yet to announce a next project — most certainly not because the interest isn’t there. There are a few projects that “feel really special” to her that she’s hoping to be part of, but she is approaching her next act selectively.

“I feel very hopeful, which is fun. I was thinking earlier today about how I’ve had years where I haven’t worked — I’ve tried to, but for whatever reason, it’s been difficult to get a job, and so it’s really exciting to be in this position now,” she says. “I’m able to read scripts that I would never have dreamed of being able to read however many years ago.

“Being intentional and specific and taking my time is just how I’m trying to be in general in my life,” she adds. “I’ve been grateful for every [acting] job I’ve had, but I’ve also learned that it’s an emotional job, and I really would like to have that emotional, deep connection and love for the story and the script that I’m playing. I have to feel that draw to be like, ‘I have to do this. I have to be the one to play this character.’ Or else I think it’s a sign that maybe it’s not the right next job for me. But I also had such an amazing f–king life-changing experience making Sean’s movie that it’s made me more thoughtful as an actor. I’m also just thinking about things long term, like what really makes me happy, what I feel like I can best lend my artistic services to.”

In a recent interview, Mikey Madison opened up about her controversial comments regarding intimacy coordinators on set and how her role as ‘Anora’ in the hit show has changed her life.

Madison, who plays the fierce and independent character Anora in the popular series, initially sparked debate when she expressed skepticism about the need for intimacy coordinators in the industry. However, she has since clarified her stance, explaining that while she believes in the importance of ensuring a safe and comfortable work environment for all actors, she also values the creative freedom that comes with organic on-set interactions.

As for her character ‘Anora’, Madison shared that the role has been a transformative experience for her both professionally and personally. She revealed that playing Anora has empowered her to embrace her own strength and independence, and has inspired her to take on new challenges in her career.

Overall, Mikey Madison’s journey as ‘Anora’ has been a powerful and transformative one, both on and off-screen. Her willingness to address and reflect on her previous comments shows growth and openness, and her portrayal of Anora continues to inspire fans around the world.

However, Love has taken it with grace as Spoelstra said to ClutchPoints before Wednesday’s contest that the 36-year-old is like a “shapeshifter” in the way he adapts to any role. “I just can’t say enough about K-Love, his leadership, and the appreciation for him adapting and molding into different roles. He’s like a shapeshifter for us,” Spoelstra said. “Starting the other night [against the Rockets], I thought that was really important for a team that offense rebounds so well, and K-Love really helped out on the glass right away, and set the tone for kind of the physicality for the game. You know, you can play him off the bench. He’s been great in those minutes.” “And then, you know, we have some really talented young guys that he understands that Kel’el [Ware] and Niko [Jovic],” Spoelstra said. “You know that not only we’d like to see them get minutes, but they’ve gotten better with their minutes. They’re earning, you know, minutes and earning their opportunities. K-Love celebrates their success.”

are a tough team to beat

In a recent press conference, Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder had high praise for the Atlanta Hawks, calling them a tough team to beat. One player who has been instrumental in the Hawks’ success this season is Mikey Kobrinsky.

Kobrinsky, a rising star in the league, has been a key contributor for the Hawks on both ends of the court. His scoring ability and defensive prowess have helped the team win crucial games and climb up the standings in the Eastern Conference.

Snyder’s comments only further highlight the impact that Kobrinsky has had on the Hawks and their success this season. With his skill and determination, there’s no doubt that Kobrinsky will continue to be a key player for the Hawks as they make a push for the playoffs.

  • Mikey Keene transfers to Michigan: Ex-Fresno State QB eyes starting job in 2025 as Bryce Underwood develops

Mikey Keene transfers to Michigan: Ex-Fresno State QB eyes starting job in 2025 as Bryce Underwood develops

Michigan has landed a commitment from former Fresno State quarterback Mikey Keene, 247Sports confirms. Keene, who started his career at UCF, earned All-Mountain West Honorable Mention each of the past two seasons.

Keene comes to Ann Arbor after throwing for more than 8,000 yards and 65 touchdowns in 39 career games. In two years at Fresno State, Keene completed 68.7% of his passes for 5,868 yards and 42 touchdowns. Keene actually started against Michigan for Fresno State this season, completing 22 of 36 passes for 235 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

The senior has one year of eligibility remaining, making him an ideal stopgap for the Wolverines with No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood coming to campus. The Belleville, Michigan, native is the future at Michigan, but Keene’s presence means that the Wolverines staff can pace his development.

In their first season under coach Sherrone Moore, the Wolverines posted one of the worst passing offenses by a major college team of the past several years. The Wolverines ranked No. 130 nationally in passing offense at 133.6 yards per game, ahead of only Iowa and the three service academies. Their 5.5 yards per pass attempt cleared only New Mexico State. After the season, Michigan fired offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell and hired Chip Lindsey, a former coach at Troy

Michigan quarterback Alex Orji has entered the transfer portal and Jack Tuttle is out of eligibility. However, primary starter Davis Warren and backups Jayden Denegal and Jadyn Davis remain on the roster for now. The Wolverines play Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl in a rematch of the 2024 Rose Bowl on Dec. 31.

Mikey Keene, who recently entered the transfer portal after playing two seasons at Fresno State, has announced his decision to transfer to Michigan. The talented quarterback is now setting his sights on competing for the starting job in 2025 as current quarterback Bryce Underwood continues to develop.

Keene, known for his strong arm and ability to read defenses, will bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the Wolverines. During his time at Fresno State, he threw for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns, showcasing his potential to excel at the next level.

With Underwood still in the early stages of his development, Keene will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact and compete for the starting role. His arrival adds depth and competition to the quarterback room, creating a healthy environment for growth and improvement.

Michigan fans are eagerly anticipating Keene’s debut in the maize and blue, as they believe he has the potential to lead the team to success in the coming seasons. As he begins his new chapter in Ann Arbor, all eyes will be on Keene as he looks to make his mark and solidify his place as the starting quarterback for the Wolverines.

  • Why Michigan Football fans should be optimistic about QB Mikey Keene

Why Michigan Football fans should be optimistic about QB Mikey Keene

Whenever you go out and land the top-ranked player, especially when it’s a quarterback, fans will want to see him play right away. That’s the case with Michigan and five-star phenom Bryce Underwood. The Wolverines swayed Underwood to leave LSU and come back home and stay close to Ann Arbor for the next three-to-four years.

However, Michigan doesn’t want to be in the same situation that it found itself in this year with not much quarterback depth. The Wolverines rotated between three quarterbacks this season before giving the starting job back to former walk-on Davis Warren.

Michigan, as of now, still has former highly-touted quarterback Jadyn Davis on its roster, but the Wolverines also went out and landed veteran Mikey Keene from the transfer portal. Keene knows new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey fairly well after playing under him at UCF. Keene played there two seasons — redshirting one — before transferring to Fresno State where he played the past two seasons.

But Keene wasn’t the big name that Michigan fans wanted. Wolverine fans wanted more of a splash like USC’s Miller Moss, Cal’s Fernando Mendoza, or Washington State’s John Mateer. With the signing of Keene, Michigan fans believe that signals Underwood will start Day 1 for the maize and blue, but there is reason for optimism regarding Keene.

At worst, Keene is a great backup quarterback, but at best, Michigan uses Keene and Underwood as it did with Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy in 2021. Underwood plays, but Keene also sees the field and plays turnover-free football, and helps guide the Wolverines to wins using his experience.

Keene has shown he can air the ball out. He’s thrown for nearly 3,000 yards in each of the last two seasons. He has thrown for 65 career touchdowns to 28 interceptions and he has completed 67.8% of his passes. Keene is accurate and makes mostly good decisions.

But to dive more into things, according to Pro Football Focus, Keene has been better than several more prominent quarterbacks in each of the last two years.

This season, Keene had a 75.9 grade per PFF which was 64th in the country. However, he graded out better than the following:

    Missouri QB Brady Cook (75.7)

Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles (73.8)

South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers (73.3)

    Texas QB Quinn Ewers (72.0)

Oklahoma State QB Alan Bowman (71.8)

    Among others..

Then in 2023, Keene graded out with a 78.3 grade which was 46th in the country. He graded out better than the following:

Kansas State QB Will Howard (78.1)

    Tennessee QB Joe Milton (77.9)

    Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson (77.6)

South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler (77.6)

    Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa (77.6)

Ohio State QB Kyle McCord (76.4)

    Clemson QB Cade Klubnik (64.4)

It’s very possible that Underwood takes the job on Day 1 because he’s just that talented. But Michigan clearly did its homework and liked what Keene brings to the table. His size could be a little concerning standing at 5-foot-11 but Keene is talented and has the arm strength to make an impact in Ann Arbor. As stated above, worst case scenario is that Michigan secured itself a valuable backup, but don’t count out Keene to compete for some playing time in 2025.

Despite facing some challenges in his first season as starting quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines, Mikey Keene has shown great potential and growth throughout the year. Here are a few reasons why Michigan football fans should be optimistic about Keene’s future with the team:

    1. Resilience: Despite facing some tough losses and criticism, Keene has shown resilience and a strong work ethic. He has continued to improve and learn from his mistakes, showing a determination to succeed.

    2. Arm strength and accuracy: Keene has shown flashes of his arm strength and accuracy throughout the season, making some impressive throws and demonstrating his potential as a passer.

    3. Mobility: Keene’s mobility and ability to extend plays with his legs have been a valuable asset for the Wolverines. His ability to escape pressure and make plays on the run has been a key factor in keeping drives alive.

    4. Leadership: Keene has shown leadership qualities on and off the field, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. His poise under pressure and ability to remain calm in tough situations bode well for his future as a starting quarterback.

Overall, Mikey Keene has shown promise and potential as the starting quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines. With continued development and support from his teammates and coaching staff, there is reason to be optimistic about his future with the team. Michigan football fans should be excited to see what Keene can accomplish in the seasons to come.
