A Texas school district has acknowledged footage of one of its administrators telling an undercover journalist posing as a parent to change a transgender child’s birth certificate to compete in girls sports.
The Irving Independent School District in Irving, Texas, has provided a statement to Fox News Digital addressing the recent video of Reny Lizardo, the executive director of campus operations, giving this guidance, which was obtained by Accuracy in Media.
The statement indicates Lizardo has resigned from his position.
“In Irving ISD, we are committed to upholding the requirements of state and federal laws, especially as it pertains to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, and we will cooperate with any investigation initiated by relevant authorities,” the statement said.

“We are aware of the unauthorized video footage circulating on social media of an individual connected with Irving ISD. The videos were obtained under false pretenses by an individual who posed as a concerned parent and additional individuals who posed as family friends of the employee pictured.
“The individuals also held themselves out as members of the media, but were not credentialed as such, constituting a breach of security. In addition, the footage has been edited and is an incomplete representation of the entire conversation, making it difficult to properly assess its probative value.”
In the footage, Lizardo said, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught,” with regard to changing the gender on a child’s birth certificate, and “if you can get that done, and you turn us a birth certificate that says ‘this gender,’ that’s the gender we go with.”
While discussing potential repercussions of the discussion, Lizardo suggested pleading plausible deniability.
The district insists Lizardo’s handling of the situation does not reflect the values and protocols of the school district.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Lizardo for comment.
HOW TRANSGENDERISM IN SPORTS SHIFTED THE 2024 ELECTION AND IGNITED A NATIONAL COUNTERCULTURE
“We want to reiterate that Irving ISD complies with all state and federal laws, and all employees are expected to adhere to any and all legal and ethical standards. The message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district,” the statement said.
“Individual employees do not speak on behalf of the district. The individual identified was acting outside of his role as it relates to legal and regulatory expertise. While the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation.”
The district’s statement concludes by claiming all of its athletes participate in the proper gender category.
“We can also confirm that all Irving ISD student-athletes are participating in their sport in accordance with the sex they were assigned at birth,” the district said. “Irving ISD is unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff. We remain focused on our primary function to maintain educational excellence and foster the full potential of our students.”

Texas is one of 25 states in the U.S. with a law that prevents or restricts transgender athletes from competing against girls and women. In June 2023, the state passed the Save Women’s Sports Act that prohibits transgender athletes from competing in girls and women’s sports and only allows students to compete in the gender category listed on their birth certificate.
The law only allows schools to recognize changes made to birth certificates that were made to correct a clerical error.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott addressed the footage involving Lizardo in a post on X and called for him to be fired and investigated.
“This Irving ISD Administrator should be fired on the spot. Both criminal & civil investigations must be taken against both the Administrator & Irving ISD,” Abbott wrote. “Has Irving ISD and its employees been involved in a fraudulent breach of state laws & a cover up? We must get the facts.”

In response to the video, the school has issued a statement denouncing the actions of the official and confirming that they do not condone or support any form of discrimination or prejudice. The school has also launched an investigation into the incident and has taken immediate steps to ensure that all students, regardless of their gender identity, are treated with respect and dignity.
Furthermore, the school has announced that they will be implementing new policies and procedures to ensure that all students are able to participate in sports teams and activities in a fair and inclusive manner. The school is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, and will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment.
The video may have sparked controversy, but the school’s swift and decisive response demonstrates their commitment to upholding the values of equality and acceptance. Roughly two-thirds of parents considered switching their children to a new school last year, but less than half of them followed through, a new national survey shows, The 74 reported.
The National School Choice Awareness Foundation published a January survey asking 2,873 parents about changing their child’s school. About 60% of parents said they considered a different school, but only 28% made a change.
Of those who did move their kids, 28% chose a public school, 31% picked a public charter or magnet school, nearly 14% chose a private or religious school and 27% went with other options including online schooling, homeschooling or a microschool.
Interest in homeschooling, hybrid learning and microschools skyrocketed this year, The 74 reported, compared with similar surveys given from 2022 to 2024. Nearly two-thirds of parents thought about homeschooling, up from 23%, while interest in microschools and hybrid learning jumped from 5% to 16%. The percentage of those thinking about private schools also rose, from 29% to 36%.
Also, parents were less likely to consider public schools than they were in previous surveys: 35%, down from an average of 45%.

Are you one of the many parents who have considered switching schools for your child? According to a recent survey, a significant percentage of parents are contemplating making a change in their child’s education.
The survey, which interviewed over 500 parents across the country, found that 65% of parents have thought about switching schools for their child. The top reasons cited for wanting to make a change included dissatisfaction with the current school’s academic performance, bullying or safety concerns, and a desire for a different educational approach.
Switching schools can be a difficult decision for parents, as it often involves uprooting their child from familiar surroundings and routines. However, many parents are willing to make the switch if they believe it will benefit their child’s education and overall well-being.
If you are one of the parents considering switching schools, it may be helpful to research different options in your area and speak with other parents who have made similar decisions. Ultimately, the most important factor is finding a school that aligns with your child’s needs and values, and provides a safe and supportive learning environment.

In new data released by the nonprofit Groundwork Ohio, it found that out of nearly 500 parents, one-third have chosen to stay home to offset high childcare costs.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Parents are struggling to make ends meet when it comes to affording childcare.
In new data released by the nonprofit Groundwork Ohio, it found that out of nearly 500 parents, one-third have chosen to stay home to offset high childcare costs. Sixty-six percent of parents are struggling, which is up 10% from 2023.
One area mom who didn’t wish to give her name to protect her children’s privacy said she was paying $2,500 a month for her kids daycare.
“There was no value to it and if you couple in all the sick days, the visits to the doctor because they were getting sick, there is no value except my child is in a semi safe space,” said the mom.
The study also found one-third of parents are also reporting having serious problems paying their mortgage or rent while one-half say they also have issues paying credit card bills and other debt. 61% of non-full-time Ohio moms told Groundwork Ohio they would go back to work if their child had access to quality child care at a reasonable cost.
“I would go back to work at a point when it’s a safe and beneficial thing to do and I say in the sense that my kids aren’t getting sick every day,” the mom added.
Columbus day care owner Twana Parker at Parker’s Learning Center said while affording child care is challenging for most families, it’s even harder on single parents.
“If mom is at work, if she’s working from home, then you have the mom not working from home who has to quit her job because her kids have nowhere to go,” said Parker. “She can’t leave them at home by herself because she then has a case. So it’s a lot for our parents right now.”
Over at America’s Childcare, employee Krista Parker said she thinks qualifications for child care assistance need to be lowered.
“It’s heartbreaking when you don’t qualify over a dollar and I’m telling you they won’t budge,” Parker added.
Groundwork Ohio also found that 1 million parents have also had to cut back on hours worked to help care for their children.
According to recent data, many parents in Central Ohio are facing a difficult reality: they want to work, but simply can’t afford to. The cost of childcare, transportation, and other expenses are proving to be significant barriers for parents looking to re-enter the workforce.
This issue is particularly concerning as we continue to navigate the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. With job opportunities becoming increasingly scarce and financial strain mounting, many parents are finding themselves in a Catch-22 situation.
It’s clear that more support is needed for these families in Central Ohio. From increased access to affordable childcare options to more robust transportation assistance, there are a number of potential solutions that could help alleviate the financial burdens facing these parents.
As we work to rebuild our economy and support those in need, it’s crucial that we prioritize the needs of working parents in Central Ohio. By addressing these challenges head-on, we can help ensure that all families have the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Meek Mill, like many, was disturbed by DJ Akademiks‘ behavior this weekend, as he was accused of grooming after engaging in a sexual conversation online with a 15-year-old boy. The Philadelphia rapper has since issued a warning to parents regarding the popular streamer, advising they block him on their kids’ phones and computers for safety reasons.
“If [you’re] a parent go get ya kids phone and block this man, he’s grooming children with a very large platform that ‘kids’ like,” Meek, 37, tweeted after a clip of the inappropriate conversation went viral. “Also attempts to ruin black families and black success daily, ‘VILLAN IN THE VILLAGE.’” His words captioned a screenshot of him preparing to block Ak on his own phone. See the post below.
Meek and Ak’s tension date back to 2017 when, according to Akademiks, Meek took issue with him not promoting Meek’s Wins & Losses album on his platform. “Meek, he didn’t appreciate I didn’t post his album,” he explained on a 2017 episode of Everyday Struggle. “However, it was really confusing to me ’cause about six months ago, Meek had sent me a DM. Him and the rest of the ‘Chasers, they gave me a little digital jump and a light one. They said, ‘Listen, either post us this way or don’t post us at all.’”
Ak went on to say that Meek and his Chasers crew later threatened him, resulting in him refusing to post Meek at all. “Next thing I’m seeing, they were threatening me,” Ak said at the time. “‘When I see him, I’ma gonna give him a wedgie, I’ma slap him.’ I’m like, ‘Oh shit! I think I’m posting them wrong.’ So, I stopped posting them.”
Meek later attempted to get Ak cancelled in June of 2020, tweeting that the streamer is responsible for gassing up beefs that resulted in a loss of life.
“Akademiks canceled because he’s a bad police and our culture don’t need them… he also gassed a lot of beef that got people killed and hurt and never donated a dollar to the culture! We gon holla at you next run champ lol.”
Six months later, Meek and Ak went head-to-head on the Clubhouse app, exchanging harsh words until 21 Savage began to mediate the out-of-control conversation. The pair have continued to go back-and-forth since, with no sign of resolution in sight.

Akademiks’ most recent incident found the streamer making inappropriate remarks to a 15-year-old boy during a session on fellow streamer PlaqueBoyMax‘s channel, including asking about his sex life and offering to perform a sexual act on the minor. Ak — who was previously accused of rape — was immediately faced with accusations of grooming, later admitting to his crass behavior.
“I’ve done a lot of bulls**t up in this game,” he said. “Trust me. I’ve got mine off. This issue aside – which, again. I am wrong. I will be better. This is a teachable moment. For me, obviously, I got to watch my speech. That’s clear. […] Definitely a regrettable moment, and we’re going to use it as a teachable moment. Because I don’t think I’ve came this far, built this platform, to be that irresponsible, right?”
In a recent Instagram post, rapper Meek Mill urged parents to block controversial media personality DJ Akademiks after a disturbing incident involving grooming came to light.
Meek Mill, known for his outspoken views on social issues, took to social media to express his concerns about DJ Akademiks’ behavior. The incident in question allegedly involved DJ Akademiks grooming a young fan on social media, sparking outrage among Meek Mill’s followers.
The rapper encouraged parents to be vigilant and monitor their children’s online interactions, warning against the dangers of predators using social media platforms to target vulnerable individuals. Meek Mill emphasized the importance of protecting young people from harm and urged parents to take action by blocking DJ Akademiks and other questionable figures online.
This post serves as a reminder of the need for parents to stay informed and actively safeguard their children in the digital age. Meek Mill’s call to action highlights the responsibility we all have to protect those who are most vulnerable in our communities.

ENGLAND ace Jude Bellingham is seen for the first time with his new Instagram model girlfriend.
The Real Madrid star, 21, has been on a string of dates with American Ashlyn Castro, 27 — who met his parents this week in the Spanish capital.
Instagram model Ashlyn chatted to his mum Denise, 56, and dad Mark, 48, in Real Madrid’s Wags and family box on Wednesday.
The American even hugged Denise as Jude’s team ran out 5-1 winners against Salzburg in the Champions League.
England superstar Jude and Ashlyn then went for lunch together the next day.
Pals say they have been on several dates after they began liking each other’s social media posts.
Jude was said to have been particularly drawn to one in November featuring pictures of Ashlyn in a low-cut dress laying on a bed.
She is from Los Angeles where Jude and Three Lions team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold went on holiday after the Euros in July.
Ashlyn, who has 140,000 Instagram followers, was rumoured to have previously dated Creed actor Michael B Jordan and was linked with basketball player LaMelo Ball, 23.
She suffered heartbreak in July 2021 when her dad died from Covid, aged 59. In a touching tribute, she described him as “superman to me”.
Jude was crowned Britain’s most eligible bachelor by posh gossip magazine Tatler in October.
It said: “For this midfielder, it’s all about the right or left swipe — and we aren’t talking about footwork. Rumours are swirling that he’s on celeb dating app Raya.”
In April there was speculation that Jude had been dating model Laura Celia Valk, 26, who was said to be “completely smitten”. Last month she said she was single.
In 2023 he was reportedly dating Ghanaian model Asantewa Chitty. He is also said to have dated US TikTok star Azra Mian.
In 2023 The Sun revealed he had been messaging R&B singer Rmarni. Last night Jude’s agent and Real Madrid were approached for comment. The Sun also sought comment from Ashlyn.
England ace Jude Bellingham has been spotted for the first time with his stunning model girlfriend, and it seems like things are getting serious between the two. The couple was seen out and about together, looking happy and comfortable in each other’s company.
What’s even more surprising is that the model has already met Jude’s parents, indicating that their relationship is progressing quickly. Fans of the football star are eager to learn more about his new flame and are excited to see where their romance will go.
Stay tuned for more updates on Jude Bellingham and his gorgeous girlfriend as their love story continues to unfold.

Conan O’Brien is preparing to host the 97th annual Academy Awards by taking everything “a day at a time.”
It’s been a tough few months for the comedian, 61, who, a month after being announced as the host of the 2025 Oscars in November, lost both his parents three days apart from one another.
While his Pacific Palisades home was spared in the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires that began on Tuesday, Jan. 7, O’Brien is all too aware of the destruction they have left behind for so many.

“It has been a lot happening in a very short time, and there’s a lot that happened in my personal life starting in December that was intense, and then going into this month with the fires and prep for what’s coming up,” he tells PEOPLE at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, held at the Library Center Theatre in Park City, Utah, on Friday, Jan. 24.

The actor’s father, Dr. Thomas O’Brien, died at 95 on Dec. 9, after “his health had been failing,” The Boston Globe reported.
His mother, Ruth Reardon O’Brien, died “peacefully” at 92 on Dec. 12, according to an obituary shared by the Bell-O’Dea Funeral Home in Brookline, Mass.
O’Brien tells PEOPLE, “It’s been a time where I just take it a day at a time,” which is the “advice” he’s been offering to others in Los Angeles.
He recalls speaking to the woman who drove him to the premiere about the ongoing fires and learning that she was actually from Los Angeles and her apartment “burned to the ground.”

“It’s the time to be asking other people how they’re doing, listening to them,” says O’Brien.
“In that respect, some of the things I’m doing, like come here at Sundance for [the] film or the Oscars award show coming up, can seem silly and trivial, but they’re also important at the same time because we keep going,” he continues. “We keep going. We keep making stuff.”
As of Friday, Jan. 24, the Palisades Fire has burned 23,448 acres and is 77% contained. The Eaton Fire is 95% contained after burning 14,021 acres, while the Hughes Fire is 56% contained after burning 10,396, per the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).
