    On Thursday around 8:37 p.m. Marshalltown Police Officers were dispatched to Jiffy Mart for an armed robbery. The victim told police that the suspect pointed a firearm at them and demanded money before fleeing on foot.

    Officers responded to the area and found a suspect matching the description given by the victim and a witness.

    The suspect, identified as 42-year-old John David Henderson, attempted to flee from officers, but he was taken into custody shortly after. The firearm was also recovered by police.

    Henderson faces charges of:

    • First-Degree Robbery
    • Going Armed With Intent
    • Interference With Official Acts
    • Public Intoxication

    Henderson is being held in the Marshall County Jail.

    MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (KCRG) – A 42-year-old man is facing charges after Marshalltown police officers say he attempted to rob a Jiffy Mart.

    John David Henderson, age 42, of Montour, is facing charges including Robbery 1st Degree, Going Armed with Intent, and Public Intoxication.

    On Thursday, December 26, at 8:37pm, Marshalltown Police Officers responded to the Jiffy Mart for a robbery. The victim told officers Henderson had pointed a firearm and demanded money, then ran away.

    Officers found Henderson shortly after, and also recovered the firearm used.

    Mr. Henderson was taken to the Marshall County Jail and remains held pending an initial court appearance.
