Piden sucursal de BancoEstado en Lontué: Alcalde de Molina entrega solicitud formal
Desde la entidad financiera se comprometieron a estudiar la factibilidad y entregar pronto una respuesta.
MOLINA. Haciendo eco del sentir de generaciones enteras que han tenido que trasladarse de ciudad para realizar sus trámites, el alcalde de Molina, Felipe Méndez, entregó una solicitud oficial para que Lontué tenga una sucursal de BancoEstado.
En dependencias de la casa matriz de la entidad financiera en la Región Metropolitana, el jefe comunal se reunió con la vicepresidenta de BancoEstado, Verónica Kunze, a quien le planteó la necesidad que desde hace años se viene evidenciando en la histórica ciudad lontuenina. “Hemos llegado hasta las oficinas centrales de BancoEstado acá en Santiago, para reunirnos con su vicepresidenta con la misión de entregarle la solicitud formal para que Lontué pueda tener una sucursal de BancoEstado Express y esperamos tener novedades pronto”, señaló el jefe edilicio.
Además, la máxima autoridad molinense recordó que también existen datos demográficos que sostienen la petición de contar con estos servicios, en una ciudad que cuenta con casi 25 mil habitantes.
PRONTA RESPUESTA
Tras recibir la misiva, Verónica Kunze, vicepresidenta de BancoEstado, manifestó que “analizaremos la solicitud, estudiaremos su factibilidad y entregaremos una respuesta. Si no puede ser una sucursal, veremos qué alternativas tiene el banco para entregar a la comunidad”. El plazo autoimpuesto por la entidad financiera para contestar sería cercano a los tres meses.
La cita se enmarca dentro de una mesa de trabajo a la que concurrieron alcaldes de diversas comunas de la Región del Maule, siendo convocada por el diputado Alexis Sepúlveda para que los jefes comunales puedan visibilizar las problemáticas que aquejan a los maulinos.
El alcalde de Molina, Luis Vásquez, entregó una solicitud formal a BancoEstado para la instalación de una sucursal en la localidad de Lontué.En una reunión con representantes del banco, el alcalde expresó la necesidad de contar con una sucursal en la zona, ya que actualmente los habitantes de Lontué deben trasladarse a localidades cercanas para realizar trámites bancarios.
Vásquez destacó que la presencia de BancoEstado en Lontué facilitaría el acceso a servicios financieros a los vecinos, impulsando el desarrollo económico de la comuna.
La solicitud ha sido respaldada por la comunidad y se espera que BancoEstado evalué la posibilidad de abrir una sucursal en Lontué en un futuro cercano.

Thousands celebrate New Year’s Eve in downtown LA
Gloria Molina Grand Park in downtown LA held a massive New Year’s Eve party.
LOS ANGELES – An estimated 25,000 people flocked to downtown LA Tuesday night to celebrate the New Year.
The massive celebration at Gloria Molina Grand Park is known to be the West Coast’s largest free New Year’s Eve event.
It featured local and international artists performing global music on two stages and a seven-minute art show projected onto City Hall at midnight.
Gloria Molina Grand Park’s NYELA began at 8 p.m. and encompasses the six blocks that comprise the park.
The Countdown Stage in the park’s Block 4 between Broadway and Spring Street was hosted by Novena Carmel from KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic.”
The hip-hop band Weapons of Mass Creation performed from 8:45-9:35 p.m. followed by Puerto Rican producer and multi-instrumentalist Pachy “Pachyman” Garcia from 9:55-10:45 p.m. and the Brooklyn-based afrobeat band Antibalas from 11:05-11:55 p.m.
The Get Down Stage, on the Performance Lawn between Grand Avenue and Hill Street, was hosted by the DJ-host-producer Midi Riperton, formerly known as Sammi G. It featured an all-female lineup of DJs spinning electronic dance music, beginning with DJ Sparkle and DJ Mak-10 from Girls Make Beats, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of female music producers, DJs and audio engineers.
The art show highlights Los Angeles’ beauty, diversity, culture and natural landscapes and seeks to heighten Angelenos’ “awareness of environmental green living,” according to organizers.
Parking is available at the Music Center garage and the Walt Disney Concert Hall garage for $10 per vehicle.
Attendees are highly encouraged to take public transportation. Gloria Molina Grand Park is located at the Civic Center/Grand Park station on the Metro B (Red) and Metro D (Purple) lines.
Metro rides will be free from 4 a.m. Tuesday through 3 a.m. Wednesday.
There will be three specially marked entrances to Grand Park:
— Hill and First streets;
— Broadway and Second Street. and
— Hill and Temple streets.

— a family-friendly New Year’s Eve ice skating experience with a countdown to midnight Eastern Time at Ice at Santa Monica at 1324 Fifth St.
