Lehigh Hosts Colgate Monday Evening On CBS Sports Network
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s basketball prepares to play their second game in three days, as the Mountain Hawks welcome the Colgate Raiders to Stabler Arena on Monday, February 3 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Colgate (9-14, 6-4 PL) has owned a significant advantage in the series against Lehigh (8-13, 3-7 PL) as of late, winning nine of their last ten against the Mountain Hawks. The Raiders lead the all-time series 65-42 and picked up a narrow 67-62 victory at Cotterell Court in this season’s first matchup on January 8.
If Lehigh wins, they would earn their ninth win of the season and improve to 4-7 in Patriot League play. Head coach Dr. Brett Reed‘s all-time record against Colgate would improve to 18-22.
Patriot League play continued for Lehigh men’s basketball on Saturday afternoon from the Hart Center against the hosting Holy Cross Crusaders. The Mountain Hawks led for nearly the entire game in a much needed 69-67 road victory over the Crusaders. Sophomore Cam Gillus recorded his first career double-double, notching 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Senior Tyler Whitney-Sidney matched Gillus with 16 points of his own to lead the Mountain Hawks. First-year Alfredo Addesa scored a career-high 10 points on a perfect 3-3 FG and 2-2 3FG. Lehigh posted shooting percentages of 42.9% (24-56) from the field and 37.5% (9-24) from distance while Holy Cross shot 46.8% (29-62) and 33.3% (5-15).
The four-time defending Patriot League champion Raiders enter Monday’s contest in fourth place with a 6-4 league record. Colgate has lost three in a row ahead of this game, including a stunning 76-61 loss at home to Lafayette on Saturday. This is the first time since January 2017 that Colgate has lost three consecutive Patriot League games. Fifth-year center Jeff Woodward leads the Raiders offensively at 14.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, including a 17.6 point per game mark in Patriot League play. Senior Nicolas Louis-Jacques (11.6 ppg) and sophomore Jalen Cox (10.0 ppg) also average double-figures for the Raiders.
Following Monday’s game, the Mountain Hawks return to Stabler Arena on Saturday, February 8 for a matchup with the American University Eagles at 2 p.m.
