  • Is Trudy Platt Leaving Chicago P.D.? What We Know

Headed into the first One Chicago crossover in five years, fans are particularly concerned about one character: Chicago P.D.‘s Trudy Platt (Amy Morton).

    How to Watch

Watch Chicago P.D. Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and next day on Peacock

In the promo for the three-hour event, viewers were shaken after seeing a glimpse of an injured Platt. Her husband, Chicago Fire‘s Mouch (Christian Stolte), is then seen rushing to her side at the hospital. The clips were startling, especially considering that Platt usually takes a backseat during major Chicago P.D. storylines.

Though she won’t reveal the sergeant’s fate, P.D. showrunner Gwen Sigan has confirmed that Platt’s life does hang in the balance amidst the chaos of the building explosion that brings all three casts together.

“I would say it’s very emotional,” Sigan said. “It’s definitely high-stakes. [Fans will] have to watch to really find out what happens with her story. But I think it really galvanizes the team. She is someone that across all three shows, I think she’s pretty beloved. Especially with her relationship with Mouch and how often she’s on Chicago Fire. You see every character’s reaction. And it forms quite high stakes for the team to find these offenders at the end of the day.”

Chicago Med showrunner Allen Macdonald revealed that doctors Lenox (Sarah Ramos) and Ripley (Luke Mitchell) will be responsible for saving Platt.

“Her life is on the line, and they really have to work together to hopefully figure that out in time,” Macdonald said.

P.D.‘s Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Fire’s Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) will also make an unlikely pair when the two are trapped together as a result of the explosion. Sigan explains that it was “interesting” to see the two come together in such a high-stress situation, especially considering both are the better halves of beloved ships in the fandom: Stellaride and Burzek.

“Both of those characters felt like characters that could handle this much story being thrown at them,” she says. “…It’s really a pairing that we haven’t gotten to see a lot. It’s an interesting pairing, I think. The other piece that became crucial to the themes [of the crossover]: showing how our teams have these longstanding relationships they’re in with other characters from their shows.”

There have been rumors circulating about Trudy Platt, the beloved character on Chicago P.D., leaving the show. Fans are concerned about the fate of the tough and no-nonsense police sergeant, played by Amy Morton.

However, as of now, there is no official confirmation about Trudy Platt leaving Chicago P.D. The show’s producers and creators have not made any announcements regarding her future on the series.

It is worth noting that actors often come and go on long-running TV shows, so it is not uncommon for characters to leave at some point. But until there is concrete information from the show’s creators or the actress herself, we can only speculate about Trudy Platt’s future on Chicago P.D.

For now, fans of the show can continue to enjoy Amy Morton’s portrayal of Trudy Platt and hope that she will remain a staple on the series for seasons to come. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

  • Chicago P.D. Alum Tracy Spiridakos’ Dog, Nala, Passes Away

One of Chicago P.D.’s finest is going through a challenging time.

    How to Watch

Watch Chicago P.D. Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and next day on Peacock

In a heartfelt January 20 Instagram post, One Chicago fan favorite Tracy Spiridakos broke the news to her fans that her dog, Nala, had died a week earlier. The social media post included a lengthy photo carousel of the pup, who has been in Spiridakos’ life for over a decade, as well as some beautiful words written by the 36-year-old:

“Last week we had to say goodbye to our beloved Nala,” Spiridakos captioned. “We are gutted. I can’t even begin to tell you how special she was. She has been my companion for over 12 years, my best friend and the highlight of every day I was fortunate enough to spend with her. There will never be another Nala. I will forever be grateful to have been loved by her. “

The actress, who brought Detective Hailey Upton to life for eight unforgettable years, and her pup definitely made the most out of their remaining time together — the duo has been nearly inseparable.

(The final few photos in the carousel show how little Nala was when she came into the star’s life and are just too cute!)

From Spiridakos making Nala the star of her own photo shoot to allowing the adorable Rottweiler to crash the Chicago P.D. set to simply enjoying a game of fetch together, the two were a team to be reckoned with over the years.

Fans and friends alike took to Spiridakos’ Instagram comment section to offer condolences, support, and their own memories of Nala, and we’re sure Spiridakos appreciated every last comment.

Nala’s passing has also impacted other people in Spiridakos’ life, like her former P.D. co-star Jesse Lee Soffer, who was also featured in Spirdakos’ dedication post. In fact, just over a month ago, Soffer shared a wonderful photo of Nala on his Instagram, calling her his “best buddy.”

Nala will be missed by all.

Spiridakos’ time on Chicago P.D. concluded in Season 11 when her character left Chicago for good to pursue a new career opportunity.

As viewers could imagine, deciding to leave the show after so many years was difficult for the talented actress, as she explained to NBC Insider in May 2024.

“It was a really hard decision, and I don’t know that there’s ever a right time,” she said. “I think I’ve been on the show for just over seven years, like seven and a half-ish years, and I was just wanting to switch it up and kind of see what else was out there. That was really it. I’m so close with everybody. With our producers, [showrunner] Gwen, our writers, our cast, our crew. It was a really difficult and emotional time, for sure.”

I am saddened to share that Tracy Spiridakos, best known for her role on Chicago P.D., recently announced the passing of her beloved dog, Nala. Spiridakos took to social media to share the heartbreaking news with her fans and followers.

Nala had been a constant companion to Spiridakos for many years, providing love, comfort, and companionship. The bond between them was evident in the photos and videos that Spiridakos shared on her social media accounts.

Losing a pet is never easy, and our hearts go out to Tracy Spiridakos during this difficult time. Nala may be gone, but she will always hold a special place in Spiridakos’ heart and the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, sweet Nala. You will be deeply missed.

  • A ‘Chicago P.D.’ Fan Favorite Returns in New Season 12 Images

Due to the farewell address of U.S. President Joe Biden, Chicago P.D. Season 12, Episode 10, “Zoe,” was delayed by NBC. Now, the next episode of the hugely popular police procedural, titled “Zoe”, airs this Wednesday, January 22, and according to the episode’s promo video, everything goes dark really fast and becomes quite personal to Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger). Meanwhile, Adam gets a visit from his dad, and some issues arise from this visit, according to the logline below. NBC released some images from the Adam-centric episode, which preview his troubling case. The images also feature Amy Morton‘s Trudy Platt, who joins in on the investigation after a startling confession from a child.

“An unexpected visitor causes disruption for Ruzek and Burgess amidst an emotional investigation involving an unidentified young girl.”

Disco Bob Visits and a Case Hits Too Close to Home for Ruzek in ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 12, Episode 10.

The images above show Adam amidst the troubling investigation. In the episode’s promo video, Zoe (Anabelle Toomy) said she had a lot of moms and step-siblings, and it was teased that most, if not all, were dead. Ruzek takes the lead on this case and connects with it on a deeper level because it reminds him of someone close. “She’s eight years old. I think on some level the case reminds him of his daughter, of Makayla’s (Ramona Edith Williams) case to a certain degree, of a child lost and kind of in the world of adults, but not being taken care of in that world in the way that I think he thinks is how it should be done. And so I think he takes a shine to her,” John Flueger told TV Insider. He added:

“The circumstances under which he meets her are so extreme that just immediately, I think he takes it on as a personal vendetta — vendetta might not be the right word, but he takes it personally and I think that they just connect immediately just because of the circumstances, not because of who he is or who she is, but because the circumstances force it.”

Meanwhile, Adam’s father drops by unannounced and brings up some of the foundational problems in their relationship. A conflict develops between Adam, Bob, and Kim (Marina Squerciati) because she is concerned that his dad is abusing Adam’s goodness and exploiting their relationship. “He does just kind of show up unannounced, and I think we’re both a little surprised, certainly Adam — when he does something like this historically, it’s because he needs money or because there’s some sort of problem that needs to be solved,” Flueger told the outlet. This behavior does not fly with Kim, who “has less patience” with Bob than Adam.

“Zoe” promises to be a dark and emotional episode of Chicago P.D. Tune in to NBC on Wednesday, January 22, to watch it live. You can also catch up with past episodes on Peacock.
