The Kansas City Chiefs gave a subtle nod to the Mahomes family and their newest addition ahead of the team’s first NFL playoff game of the season.

“QB1’s looking Golden,” the Chiefs posted on X on Saturday, January 18. The post featured video of starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes arriving at Arrowhead Stadium as the team prepares to take on the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Patrick’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, responded to the sweet tribute, re-sharing the OG post in her Instagram Story while writing, “The caption” along with one big eyed and one ugly crying emoji.

Earlier this week, on Monday, January 13, Patrick and Brittany announced the birth of their third child. The pair also shared her unique name.

“•Golden Raye Mahomes• 1/12/25the pair captioned the joint Instagram post, sharing a black-and-white photo of the couple holding their newborn daughter’s feet. The couple, who tied the knot in March 2022, are already parents of daughter Sterling and son Bronze, who arrived in February 2021 and November 2022, respectively.

Several celebrities couldn’t be happier for Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes after the couple announced the arrival of baby No. 3. “•Golden Raye Mahomes• 1/12/25,” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram post on Monday, January 13, alongside a black-and-white picture of the newborn’s feet. The upload was quickly filled with congratulatory messages from fans […]

Multiple celebrities quickly took to the comments section to congratulate the couple, including Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, who “liked” the post.

“Uncle jack loves her so much already,” Patrick’s brother, Jack Mahomes, wrote in his own Instagram story, reposting the pair’s announcement photo set to Swift’s song, “Daylight.”

“Today was awesome getting to meet you sweet Golden! Can’t wait for the memories to come! You have the BEST PARENTS EVER,” he continued in the post. “And best uncle.”

Kelce and big brother — and retired Philadelphia Eagles center — Jason Kelce also congratulated the couple via their “Great Heights” podcast’s Instagram account.

The proud mom recently gave fans an inside look into Golden’s nursery via an Instagram post shared on Thursday, January 16.

Taylor Swift subtly shared her support for pals Brittany and Patrick Mahomes after the recent arrival of their third baby. Swift, 35, dropped a “like” on Brittany’s Monday, January 13, Instagram post announcing the birth of her third child, daughter Golden. Brittany’s post revealed that the little one arrived one day prior on Sunday, January […]

“When I found out I was having a baby girl, my mind immediately went to pink for the nursery,” she explained. “I really wanted to go very warm and pink with Golden’s nursery. And then obviously tying in the gold just to go with her name was really where we got most of the inspiration for her room.”

While the Chiefs made it a point to shout out Golden’s arrival as the team prepared for their first playoff game of the year, new mom Brittany was MIA (and understandably so, considering she just had a baby). Her BFF, Swift, was in attendance, however — the pop star arrived at the divisional playoff game wearing a chic black minidress with a pearl Chanel belt and a matching checked jacket. She completed her look with a coordinating Chanel handbag and her signature red lip.

Earlier this week, Kelce confirmed that Swift would be in the stands. “You know it, baby,” he said during the Monday, January 13, episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. “You know it’s playoff football, man.”

Kelce also made a reference to one of Swift’s most popular lyrics while sharing his excitement for the game. “I’m feeling fired up,” he noted. “I’m feeling 22 all over again, baby. Let’s go.”

The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for their NFL playoff game this weekend, but before hitting the field, they took a moment to honor their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his new baby girl.

Mahomes and his fiancée Brittany Matthews welcomed their first child, Sterling Skye Mahomes, earlier this week. The Chiefs showed their support for their teammate by presenting him with a special gift and offering their congratulations.

In a heartwarming gesture, the team shared a photo on social media of Mahomes holding his daughter while surrounded by his teammates, who were wearing shirts that read “Mahomes Mafia.” The Chiefs also gave Mahomes a personalized jersey with his daughter’s name on the back.

The bond between Mahomes and his teammates is clearly strong, and this touching moment serves as a reminder of the support and camaraderie that exists within the Chiefs organization.

As Mahomes prepares to lead his team into battle on the football field, he can take comfort in knowing that he has the love and support of his football family behind him. The Chiefs are undoubtedly proud to have Mahomes as their leader, both on and off the field.

Congratulations to Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Sterling Skye. The Chiefs are honored to celebrate this special moment with their quarterback as they continue their journey towards another Super Bowl victory.

  • Brittany Mahomes reveals name she and Patrick rejected for baby Golden

Brittany Mahomes vetoed the name her daughter Sterling wanted to give baby No. 3.

“My daughter wants me to name her Elsa,” Patrick Mahomes’ wife told Today.com in an interview published Thursday, noting that the 3-year-old “was set on it for a while.”

She clarified, “But, obviously, we’re not doing that!”

Brittany and Patrick, both 29, named their baby girl Golden to follow their metal theme when she arrived on Sunday — but had a hard time choosing her middle name, Raye.

“We went back and forth for a while,” she explained. “But the one we settled on, we really, really love.”

Brittany went on to tell the outlet that son Bronze, 2, had been referring to the upcoming arrival as “baby sissy.”

Brittany and Patrick announced in July 2024 that their family was expanding.

Golden made her Instagram debut on Monday, with the couple posting a black-and-white photo of her feet that Taylor Swift “liked.”

Patrick opened up about the infant at a press conference Tuesday.

“It’s cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how our kids react to her,” the Kansas City Chiefs player said. “Having baby sissy and stuff like that.”

He spoke about trying to “be supportive” of Brittany as she was “doing everything” for the newborn.

The quarterback also revealed that he was open to “maybe” welcoming a fourth baby somewhere “down the line” — despite previously saying he was “done.”

Patrick and Brittany have been together since high school and tied the knot in March 2022 in Hawaii.

Sterling and Bronze were born in February 2021 and November 2022, respectively.

Brittany Mahomes, wife of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes, recently took to Instagram to reveal the name that she and Patrick ultimately decided against for their newborn daughter, Golden. In a candid post, Brittany shared that they had considered naming their daughter “Harper” before ultimately settling on Golden.

The couple welcomed their first child together in February 2021, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news of the baby girl’s name. Brittany’s post gave a glimpse into their decision-making process and the thought that went into choosing the perfect name for their daughter.

Fans flooded the comments with messages of support and excitement, expressing their love for the name Golden and praising the couple for their thoughtful decision-making. It’s clear that Brittany and Patrick put a lot of thought and care into choosing the perfect name for their little one, and fans couldn’t be happier for them.

Congratulations to Brittany and Patrick on the arrival of their daughter Golden, and here’s to many more happy moments for their growing family!

  • Patrick Mahomes set to play first game as a father of three – How did Tom Brady play in his?

Patrick Mahomes will take the field for the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday for the first time as a father of three children.

Mahomes and his wife Brittany welcomed their newest daughter, Golden Raye, on Jan. 12. The quarterback was fortunate enough to have earned a bye week for the weekend of Golden Raye’s arrival, but returned to practice just days later.

Now he is set to face the Houston Texans in the divisional round playoff game. He bears the historic pressure of trying to lead his team to a third straight Super Bowl – something no team has ever done – alongside the personal pressure of fathering another newborn girl.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

As the only active quarterback with a realistic shot to contend with Tom Brady in all-time legacy discussion, Mahomes faces a much higher-stakes task than Brady did when he took the field as a father of three for the first time.

Brady welcomed his third child, daughter Vivian Lake, on Dec. 5, 2012 – weeks before any do-or-die playoff action.

But the stakes were still pretty high. And like Mahomes, Brady’s first game after having his third child also came against the Houston Texans.

Brady and the New England Patriots welcomed a Texans team that led the AFC at the time with an 11-1 record into Gilette Stadium for a Monday Night Football showdown. Brady had the Patriots at a 9-3 record, as they looked to chase Houston down for the top spot.

And Brady didn’t miss a beat.

The former Patriots quarterback had a signature game, throwing for 296 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, as New England dominated 42-14. Brady even had a whopping six rushing yards on one carry, which was a good night on the ground for him by his standards in those days.

After the game, Brady relished the win as the perfect ending to the week, as he informed reporters that his then-wife, Giselle Bundchen, was doing well after the birth.

“She is doing very well,” Brady told reporters of Bundchen after the game. “It’s been a great week, a great way to end it.”

Mahomes has a high bar to live up to. But if he does pull off a similar performance to the one Brady did in 2012, his performance may be even more amplified in how it is recognized.

With a divisional round victory, Mahomes and the Chiefs will be just two wins away from taking home their unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title. The spotlight will be even brighter on Mahomes and his wife on Saturday than it was on Brady in 2012, as Taylor Swift is set to attend, possibly alongside Brittany.

And like Brady’s 2012 game, Saturday may be the last time Mahomes ever plays football right after having a child.

“I’m good with three for right now,” he told reporters on Tuesday when asked whether he would have another child. “We’ll see down the line, maybe, but my goal was always three, so we’ve had three, and we’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.”

On Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will step onto the field for the first time as a father of three, after welcoming his daughter Sterling Skye earlier this year. As Mahomes prepares for this new chapter in his life, many fans are curious to see how he will perform on the field as a new dad.

Coincidentally, another legendary quarterback, Tom Brady, also played his first game as a father of three back in 2012. Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen welcomed their daughter Vivian Lake just a few months before the start of the NFL season. Despite the added responsibilities of fatherhood, Brady led the New England Patriots to a successful season, ultimately making it to the AFC Championship game.

It will be interesting to see how Mahomes handles the challenges of balancing fatherhood with his professional football career. With his talent and determination, there’s no doubt that Mahomes will continue to shine on the field, just like Brady did when he became a father of three. Fans can tune in to Mahomes’ first game as a father of three this Sunday to see how he handles this exciting new chapter in his life.

  • Patrick Dempsey’s ‘Scream 7’ Return Is Officially Dead

On Thursday, the Scream fandom was hit with some particularly tough news after it was revealed that Community alum, Joel McHale, would be starring in the upcoming seventh film as the husband of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott. It’s not that there’s some secret beef brewing between the comedy actor and the horror franchise’s following, but it’s a casting that cuts deep for those of us who were certain that Sidney’s husband was going to be Patrick Dempsey’s Detective Mark Kincaid. Although, there were some who were still holding onto hope that Detective Kincaid, who was first introduced in 2000’s Scream 3, would pop up in the upcoming film in a different way. Today that dream has died, as Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Dempsey will in no way be involved with Scream 7.

We know that we can’t always get what we want, and we will try to accept McHale as our new Mark, but it’s going to be really difficult. For those who may need a refresher, Dempsey’s Detective Mark Kincaid joined the family through the Wes Craven-directed Scream 3. The character was tasked with keeping Sidney safe, with the romantic tension building while they hunted the new Ghostface. While we wouldn’t see him on-screen in any of the films that followed, the character “Mark” was alluded to in both the fifth and sixth titles, as Sidney’s husband. Naturally, the fandom believed that the “Mark” in question was Det. Mark Kincaid, but the creative team behind Scream 7 pulled the ol’ bait and switch through yesterday’s bummer announcement.

And just to be clear, we – as the Scream fan community – weren’t simply fan-casting Dempsey into the upcoming movie, with the actor himself teasing his potential return last fall. In October, the Grey’s Anatomy alum appeared on The Today Show, revealing that he had – in fact – been in talks for Scream 7, sharing,

“I’m waiting on the script. There has been a conversation about it. I haven’t seen anything yet. So, we’ll see what happens.”

Clearly, those talks didn’t end in the way we were all hoping they would, with Dempsey’s replacement officially unveiled yesterday. As of right now, it’s unclear how those discussions broke down, leading the production to move in a different direction.

    Patrick Dempsey’s Other Slasher Family

Okay, so now that Scream is out, we will just need to stay extra patient and vigilant for Dempsey’s hopeful return in Eli Roth’s highly-anticipated Thanksgiving 2. The original movie, which carved its way into cinemas back in 2023, was an immediate crowd-pleaser, with a sequel already in the works. It allowed Dempsey to step into a completely different role than we’re used to seeing him in, and also gave him the chance to use that New England accent that he’d been forced to keep tucked away during most of his career. While a plot and casting list hasn’t been announced for the slasher sequel, we’re certainly hoping that Dempsey will be back to clean up the leftovers.

Stay tuned to Collider for more information about Scream 7. The previous two Scream films are currently streaming on Paramount+.

In a disappointing turn of events for horror fans, it has been confirmed that Patrick Dempsey will not be returning for ‘Scream 7’. The actor, who portrayed Detective Mark Kincaid in ‘Scream 4’, was rumored to be reprising his role for the upcoming installment of the popular slasher franchise.

Fans had been eagerly anticipating Dempsey’s return, as his character was a fan favorite in ‘Scream 4’. However, it seems that scheduling conflicts and other commitments have prevented the actor from participating in ‘Scream 7’.

While it is certainly disappointing news for fans of the series, the show must go on. ‘Scream 7’ is still in production and is set to be released in the near future. The film will feature a new cast of characters and is sure to bring plenty of scares and surprises for audiences.

Although Patrick Dempsey will not be a part of ‘Scream 7’, fans can still look forward to seeing their favorite horror icons return to the big screen in what is sure to be another thrilling chapter in the ‘Scream’ saga.

  • ‘Scream 7’ will see Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband, not Patrick Dempsey

In another surprise move for the Scream franchise, Patrick Dempsey‘s Detective Mark Kincaid is not the husband of Neve Campbell‘s Sidney Prescott in the current timeline. A new piece of casting for the seventh film, which is now in production in Atlanta, sheds light on who is.

Joel McHale (Community) will officially play the role of Mark Evans, a completely different Mark who is married to Sidney in Scream 7, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Deadline was the first to report the news.

Fans (including this writer) long presumed Dempsey’s Kincaid married Ms. Prescott off-screen. The Grey’s Anatomy vet and Ferrari star first arrived in Scream 3 (2000) as the Hollywood detective investigating the murders of Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) and the actors associated with Stab 3, the latest slasher movie-within-the-movie adaptation of the Woodsboro massacre. Years later, during scenes in 2022’s Scream revamp and its sequel, 2023’s Scream VI, characters referred to Sidney’s husband as “Mark,” presumably being Mark Kincaid.

Patrick Dempsey as Mark Kincaid in ‘Scream 3’.
    Dimension Films

Dempsey even signaled a potential casting in Scream 7 this past October during an interview with the morning talk show hosts of the Today show. “I’m waiting on the script,” he said at the time. “There has been a conversation about it. I haven’t seen anything yet, so we’ll see what happens.”

EW reached out to representatives for Spyglass and Dempsey for clarification, though it seems like those negotiations never came together. Dempsey is not in the movie at all, EW has learned.

In addition to Campbell, McHale now joins Isabel May as Sidney and Mark Evans’ daughter; Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers; Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin; and Mckenna Grace, Grace’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife costar Celeste O’Connor, Gen V‘s Asa Germann, The Fabelmans‘ Sam Rechner, and Pitch Perfect‘s Anna Camp as undisclosed characters.

Jasmin Savoy Brown, who stars in Yellowjackets opposite McHale as an upcoming season 3 guest star, is also set to reprise her role of Mindy Meeks-Martin, Chad’s sister who appeared as a member of the “Core Four” from the past two films. Variety was the first to report news of Brown’s casting.

Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott in ‘Scream 4’.

Plot details on Scream 7 are still under lock and key, but it’s at least clear that the sequel will show the family Sidney built off-screen after all these years. Kevin Williamson, who helped launch Scream by writing the original film, as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, is now directing Scream 7. Guy Busick, a writer on Scream (2022) and Scream VI, now pens the seventh movie.

Paramount officially dated Scream 7 for release in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026, while Williamson shared the first production image as filming began in Atlanta this month.

“I’m not supposed to post about Scream, and I hope [Spyglass] and [Paramount] will forgive me, but when you have one of the best days of your life, it’s really hard to keep it to yourself,” he wrote in an Instagram post earlier in January. “What an extraordinary day I had working with an amazing and talented cast and crew. They brought their ‘A’ game and had my back every step of the way. I’m so very grateful for this opportunity and to Wes Craven, who was on my mind through it all. The profound impact he has had on my life and career is endless. What a day! I can’t wait for tomorrow!”

Campbell announced her return to Scream in a statement released in mid-March after sitting out the previous entry. “Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!!” Campbell wrote. “It’s always been such a blast and an honor to get to play Sidney in the Scream movies. My appreciation for these films and for what they have meant to me has never waned.”

“I’m very happy and proud to say I’ve been asked, in the most respectful way, to bring Sidney back to the screen, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!!!” she continued. “Well, actually, I could. While I’ve been so incredibly lucky to make these films with both the master of horror Wes Craven and the wonderfully talented [Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin] team, I’ve dreamt for many years of how amazing it would be to make one of these movies with Kevin Williamson at the helm. And now it’s happening, Kevin Williamson is going to direct Scream 7! This was his baby and it’s his brilliant mind that dreamt up this world. Kevin is not just an inspiration as an artist but has been a dear friend for many years. To the amazing Scream fans, I hope you are as excited as I am. See you on set.”

This article was updated with Jasmin Savoy Brown’s casting.

Exciting news for all you horror fans out there! The highly anticipated ‘Scream 7’ is in the works, and there’s a major twist in store. Instead of Patrick Dempsey reprising his role as Sidney’s husband, we will see Joel McHale taking on the role.

Fans of the ‘Scream’ franchise are in for a treat as Joel McHale brings his own unique charm and wit to the character. Known for his comedic roles, McHale is sure to bring a fresh and entertaining dynamic to the film.

With the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott and David Arquette as Dewey Riley, along with the addition of Joel McHale, ‘Scream 7’ is shaping up to be a thrilling and star-studded installment in the iconic horror series.

Stay tuned for more updates on ‘Scream 7’ and get ready to scream with excitement!

  • Red Wings’ Patrick Kane boosted by ‘welcome change’ to game

Patrick Kane didn’t collect more than 1,300 points by sitting back and letting the game come to him. He thrives with the puck on his stick and in a system that stresses an aggressive attack.

He’s been rejuvenated since Todd McLellan took over as Detroit Red Wings coach and on Monday was named the NHL’s third star of the week after collecting six points (two goals, four assists) in three games. It’s the first time this season a Red Wing has been among the league’s weekly three stars.

Kane’s strong play goes further back than that. He’s riding a seven-game points streak (five goals, eight assists), as is linemate Alex DeBrincat (six goals, five assists).

Kane credited McLellan’s approach for his own success and the team’s.

“Just the part of our game that’s kind of always on the hunt, always playing more towards the other team’s net instead of like sitting back a little bit has been a welcome change for my game,” Kane said. “And not only my game, but the team in general. I mean, obviously, the chemistry with DeBrincat and (Andrew) Copp has been really good, too, for a while, and we’ve been playing well. We probably feel like we can produce a little bit more, but we’ve been getting chances and playing well in that regard.

“So, try to keep pushing forward and keep playing aggressive. I think that’s a big part of our reason for success right now.”

The Red Wings (20-18-4) have won seven in a row, their longest winning streak since January 2012. They’ll try to extend it Tuesday at home against the San Jose Sharks (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).

Kane had gone a career-high nine games without a point from Nov. 15-Dec. 12 (he missed five games during that stretch with an injury). Now he’s back to stepping up at key moments.

Kane notched his 13th career overtime goal and 79th game-winning goal last Tuesday in a 3-2 victory over Ottawa. He collected three assists Friday in a 5-3 win over Chicago – his 22nd career three-assist performance. He picked up a goal and an assist Sunday in a 6-2 victory over Seattle, his ninth multi-point game this season.

“I’m honored to be his coach,” McLellan said. “You watch him all those years and try and solve him all those years. I’m glad I don’t have to do that. His poise with the puck is uncanny, how he can slow things down, speed it up. Probably an underrated shot, I never gave him enough credit for a shot like that, that he scored on (vs. Ottawa). He quietly leads, goes about his business and everybody kind of follows.”

Kane, 36, has 10 goals and 27 points in 37 games overall.

Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (2-0-0, 1.00 goals-against average, .960 save percentage) was the No. 1 star and Carolina center Jordan Staal (five goals, two assists) was the second star.

The Detroit Red Wings’ star forward Patrick Kane is feeling rejuvenated and energized on the ice thanks to a “welcome change” to his game. After a slow start to the season, Kane has found his groove and is making a significant impact for his team.

Kane credits his recent success to a newfound confidence and a renewed focus on his training and preparation. He has been working closely with his coaches and teammates to fine-tune his skills and elevate his performance to new heights.

Fans of the Red Wings have taken notice of Kane’s improved play, with many praising his work ethic and determination. With his renewed passion for the game, Kane is poised to continue making a significant impact for the Red Wings as they push for a playoff spot.

Stay tuned to see what else Kane has in store as he continues to thrive on the ice with his “welcome change” to his game.

  • Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones among Chiefs players doubtful for Week 18

Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones among Chiefs players doubtful for Week 18

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said his team would be resting starters for this weekend’s matchup against the Broncos and his team’s injury report reflects that.

Kansas City announced quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle), defensive tackle Chris Jones (calf), and cornerback Trent McDuffie (knee) are doubtful with their respective injuries. Linebacker Nick Bolton, running back Kareem Hunt, defensive end George Karlaftis, safety Justin Reid, linebacker Drue Tranquill, and tight end Travis Kelce are all doubtful due to a coach’s decision.

As Reid noted earlier, Running back Isiah Pacheco (rib) and offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor (knee) are out.

With so many doubtful and out players, some may be active on Sunday even if they’re not going to play.

Returning from injured reserve, receiver Mecole Hardman (knee) and cornerback Jaylen Watson (ankle) are both out.

Left tackle D.J. Humphries (hamstring), defensive tackle Mike Pennel (hamstring), defensive back Chamarri Conner (concussion), receiver Nikko Remigio (wrist), and cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace (shoulder) are off the injury report and are expected to play.

The Kansas City Chiefs could be without some key players for their Week 18 matchup as quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, and defensive tackle Chris Jones are all listed as doubtful.

Mahomes is dealing with a toe injury, Kelce has been battling a knee issue, and Jones has been nursing a calf injury. The potential absence of these star players would be a significant blow to the Chiefs as they look to secure their playoff positioning in the final game of the regular season.

It will be crucial for the Chiefs to have contingency plans in place if Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones are unable to suit up. Backup quarterback Chad Henne, tight end Blake Bell, and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi could be called upon to step up in their absence.

Chiefs fans will be anxiously awaiting updates on the status of Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones as they prepare to face off against their Week 18 opponent. Stay tuned for further updates on their availability for the game.

On Thursday, the NFL announced its full Pro Bowl rosters for both the AFC and NFC. The flag football game will take place on Feb. 2 in Orlando. The Baltimore Ravens had the most Pro Bowlers this year with a whopping nine players. That includes wide receiver Zay Flowers, who is the first Ravens wideout to make the Pro Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes missed the initial Pro Bowl roster for the first time since he became Kansas City’s full-time starter in 2018, but his three interior offensive linemen were selected to the games, as was star tight end Travis Kelce. Just four teams failed to field a Pro Bowler this year: The New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans.
