Simone Biles reacts as her husband Jonathan Owens and other family members volunteer during eponymous Biles International Invitational 2025
Simone Biles took pride in her family coming out to volunteer at her eponymous event, the Biles International Invitational. The eighth annual edition of the event from January 31 to February 2 already hosted the Glow Party at the World Champions Center, Texas.
Biles, who had a successful Paris Olympic campaign, winning three gold medals and a silver, performed in a 30-city Gold Over America tour from September to November. She then celebrated the holidays with her husband at the NFL field, cheering on the latter during the NFL season.
A month into 2025, the 30-time World medalist made headlines with her eighth edition of the Biles International Invitational. The event welcomed a room full of up-and-coming gymnasts and fans at the World Champions Center.
She recently took to her Instagram story to share a video of her family, featuring Jonathan Owens and Rachel Roettger, volunteering at her event. Expressing pride, the seven-time Olympic gold medalist wrote:
“Family that volunteers your competition.”

Simone Biles ‘Obsessed’ With Baby Biles While Jonathan Owens Takes New Role To Help Make Her Gymnastics Competition a Success
Last year before the Olympics Simone Biles shared a photo of her niece Ronni dressed in a replica of her aunt’s black leotard from the 2023 Xfinity Gymnastics Championships. The Olympic champion introduced her as the “WCC’s newest elite team member,” and since then the aptly named Baby Biles has become somewhat of a regular at the World Champions Centre as she looks to follow in the footsteps of the GOAT.
Last October, we saw a video of her jumping around enthusiastically, climbing mats, and balancing herself on the trampoline, at Biles’ family-owned gym in Spring, Texas. Previously at the center, she has been spotted wearing a GK leotard as she tried to ace a floor routine like her TT. During the Paris Olympics, Ronni also wore an adorable mini-version of Biles’ red, white, and blue leotard, adorned with silver stars.
So, it is no surprise as the Simone Biles Invitational returned to the World Championships Center this season, Ronni was once again with her gymnast aunt, this time in another cute outfit.

After wrapping up a successful Paris Olympics, the Gold Over America Tour, and supporting her husband Jonathan Owens’ NFL season, Simone Biles has finally come down home, to Houston, for a generous stretch. But, she’s still not retreated into rest mode. Instead, she’s making the most of her time, and her latest actions prove it. After all, she has multiple things in the pipeline like finalizing details on her new house and, of course, hosting the 8th annual Simone Biles Invitational.
Ronnie was present at the Biles Invitational in a World Championship Center-themed tracksuit and her aunt couldn’t stop but gush over her cuteness. Taking to Instagram, she shared a story of the toddler looking at her and added the caption, “Miss girl is soooo cute. ms. ronni biles.” In another story, she also swooned over the fact that “baby sized stuff just looks so much cuter! I’m obsessed.”
Baby Biles seems to follow her aunt wherever she goes, cheering her on from Paris to her homecoming in Houston for the Gold Over America Tour. Hoisted on her mother’s shoulders she yelled “TT go, TT go,” as they made their way to the Toyota Center last October during the Tour. But it’s her early adventures on the mat that have turned a lot of heads.
Last year, the two-year-old was captured in a video by her mother Sammi Biles, as she played around at the facility donning a mini Team USA leotard and a red bow. She made it across different stages from the mat to jumping onto the foam pit cubes, all by herself, drawing encouragement from her mother who said, “See you did it, good job!” Meanwhile, Simone Biles also shared a glimpse of the supporters from her family who had turned up to volunteer at the Invitational which was scheduled from January 31 to February 2.
She shared a small snippet on her IG Story of a row of people including her husband, Jonathan Owens, seated and volunteering at the meet. And guess what? All of her tribe members were donning custom-made Simone Biles Invitational t-shirts. No wonder she captioned the story, “family that volunteers your competition [cry & heart emoji].”
Well, this hardly surprises us as we’ve seen Owens being Simone Biles’ rock all through. From flying to Paris to boost her morale at the Olympics and to surprising her in a Milwaukee hotel during the GOAT Tour, Owens hasn’t been shy in showing his love for Biles.
While Biles cherishes moments with baby Biles, Ronnie, she confirmed plans of having kids of her own in the future. Talking on the Today Show after the Paris Olympics she mentioned, “Me and Jonathan always talk about kids. He would have them, like, yesterday if he could have. Obviously, we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family. But yes, that’s definitely in our future.”

Well, motherhood can still be some time away for Biles, but she continues to be an inspiration to the young generation. Recently, a 3-year-old toddler pleasantly surprised Simone Biles in another adorable interaction.

The veteran gymnast even met the toddler and shared the story on her IG.”“My heart [emoji] I got to meet sweet Sloan today!!!! she did her sassy [emoji] pose w/me! so adorable! DAY MADE,” she wrote.

With a retro event like WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, it was expected that we’d have some legends in the house for the night.
Previously advertised were already Jesse “The Body” Ventura, who joined the commentary booth for the Intercontinental Championship match between Bron Breakker and Sheamus, as well as Shawn Michaels moderating the contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. That segment ended with “The Heartbreak Kid” nailing Owens with a little Sweet Chin Music to follow a superkick from The American Nightmare that saved HBK from a package piledriver Owens was about to execute.

In a shocking turn of events at Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, also known as the Heartbreak Kid, delivered a series of devastating superkicks to some of the biggest names in wrestling history.First up was Kevin Owens, who was caught off guard by HBK’s lightning-fast footwork and sent crashing to the mat. Next, the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase found himself on the receiving end of a picture-perfect superkick that left him seeing stars.
But HBK wasn’t done yet. He then turned his attention to Alundra Blayze, delivering a superkick that sent the WWE Hall of Famer reeling. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any crazier, HBK unleashed his signature move on none other than WWE legend Mick Foley, leaving fans in disbelief.

Meghan Markle’s Wildfire Help Mocked by Candace Owens
Meghan Markle has been mocked by Candace Owens after a reporter sought to explain her help for Los Angeles wildfire victims during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to the wildfire zone.
“She stooped down and she picked up the lid of a plastic bin,” Owens said in a TikTok clip. “And that’s how I knew my girl was real, and I just want to thank Meghan for doing that. It’s very helpful for her to stoop down and do that.”
Owens told Newsweek in a statement: “I agree with the general public sentiment that Meghan and Harry are inauthentic ambulance chasers.”
Why It Matters
Meghan and Harry’s visit to the wildfire zone sits neatly within the remit of a traditional royal engagement, but the fact the couple are no longer working royals appears to have landed badly with some people.
They were likely not helped by the fact much of the news footage showed them talking to World Central Kitchen staff and Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo or walking through ruined streets rather than packing boxes with aid for victims.
However, it remains the case that the Sussexes appear to be in the same negative spiral with conservative Americans that they had been in with conservative Brits prior to quitting the royal family.

What To Know
The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry toured fire-ravaged neighborhoods as well as visiting a Pasadena site where World Central Kitchen were offering disaster relief last Friday.
Owens shared a clip of an interview with Gordo, in which the reporter said: “It looked as if the two of them might want to really be helpful, as I saw actually Meghan Markle, like, stoop down and take off the lid of a plastic bin. Do they really want to get down and dirty?”
Owens said: “If there’s any plastic bins that you guys see around that need picking up, you can hit up your girl Meghan Markle. It’s amazing.
“I really just got such a chuckle out of that description. It’s just such a nonsense. Nobody cares. Send money, send food, it’s about what these people need.
“They need donations, they need a place to live, they need hotels. That’s not to say they aren’t doing that, I’m sure perhaps they are in the background, but I just don’t understand this visit.”
She also mocked Meghan’s decision to postpone her Netflix show With Love, Meghan.
“Meghan, our duchess, has decided that she’s going to push the Netflix series, the one that we showed you of her cooking, its so relatable.
“She felt that maybe it would not be relatable at this time to see her cooking in a mansion that belongs to one of her friends and inviting over her rich and fabulous people as she gets honey out of the garden and presents perfect Martha Stewart-looking cakes.
“They thought maybe it’s not the right time, it was kind of devastating that they’re going to have to push that but then people will be able to watch it at a later time.”
The clip of Owens’ comments was liked 27,000 times and viewed 550,000 times after being posted on TikTok.

Not everyone agreed with Owens, as one comment on her post read: “I like Candace, but the Meghan Markle hate is ridiculous.”
Another commenter said: “I don’t understand how a reporter’s question of one moment of Meghan volunteer work, probably in the middle of doing something, is now a bit to again criticize Meghan. That makes no sense.”

“I got this tattoo that says ‘LIVE,’” Owens said (per Fightful). “Because the E is backward, some people say ‘EVIL’ A lot of people get this one, and they ask me first if it’s okay, and I’m always happy to say, ‘Yeah, sure, go ahead.’ This one resonates with a lot of people. I got this tattoo at the same time as Steve Corino. He has the same one as well, and it’s the name of our faction in Ring of Honor.”
Owens continued, “He’s my mentor. He brought me to Japan for the first time. We wrestled each other in 2004. He came to Ring of Honor where I was working full time and immediately as soon as he showed up, I’m like, he’s got to be with me. My last match in Ring of Honor was against him. Couldn’t have been against anybody else. Now he works at the Performance Center. We don’t talk as much as we wish just because of life. We don’t see each other as much as we wish because of life. But there’s absolutely a lifelong bond for sure.”

Simone Biles isn’t just Sports Illustrated’s pick for sportsperson of the year. According to her husband Jonathan Owens, she’s the better athlete in the marriage.
The NFL player revealed he thinks his wife is the better athlete while on the red carpet for Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year award, which was held in Las Vegas last week.
While being asked a series of rapid-fire questions the 29-year-old Chicago Bears safety pointed to the 27-year-old Olympian gymnast when asked who was the better athlete.
“I’m not doing no backflips. Nah,” he said jokingly as the couple laughed.
However, when it comes to which one is the better cheerleader, Biles admitted her husband, who negotiated to be able to attend the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in his contract with the Bears, takes the cake.
“Jonathan, he knows more, and he really pays attention,” she said referring to the way he pays attention to her sport, adding that she often loses track of his football games after the first half of the game.
“She’ll hear everybody else yelling, and she’ll be like, ‘What happened,’” Owens teased while pantomiming his wife’s confusion.
“But you know, it’s the thought that counts, I love it,” he said.
The sweet, tongue-in-cheek moment arrives two years after the couple found themselves at the center of controversy following Owens’s comments about their relationship.
At the time, Owens cheekily referred to himself as “the catch” in the relationship while the pair were on the “Pivot” podcast and admitted he didn’t know who she was before their first date in 2020. Instantly, online, backlash formed against him, with many defending his four-time, multi-gold-winning Olympian wife.
However, Biles cleared the air during an appearance on the “Call Your Daddy” podcast.
“He never said I wasn’t a catch,” Biles clarified. “He said he was a catch because he is. I’ve never met a man like him. A lot of people that meet him are like, ‘Oh my gosh. I want a man like that, like Jonathan.’”
Biles and Owens, who started dating after meeting on the dating app Raya in 2020, were married in a destination wedding in Cabo, San Lucas, in April 2023.
