Pebble Beach Pro Am celebrities, amateur pairings
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has an incredible field of stars from the PGA Tour. Eight of the top 10 in the World Golf Rankings will be there, as well as 45 of the top 50. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will finally make his 2025 debut.
And he’ll be paired with the CEO of TaylorMade for the first two rounds. That’s right, the “am” part of the Pro-Am means each pro will be partnered not just with a PGA Tour counterpart, but also with an amateur Thursday and Friday.
Many of those amateurs are known for their other jobs. Super Bowl, NBA and World Cup champions will be on the links, and some will come down from the owner’s box to participate. There will even be a former U.S. secretary of State hitting the tee box.
Watch PGA Tour live on ESPN+Rory McIlroy and Jeff Rhodes claimed the pro-am title last year, beating three other pairings by a stroke over the event’s first two days. Wyndham Clark went on to win the overall tournament, which was held to just three rounds because of weather.

Projected Lines, Defensive Pairings For Bruins-Rangers Matchup
The Bruins play another Saturday matinee and in back-to-back weeks, will get another first look at a star forward on a new team.
Boston played spoiler last week when it handed the Avalanche a loss in Martin Necas’ Colorado debut. The Black and Gold hope to do the same again when J.T. Miller is expected to make his Rangers debut after the Vancouver Canucks traded the star forward to New York on Friday.
The Bruins could get Mark Kastelic back Saturday to help break their two-game losing streak heading into Saturday. The forward had been out with an upper-body injury since Jan. 20 and was optimistic about a return after participating in morning skate this week.
Hampus Lindholm continues to make strides toward a return. However, he is not expected to suit up against the Rangers. Jeremy Swayman is expected to get the nod in net for the B’s.
Puck drop at TD Garden for the Bruins-Rangers matchup is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Bruins-Jets Projected Lines, Pairings: Charlie McAvoy Returns
The Bruins are about to embark on a three-game homestand at TD Garden, with the first matchup coming on Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets.
Boston will have the benefit of two stalwarts returning to the lineup.
Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo will re-enter the fold, with the former snapping a seven-game absence from his undisclosed upper-body injury and the latter returning after a short illness.
“We’re excited,” Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco said on Thursday, per team-provided transcription. “… Having Charlie out for the length that he was out, it’s great to have him back. He seems to be in a really good spirit right now. He’s got some good practices under his belt. He looked good in the morning skate today. We’re excited to have him back in our lineup and help stabilize the back end for us.”
Joonas Korpisalo will get the start over Jeremy Swayman.

Bruins-Blue Jackets Projected Lines, Pairings: Jeremy Swayman Starts
The Bruins finish off a home-and-home series against the Blue Jackets on Saturday hoping to avenge a forgettable loss.
Columbus dominated Boston with a 6-2 win at Nationwide Arena on Friday. It marked another dominant win for the Blue Jackets over the Black and Gold, but the B’s carry a short memory of the “unacceptable” loss heading into TD Garden.
Neither side held a morning skate Saturday morning. The only change expected for the Bruins is in net with Jeremy Swayman getting the nod for Joonas Korpisalo. Marc McLaughlin won’t be an option because the forward was loaned to Providence, per the AHL transaction wire.
Columbus dressed 11 forwards and seven defensemen in the last two games. It’s unknown if Dean Evason will roll out the same lineup, but the B’s will look to be prepared to avoid a two-game losing streak.
Puck drop for Boston-Columbus is scheduled at 7 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN after an hour of pregame.

Platter Pairings: Matching Food and Wine for the Perfect Spread
When it comes to hosting a dinner party or gathering, one of the most important aspects to consider is the food and wine pairings. The right combination of flavors can elevate the dining experience and leave your guests impressed. One popular option for serving a variety of dishes is a platter spread, which allows for a mix of flavors and textures to be enjoyed together. To ensure a successful platter pairing, here are some tips for matching food and wine for the perfect spread.First and foremost, consider the flavors and textures of the dishes on your platter. If you have a mix of savory and sweet items, it’s important to choose wines that can complement both. For example, a light and crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with seafood and salads, while a bold and fruity red wine like Merlot complements richer dishes like meats and cheeses.
When selecting wines for your platter, it’s also important to consider the acidity level of the wine. High-acid wines like Chardonnay or Pinot Noir can help cut through rich and fatty foods, while low-acid wines like Malbec or Shiraz can enhance the flavors of spicy or savory dishes.
In addition to considering the flavors of the dishes, think about the overall theme or cuisine of your platter spread. If you’re serving Mediterranean-inspired dishes, a crisp and acidic white wine like a Pinot Grigio or a light and fruity red wine like a Grenache would be a good choice. For a more decadent spread of cheeses and charcuterie, a bold and robust wine like a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Syrah would be a great match.
Lastly, don’t forget to consider the preferences of your guests. While it’s important to choose wines that pair well with the food you’re serving, it’s also important to offer a variety of options to accommodate different tastes. Consider offering a mix of red, white, and sparkling wines to appeal to a range of palates.
In conclusion, when planning a platter spread for your next gathering, take the time to carefully consider the food and wine pairings. By matching the flavors and textures of the dishes with the right wines, you can create a memorable dining experience that will impress your guests. Cheers to a successful and delicious platter pairing!
Platter Pairings: The Perfect Combinations for a Mouthwatering Spread
When it comes to creating the perfect spread for a party or gathering, platter pairings are essential. By combining different flavors, textures, and colors, you can create a mouthwatering platter that will impress your guests and leave them coming back for more. One of the keys to a successful platter pairing is to choose a variety of ingredients that complement each other. Think about combining sweet and savory flavors, crunchy and creamy textures, and bold and mild tastes. By incorporating a mix of different elements, you can create a diverse and exciting spread that will appeal to a wide range of palates.
When selecting ingredients for your platter, consider incorporating a mix of fruits, cheeses, meats, nuts, and spreads. For example, you could pair slices of juicy watermelon with tangy feta cheese, salty prosciutto, and crunchy almonds. Or, you could combine creamy brie cheese with sweet fig jam, salty crackers, and tart grapes. The options are endless, so don’t be afraid to get creative and experiment with different combinations.
In addition to selecting a variety of ingredients, it’s also important to consider the presentation of your platter. Arrange your ingredients in an attractive and inviting way, using different shapes, colors, and textures to create a visually appealing spread. Consider using a mix of serving dishes, bowls, and platters to showcase your ingredients and make them easy for guests to access.
When it comes to serving your platter pairings, consider offering a mix of utensils and napkins to make it easy for guests to enjoy the spread. You could also provide some small plates or bowls for guests to use as they sample different combinations. And don’t forget to include some wine or cocktails to complement the flavors of your platter pairings.
By taking the time to carefully select ingredients, arrange them thoughtfully, and serve them with style, you can create a mouthwatering spread that will impress your guests and make your gathering truly memorable. So next time you’re planning a party or get-together, consider incorporating platter pairings into your menu for a delicious and exciting culinary experience.
Platter Pairings: Matching Wine and Cheese for the Perfect Combination
When it comes to hosting a gathering or enjoying a relaxing evening at home, there’s nothing quite like a perfectly paired wine and cheese platter. The combination of these two culinary delights can elevate any dining experience and create a symphony of flavors on your palate. Whether you’re a seasoned sommelier or a novice cheese enthusiast, knowing how to match wine and cheese can take your taste buds on a journey of pure bliss. When it comes to creating a successful wine and cheese pairing, the key is to balance the flavors and textures of both components. The acidity, sweetness, and tannins of the wine should complement the creaminess, saltiness, and intensity of the cheese. To help you achieve the perfect combination, here are some classic platter pairings to get you started:
1. Chardonnay and Brie: The buttery and creamy texture of Brie cheese pairs beautifully with the crisp acidity of a Chardonnay. The wine’s notes of apple, pear, and citrus help cut through the richness of the cheese, creating a harmonious balance on the palate.
2. Cabernet Sauvignon and aged Cheddar: The bold and robust flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon are a match made in heaven with the sharp and tangy taste of aged Cheddar cheese. The wine’s dark fruit flavors and tannic structure complement the intense flavors of the cheese, creating a dynamic pairing that lingers on the palate.
3. Sauvignon Blanc and goat cheese: The zesty and herbaceous notes of Sauvignon Blanc are a perfect match for the tangy and earthy flavors of goat cheese. The wine’s bright acidity and citrusy undertones enhance the creamy texture of the cheese, creating a refreshing and palate-cleansing combination.
4. Pinot Noir and Gruyère: The silky and smooth texture of Gruyère cheese pairs beautifully with the elegant and fruity notes of Pinot Noir. The wine’s red fruit flavors and subtle earthiness complement the nutty and savory flavors of the cheese, creating a luxurious and indulgent pairing.
5. Sparkling wine and triple cream cheese: The effervescence and acidity of sparkling wine are a perfect match for the velvety and decadent texture of triple cream cheese. The wine’s crisp bubbles help cut through the richness of the cheese, creating a light and refreshing pairing that is sure to impress your guests.
When creating a wine and cheese platter, it’s important to consider the temperature of both components. Serve the wine slightly chilled and the cheese at room temperature to allow their flavors to shine. Additionally, don’t be afraid to experiment with different pairings and discover your own unique combinations.
Whether you’re hosting a wine tasting party or simply indulging in a cozy night in, matching wine and cheese can elevate your dining experience to new heights. By following these classic platter pairings and experimenting with different combinations, you can create the perfect harmony of flavors and textures that will leave your taste buds craving for more. Cheers to the perfect wine and cheese pairing!
