Storage device manufacturers generally use 1000 as a conversion unit, i.e. 1GB=1000MB; Computer system use 1024 as a conversion unit, i.e. 1GB=1024MB, So the system recognizes capacity of the U disk is less than the manufacturer’s nominal capacity. For example: Nominal capacity 128GB, actual capacity about 117GB; nominal capacity 256GB, actual capacity about 238GB, and so on. In addition under the different operating systems, system files also takes a small amount of space.
About u disk heating phenomenon

About u disk read and write speed
The read and write speed of the USB flash drive is affected by many factors such as computer configuration, interface, file size, and so on. The test environment data of Jostart products comes from the laboratory. If you use a device that is lower than the configuration of the test environment to transfer files, or copy more file documents or pictures, the actual transfer speed will be lower than the nominal speed. The transmission speed of solid state products such as USB flash drives/SSDS is affected by flash particles, so solid state products generally use firmware to make SLC buffers. A single copy of a file that is less than or equal to the SLC cache set capacity is very fast. SLC buffers typically account for only 20% of the total capacity. For example, for 1TB products, the SLC buffer is generally within 200GB, and a single copy of a file within 200GB is very fast. When a single copy exceeds this capacity, it may cause the backend to slow down. These are the results of Flash features. When the capacity of a single copy exceeds the cache capacity, and the copied files are small and fragmented, the speed is normal.
