I put this in an 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS. The fit and finish is excellent. The screen is very nice and clear. Touchscreen works perfectly. The faceplate isn't textured but is smooth and it's plug and play for the most part and comes with everything you'll need. For clear instructions, YouTube: "2007-2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Android Stereo Installation" by Andrew A. from 2 yrs ago. Note: This head unit does have a feature to select and button save in the apps menu for your steering wheel volume, mode and up and down arrow so there isn't a special wiring harness needed for that. When installing the Hazard button, it just uses two small screws (I used original small screws from Hazard button) on the circuit board that attach it to the new unit. The larger holes outer bracket of Hazard button aren't used since there aren't large screw hole tabs on the rear of the new units face plate. After install I connected to WiFi to see if I needed to update the unit just like a smart phone. The head units Google Maps app is slow for me so I use the head unit with Android Auto and the apps and maps are smooth and fast since its running off my phone. Also, I can use mic options in app since it all works together seemlessly. I also know the vehicle has an onboard mic and didn't need to use the included mic. I use favorited apps for music and can have a map app on with your music app right next to it or under it like a music task bar under the full screen gps map. Hunters that use hunting maps such as OnX and want to keep your hands off your phone on the road, this is for you. It runs OnX just like Google Maps and the screens nice and big. Android Auto saved my experience with this head unit. Also, putting the Display on the lowest night setting was best for me and dimming when headlights on works great. There are faster head units like this available but this one works for me and am happy with it after exploring the features and finding info in the video and comments on YouTube video.

There are three holes on the factory Mitsubishi Outlander radio that is not there. Only a dot the holes should be. These three holes connect the hazard light firmly and missing it makes the hazard light shaky. The rear camera doesnt fit flush as the original and takes some skill to fit. Also Carplay and WIFI doesnt work at the same time. Other than that it does what it says.

This replacment android is amazing. everything just fit perfectly, the wireing was simple plug and play.
The reverse camera is very clear, have not figured out how to get the reversing grid to show up on the screen yet but, works well, no complaints as yet.
I highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their car audio.

  • The Final Droughtlander: When Will ‘Outlander’ Season 8 Be on Starz?

Outlander Season 7 finally came to an end today, over a year and a half after it first premiered on Starz back in Summer 2023. Over the course of the two-part, sixteen-episode-long season, we’ve followed Jamie (Sam Heughan) onto the front lines of the Revolutionary War, seen Claire (Caitriona Balfe) nearly be successfully tried for a murder she didn’t commit, and seen Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin) return to the future before traveling back to the past. Outlander Season 7 even goes so far as to end on an incredibly dramatic, totally wild, and absolutely mind-blowing twist, throwing everything we’ve known about Jamie and Claire’s family tree into question.

Needless to say, the very first thing on your mind after you watch Outlander Season 7 Episode 16 “A Hundred Thousand Angels” will likely be how long until Outlander Season 8 comes on Starz?

How long will this latest Droughtlander last? Is Outlander Season 8 really, truly the end of Outlander? And how many episodes are left in Outlander‘s entire run?

Here’s everything you need to know to survive the final Droughtlander…

OUTLANDER 715 Claire and Jamie cuddle in bed

When Does Outlander Return to Starz? Outlander Season 8 Episode 1 Release Date:

We don’t know for sure exactly when Outlander will return to Starz, but we do know that Outlander Season 8 is definitely coming. Not only has Starz confirmed that filming wrapped on the eighth and final season of the hit last fall, but Decider visited the Scotland set of Outlander Season 8 last summer. It’s real. It’s happening. But when?

Sam Heughan vaguely told Today this week that Outlander would return, “sometime soon in the future.”

When Does Outlander Season 8 Premiere on Starz?

Again, we don’t know, but our best bet is some time in 2026. That’s partially because it takes a least a year of a season of Outlander to go through post-production and partially because we the Outlander prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, will debut first, this summer.

How Many Episodes are in Outlander Season 8?

Hoping for yet another sixteen-episode-long season of Outlander, split into two halves? Well, unfortunately, Outlander Season 8 is going to be shortest season since Outlander Season 6!

There will only be ten episodes in the eighth and final season of Outlander, Deadline reported back in 2023. That means there are only ten more installments of Jamie and Claire’s journey. Alas and alack…

Is This the Last Season of Outlander? Is Outlander Canceled? Will There Be an Outlander Season 9?

Outlander Season 8 will be the last season of Outlander. It will wrap up Claire and Jamie’s journey before author Diana Gabaldon gets there in her books, which is something that stuck in executive producer Maril Davis’s craw when we asked her about it in 2023:

“I mean, if it was just up to Maril Davis, I would love to see this through to the end of the book series,” she said during an interview in Summer 2023 for Outlander Season 7 Part 1. “[Waiting for Gabaldon] would entail us now going on pause, waiting for her to write that book. Is that three years? Is it four years? I don’t know. I think sometime it has to end. Is this a good time? I’m sure.”

Davis still teased that she “would have loved to have continued,” and the Outlander saga is far from over at Starz. Davis and her co-EP Matthew B. Roberts also created the aforementioned Outlander prequel series, Blood of My Blood, and she’s not opposed to returning to the main story in the future.

“I don’t know. Maybe we’ll do a different iteration in the future. You know, maybe we’ll come back and tell the end of the story,” she said. “I mean, we’ll have to end it in some way. But you know, story will obviously still continue in the books.”

That said, don’t bet on Outlander Season 9. The show will end on Starz with Outlander Season 8.

As the eighth season of Outlander draws near, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of their favorite time-traveling couple, Jamie and Claire Fraser. With the end of the seventh season leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, many are wondering when they can expect the next installment of the hit Starz series.

While an official release date for season 8 has yet to be announced, rumors and speculation have been swirling among fans. Some believe that the new season could premiere as early as late 2022, while others are predicting a 2023 release date.

With the final droughtlander in full swing, anticipation is at an all-time high as viewers eagerly await news of the upcoming season. In the meantime, fans can rewatch previous seasons, dive into the beloved book series by Diana Gabaldon, or join online forums to discuss theories and predictions for the upcoming season.

Stay tuned for updates on when Outlander season 8 will be on Starz and get ready for another thrilling journey with Jamie and Claire Fraser. The final droughtlander is almost over – the Frasers will be back before you know it.

  • ‘Outlander’ star Sam Heughan loved going modern in ‘The Couple Next Door’

Fans of Outlander should prepare to see Sam Heughan in a completely new light.

Heughan, alongside an ensemble cast that also features Jessica De Gouw, Eleanor Tomlinson, and Alfred Enoch, leads new Starz drama The Couple Next Door. If you’re expecting a man the like the loyal, extremely monogamous, and moral-to-a-fault Jamie Fraser, well… don’t.

Instead, Heughan is playing Danny, a contemporary police officer who, with his wife Becka (De Gouw), leads a bit of an unconventional life via their open relationship. You’d never guess it from their outward suburban propriety, but when a new couple, Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Enoch), move in next door, their secrets start to spill out.

The cast of ‘The Couple Next Door’.

    Starz

Or, as Enoch teases it, “You just want to know — ‘What bad decisions are these people making now and where will they end up?’ It had an atmosphere in the script, that slightly strange, psychosexual, thriller feeling of malaise. Just that sense that it looks good, but it feels off.”

For Heughan, the show, which premieres on Starz at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Jan. 17, is also a welcome shift from his beloved Jamie Fraser. “It was just a joy to do something completely different,” he tells Entertainment Weekly. “It was less time in the makeup chair — and throwing on a T-shirt and jeans is a lot more comfortable than the traditional kilt or jerkin that I normally wear. They each have their merits of course, and it is fun to do historical, but this was definitely a welcome change.”

Sam Heughan and Eleanor Tomlinson in ‘The Couple Next Door’.

    Starz

But it’s not just the wardrobe that marks a stark change, it’s who Danny is as a man as well; he conceals nefarious dealings, money issues, and more from his wife. “Danny, on the surface, is one thing,” Heughan teases. “People will make assumptions about him. His new neighbors make assumptions about him. But I love a character that is ambiguous, and I love being surprised. I want an audience to think one thing of a character and then learn that there’s something else.”

Heughan and De Gouw also dug into their characters’ approach to sex, as Danny and Becka swap partners and invite other couples into their bed.

“A lot of my friends are in the queer community,” De Gouw explains of her exposure to polyamory. “Traditional, monogamous relationships are not necessarily the norm. In my life, I’m surrounded by different kinds of relationships. The expectation that you are two people living monogamously forever doesn’t necessarily exist in the queer community in the same way. So I feel like I had a bit of insight into that.”

Eleanor Tomlinson, Alfred Enoch, and Jessica De Gouw in ‘The Couple Next Door’.

    Starz

Heughan notes that the non-traditional relationship also required even more specificity and homework between him and De Gouw when it came to building their on-screen romance. “We had to work out what that relationship is and to try and do justice and service to anyone that does have that kind of relationship,” he says. “Because it’s ultimately harder to be that open and that in love with your partner that you will test your comfort levels. It is, ultimately, the romance of the piece.”

Both De Gouw and Tomlinson also felt it essential to ensure their characters were driving the choices they were making in regards to their bodies and intimacy. “I felt a responsibility, particularly from Becka’s perspective,” De Gouw adds, “that we’re telling a story of someone who chooses this life, who is empowered by this life and who has thrived in this life. We meet [Becka and Danny] at a point of crisis, but it’s a different lifestyle that absolutely works and is valid.”

Adds Tomlinson: “Jessica and I really wanted to give the women some agency so that they pitched it to the boys. That really helped, and it gave them a bond that wasn’t necessarily on the page, which was exciting for us, and important for the women in the show to have that fun between them and then to be the ones that make that decision or suggest that decision.”

Jessica De Gouw and Eleanor Tomlinson in ‘The Couple Next Door’.

    Starz

Heughan also found a fascinating paradox in the fact that Becka and Danny live in a neighborhood that represents the antithesis of their values. “It’s interesting that they’ve chosen to live in a very different world to what they’re privately living,” he reflects. “They’re in this quite formulaic society, this rule-driven world in suburbia. That’s also a key to Danny a little bit — that’s his upbringing and that’s the world that he feels more comfortable in.”

It’s that tension between their baser desires and the rigid structure of their suburban world that propels The Couple Next Door forward. “It’s so toxic,” says Enoch. “But there is something delicious about it.”

Fans of Sam Heughan, best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in the hit TV series Outlander, will be excited to hear that he is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Shari Lapena’s novel The Couple Next Door.

In a recent interview, Heughan revealed that he loved the opportunity to play a modern character in the thriller, a departure from his usual historical roles. He plays the role of Marco, a husband who becomes entangled in a web of deception and betrayal when his baby daughter goes missing during a dinner party with his neighbors.

Heughan expressed his excitement for the project, stating that he enjoyed the challenge of portraying a character dealing with contemporary issues and relationships. Fans can expect to see a different side of Heughan as he navigates the twists and turns of this gripping thriller.

The Couple Next Door promises to be a thrilling adaptation of Lapena’s bestselling novel, and with Heughan’s talent and versatility, it is sure to be a must-watch for fans of both the book and the actor. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!

The seventh season of Outlander is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the time travel drama is running out of steam with Claire and Jamie facing the American Revolution with higher stakes than ever. The upcoming penultimate installment, which will be the show’s first in the 2025 TV schedule, has a big nod to Diana Gabaldon’s source material that’s clear even without seeing the episode yet. Interestingly, the nod also comes one week after an episode penned by Gabaldon debuted on Starz to end the 2024 TV schedule, and she had some interesting comments about the experience.

First things first! The penultimate episode of Season 7 is called “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood,” which fans of the books will recognize as the title of the eighth of Diana Gabaldon’s nine main Outlander novels so far. This isn’t an unprecedented move; the Starz series’ second season finale is called “Dragonfly in Amber” in a nod to Gabaldon’s second book, and the Season 5 premiere was called “The Fiery Cross” as a nod to Gabaldon’s fifth book.

So, the title of the next episode being taken from the eighth book doesn’t mean that readers should expect a story lifted straight from page to screen, but it does suggest that perhaps some of the biggest events of the novel could happen before the end of the season. Personally, I’m also interested to see if the last two episodes before the next Droughtlander begins will incorporate certain aspects of Book 9, Go Tell the Bees that I Am Gone. With Outlander ending after Season 8, the show had limited time to finish telling Gabaldon’s story.

And speaking of Gabaldon’s story, the author herself wrote the most recent episode of Season 7, called “Ye Dinna Get Used To It.” I was certainly interested in seeing what she brought to the show after her comments about the Season 7 midseason finale, and this was only the third episode that she wrote for the series based on her novels. (EP Ronald D. Moore did tell CinemaBlend that the Outlander team keeps Gabaldon “in the loop,” though.)

Speaking with Parade about writing the episode that aired on December 17, the author explained that even her script went through changes for the TV show. According to Gabaldon, “They did change quite a bit from the first draft” of her episode to cut some time from William and Jane, devote more time to Hal and Lord John, and cut down the story between Brianna and Rob Cameron. She went on to name another example of a change from book to screen in Season 7:

Some lines were changed—when Claire (book) sees Jamie in his new uniform and he asks whether he looks decent to inspect troops, she replies, ‘You look like bloody Mars, god of war. You’re likely to frighten your men.’ To which he replies, ‘I want them frightened of me. It’s my best chance of getting them out of this alive.’ That was (I believe) changed to JAMIE: ‘Do ye like it? CLAIRE: ‘I’d be lying if I said I didn’t.’ OK, there’s nothing wrong with either version, but it does alter the focus.

The author clarified that she sees “nothing wrong with either version,” but the change “does alter the focus” from Jamie’s worries about leading hundreds of troops he doesn’t know personal to putting the “emphasis is on the relationship between Jamie and Claire.” Gabaldon elaborated on why what works for her on the page simply can’t always work on screen:

There’s nothing ‘wrong’ with either one; it’s just where you want to place the focus of a scene or story, and in some contexts, one version might be better for the other medium. (i.e., I have all the room I need to do just about anything I want; I can take the time to show Jamie’s uncertainty about leading a much bigger group of men than he ever has, under urgent conditions. The show can’t, because they don’t have room. If they have to pick and choose between the elements of a book-scene (and they do), they’ll usually go for the briefest/most condensed version.

Gabaldon certainly does have more room to flesh out characters and stories in her books than Outlander does with one hour-long episode per week during a season. In total, Season 7 will amount to about 16 hours of television; the hardcover copy of Written in My Own Hearts Blood has 825 pages, and the audiobook is listed on Audible as running for 45 hours. Is it any wonder that the TV show has to pick, choose, and condense to adapt the saga to the small screen?

Of course, not all fans of the show have read the books, so the differences between the two mediums aren’t going to be apparent to everybody. Still, whether you are or aren’t a reader of Diana Gabaldon’s source material, you can look forward to the remaining episodes of Outlander Season 7, airing on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.

Outlander fans, get ready for some exciting news! The hit show is gearing up for a big nod to Diana Gabaldon’s source material in an upcoming episode. The author herself recently addressed some changes that will be made in Season 7 from the books to the screen.

In a recent interview, Gabaldon revealed that there will be a significant moment in the show that pays homage to the original book series. While she didn’t give away any specific details, she hinted that fans of the books will definitely recognize the scene when it airs.

As for the changes in Season 7, Gabaldon assured fans that while there may be some deviations from the books, the overall story and characters will remain true to her vision. She explained that adaptations are necessary in order to bring the story to life on screen, but she is confident that the show’s creators will stay faithful to the heart of the series.

So, Outlander fans, get ready for an exciting season ahead with nods to the source material and some new twists and turns along the way. Stay tuned for more updates as the show continues to captivate audiences around the world.
