  • Flyers trade Joel Farabee, Morgan Frost to Flames – NBC Sports Philadelphia

Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost played their last game with the Flyers on Thursday night.

The team sent both forwards to Calgary in a trade with the Flames. In return, the Flyers received Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, a 2025 second-round pick and 2028 seventh-round pick.

Reports of a trade being in the works surfaced late in the second period of the Flyers’ 3-0 loss to the Islanders.

Farabee and Frost were both first-round picks of the Flyers. For a while, they were viewed as potential foundation pieces. But over this season and last, they became change-of-scenery candidates on a rebuilding team.

Despite having a career year last season, Farabee was challenged by the Flyers in the summer to take the next step. His production tapered off in the second half, which made this season an important one for his future.

The winger was recently a healthy scratch for three straight games as his scoring and overall effectiveness just hadn’t been there. Farabee, who turns 25 years old next month, was in the third year of a six-year, $30 million contract.

Frost, 25, was a pending restricted free agent in the final year of his two-year, $4.2 million contract. The playmaking center had gone through his struggles with trying to appease head coach John Tortorella. Over time, it seemed to take a toll on Frost mentally.

Moving on from Farabee and Frost could not have been an easy call for Danny Briere and company. Both players are still relatively young with some upside still there.

But the Flyers have taken a step back this season, giving the general manager more incentive to make changes and start planning for the offseason. The Flyers have a chance to be creative this summer with more cap space and assets. With the acquisition of the second-round pick, the Flyers have seven selections in the first two rounds of the 2025 draft (three first-rounders, four second-rounders).

And there are still five weeks before the March 7 trade deadline.

More: Why trade Farabee, Frost? How will Flyers react? Briere, Tortorella discuss

Kuzmenko is a Russian winger who turns 29 next week. He’s on an expiring contract with a $5.5 million cap hit, making him an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. Kuzmenko put up 39 goals and 74 points as a rookie in 2022-23 with the Canucks. With the Flames this season, he had four goals and 11 assists in 37 games.

Pelletier, 23, also comes to the Flyers on an expiring contract. He’s a pending restricted free agent who was a first-round pick of Calgary in 2019. He had 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and a plus-10 mark in 24 games this season.

  • Kinder Morgan Announces the Advancement of $1.7B Gas Pipeline in Texas

Kinder Morgan KMI, a Houston-based midstream energy company, has announced that it will move forward with its $1.7 billion Trident Intrastate Pipeline project in Katy, TX. Once completed, this ambitious 216-mile pipeline will transport 1.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to Port Arthur. The project is scheduled to go live by the first quarter of 2027, contingent upon securing the necessary permits and approvals.

CEO Kim Dang highlighted that the pipeline’s development is strongly connected to the increasing energy needs of Texas’s growing AI data center sector, which has been a significant driver for the project. Kinder Morgan has already secured long-term contracts for the pipeline and two other major natural gas projects — South System Expansion 4 and Mississippi Crossing — with a combined projected cost of around $5 billion.

In its commitment to responsible development, Kinder Morgan highlighted that the Trident Intrastate Pipeline project is backed by long-term contracts. Additionally, the company is working closely with impacted landowners to address concerns regarding the pipeline’s route and construction.

The Trident project is part of a broader trend in Texas, where several energy infrastructure developments are being announced. Last month, Energy Transfer approved the final investment decision for the Hugh Brinson Pipeline, which will deliver 2.2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Similarly, WhiteWater Midstream revealed plans for a 2.5 billion cubic feet per day pipeline linking the Permian Basin to a gas hub near Corpus Christi. These projects reflect the increasing demand for natural gas in Texas and the ongoing efforts to expand the state’s energy infrastructure.

As Kinder Morgan advances with the Trident pipeline, the company is positioning itself to meet the future energy needs of both industrial growth and the digital economy, reinforcing Texas’ role as a critical player in the U.S. energy landscape.

Kinder Morgan currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).

Investors interested in the energy sector may look at some other top-ranked stocks like SM Energy Company SM, Sunoco LP SUN and Range Resources Corporation RRC. While SM Energy and Sunoco presently sport a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) each, Range Resources carries a Zacks Rank #2. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank stocks here.

SM Energy is set to expand its oil-centered operations in the coming years, with an increasing focus on crude oil, especially in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford regions. The company’s attractive oil and gas investments should create long-term value for shareholders.

Kinder Morgan, one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, has announced the advancement of a $1.7 billion gas pipeline project in Texas. The project, known as the Permian Highway Pipeline, will transport natural gas from the Permian Basin to the Gulf Coast.

This pipeline is a crucial piece of infrastructure that will help meet the growing demand for natural gas in Texas and beyond. It will provide much-needed capacity to transport gas from the prolific Permian Basin, one of the largest oil and gas producing regions in the United States.

The Permian Highway Pipeline is expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the region. It will also help reduce flaring and methane emissions by providing a more efficient way to transport natural gas to market.

Kinder Morgan’s commitment to investing in critical infrastructure like the Permian Highway Pipeline demonstrates their dedication to meeting the energy needs of Texas and the broader market. With construction already underway, the pipeline is expected to be operational by the end of 2022.

Overall, this project represents a significant milestone in Kinder Morgan’s efforts to support the responsible development of natural gas resources in Texas and contribute to a more sustainable energy future.

  • Morgan Wallen fans left disappointed over country star’s ‘I’m the Problem’ tour

Country fans were upset Morgan Wallen seemingly missed a few stops on his upcoming tour to support his fourth studio album.

Wallen, 31, revealed he’ll hit the road this summer on the “I’m the Problem” tour, but devoted followers were disappointed the “Last Night” singer only had a handful of dates slated around the country, as opposed to his last two-year “One Night At a Time” tour.

Set to launch in Houston, Texas, in June, Wallen will have a rotating lineup of guests for the tour, including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and Koe Wetzel.

“Where is the east coast and the south on here?? VA, SC, GA, TN,” one fan wrote after Wallen shared his new tour announcement.

Another fan wondered the same, and wrote, “Where’s the east coast!? The south!?!? Morgan you got some splainin to do!”

“What is this tour schedule,” another user questioned on Instagram. “Closest I’ve is a 9hr drive from ga. You better be adding more in the south.”

One fan wrote, “Only Wisconsin for the Midwest??? Shame. Minnesota sold out both your dates on the last tour.”

“NY dates!? Please tell me you’re adding more dates,” one Wallen fan wrote, while others worried about the price tag to attend a show. “Lower the price big dawg $600 is crazy,” one fan wrote.

Despite the complaints about locations, the “Whiskey Glasses” singer had thousands of people praising his name and waiting for the day they could see Wallen in concert.

“Let this man throw as many chairs as he wants,” one fan joked, alluding to Wallen’s 2024 chair-throwing incident when he was arrested outside of Eric Church’s Nashville bar.

The “Chasing You” singer was “cooperating fully” with the investigation, a rep for the musician told Fox News Digital at the time. He was originally charged with disorderly conduct — a misdemeanor — and three counts of felony reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

Wallen, who was charged with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, pleaded guilty, according to Fox 17. Judge Cynthia Chappell sentenced the country music star to seven days at a DUI education center, along with two years of supervised probation.

Another Canadian fan begged, “Americans stay out of Toronto. This is our time. You have your own dates.”

“Stop the whiney nonsense,” one fan wrote. “True fans travel!!! I’m excited to go just 5 hours over my 12 hour trip last year!”

In the 10 years since he released his debut EP and became a professional singer-songwriter, Wallen has broken records left and right and earned acclaim among his peers in the country music community.

“We made so many lifelong memories on the ‘One Night at a Time World Tour,’ and I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for my fans and the way they showed up each night,” Wallen said in a statement. “As I’ve been working on new music, it has inspired me to get back on the road and share these new songs with each of you on the ‘I’m the Problem Tour.’ See y’all there.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to a rep for Wallen for comment.

Fox News Digital’s Lauryn Overhultz contributed to this report.

Country star Morgan Wallen recently announced his ‘I’m the Problem’ tour, but fans are feeling anything but pleased. Many fans were excited to see Wallen perform live, but disappointment quickly set in when they realized the tour title was a reflection of Wallen’s recent controversies.

Wallen faced backlash earlier this year after a video surfaced of him using a racial slur. Despite issuing apologies and taking steps to educate himself on the impact of his words, the controversy still lingers for many fans.

With the tour title seemingly addressing Wallen’s past behavior, some fans are feeling let down and questioning whether they want to support an artist with such a tarnished reputation. Others are conflicted, torn between their love for Wallen’s music and their disapproval of his actions.

As the tour dates approach, it remains to be seen how fans will respond. Will they choose to overlook Wallen’s past transgressions and enjoy the music, or will they opt to stay away in protest? Only time will tell.

    About Morgan Wallen

Dubbed Country’s “dominant superstar” by Stereogum with more than 3.1 million fans attending his One Night At A Time World Tour, the genre’s highest-selling tour ever, two-time 2025 GRAMMY nominee Morgan Wallen is entering 2025 with a refreshed setlist at hand, releasing new music, and preparing to headline his I’m The Problem Tour beginning June 20 in Houston, Texas. Before the tour kicks off, Wallen’s all-genre Sand In My Boots Music Festival, which sold out in less than 2 hours, hits Gulf Shores, Alabama in May.

With both Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing At A Time checking in at No. 1 and 6 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums of the 21st Century, respectively, Wallen’s reign atop the charts has landed him 19 Billboard Music Awards to-date in just four years. The instant success of One Thing At A Time left The New York Times proclaiming Wallen as “one of the biggest stars in pop, period.” Recent release “Love Somebody” debuted at No. 1 globally across five countries and 11 charts, leading Wallen to become the first artist to have three singles sit atop the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously.

    About Brooks & Dunn

Once artists like Brooks & Dunn hit the Country Music Hall of Fame, folks don’t expect much in the way of new ideas. But, thirty-plus years into their career, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn long ago dialed in their generation-defining sound and style. The best-selling duo of all time, their yin-and-yang country-rock blend has earned them 20 Number Ones – plenty of material to fill stadium-rocking set lists. And with a Grammy-winning, course-of-history shifting catalog written mostly themselves, they could rest easy knowing without doubt they left a permanent mark on the American songbook. But Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have always been the restless type. Out now via Sony Music Nashville, REBOOT II is the sequel to their acclaimed 2019 album REBOOT and follows the same format of giving today’s most engaging artists in and out of country music the near-impossible task of reimagining an iconic Brooks & Dunn song; except this time, the artists were given maximum creative freedom. With styles ranging from progressive country and classic bluegrass to heavy metal, orchestral pop, and beyond, the very fabric of songs most country fans know by heart was transformed. Whether it was ‘90s grunge, ‘70s style studio rock, or swampy soul, the duo encouraged each artist to throw out the playbook. REBOOT II’s 18 tracks include reinterpreted hits such as “Neon Moon,” “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” and “Believe,” resulting in a dynamic and eclectic collection that spans genres and generations. Brooks & Dunn continue to break records, tallying the longest-running country music residency in Las Vegas, and criss-cross North America year after year on their sold-out tours. They recently announced 2025 dates for the first leg of their NEON MOON TOUR; for a full list of upcoming tour dates and to purchase tickets, visit www.brooks-dunn.com.

    About Miranda Lambert
Critically acclaimed groundbreaker/songwriter/superstar Miranda Lambert has defined her multi-faceted career as an artist, entertainer, entrepreneur, advocate and businesswoman with an unflinching quest for excellence, honesty and conviction. With her 10th solo studio album, Postcards from Texas, available everywhere now via Republic Records, the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history, including their top honor for Entertainer of the Year, has also won three GRAMMYs and 14 Country Music Association Awards. A TIME100 honoree and perennial best-of-the-year list maker at the New York Times, TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum, People and more, NPR has called her “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

A multi-dimensional superstar, she’s earned seven No. 1 solo albums, 10 No. 1 hit radio singles, more than 80 prestigious awards and countless RIAA certifications; conquered Las Vegas with her twice-extended Velvet Rodeo residency; blurred genres with Leon Bridges, the B-52s, Loretta Lynn, Enrique Iglesias, Sheryl Crow and Elle King; and delivered her LGBTQ+ inclusive anthem “Y’All Means All” for Netflix’s “Queer Eye.” Lambert has taken those standards to become a label co-founder, teaming with longtime collaborator Jon Randall to launch their own imprint, Big Loud Texas, in partnership with Big Loud Records. She is also a New York Times bestselling author and the first female restaurateur on Lower Broadway with her Tex-Mex cantina, Casa Rosa, while also expanding her creative reach with her Wanda June Home collection exclusive to Walmart and her Idyllwind clothing and boot line at Boot Barn. Her passion for rescue animals inspired the creation of her MuttNation Foundation, which has raised over $10 million since inception to promote adoption, support shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster.

    About Anne Wilson

One of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a revolution in modern music. The Lexington, Ky. native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL, fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of country. A bold musical statement with an even bolder message of faith, REBEL features her hopeful, healing debut country single “Rain In The Rearview” as well as chart-topping ballad “Strong,” which notched No. 1 at Christian radio. Also from REBEL, “Songs About Whiskey” continues to be heard on country airwaves, while “The Cross (with Chris Tomlin)” simultaneously spins at Christian radio. The genre-bending album follows her GRAMMY-nominated 2022 debut My Jesus, with the title track becoming a PLATINUM-certified No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, Wilson has tallied over one billion global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and wrapped her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour and recent 27-stop The REBEL Tour in fall 2024. Already named a Spotify Hot Country Artist to Watch, one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, and a 2024 Opry NextStage Artist, she has made high-profile appearances on TODAY and ACM Honors, while earning her first-ever CMT Music Awards nomination, as well as a Billboard Music Award. On October 25, Wilson released REBEL (Live From Lexington), a 10-track live record featuring standouts from her genre-blending album REBEL, as well as her breakout hit “My Jesus.” Unapologetically real, Wilson approaches her craft with a purpose and conviction that sets her apart.

  • 20 AI-Beneficiary Stock Picks From Morgan Stanley

    • Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty says AI adoption and its benefits are at a “tipping point.”
    • Companies with strong pricing power will see the most profit impact from AI investments, she said.
    • Huberty’s team identified 20 high-market-cap stocks with strong pricing power that have adopted AI.

Morgan Stanley’s Global Head of Research Katy Huberty says we’re at a “tipping point” when it comes to AI adoption. Businesses are starting to use the technology to boost their bottom lines — and they’re about to start reaping the benefits.

But some more so than others. Businesses with strong pricing power, or the ability to keep their prices high or even raise them thanks to very high demand, will see the most impact on their profits, Huberty said.

“What we’ve recommended to our clients is they should start thinking about pricing power,” Huberty told BI earlier this month. “Pricing power will allow the companies to retain the productivity that they experience on the back of these investments and not have to pass that on to the customer.”

It’s the next step in a yearslong secular bull trend for the broadening AI trade, she said.

“That’s one of the areas where alpha generation will come this year,” she said.

During the interview, Huberty pointed to a list of stocks that her team compiled in a January 6 client note. The stocks have high pricing power and are AI adopters. While 139 companies fit those criteria, the bank included on the list the 20 stocks with market caps over $20 billion.

The stocks are listed below in descending order of their market caps.

  • JPMorgan, Citi, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley Reap $145,680,000,000 in Profit in One Year

Six of the largest banks in the US recorded exceptional returns in 2024, despite recession fears and geopolitical uncertainty.

JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley printed $145.68 billion in combined profits last year, largely propelled by stellar performances in investment banking and dealmaking.

JPMorgan Chase witnessed a net income of $58.5 billion in 2024, with $14 billion in Q4 alone, due to increased investment and consumer banking activity.

    Says JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon,

“The US economy has been resilient. Unemployment remains relatively low, and consumer spending stayed healthy, including during the holiday season. Businesses are more optimistic about the economy, and they are encouraged by expectations for a more pro-growth agenda and improved collaboration between government and business.”

Bank of America generated a net income of $27.1 billion last year, driven by strong fee earnings. Wells Fargo had a net income of $19.7 billion in 2024 amid double-digit growth in both trading and investment banking.

Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs recorded $14.28 billion in net earnings last year as the firm ranked among the top across the globe in terms of completing mergers and acquisitions. Morgan Stanley reported $13.4 billion in net income in 2024 behind “strong results” across the firm’s business segments.

As for Citi, the bank posted $12.7 billion in profits last year amid “record years” in the firm’s Services, Wealth and US Personal Banking divisions.

Citing data from market analysis firm FactSet, the Financial Times reports that the combined profits posted by the six banks are a 20% increase from the earnings generated in 2023 and represent the second-highest on record in 17 years.

  • Why Liv Morgan Is Set For Major WWE WrestleMania Push – TJR Wrestling

Liv Morgan could be on the verge of a huge push ahead of WWE WrestleMania but it could mark a big change for the former Women’s World Champion.

Liv Morgan lost the Women’s World Championship to Rhea Ripley on Raw’s Netflix debut. That brought a 226-day title reign to an end that dated back to when Morgan dethroned Becky Lynch for the title in Saudi Arabia in May 2024.

Rhea Ripley successfully defended her title against Nia Jax at Saturday Night’s Main Event. With the Royal Rumble just around the corner, it seems Morgan could be in line for another big push but it doesn’t seem she’ll be going after Ripley’s gold once again.

Liv Morgan Going After Tag Team Gold?

PWInsider has reported that Morgan could be set for a push alongside her bodyguard Raquel Rodriguez as a tag team:

There’s been a lot of talk about Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez getting a big push as a tag team leading into Wrestlemania.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are former two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Bianca Belair and Naomi could need new challengers for that title heading into WrestleMania unless one of them wins the women’s Royal Rumble. With the suggestion that Morgan and Rodriguez will be a team, it seems unlikely that either one of them will win the Rumble match and book a singles world title match at WrestleMania 41.

Liv Morgan has been a standout talent in WWE for years, but it seems like the company is finally ready to give her the spotlight she deserves. With WrestleMania just around the corner, it looks like Liv Morgan is set for a major push that could see her become a top star in the company.

One of the reasons why Liv Morgan is primed for a WrestleMania push is her undeniable talent in the ring. Morgan has proven time and time again that she is a skilled performer, with a unique blend of athleticism and charisma that sets her apart from the rest of the roster. Her recent matches have been some of the best of her career, showcasing her ability to tell a story and connect with the audience in a way that few others can.

Another reason why Liv Morgan is poised for a WrestleMania push is her undeniable popularity with the WWE Universe. Fans have been rallying behind Morgan for years, cheering her on every step of the way. With her recent push and increased exposure on WWE programming, it’s clear that the company sees the potential in Morgan to become a fan favorite and a top star in the women’s division.

With all signs pointing towards a major push for Liv Morgan at WrestleMania, it’s only a matter of time before she takes her place among the top stars in WWE. Whether she’s competing for a championship or in a high-profile match, Morgan is sure to deliver a standout performance that will solidify her status as one of the best in the business.

In conclusion, Liv Morgan is set for a major WWE WrestleMania push, and it’s a well-deserved opportunity for a talented and hard-working performer. With her skills in the ring, her popularity with the fans, and the company’s support behind her, there’s no doubt that Liv Morgan is on the path to becoming a top star in WWE. Stay tuned to see what she accomplishes at WrestleMania and beyond.

  • WWE Tag Team Push Planned For Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez

A renewed push for the tag team of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez could be on the cards, according to a new report.

PWInsider noted that there has been a lot of talk within WWE about the Judgment Day members getting a push as a tag team heading into WrestleMania 41.

Morgan and Rodriguez have teamed up on a handful of occasions since Raquel returned to WWE television at Bad Blood in October. Their most recent outing as a unit took place on the December 2 edition of Raw, where they picked up a victory over Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Kairi Sane.

Rodriguez and Morgan will team together on tonight’s Raw against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Naomi.

The team of Rodriguez and Morgan had previously tagged together in 2023 and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at Money in the Bank that year. However, their reign ended after 16 days as they fell in their first defence to Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

Morgan dropped the Women’s World Title to Rhea Ripley on the Raw Netflix debut episode on January 6. According to reports, that match was originally scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 41 but was moved up owing to the importance of the Netflix debut.
