  • Ted DiBiase Explains Why Million Dollar Title Was “A Real Pain In The A**” To Travel With

Ted DiBiase has shared his thoughts on the iconic Million Dollar title.

WWE Hall of Famer and ex-wrestler Ted DiBiase has opened up on his thoughts on the Million Dollar championship. Popular for his unique gimmick back in his time and the iconic championship belt, DiBiase claims it was a real “pain in the a**” to travel with.

Speaking on his podcast, Everybody’s Got a Pod, DiBiase discussed the challenges of traveling with the belt.

“It was a real pain in the ass. I mean — and again, they took a Halliburton briefcase and gutted it, put foam padding in it, and basically made it look like a ring box. And the belt fit right down — when it was folded, it fit right in that Halliburton briefcase. And I had to take that thing everywhere I went.

I remember one night, I think we were in Boston. And we went somewhere after the show and had a few drinks and everything. I don’t know what got into me about, ‘Oh my gosh, where’s the belt? Where’s the belt?’ You know, we went back to whoever I rode over there with when it wasn’t there. And you know, come to find out, I put it in the referee’s trunk.”

The veteran further explained the troubles he faced with customs when crossing borders.

I was always afraid I was gonna [lose it.] I had to carry that thing with me anytime we went across the border. And we’d go back and forth to Canada a little bit, but anywhere we went where I was going through customs, I had to show them something that [had] it’s estimated value. And that’s what it was, 40 grand.”

Ted DiBiase Shares Why The Million Dollar Title Was So Valuable

In the same podcast, DiBiase opened up further on why the championship is so valuable. While the belt had almost 700 fake diamonds embedded in it, it also had real diamonds.

“All the stones in the belt, they’re not all diamonds. Most of those stones in the face of the belt, they’re what you call cubic zirconium. When I heard that, I asked my wife, ‘What the hell is that?’ And she goes, ‘That means they’re almost a diamond but not quite.’ I don’t know how you can be almost and not — anyway. So each one of those stones, I guess, was worth about 50 bucks. There were 700 of them in the face of the belt.

And I think — I’ve already told this to a lot of people. But if you looked on the back of the belt, where nobody ever saw the back of the belt. But at the back of the belt at the top on the back was — there were three little [things] and I said, ‘What are those?’ They told me, they said, ‘Ted, those are real diamonds.’ ‘Why? Nobody’s gonna see them.’ ‘Well, if anybody ever asks you are the diamonds in the belt real, you could say yes and you won’t be lying.’”

    H/t 411mania.com

Inactive from WWE for some time, DiBiase was last involved in an NXT storyline between Cameron Grimes and LA Knight. He also appeared backstage at Raw is XXX.

Wrestling legend Ted DiBiase recently sat down for an interview and revealed why his famous Million Dollar Championship title was more of a burden than a blessing during his time in the WWE.

According to DiBiase, the elaborate and heavy title belt, which was adorned with diamonds and gold, was not only a status symbol but also a real pain in the you-know-what to travel with. He explained that the sheer weight of the belt made it difficult to lug around from city to city, especially when flying or driving long distances.

“It was a beautiful title, don’t get me wrong, but it was a real pain in the ass to travel with,” DiBiase admitted. “I had to be careful not to lose it or damage it, and it was incredibly heavy to carry around all the time.”

Despite the challenges of traveling with the Million Dollar Championship, DiBiase fondly remembers his time as the “Million Dollar Man” and the impact the title had on his wrestling career. He even joked that he had to hire a personal assistant just to help him transport the title from one location to another.

In the end, DiBiase’s Million Dollar Championship may have been a headache to travel with, but it will always hold a special place in wrestling history as one of the most iconic and extravagant title belts of all time.

  • Wolf Man passes on the pain of its predecessor

Spoiler Space offers thoughts on, and a place to discuss, the plot points we can’t disclose in our official review. Fair warning: This article features plot details of Wolf Man.

Of all the Universal monsters, The Wolf Man is perhaps the saddest. A man, aware of his own ticking-clock monstrosity, fights fruitlessly against the inevitable in order to protect those around him. Director George Waggner and writer Curt Siodmak made their Gothic tragedy in 1941, putting the oafish lug Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr.) through the wringer with plenty of mythology and the subtext of Nazism’s transformation of seemingly everyday people. But what Leigh Whannell’s update Wolf Man inverts is The Wolf Man’s tragic relationship between father and son.

In The Wolf Man, Claude Rains (the Invisible Man himself) plays Larry’s loving, loaded father John. He’s a practical, science-oriented man of means, who lives in a Welsh castle and has just lost his eldest son in a hunting accident. When Chaney’s hyper-American goober stumbles back home, their relationship is strained but filled with potential…until Larry slays, and is bitten by, a werewolf. As evidence mounts that local deaths are due to the nighttime escapades of an infected Larry, the son becomes more and more fearful while the father (and a local posse of sensible authority figures) dismisses lycanthropy as nothing more than a psychological affliction suffered, if at all, by the underclasses. That said, John is notably protective of his boy, all but covering up the initial killing as an accident.

This makes it all the more painful when, at the film’s climactic conclusion, John must beat his own son to death with a silver-headed cane. This scene, beyond feeling weighty due to Chaney’s relationship with his own famous and monster-playing father, visually echoes the film’s first kill, where Larry initially slays the werewolf and is bitten in the process. It’s brutal, sad, and a smack in the face of futile parental protectiveness.

Wolf Man, too, is more of a bummer than anything else. But its version of this origin story leans further into dismantling that idea of protectiveness. Blake (Christopher Abbott) and his family return to his father’s Oregon farm after the missing dad is declared dead. The opening scene, a prologue to the story at hand, ends its werewolf encounter with Blake’s dad (Sam Jaeger) radioing his neighbor (and fellow father) about the creature they ran into. The implication is that the two dads are off a-hunting to ensure the safety of their children…which makes it all the more obvious who the werewolf who eventually infects Blake is.

Yes, Blake’s dad gets werewolfed while trying to keep his kid safe, then werewolfs his kid in turn. Generational trauma! Though the rest of Wolf Man muddles its way through this theme—Blake doesn’t get turned as a direct result of trying to protect his daughter, nor does his daughter ever seem under threat of being victim to his emotional or monstrous afflictions—the family dynamic is ever-present. When Wolf Man rolls out its werewolf fight between wolf-Blake and his dad, it’s not a “Hell yeah, werewolf fight!” moment. Instead, it’s got just as much pain as The Wolf Man’s ending, as two men who imperfectly cared for one another struggle to the death—this time as a direct result of one’s protective instincts.

Neither Wolf Man nor The Wolf Man has much to offer in way of resolution or reassurance. These endings are bleak, their losses painful, the aims of its characters ultimately reasonable. Chaney spent the rest of his Wolf Man movies searching for a cure (and getting into crossover hijinks). Blake finds a cure in the barrel of a gun, his desire to protect his family culminating in a moment of sacrifice. And yet, since he’s blown away right in front of his young daughter, it’s clear that the scars will live on. That’s an inevitability of parenting, even if most aren’t monsters.

Wolf Man, the classic horror film from 1941, has long been known for its iconic portrayal of a man cursed to transform into a werewolf under the full moon. But now, a new film is set to take the story in a bold new direction.

Titled “Wolf Man: Legacy of the Curse,” this upcoming movie will explore the aftermath of the original film’s events and the impact of the curse on future generations. In this new installment, the cursed protagonist must grapple with not only his own transformation but also the responsibility of passing on the curse to another unsuspecting victim.

Director Sarah Johnson promises a fresh take on the classic tale, delving deeper into the psychological and emotional toll of the curse. “We wanted to explore the idea of inherited trauma and the burden of passing on pain to others,” she explains. “The curse of the Wolf Man is not just physical but emotional as well, and we wanted to delve into the complex dynamics of that.”

Fans of the original film can expect to see familiar themes of identity, morality, and the struggle between human and beast, but with a modern twist. “We’re not just retelling the same story,” says Johnson. “We’re building on the foundation laid by the original film and taking it in a new, more nuanced direction.”

“Wolf Man: Legacy of the Curse” is set to hit theaters next fall, and fans of classic horror are eagerly anticipating this new chapter in the saga of the cursed werewolf. Get ready to howl at the moon once again, as the pain of the Wolf Man’s curse is passed on to a new generation.

  • I Streamed A Real Pain On Hulu, But There’s One Aspect Of Kieran Culkin’s Outstanding Performance That’s Bothering Me

We’re currently in the midst of awards season, where some of the best movie projects from the last year are recognized in a variety of upcoming awards shows. One title that’s been getting plenty of nods is Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain, which is streaming currently with a Hulu subscription. I finally streamed it myself, but there’s one aspect of Kieran Culkin’s outstanding performance that’s bothering me.

Following Culkin’s recent Golden Globe win, there are way more folks figuring out how to stream A Real Pain. The hype around the project reached a fever pitch thanks to the 2025 Oscar nominations, where Eisenberg’s screenplay and Culkin’s performance were honored. But I’m a little annoyed that the Succession alum is up for the Supporting Actor categories when he’s the protagonist of the film, in my opinion.

A Real Pain focuses on two cousins going on a trip through Poland to honor their late grandmother. Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin share basically every scene together and have outstanding chemistry as estranged relatives struggling with trauma and grief. But the idea that Culkin’s Benji is the “supporting” character is pretty laughable; the movie literally begins and ends with him in the airport.

While Jesse Eisenberg’s David is perhaps the “everyman” and the audience’s entry point into the story, Benji is the heart of A Real Pain. Watching his layers of trauma and emotionality unfold throughout the film’s 90-minute runtime is deeply moving, especially his devastated reaction to visiting a former Nazi concentration camp.

From left to right: Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin smiling on a train.

    Credit: Searchlight Pictures

This performance feelings like a stellar follow-up to Kieran Culkin’s Emmy-winning work on Succession (which is streaming with a Max subscription). And funny enough, he’ll be competing against his former co-star Jeremy Strong in the Best Supporting Actor category for this year’s Oscars. In a strange way it feels like a the multiverse at play with the Roy sons, who so often quarreled throughout the show’s runtime.

Culkin’s work as Benji was one of the most impactful film performances I’ve seen in a while, and that includes all the awards favorites that I’ve been catching up on. He pivots between being wildly charming and chewing on the scenery to breaking the hearts of other characters and the audience alike. He’s able to weave in the history with Benji’s late grandmother, his suicide attempt and the atrocities of the Holocaust, as well as his stained relationship to Eisenberg’s character into one powerhouse performance.

All of this say that Culkin doesn’t feel like a supporting actor in A Real Pain in the least bit. Obviously studios are being strategic in trying to get the most Oscar attention as possible, and that been working for the 42 year-old actor. We’ll just have to see if he takes home an Academy Award to go with his Golden Globe.

A Real Pain is streaming now on Hulu. Check out the 2025 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.

I recently streamed the new series A Real Pain on Hulu, and I have to say, Kieran Culkin’s performance was absolutely outstanding. Culkin’s portrayal of the troubled and complex character had me captivated from start to finish. However, there’s one aspect of his performance that’s been bothering me.

While Culkin’s acting was undeniably brilliant, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease about the way he portrayed certain scenes. In particular, his character’s treatment of others and his lack of empathy towards those around him left me feeling unsettled. It’s clear that Culkin fully committed to the role, but I can’t shake the feeling that his character’s behavior may have crossed a line.

As much as I admire Culkin’s talent as an actor, I can’t help but wonder if his performance went too far in certain moments. While I understand that this is just a fictional portrayal, I can’t help but feel that there are real-life implications to consider when depicting such troubling behavior on screen.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed watching A Real Pain and Kieran Culkin’s performance was truly remarkable. However, I think it’s important to acknowledge and discuss the potentially problematic aspects of his character’s actions. It’s a fine line to walk as an actor, and I hope that Culkin and the creators of the show will continue to explore these complex themes in a thoughtful and responsible manner.
