First thoughts: I love this thing. My only complaint is that I cannot fit my iPad Pro 12.9” with my low profile case. Not a fan of having to go caseless, although, I knew it most likely wouldn’t fit based on reviews. Luckily, my case is easy to take on and off.I love that my iPhone 11 Max Pro also fits in this thing so it has a dual use.The iPad and phone fit very securely when the grips are locked. The only way they are moving is by force. The release mechanism works well, and both are easy to remove. The grips do feel a little cheap, but don’t seem flimsy if you know what I mean. I think they are most likely made that way to avoid adding extra weight to the clamp. The tail seems very stable, but I did just take it out of the box. I will update if it becomes loose with use. I looked everywhere for something like this, and the only one I could find did not seem nearly as good. I think the reviews on this are misleading, since most of them are so old. There have obviously been upgrades and changes to this product since it was first released. So far, I have no real complaints! The price is a little high, but worth it for something so unique and useful, that is well made.
This thing feels like a high-end medical device it's so well made. The only plastic feeling thing about it is the jaws, so I'm hoping that part doesn't eventually break over time. I'm fitting a 12.9" ipad pro into it and its only like 1 or 2 small clicks from its widest setting and it grips it well and so far keeps it in place nicely. The 360 degree rotation ability it has is amazing, very easy and smooth. The Flexible stand is incredible and can be used in so many different ways.

I REALLY want to give this 5 stars but it doesn’t fit the iPad Pro 12.9 as easily as I would’ve liked. I have to “pop” it in as the arms that hold it don’t open wide enough for it to slide easily it. It feels like I am forcing it in and I’m afraid it will break. Also, the swivel head won’t lock for me. I’ve tried and tried but I can’t get the pieces to lock like the directions say they should.
I use this for teaching music lessons and it has been an incredible addition to my studio. I am able to put the iPad anywhere, on the extra piano key cover, or move it to the top of the piano while I’m playing without worrying about it falling or tipping. I can type directly on the iPad and it is sturdy. All my students and their parents think it’s way cool. It is small enough to fit anywhere I need it to which is great in my studio as space is limited and using a tripod to record lessons or conduct FaceTime lessons took up valuable floor space. With this I can place the iPad anywhere I need it, adjust it how I need, and move on with the lesson. It’s just super convenient to take the iPad anywhere I need work and it fit without having 10 different contraptions.
It’s also very handy in the kitchen for viewing recipes and whatnot. I like that I can turn the iPad vertical or horizontal very easily while I’m working. Was a great purchase just could be slightly better.
Does not hold in multiple ways as claimed. The "tail" is rather short and round, therefore it's unstable unless you create a large loop at the base as shown in one picture. I tried sticking it between my sofa, bed mattress, even under my leg and it won't hold. It keeps turning and falling down as the tail is round and turns easily, and you need a large "base" to hold the weight of the tablet and tail up. It implies it can be flexible and has a large range of movement/uses, but is in fact quite limited in which positions it can hold. Basically, it can really only hold one position well–a loopy circular base created by the tail, sitting on a solid surface like a desk. This would prop up your tablet about 8" up. That's about it. Also, the head can swivel the tablet 180 degrees clockwise and counter clockwise within the tablet plane, but it cannot bend downwards or upwards; not like a ball/socket design. To have your tablet face up or down, you have to bend the tail and then it's no longer stable since you've changed the angle of the neck/base and it will keep falling. I'm returning it for another one with better design for using my tablet while sitting or lying down.
PERFECT! For anyone who is wondering: This WILL hold a 1st generation iPad just as well as it does the iPad Air. The 1st generation iPad is just a bit heavier, but honestly there isn't too much difference at all and it will most definitely hold it just as securely as with the iPad Air. In fact, now I wish I had 2 Spider Monkeys for both my iPads!
Like many other reviewers, I bought this because I have painful neck & back issues, it even hurts to hold the iPad in my hands. I spend much of my days in a reclined position, but I also move around a lot from couch to bed, tossing & turning, etc. So I wanted something easy to carry around with me and also easy to quickly readjust to different positions throughout the day.
There are so many ways to adjust and "anchor" the tail. And, as flexible and easy as the tail is to adjust, it is also surprisingly strong! The claws are also very secure! I have no concerns of the the tablets slipping out at all, even if carrying it around face down by the tail. The main thing is to ensure the tablet is secured into the clamps properly -following the simple instructions that come with the Spider Monkey.
My only regret is that the "tail" isn't longer because I'd love to sometimes lay flat on my back and have the tablet facing straight down at me. It certainly is strong enough to hold such a position, but just too short to achieve it without having the tablet right in front of your nose. But, I'm working on maybe getting something set up where I can suspend this from the ceiling.
What a fantastic, easy & well designed item. This was very much worth the investment!
I dont have the habit of writing reviews, but I believe this product worth it.
I was not sure to buy the Octa Spider Monkey because of few reviews saying the Surface Pro is too heavy to use with. So I sent an email to Octa about this concern. I received an answer very quickly. They were explaining me that it's just a question of finding the right curve and balance with the tail and they directed me to tutorials on youtube to understand.
So I decided to give it a try. I bought it (the shipping was extremely fast) and they were right… It works fine even with an heavier tablet like the Surface Pro 4.
I use it either as Portrait or Landscape mode. The tail and the spider are strong enough.
Depending of what your desk or table is made of, you may notice that the screen shakes a little bit when typing on a keyboard because of the tail absorbing the vibrations from the surface where it's placed and transfering them to the tablet. It's less of a problem on a wood surface. If your desk is made of metal like mine, it will shakes more.
My only concern now is if the tail will keep its strength or become loose over time. Too soon to say anything about that.

I have been using a few of these now for over 2 years. The biggest and heaviest device I use the most is an iPad (4th generation). Works amazingly well with iPad mini.
Spider The Spider clamp is cleverly built and grips very well. It combines geared-clamps mechanism and rubberise hooks. It looks great and fill solid. It functions with 1 single push-button. Extremely easy to use. It will not budge and will stay attach to your device for weeks without losing its grip. I also like the way it closes nicely into a disc shape making it convenient to carry around in a bag or pocket sleeve. I cannot fault it at all. You will not be disappointed. The grip is the important bit and Octa have mastered it, in style.
Tail It feels good as soon as you grab it. The materials are very nice and have durability. The torque-clip mechanism use to attach and lock the tail is very simple to use. However… the Tail will be challenging at first. Gravity is your friend and your enemy here. It takes a bit of practice to get it right at first. A bit like balancing a stick on the point of your finger. I recommend you check the Octa’s videos and/or read the booklet provided. The Tail is not just a twisty tube holding any random shape. The coil must be positioned properly to counter the weight of your device. Practice the standard ‘S’ shape method first as explained by Octa. Basic physics here really. This is not intended to put you off. You just need to understand the nature of the product to take advantage of it. You will have the hang of it in no time anyway.
So, yes, you may hesitate. It is not the cheapest stand out there. But it is, by far, the nicest, coolest and versatile. The quality build and look is great without diminishing the style of your device. The lighter your device, the better. Plus Octa’s other parts are all compatible bringing extra adaptability. I bought several of these as gifts for my friends and family. Everyone likes it and, most importantly, is using it.
And… I have been in touch with the Octa team in America and these guys are passionate and dedicated. They indeed value customer. They will be there to support you if you have a (unlikely) problem with their products.
Rechtfertigt keinen Punktabzug! Ich bin total zufrieden!

Here’s all the Bad Monkey Season 2 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a Bad Monkey Season 2 release date?
Bad Monkey Season 2 will happen, but the release date has not yet been announced.
Apple TV Plus recently renewed the show for a second season. However, it will reportedly not be based on the novel’s sequel titled “Razor Girl.” Showrunner Bill Lawrence opened up on the series, stating, To get to go on telling his story with Vince Vaughn and this great cast, at least the characters who are still alive, is very exciting.” He further added, I’m very thankful to our partners at Apple TV+ and Warner Bros, as well as the entire team that helps bring this show to life” (via Apple TV+ Press).
Fans need to wait for an official update from the makers regarding the Bad Monkey Season 2’s official release date.
Where is Bad Monkey Season 2 coming out?
Bad Monkey Season 2 will come out on Apple TV Plus.
The first season was released on Apple TV Plus, so Season 2 will also drop on the same platform.
The star cast of the series features Vince Vaughn, L. Scott Caldwell, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, and many others in key roles.
As fans eagerly await news of a potential second season of the hit show “Is There a Bad Monkey,” many are left wondering if and when the release date will be announced. The show, which follows the misadventures of a group of mischievous monkeys, has captured the hearts of viewers with its hilarious antics and lovable characters.
While there has been no official announcement regarding a second season, rumors have been circulating that the show’s creators are hard at work on new episodes. With the success of the first season, it seems likely that a second season will be in the works.
So, is there a Bad Monkey Season 2 release date on the horizon? While nothing has been confirmed, fans remain hopeful that their favorite monkeys will be back on screen soon. Stay tuned for updates and keep your fingers crossed for more monkey mayhem in the future!

The 2025 movie schedule is in full swing and, while we’re still early into the new year, a number of exciting titles either have released or are just around the corner. In that latter category is Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey – an upcoming Stephen King movie. Over the past year, horror hounds have received teases of the flick and, now, it’s officially screened for critics. Fans will be happy to hear that pundits are praising Perkins’ latest cinematic venture, and they’re bringing up two key elements while doing so.
For those who aren’t familiar, The Monkey is adapted from Stephen King’s 1980 short story of the same name. The film follows two brothers who, after finding a vintage toy monkey belonging to their father, witness a number of gruesome deaths. While the siblings try to distance themselves from the eerie vibes of the item, they eventually seek to put an end to its curse for good. CinemaBlend’s resident Stephen King fan, Eric Eisenberg, was among those to see the film, and he highlighted comedy and gore while talking up the film on Bluesky:
Osgood Perkins’ THE MONKEY is super over the top, really disgusting, and a blast. It has a blunt comedic sensibility that pairs wonderfully with its extreme gore, and it successfully earns the superlative ‘Funniest Stephen King Movie.’
Some may be surprised to hear “funniest” when it comes to a film adapted from the work of the iconic It writer. Yet the film’s humor is actually one of the elements that critics keep bringing up along with the extreme kills. On X, film critic Jeff Ewing also used branded the film with the same superlative that Eisenberg (who believed this could be the goriest King adaptation) bestowed upon the movie and also hyped up the brutal nature of the movie:
Very genuinely, [The Monkey] was one of the funniest horror comedies I’ve seen in a long time. It’s clever, flawlessly timed, and the gore is absolutely fucked up. I’ll never look at a toy again. Just… at all.
It sounds like any toy aficionados out there may want to give some serious consideration as to whether they want to dive into this crazy-sounding flick. Nevertheless, based on the sentiments that critic Courtney Howard shared on X, this movie is more than worth a watch. She not only lauded the wild kills but she also praised the “deadpan delivery” of one particular star, which I’d imagine added to the film’s comedy:
Osgood Perkins’ [The Monkey] fuckin’ cooks. It’s BANANAS! An outlandishly demented, coked-up ride. Slick, stylized & sadistic. Gnarly, gleefully fresh kills & thrills – a la Rube Goldberg machines/ Final Destination-inspired demises. Theo James’ deadpan delivery impresses.
This certainly tracks, as Theo James – who plays twin brothers Hal and Bill – is a talented actor In this film, he’s also joined by a lineup of talented performers like Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood and Sarah Levy. Of course, credit must also go to director Osgood Perkins, who more than made his mark on the horror genre last year with the well-reviewed Longlegs. When it comes to Perkins’ latest film, critic Eric Goldman took to X to also praise the gore and comedy while also favorably comparing the movie to a beloved horror franchise:
[The Monkey] is a bloody blast. A big shift away from the feel of Longlegs, the movie is a full on horror-comedy with Osgood Perkins having a ton of fun going into Final Destination territory with one crazy-gory-twisted death after another.
Those who’ve watched the Final Destination films likely know how crazy that franchise’s kills are, so this is serious praise. TheWrap’s Drew Taylor also joined in the wave of positivity on X by praising Osgood Perkins’ film for being “funny,” “scary” and more and, with that, he also likened it to a classic horror comedy:
Adored [The Monkey]. Oz Perkins has been one of the most exciting genre filmmakers since he started and his latest is about as good a time as you can have at the movies – funny, scary, poignant and so, so fun. A rare movie that can be compared to Gremlins in terms of giddy chaos.
So, based on what critics are saying right now, it sounds like the big laughs and intense kills make The Monkey worth the price of admission. Previously, Osgood Perkins made this film sound unlike any other Stephen King adaptation before it, and there’s seemingly reason to be confident in that assessment now. Of course, to form your own thoughts, you’ll just have to see the film for yourself when it opens in theaters on February 21.
