  • Mikel Arteta would be making the worst mistake of the season if he starts one Arsenal star vs Girona

Arsenal travel to Spain to take on Girona in their final league phase game of this season’s Champions League.

The Gunners have had their problems in the Premier League, but they have been fantastic in Europe. They are third in the table going into the final game week and are almost certain to automatically qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.

Girona were one of the surprise packages in La Liga last season. They finished third, but things have been a bit more difficult this campaign – they are currently eighth in Spain and 31st in the Champions League.

Arsenal, however, are still expected to name a strong lineup, but one player simply must not play on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta should rest Kai Havertz for Girona vs Arsenal

Kai Havertz is one of Arsenal’s most important players.

The Germany international has played 31 games in all competitions for Arsenal this season, and he has barely had a break recently.

Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka’s injuries have forced him to play every minute of every game over the last few weeks, and that has not been ideal at all.

At the end of the win against Wolves last weekend, Havertz looked shattered and fell to the ground right after the full-time whistle. Two Arsenal physios had to help him up.

It is clear that Havertz needs a break.

Yes, Arsenal don’t have a proper replacement for him, but pushing him to start against Girona in a game in which a point is enough to qualify would be silly.

If Arteta risks Havertz and the German gets injured, it would make the decision the worst of the season by a country mile.

That cannot happen. Arsenal’s season will be over on all fronts if they lose Havertz.

Arsenal have an academy star who can replace Kai Havertz vs Girona

Jesus’ injury means Arsenal don’t have a natural centre-forward right now.

Leandro Trossard can play there as a false nine, while Gabriel Martinelli can also slot in to replace Havertz if he is rested on Wednesday night.

However, there is also an Arsenal Academy graduate who deserves a chance.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s last Champions League game, and we think he should get a start against Girona.

However, whether Arteta will consider that remains to be seen.

    Related Topics

In an upcoming friendly match against Girona, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would be making the worst mistake of the season if he decides to start one particular Arsenal star. This player has been underperforming consistently and has failed to impress in recent matches.

Despite being given multiple chances to prove himself, this player has failed to deliver the level of performance expected from an Arsenal player. Starting him in a match against Girona would not only jeopardize the team’s chances of winning but also send a message that poor performances will be tolerated.

It is crucial for Arteta to make tough decisions and prioritize the team’s success over individual interests. By benching this underperforming star and giving other players a chance to shine, Arteta can show that mediocrity will not be accepted at Arsenal.

Ultimately, Arteta’s decision to start this player against Girona could have serious repercussions for the team’s performance and morale. It is imperative that he makes the right choice and puts the team’s success first.

  • Bill Gates says the end of his marriage to Melinda Gates is the mistake he regrets most

Billionaire Bill Gates is opening up about his life and named the end of his 27-year long marriage to Melinda French Gates as his biggest mistake.

The Microsoft mogul spoke to The Times of London ahead of the release of his memoir, “Source Code.” In the interview, Gates said his divorce was “the mistake I most regret.”

“There is a certain wonderfulness to spending your entire adult life with one person because of the memories and depth of things you have done and having kids together,” Gates said. “When Melinda and I met, I was fairly successful but not ridiculously successful — that came during the time that we were together. So, she saw me through a lot.”

The couple announced in 2021 that they were separating, saying that their relationship was irretrievably broken.

He told NBC News’ “TODAY” show the following year that the divorce was “definitely a sad thing.”

“I have responsibility for causing a lot of pain to my family. It was a tough year,” Gates said. “I feel good that all of us are moving forward now.”

He and French Gates initially continued to work together through The Gates Foundation, one of world’s largest private philanthropic organizations. At the time of the divorce, the couple said they would run the organization for two years. If it became an issue, French Gates would resign her positions as co-chair and trustee after the conclusion of those two years.

French Gates issued her resignation last year, a decision that Gates told The Times of London “disappointed” him. But though the divorce was “miserable” for the both of them, it seems based on Gates’ interview that they are in a good place.

“Melinda and I still see each other — we have three kids and two grandchildren so there are family events,” Gates said. “The kids are doing well. They have good values.”

When asked by the Times if he had regrets other than the end of the marriage, Gates responded, “There are others, but none that matter.”

Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, recently revealed in an interview that the end of his marriage to Melinda Gates is the mistake he regrets most in his life. The couple announced their divorce in May 2021 after 27 years of marriage.

In a candid conversation, Bill Gates admitted that the breakup of his marriage was a difficult and painful decision for both him and Melinda. He expressed deep regret for the way things unfolded and the impact it had on their family.

Despite their separation, Bill Gates emphasized that he and Melinda remain committed to co-parenting their three children and continuing their philanthropic work through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He acknowledged that their marriage had many highs and lows, but ultimately, he wishes he could have handled things differently.

This revelation sheds light on the personal struggles of one of the world’s wealthiest and most influential couples. It serves as a reminder that even those who seem to have it all can still grapple with regrets and challenges in their relationships.

  • Former NBA Star Thinks Steph Curry Is Making A Mistake

Steph Curry is one of the best 20 players of all time.

The future Hall of Famer has spent his entire 16-year career playing for the Golden State Warriors.

That said, the Warriors are coming off a season where they missed the NBA playoffs (and they are not anywhere close to being a contender for the 2025 title).

Curry has shown no signs of ever wanting to leave the franchise that drafted him (despite their recent struggles).

At 36, it’s very likely he joins the exclusive list of superstars to finsh out a career with one team.

That said, former NBA star Eddie Johnson thinks Curry is making a mistake.

Johnson (via The Bill Simmons Podcast): “I know Curry will never give in to being traded, but I just think it’s a mistake. I think their run is over with this group.”

Curry is currently averaging 22.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 44.0% from the field and 40.2% from the three-point range in 39 games.

On Friday night, the Warriors were blown out by the Phoenix Suns (130-105).

Curry had one of his worst games of the season, finishing with 14 points while shooting 5/14 from the field.

The Warriors currently sit as the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 24-24 record in 48 games.

They will resume action on Monday when they host the Orlando Magic.

Former NBA star Charles Barkley believes that Steph Curry is making a mistake by staying with the Golden State Warriors. In a recent interview, Barkley expressed his opinion that Curry should consider leaving the Warriors in order to have a better chance at winning another championship.

Barkley pointed out that the Warriors are no longer the dominant team they once were, and that Curry’s individual greatness is being wasted on a team that is unlikely to win a championship in the near future. He suggested that Curry should explore his options and consider joining a team that has a better chance at winning a title.

While Curry has been loyal to the Warriors throughout his career, Barkley believes that it may be time for him to prioritize his own success and legacy. Only time will tell if Curry will take Barkley’s advice and consider moving on from the Warriors.

  • Jason Kidd must quickly correct his Klay Thompson mistake and make key change

The Dallas Mavericks were able to edge away a 137-136 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, as the Mavericks were able to score at a very high volume despite New Orleans testing Dallas’ defense on the other side of the ball all night long. Dallas finally got some help from the injury department as Naji Marshall returned to the lineup after missing four games due to illness, and Marshall chipped in five points against his former team despite being on a minutes restriction.

Dallas still isn’t fully healthy by any stretch of the imagination, but they are getting closer to that territory with each passing game and have survived this Doncic-less stretch respectably, even if they have dropped one too many clutch contests. Ever since Doncic went down on Christmas Day versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas has gone 7-12, and they could easily be around .500 over this stretch if they didn’t drop so many close games as aforementioned.

The Mavericks still have the opportunity to be an elite team in the postseason this year, but they have to build up so momentum once the All-Star break comes to a close, and they could certainly use some more depth at the backup wing or big man position. Something else that can help the Mavericks maximize their lineup ahead of the playoffs would be to get Klay Thompson more involved offensively.

Kidd must keep running actions to unlock Thompson’s offense

Dallas was trending toward making Thompson more of a focal point in their offense back in December, but Thompson hasn’t been allotted the same level of spacing or looks with Doncic out of the lineup due to injury. In Dallas’ last two contests, though, Thompson has attempted 15 field goals each, and it has revolutionized Dallas’ offense. Kidd emphasizing getting Thompson more touches has been game-changing for the Mavs’ offense, but it wasn’t always this way.

Prior to Dallas’ last two games, Thompson had only attempted 15 or more field goals twice in the entire month of January, which simply isn’t enough for a movement shooter of his pedigree, even if buckets were harder to come by with Doncic sidelined. The Mavericks and their coaching staff were adamant about getting Thompson more involved offensively earlier in the season, but it seems like that notion shifted until very recently.

Dallas has gotten more creative with their off-ball actions to get Thompson open recently, as they are using a variety of pin-down, back screens, and cross screens to feed Thompson open looks on the perimeter and as a cutter. These actions tend to be more fruitful with Doncic in the game, but the Mavericks should’ve been trying to get Thompson more involved offensively all throughout January, as it could’ve been the perfect time to let Thompson get more comfortable as a secondary ball handler.

Dallas’ offense is best maximized when Thompson is hitting on all cylinders, and while they don’t need to force the ball down his throat when he’s having an off shooting night, they could definitely look at him as a source of offense in pivotal scenarios more often. On the contrary, when Thompson is on a heater like he was during the first quarter of Dallas’ Monday night victory over the Washington Wizards, the Mavericks need to do anything they can to keep getting him the ball, as Thompson made seven 3-pointers in the first quarter of that game.

Thompson getting going from beyond the arc like that pays huge dividends for Dallas’ offense, as it gives Thompson the ability to use his pump fake and playmaking abilities more successfully when the defense is pressed to contain his outside shooting. Kidd even referenced this after Dallas’ win over Washington on Monday.

“We set screens, we ran stuff for him,” Kidd said. “He responded in a positive way. Klay is very unselfish…[his teammates] made a conscious effort to get Klay going early and he responded in a positive way and just made the game easier for everybody else.”

Kidd has done a phenomenal job at encouraging his team to find Thompson over the last few games, and this level of urgency must continue moving forward to fully unlock his game.

Jason Kidd, the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, made a critical mistake in the game against the Golden State Warriors by leaving Klay Thompson open for multiple three-point shots. Thompson, known for his sharpshooting ability, capitalized on the defensive lapse and helped the Warriors secure a crucial win.

In order to prevent similar mistakes in the future, Kidd must quickly correct his error and make a key change in the team’s defensive strategy. This may include assigning a more tenacious defender on Thompson or implementing tighter rotations to prevent open looks from beyond the arc.

It is imperative that Kidd addresses this issue promptly and ensures that his team is better prepared to defend against elite shooters like Thompson. Making this key change could make a significant difference in the Mavericks’ performance and help them secure more victories in the future.

Wheel of Fortune fans believe the latest contestant deserved to lose money.

The ABC game show’s final round has made headlines lately as contestants have won shocking sums that caused one to ram into Ryan Seacrest and push him over. The host even had to check someone’s earpiece after an incredible answer.

However, it seems the luck has run out as a contestant made a mistake that according to fans, easily could’ve been avoided.

Singer Tamika Star starred on the latest episode of the game show and faced off against Max Nussenbaum from Brooklyn, New York, and Rebecca Levin, from San Diego, California. • Door swings open for Packers to undo costly Quinyon Mitchell mistake

The Green Bay Packers may not have admitted it, but they desperately needed cornerback help last offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles agreed and made sure to land their top targets ahead of the Packers.

They selected Quinyon Mitchell three selections before Green Bay hit the clock in the first round. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman then traded one spot ahead of the Packers to land Cooper DeJean. We may never know whether the Packers would’ve drafted DeJean, but their decision to immediately trade down was interesting, to say the least.

Mitchell and DeJean made the PFWA All-Rookie Team and are finalists for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

While Mitchell went ahead of Green Bay, there was nothing stopping general manager Brian Gutekunst from trading ahead of Philadelphia in a reverse of what happened a day later. It was no secret that the Eagles needed cornerback help, and they made it their priority to find upgrades.

A year later, the Super Bowl-bound Eagles have an elite secondary, while the Packers’ glaring cornerback issue has become even more urgent. Eric Stokes hits free agency after a disappointing season, while Jaire Alexander faces an uncertain future in Green Bay.

Fortunately, the Packers could fix that problem in this year’s draft.

Packers should pay attention as Senior Bowl star draws Quinyon Mitchell comparisons

It’s Senior Bowl week, and the Packers love drafting players who perform well in Mobile, Alabama. Mitchell began to skyrocket his draft stock by turning heads at the Senior Bowl, and ESPN’s Jordan Reid expects something similar from Florida State cornerback Azareye’h Thomas.

“Thomas will have a Quinyon Mitchell-like week that will result in his draft stock rising into the top-20 range,” predicts Reid. “He has plenty of length at 6-foot-2, 198 pounds, and Thomas’ ability as a true press man corner will shine in one-on-one drills.”

There’s a lot to love about Thomas’ potential. He was a lockdown corner at Florida State — quarterbacks were scared to throw his way. According to Pro Football Focus, he only faced 33 targets in his coverage this year, giving up just 17 completions for 141 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. That’s a passer rating of 50.2.

As Reid notes, Thomas has great length and has experience playing a lot of press coverage. Jeff Hafley used more zone than expected this season, but if the Packers improve their pass rush and add a corner like Thomas, he could start lining up with more press-man looks.

Participating in the Senior Bowl is almost a prerequisite for getting drafted by the Packers.

Last year, they selected six Senior Bowl participants, including several high picks: Jordan Morgan, Javon Bullard, MarShawn Lloyd, Evan Williams, Kitan Oladapo, and Michael Pratt.

It was a similar story in 2023. Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Karl Brooks, and Grant Dubose played in front of Packers scouts in Mobile.

Thomas might not become a finalist for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year as Mitchell has. That would place unfair expectations on him. But if he tests well and puts in a strong Senior Bowl performance, he could secure a spot high on the Packers’ draft board.

    More Packers news and analysis

The Green Bay Packers have been given a second chance to rectify their costly mistake in the 2021 NFL Draft. With the recent news that Quinyon Mitchell, the player they selected in the fourth round, has been ruled ineligible to play due to academic issues, the door has swung open for the Packers to make a different move.

This unexpected turn of events has forced the Packers to reassess their draft strategy and potentially make a different selection to fill the void left by Mitchell. With training camp quickly approaching, the team must act swiftly to address this sudden setback.

While losing a draft pick due to off-field issues is never ideal, the Packers now have an opportunity to make a more informed decision and avoid repeating the same mistake. The pressure is on for the team to make the most of this second chance and find a player who can contribute positively to their roster.

As the Packers regroup and move forward, all eyes will be on how they handle this unexpected turn of events and whether they can turn this negative situation into a positive outcome for the team. Only time will tell if the door swinging open for the Packers will lead to a better outcome in the end.

  • Sen. Lindsey Graham says he thinks Trump pardoning violent Jan. 6 defendants was ‘a mistake’

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Sunday said he believes it was “a mistake” for President Donald Trump to pardon those who were convicted of violent crimes or pleaded guilty to committing violent crimes during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol.

“Pardoning the people who went into the Capitol and beat up a police officer violently I think was a mistake, because it seems to suggest that’s an OK thing to do,” Graham told NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”

Graham tied Trump’s decision to pardon violent offenders with former President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon several of his family members during his last few hours in office last week.

“You know, Biden pardoned half his family going out the door. I think most Americans, if this continues … will revisit the pardon power of the president, if this continues,” Graham told “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker.

He added, “As to pardoning violent people who beat up cops, I think that’s a mistake.”

On Monday, just hours after he was sworn in to a second term, Trump used his presidential pardon power to pardon roughly 1,500 of his supporters who pleaded guilty or were convicted for their actions on Jan. 6, fulfilling one of his most oft-repeated campaign promises.

His pardons included those who were found guilty of or pleaded guilty to committing violent crimes on a day when over 140 police officers were injured.

Still, Graham emphasized that Trump’s decision to pardon his supporters was fulfilling a promise he made on the campaign trail.

“There are a lot of people who supported President Trump — law enforcement — [that] didn’t like this, but he said it during the campaign. He’s not tricking people,” Graham said.

He added, “I’ll be consistent here. I don’t like the idea of bailing people out of jail or pardoning people who burn down cities and beat up cops, whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat.”

In a recent interview, Sen. Lindsey Graham expressed his disapproval of former President Trump’s decision to pardon individuals involved in the violent insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. Graham stated that he believed it was “a mistake” for Trump to pardon these individuals, as their actions were a direct attack on democracy and the rule of law.

Graham, a staunch supporter of Trump throughout his presidency, has been vocal in his criticism of the violent events that unfolded on January 6th. He has called for those responsible to be held accountable for their actions and has pushed for a thorough investigation into the events leading up to the insurrection.

While Graham has not always seen eye-to-eye with Trump, his stance on the pardons reflects a growing sense of unease among some Republicans about the former president’s actions in the aftermath of the Capitol attack. As the investigation into the events of January 6th continues, it remains to be seen how other members of the GOP will respond to Trump’s actions and what impact they may have on the party going forward.

  • Bill Gates calls divorcing wife Melinda Gates ‘the mistake I regret the most’

Billionaire Bill Gates admitted that he’s “cheerful now” but revealed that his divorce from Melinda French Gates after 27 years of marriage is “the mistake I regret the most.”

“The divorce thing was miserable for me and Melinda for at least two years,” Bill told The Times of London on Saturday.

The Microsoft co-founder had hoped his marriage to Melinda would be as successful as his parents Bill Sr. and Mary, who lived together for 45 years.

“There is a certain wonderfulness to spending your entire adult life with one person because of the memories and depth of things you have done and having kids together,” Gates said.

They got married on New Year’s Day in 1994 and went on to share kids Jennifer, 28, Rory, 25, and Phoebe, 22

“When Melinda and I met, I was fairly successful but not ridiculously successful — that came during the time that we were together,” the 69-year-old said. “So, she saw me through a lot.”

In 2021, Bill and Melinda announced their divorce after secretly separating the year before, saying they could no longer “grow together as a couple in this next phase of life.”

“When we got divorced it was tough and then she made the decision to leave the foundation — I was disappointed that she took the option to go off,” Bill said.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world, changed its name to The Gates Foundation when Melinda resigned in 2024 a few years after the split.

Bill admitted that he “caused pain” to his family when “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie asked the tech leader if infidelity played a role in the divorce during a 2022 interview — but didn’t share too many details.

That same year, Melinda went on “CBS Mornings” and hinted that her then-husband’s working relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was also a factor in their split.

“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” Melinda said. “He was abhorrent. He was evil personified.”

When Melinda, 60, filed the divorce papers, Bill was worth $130 billion.

The couple did not have a prenup but they did have a “separation agreement” to lay out the terms of the split.

In 2023, Bill started dating Paula Hurd, a former tech executive at NCR Global and widow of Oracle CEO Mark Hurd.

Melinda went public with her boyfriend entrepreneur Philip Vaughn in October 2024.

“Melinda and I still see each other — we have three kids and two grandchildren so there are family events. The kids are doing well. They have good values,” Bill said.

In a recent interview, Bill Gates opened up about his divorce from his wife of 27 years, Melinda Gates, calling it “the mistake I regret the most.” The couple announced their split in May 2021, shocking the world and sparking speculation about the reasons behind their separation.

Gates, who co-founded Microsoft and is one of the wealthiest people in the world, admitted that he made many mistakes in his marriage and that he takes full responsibility for the breakdown of their relationship. He expressed remorse for the pain and hurt he caused Melinda and their three children, acknowledging that he could have done things differently.

Despite their divorce, Gates emphasized that he still has a close and respectful relationship with Melinda, whom he described as a “truly amazing person.” He praised her philanthropic work and her dedication to making the world a better place, saying that he will always be grateful for the time they spent together.

The couple’s divorce settlement was finalized in August 2021, with Melinda receiving a significant portion of their assets and pledging to continue their philanthropic efforts through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. While their marriage may have ended, it is clear that their partnership in philanthropy will endure.

As Bill Gates reflects on his past mistakes and regrets, he remains optimistic about the future and committed to using his wealth and influence for the greater good. Despite the challenges of divorce, he is determined to learn from his experiences and grow as a person, both personally and professionally.
