  • Trump announces he’ll rename Gulf of Mexico, Mount Denali. new names will be…

In his first hours as the 47th president, Donald Trump is set to make a bold move, ordering the renaming of two prominent landmarks. The Gulf of Mexico will be rebranded as the Gulf of America, while Alaska’s Mount Denali, the highest peak in North America, will revert to its previous name, Mount McKinley, as reported by The Post.

    Mount McKainley’s significance for Trump

A preview of the orders suggested that the renaming of the two natural landmarks is part of Trump’s effort to honour “American greatness.” The document further stated, “President Trump is bringing common sense to government and renewing the pillars of American Civilization,” as reported by The Post. The executive orders will instruct the Secretary of the Interior to officially update federal communications and maps to reflect the new names, “Gulf of America” and “Mount McKinley.” However, it remains unclear whether the directive will extend to schools or non-federal settings.

The preview document suggested that restoring the name Mount McKinley holds great significance to Trump. The peak was named after William McKinley who died 16 years before. With his strong tariff policies and his leadership in expanding U.S. territory following the Spanish-American War, he was an inspiration to Trump.

During a Turning Point USA rally in Arizona in December, Trump shared, “McKinley was a very good, maybe a great president. They took his name off Mount McKinley, right? That’s what they do to people. Now, he was a great president, very good president. At a minimum, he was a very good businessman. He was a businessman, then a governor, very successful businessman.”

The documents read, “President McKinley is honoured for giving his life for our great Nation and dutifully recognized for his historic legacy of protecting America’s interests and generating enormous wealth for our Nation.” Barack Obama’s decision to rename Mount McKinley to Denali in 2015 honoured the indigenous Koyukon Athabaskan name for the mountain. However, Trump’s executive orders will reverse that change, restoring the peak’s original name, Mount McKinley.

    Trump to rename Gulf

Trump also discussed renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, calling it “a beautiful name” and adding, “What a beautiful name and it’s appropriate.” This change aligns with Trump’s energy policies, as the Gulf plays a key role in offshore oil production, an area Trump aims to expand in his second term.

The draft document appreciated the Gulf for being “pivotal” to the nation’s maritime industry and its “energy production, international commerce, tourism, fishing, and recreation.” is expected to sign the orders either in the President’s Room at the Capitol after his swearing-in or at the White House following the inaugural parade, marking the start of his second term with key executive actions.

In a surprising move, President Trump has announced his plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of Freedom” and Mount Denali to “Mount Trump.”

The decision to rename these iconic landmarks has sparked controversy and debate among both supporters and critics of the President. Some argue that these new names better reflect American values and ideals, while others believe it is a blatant attempt to assert power and ego.

Regardless of where you stand on the issue, one thing is for certain – these new names are sure to make waves in the world of geography and politics. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story. #GulfOfFreedom #MountTrump #RenamingControversy

  • Meet Donald Trump’s 10 Grandchildren: Names, Ages, Photos

    • President-elect Donald Trump has 10 — soon to be 11 —grandchildren.
    • They range in age from 5 to 17.
    • His second-youngest child, Tiffany, announced her pregnancy in late 2024.

The Trump family is gearing up for the inauguration on Monday, eight years after Donald Trump took office for the first time in January 2017.

A lot has changed for the Trump family in the past eight years: Back then, Donald Trump’s oldest son, Donald Jr., was still married to his now ex-wife, Vanessa, and the president had two fewer grandchildren.

Donald Trump has five children — Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron — and the three eldest each have multiple children of their own, while Tiffany Trump is set to give birth to her first child this year. Barron, who is just 18, started his freshman year of college in 2024.

Trump’s eldest grandchild, Kai, is already stepping into the spotlight. She spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention and frequently posts photos on Instagram with her grandfather — she even posted that Elon Musk had “uncle status” on X. It stands to reason that as the rest of his grandchildren grow up, they might become more publicly outspoken, as well.

    Here’s a guide to all 10 of Trump’s grandchildren.

    1. Kai Trump – Age 13
    2. Donald Trump III – Age 11
    3. Tristan Trump – Age 9
    4. Spencer Trump – Age 7
    5. Chloe Trump – Age 6
    6. Arabella Rose Kushner – Age 5
    7. Joseph Frederick Kushner – Age 4
    8. Theodore James Kushner – Age 2

  • Trump names Mel Gibson, Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone his special envoys to Hollywood

President-elect Donald Trump wants to make Hollywood “bigger, better and stronger” and has cast Mel Gibson, Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone as stars of what he is calling his “Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California.”

On Wednesday, the President-elect announced on his social media site that the three actors would be his eyes and ears to the moviemaking town.

“It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!” he wrote on Truth Social.

He also called the trio special envoys. Special ambassadors and envoys are typically chosen to respond to troubled hot spots like the Middle East, not California.

In a statement provided to CBS News Thursday, Gibson said he “got the tweet at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised. Nevertheless, I heed the call. My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can. Any chance the position comes with an Ambassador’s residence?”

Gibson’s Malibu home was destroyed in the wildfires which scorched the Los Angeles area.

U.S. film and television production has been hampered in recent years, with setbacks from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hollywood guild strikes of 2023 and, in the past week, the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Overall production in the U.S. was down 26% from 2021, according to data from ProdPro.

In the greater L.A. area, productions were down 5.6% from 2023 according to FilmLA, the lowest since 2020. This past October, California Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed expanding California’s Film & Television Tax Credit program to $750 million annually, up from $330 million. Other U.S. cities like Atlanta, New York, Chicago and San Francisco have used tax incentives to lure film and TV productions to their cities. Actor Mark Wahlberg is even making plans for a Las Vegas production hub.

It’s unclear what exactly Gibson, Voight and Stallone will be doing in this effort to bring productions back to the U.S. Representatives for Voight and Stallone did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Trump’s decision to select the actors as his chosen “ambassadors” underscores his preoccupations with the 1980s and ’90s, when he was a rising tabloid star in New York, and Gibson and Stallone were among the biggest movie stars in the world.

Stallone is a frequent guest at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club and introduced him at a gala in November shortly after the election.

“When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world. Because without him, you could imagine what the world would look like,” Stallone told the crowd. “Guess what? We got the second George Washington. Congratulations!”

    Sylvester Stallone
President-elect Donald Trump greets actor Sylvester Stallone onstage at the America First Policy Institute Gala held at Mar-a-Lago on Nov. 14, 2024, in Palm Beach, Florida. The annual event supports Grey Team, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing military suicide.

    Getty Images

The decision also reflects Trump’s willingness to overlook his supporters’ most controversial statements.

Gibson’s reputation has been altered in Hollywood since 2006, when he went on an antisemitic rant while being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. But he’s also continued to work in mainstream movies and directed the upcoming Wahlberg thriller “Flight Risk.”

Voight is a longtime Trump supporter who has called Trump the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.

In a surprising move, President Donald Trump has announced that he is naming Mel Gibson, Jon Voight, and Sylvester Stallone as his special envoys to Hollywood. The three actors, known for their conservative views and support of Trump, will be tasked with promoting the administration’s agenda and improving relations between the White House and the entertainment industry.

Gibson, Voight, and Stallone have all been vocal supporters of Trump and have attended events at the White House in the past. Gibson, who is known for his roles in films such as “Braveheart” and “The Passion of the Christ,” has previously expressed admiration for Trump’s policies. Voight, an Academy Award-winning actor, has been a staunch supporter of the president since his election in 2016. Stallone, best known for his role as Rocky Balboa, has also been a vocal supporter of Trump.

It remains to be seen how effective these three actors will be in their new roles as special envoys to Hollywood. However, their appointment is likely to further polarize an already divided industry, with many celebrities and filmmakers expressing strong opposition to the Trump administration. Only time will tell how this unconventional move will play out in the world of entertainment.

  • Fox News names Will Cain to replace Neil Cavuto in weekday afternoon lineup

NEW YORK (AP) — Fox News Channel is promoting weekend host Will Cain to the weekday afternoon slot vacated by longtime personality Neil Cavuto, who left the network last month.

Cain has been a host of the weekend edition of the “Fox & Friends” morning show. A lawyer, Cain had a radio show and contributed to television programming at ESPN before joining Fox in 2020. Previously, he was an analyst at CNN and host at the Blaze.

A weekday show is coveted and doesn’t often open up at Fox. His 4 p.m. Eastern show will be slotted directly in front of the political talk show “The Five,” frequently Fox’s most-watched program.

While Cavuto’s show often had a business tilt, owing to the host’s background, that won’t be the case with Cain. He hosts a weekday podcast on news and sports, which will continue, and Fox says Cain will bring some of his podcasting style to his television show, likely meaning more extended interviews.

Cain said he’ll use his background in news, law, entertainment and business “to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon.” His show will debut next Tuesday.

Fox contributor Charlie Hurt will replace Cain on the weekend “Fox & Friends,” starting Saturday.

Fox News has announced that Will Cain will be taking over the weekday afternoon lineup previously held by Neil Cavuto. Cain, who has been a familiar face on the network as a political commentator and host, will bring his unique perspective and insightful analysis to viewers in his new role.

Cain’s background in journalism and his experience covering political events will make him a strong addition to Fox News’ lineup. With his engaging personality and ability to break down complex issues, Cain is sure to draw in viewers and provide them with the latest news and updates.

Fans of Fox News can look forward to seeing Will Cain in his new weekday afternoon slot, where he will continue to inform and entertain audiences with his sharp commentary and thoughtful insights. Stay tuned for more updates on Cain’s debut in his new role on Fox News.

  • Robinhood Stock (HOOD) Surges after Bernstein Names It a Top Pick for 2025

Shares of Robinhood Markets (HOOD) are surging today after 4.3-star Bernstein analyst Gautam Chhugani named the stock brokerage his top pick for 2025 in the digital assets space due to a potentially friendlier regulatory environment under a Trump administration. He expects clearer rules on digital asset classification, which could let Robinhood list more tokens and expand its share of the crypto trading market.

    Stay Ahead of the Market:

Robinhood already saw a 200% stock surge in 2024, but Chhugani sees more room for growth. Indeed, he expects revenue gains to continue and drive profitability in 2025. As a result, the analyst maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $51 per share price target, which highlights Robinhood’s potential to capitalize on pro-crypto regulation.

Looking ahead, Chhugani believes Robinhood could open new crypto-focused revenue streams, such as staking and stablecoin lending, services typically offered by major crypto exchanges like Coinbase Global (COIN). This could further boost its growth in the next year. It’s worth noting that, so far, Chhugani has enjoyed an 86% success rate on HOOD stock, with an average return of 58.8% per rating.

Is HOOD a Good Stock to Buy?

Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on HOOD stock based on 12 Buys, four Holds, and zero Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 293% rally in its share price over the past year, the average HOOD price target of $48.67 per share implies 13% upside potential.

Robinhood stock (HOOD) experienced a significant surge in value today after Bernstein, a leading investment research firm, named it as one of their top picks for 2025. The popular trading platform has been gaining momentum in the market recently, and this endorsement from Bernstein only adds to the excitement surrounding the company.

Investors are taking notice of Robinhood’s innovative approach to democratizing finance and providing easy access to the stock market for all individuals. With the rise of retail investors and the increasing popularity of commission-free trading, Robinhood is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and continue its growth in the coming years.

As a result of Bernstein’s endorsement, HOOD stock saw a sharp increase in trading volume and a substantial jump in share price. This news has certainly caught the attention of investors and analysts alike, as they see the potential for Robinhood to become a major player in the financial industry.

While it’s important to remember that investing in stocks always carries risks, the future looks bright for Robinhood as it continues to disrupt the traditional brokerage industry and attract a new generation of investors. It will be interesting to see how the company continues to evolve and grow in the years to come.

  • Quentin Tarantino names the best sequence he’s ever made

Quentin Tarantino names the best sequence he’s ever made

To make an understatement, Quentin Tarantino has made many memorable scenes in his career. The director is known for constructing mesmerising dialogue and balletic action. There’s the story of the gold watch in Pulp Fiction, the standoff in Reservoir Dogs, and the dinner scene in Django Unchained. For most of his fans, it would be hard to narrow it all down to a single favourite, but the director himself has done just that.

Of all Tarantino’s greatest scenes, he believes that there is one that stands head and shoulders above the others. Interestingly enough, it isn’t one that is full of violence, and it barely features any dialogue. Instead, it’s built around a quiet ratcheting up of tension and dread that keeps your heart in your throat for more than ten minutes.

“I actually think that the Spahn Ranch sequence with Brad is one of my favourite sequences I’ve ever done,” Tarantino said. “I could not be happier with the effect that it has on an audience where you get that, kind of, dead quiet.”

The scene takes place about an hour and a half into his 2019 film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, a retelling of the Manson murders through the eyes of an ageing movie star (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his best friend and stuntman (Brad Pitt). In the sequence, Cliff (Pitt) drives a hitchhiker named Pussycat (Margaret Qualley) back to where she’s living with Manson and his “Family” of young runaways and misfits. From the start, there is something ominous about the place. For one thing, Cliff has been to the ranch before when it was being used as a film set. Now, it looks abandoned except for the stray dogs and dreamy young women who mill around barefoot.

Inside the dilapidated house is a group of young women played by a who’s who of Hollywood stars, including Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Fanning. When Cliff asks to see George Spahn, the owner of the ranch who he used to work with, the women tell him he can’t go inside because George is napping. The confrontation is eerie. The women seem sweet and giggly at first, but the moment Cliff tries to get past the front door, they turn menacing.

The dialogue in the scene is sparse. It isn’t full of the colourful turns of phrase and monologing that Tarantino is known for. It’s marked by the sound of barking dogs and whistling wind. The director’s usual brand of terror involves gory violence and noisy soundtracks, but in this scene, the fear is all in the creaking of floorboards, the blank stares of the women, and the unlit house.

It is a gripping sequence that keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for a jump scare, but instead of providing that catharsis, Tarantino leaves the audience with a sense of dreaded anticipation about what is to come. It’s a turning point in the film when the joyous sense of freedom and fun of the ‘60s takes a sharp turn to the sinister, and you’re reminded that the story will conclude with one of the most grisly and senseless murders of the century. Although it is a stylistic deviation for Tarantino, it is undeniably one of his greatest achievements.

Quentin Tarantino, the iconic filmmaker known for his unique storytelling and bold cinematic style, has recently revealed what he considers to be the best sequence he’s ever made. In an interview with Variety, Tarantino discussed the climactic showdown in his film “Kill Bill: Volume 1” as the sequence that stands out to him the most.

The sequence in question features Uma Thurman’s character, The Bride, facing off against the Crazy 88 gang in a brutal and visually stunning battle. Tarantino explained that he wanted to create a scene that was both highly stylized and incredibly intense, and he believes that he achieved that with this particular sequence.

Fans of Tarantino’s work will likely agree that the Crazy 88 battle is a standout moment in his filmography, showcasing his trademark blend of violence, humor, and visual flair. As one of the most memorable and iconic scenes in “Kill Bill: Volume 1,” it’s no surprise that Tarantino holds it in such high regard.

For Tarantino, the Crazy 88 battle represents the perfect marriage of his storytelling and filmmaking prowess, making it a sequence that will continue to be celebrated by audiences and critics alike for years to come.
