“The Boys are Back!” Welcome Notre Dame Football back to campus on Tuesday, January 21st, at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to line the team bus route along the streets on campus to cheer on the Irish.
Team buses will enter campus via St. Andre Way north towards Notre Dame Stadium, then will head east along Moose Krause Circle (south of O’Neill Hall / Leahy Gate), past the Stadium and Joyce Center, then turn north on Leahy Drive towards the Gug.
Here’s how to welcome back the team (safely!) as they return from Atlanta:

Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service guidelines suggest that dressing in multiple layers, covering all exposed skin, and taking frequent breaks indoors to warm up are essential when standing outside in extremely cold conditions.
Stay safe and remember to:
- Avoid spending extended periods of time outside to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
- Dress in multiple layers when you go outside. Be sure to wear a hat, scarf, or mask to cover your face and mouth, gloves or mittens, and water-resistant boots.
- When driving, have extra blankets, a flashlight, a snow shovel, rock salt, and any special-need items in your car. These can help during unexpected emergencies.
- Travel in groups both on and off campus to ensure safety.
Safe ways to celebrate the teams return:
- Stay in your car, but honk the horn to show your support
- Write “Go Irish!” or any supportive messages on your car windows
- Put flags up on your car
- Roll down your window for short bursts of time if you want to cheer
